Descended from an ancient race, Earth’s few remaining Lightkeepers battle the forces of darkness that threaten humanity...

Detectives Micki Dare and Zach Harris are called in to investigate when a millionaire developer leaps from atop his luxury hotel on the night of its grand opening.

After Micki receives a mysterious package from her long-dead mentor, and Zach suspects something supernatural working against them, they realize this is no ordinary case. A dark force is once again threatening the Big Easy.

Aspects of this case prove eerily similar to an unsolved murder from years before, making the stakes dangerously personal for Micki. This time it’s her life on the line.

It will take the ingenuity and special skills of their misfit band of light beings and humans to bring this perpetrator down...but can they do it before they lose one of their own?

I was either bored or frustrated but never pulled into the story. It had potential but a good portion of the book was based on poor communication, giving the bad guys all the odds and not supporting your inner circle. Then it quickly reverses direction and the good guys get all the odds. The ending felt totally unbelievable. Plus the Angel and Seth element continues in the cliffhanger mode for another book.

This one just fizzled and died for me.

I am such a big fan of Erica Spindler and the Lightkeepers series... and all her books! When I was approved for an advanced copy of this book I was so excited and could not wait to jump straight in.

This series is fantastic. I love Micki Dare and her partner Zach Harris. Fore warning.... if you have not read the first 2 books in this series do not read this book until you have. There is a continuous story throughout the books and you will be lost without all the information.

In this book Dare and Harris are called to the scene when a weathly businessman seemingly throws himself off a balcony of his apartment. But all is not what it seems and Micki and Zach fight to oncoverr the truth.

I absolutely loved this book....and I really can't wait another year for book 4! Thank you so much to Double Shot Press and NetGalley for a copy of this book to read and enjoy in exchange for my honest opinions. If you haven,t read an Erica Spindler book before WHY NOT!!

Fallen Five by author Erica Spindler does not disappoint the fans of the Lightkeeper serries! If you are not familiar with the Lightkeepers, you may want to start with the first one, The Final Seven. The subject matter is the paranormal within the present day. This is a series about the remnants of beings which were to help humankind through the ages. When some of the Lightkeepers married a human, which was forbidden, then chaos and the battles between goodness and evil becomes more complex.
Micki Dee Dare, the main character, is a New Orleans police detective, Her assigned partner Zach Harris is a member of secret FBI team called the Sixers. These team members have been identified to have psychic gifts or various sensory abilities and they have been trained to work with law enforcement.
I won't post spoilers, although I want to...but Fallen Five is written so well. Some scenes are very intense for Micki and I could not put the book down once I got started. when you enjoy a series and you like the characters, you connect with their experiences and frankly, I got worried for Micki!
Micki investigates the suicide of Sarah Stevens. Her sister insists that Sarah had to have been coerced to do such an act. A few days later Micki investigates another apparent suicide by a wealthy real estate developer, Thomas King. Was it intentional, or did something cause him to fall and plunge down to his death in front of a host of people attending the opening of 2 River Tower and Hotel?
Later when Micki is considering the evidence and the interviews with his daughters, she thinks of similarities to a prior case. After Micki thinks she glimpses her beloved friend and mentor Hank, there are new questions and new worries. These cases have something eerily associated with The Three Queens case.
Oh No! Now you just have to read..!
And Angel...Oh, my! Angel a human, with a hybrid of light and dark, has a secret. Where is Seth?

I like this series because it reminds me of how this very thing happened in Biblical times. We now in the present day have people with unexplainable psychic abilities they have inherited through genetics from an age-old mystery race.

I received Fallen Five by Erica Spindler in a giveaway sponsored by the publisher. Review is unbiased.

Book #3 in The Lightkeepers series. I am a fan of Erica Spindler so I was excited when I won this book. To make sure I was able to give this book a proper review, I read the first two books in the series first. As with most of Spindler's books, I have enjoyed the characters and the writing in all of the books in the series. As the story progresses, I am liking the story more and more. I am not a usual fan of paranormal books, but I am glad I give these a try. Spindler may have swayed me to try out more of this genre. Looking forward to the next installment. 4 stars

This book was a classic example of "don't judge a book by its cover." I kept burying this one in my ever growing TBR pile because I was turned off by the cover in conjunction with the concept of "another race of humans." For the love of everything, pick up this book.

I've read a few of Spindler's books, loved all of them, and thought I'd pick up one of her paranormal books because I always love a good one of those. I'm not gonna lie, I was a little put off by the concept of this angels vs demons living as typical humans.....but Erica Spindler wove this tale effortlessly and rather expertly, almost to the point of believability.

I couldn't put this book down. I always know a book is going to be 5 stars when I find myself wishing I could read while driving and this one did that for me. It's the 3rd in the Lightkeepers series and can easily be read as a standalone (I've only read this one, but you better believe I'll be going back for the others!)

Thank you Netgalley for giving me this book in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

I've read several books from Erica Spindler and some I figured out others were a surprise and others were just plain creepy. In this latest installment of her Light Keepers series she brings weird and strange to a new level. I'll admit to being a little confused and lost at certain times because I couldn't figure out the connections and I think that some of what I needed to know were in the other 2 books in the series, but this books does stand on its own. I'd hoped for a little more romance between Mick and Zach but other wise I was kept wondering if people were really interacting with Mick or was it someone else or was Mick interacting with the real friends or an imposter. I look forward the next book in the series and catching up with the first 2 of the Light Keepers Series. There were even a couple of places that some humor came through and a surprise character I didn't expect to see for Ms. Spindler's other books.

Micaela Dare is proud of her nickname Mad Dog Dare. As a Detective of the New Orleans Police Department she gets strong gut reactions to the criminals she comes in contact with, especially if they seem to have special abilities. She has also just found out she has a small amount of Light Keeper in her.. She's been paired with Zachary Hollywood Harris who has special abilities because he is half Light Keeper. While working on a case that looks like a suicide they are called into another similar case but with a higher profile. This most recent case reminds Mick of one of her first cases. She's also been seeing her dead mentor. When she receives a package from him it really shakes her up and after talking to the Post Office officials realizes that it just got lost in the mail. Zach is beginning to worry about her. As the case progresses and it looks like it was a suicide Mick gets more information from the daughter of the man who died about an insurance policy and goes to confronts the widow who reveals what type of monster she really is and threatens all of Mick's loved ones. She tries to warn Zach of what is happening but isn't coherent so he thinks she's unravelling. While Mick takes a couple days off to try to get in touch with her 2 friends she knows can help her. Zach is still pursuing the case and trying to figure out why Mick is not acting normally. He tries to prevent the suicide of the victims oldest daughter but fails. Mick has been suspended and gets a call from the sister of the first suicide case they were working. She gets visits from the 2 people she's been trying to reach saying they'll take care of the monster. Mick can't figure out what she's done to drive the young girl Angel away to stay with Zach's mother who has been living with her. Meanwhile Angel is keeping a secret that she tells Zach's mom but Mick figures out. The person who has been messing with Mick's mind shows up at her house as her worst nightmare and tries to get her to commit suicide, but Zach has figured out what's been going on and convinces Mick he's real and stops her from the act. They talk and come up with the plan to go to his mom for help. They show up at Arianna's house and come up with a plan and decide to bring Angel into it so she won't be put in danger. Only its too late because the person messing with Mick has already kidnapped her. Mick decides that they need to exchange her for Angel but her enemy won't go for it. They find out that this enemy works in pairs so they can trade them to the Light Keepers High Council and decide that if they can catch them they can use the two as an exchange for their friends who've been detained for breaking High Council laws. Arianna and Mick talk about her mentor who the monster killed 6 years ago and she learns more about him and her she's a connection to her partner Zach. Mick receives a call from someone connected to the first suicide case they were working and figures that is the best way to get to her main enemy. He takes her to his sister and escapes to go after Angel and watch Mick die. Zach has been out looking for Angel and how to capture the monster when his uncle shows up. The 2 of them head to Mick's location where she's fighting the monster messing with her and the 3 capture it. Thinking that Angel won't be found they head back to LAM to await the return of their friends and Mick tells Zach her secret that she hasn't told anyone. Zach's uncle's people find a dead body they think is the accomplice of the person that was after Mick. They arrive and find 2 different kinds of bird feathers and no Angel but a drawing she's left of how she was to be rescued by her boyfriend. Mick doesn't know what is going to happen with her job because of the disappearance of the woman who filed a complaint against her, but the Light Keepers protect her but all her recent good karma results in her loosing her most prized possession. Also by what Mick and Drew went through it brings them closer together revealing more of their feelings for each other.

What will happen in the next book? What evil will they face? How will the relationship between Arianna and Mick go? Can Mick and Zach come together as a couple. Will Angel and her boyfriend be safe? How will the Light Keepers and the Soul Bearers war continue? Where will all of Erica Spindler's weird and creepy mind take us next? I look forward to finding out.

Fallen Five is book three in the Lightkeepers series featuring the law enforcement team of Detectives Micki Dare and Zach Harris. Those new to the series will soon realize that this is not just a police procedural novel, as there are elements of the paranormal at work. Lightkeepers are part of an ancient race that are charged with keeping the dark from destroying humanity, of whom Zach and Micki have a connection. When a millionaire developer leaps to his death from his luxury hotel, certain questions arise as to whether there is a paranormal connection. As the links to a previous case of Micki's has her wondering, will the future for all that she loves be uncertain?

Although this book was relatively a quick read, I really just could not get into it. Micki Dare is usually a strong woman, smart and determined, but Fallen Five takes her into a different direction. The paranormal elements were thrown in, making the central case almost like an afterthought. As a fusion between fantasy and mystery/thriller, the novel was not all that successful. The delicate balance was disrupted as the entire story was enveloped in the paranormal. The few personal revelations were interesting, but just not enough to propel the novel and keep my interest. That being said, there were unanswered questions that I am curious enough about to want to read more. I would recommend reading the series from its inception to those new to the Lightkeepers, as this novel on its own may not be enough to convince others to read more.

Double Shot Press and NetGalley provided me with an electronic copy of Fallen Five. I chose to review this book and my opinion is freely given.

LOVED IT!!! The Lightkeepers series has continued to be a must-read series. Micki and Zach continue to grow and make you fall in love with their characters individually with each chapter. They show you what true friendship really is. This book was another quick read as you can’t stop turning the pages to find out what happens next. One second I’m hoping we find out the killer, but also holding my breath in fear of who it could be. You go from smiling at how much Angel loves Seth, to being angry at the other things happening (trying not to spoil anything), to being hopeful that a budding romance will happen between Micki and Zach, to being afraid that their relationship is going to be over or build itself back up. It’s an emotional roller coaster and is definitely one of my favorites yet again. Erica Spindler continues to shine in each book she writes, but she makes it very difficult to be able to say which one is your favorite... because they are all so great!!!
All in all, Fallen Five was a great addition to the series. I love how the books always mention something from the previous books which helps tie the series together. There were things that happened in the previous couple books that I forgot about until it was written in Fallen Five. I also appreciate how the old cases were mentioned as well. It shows how good Micki and Zach are together. Between Micki, Zach, Angel, Eli, and the Professor, I cannot even pick who is my favorite character, they are all so wonderful. Great development, great storyline, and great suspense!

In Erica Spindler's the Fallen Five, the third installment in the Lightkeepers paranormal thriller series, this case was no other for Micki Dare and Zach Harris from the NOPD. It all started with the death of Thomas King, which was considered a suicide, when he jumped from the roof of his office building. It had changed things, when both Micki and Zach were in for a big and deep surprise. While Micki holds onto a special medallion from her friend Hank, Zach tries to connect with his mother Arianna. But between them, they deal with an unknown adversary who moves fast right before their eyes. And with the help from the High Council, they deal with a chameleon creature who shifts and transforms like no other. And this one has a personal grudge against Micki and tries to come between the people she cares for the most. And while she builds a wedge between the NOPD, it turns the tables and comes out with the images of her past. Meanwhile, Angel learns about her pregnancy and yearns for Seth to come to her, but there are forces who wishes to tear them apart. For everyone, their world is turned upside-down, while they set things right and capture the chameleon dead set in her tracks.

I love Erica Spindler's writing style, and I love this series!

The Lightkeepers is a unique twist on the angels/demons concept. The supernatural aspect feels completely plausible, and doesn't overtake the story.

Spindler excels at characterization. Each character is well developed, with a unique personality, and all the strengths and flaws of human nature. They pulled me into their world and made me care what happened to them.

The plot is well-paced, building momentum until I felt like I couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Twists knocked me off the path I thought I was on and kept me guessing how it would all play out.

This is the third book in The Lightkeepers series. While it can essentially be read as a stand-alone, I do think this is the kind of series that works best if you start at the beginning. The main plots resolve themselves in each story, but the characters' relationships and some of the subplots carry on from one book to the next.

I was provided an ARC for my honest review of this book by Erica Spindler.

I have read all three of The Lightkeepers books in the series, and by far, this was my favorite! Fallen Five is engrossing and I was not able to put it down after I started it!

I love the budding romance between Micki and Zach and I am waiting to see how Ms. Spindler continues this within the series moving forward. The book reveals new "supernatural powers" in the quest between light and dark, good and evil in a truly evil fashion that gave me chills and made me stop and think how great that ability could potentially be! :)

It is a great, fast read and I loved it! I cannot wait to see how the story continues and see what happens to Seth and Angel as well. Highly recommend!!!

Fallen Five is book 3 in The Lightkeepers series. Fallen Five was even better better than books one and two. Erica Spindler has a way of grabbing you in the first chapter and doesn't let go til the last word, yet you are still wanting for more! Micki "Mad Dog" Dare is a Decorated New Orleans Detective who partners up with FBI Special Agent Zach "Hollywood" , who is a member of The Sixers. A special, secret Paranormal unit of the FBI. Together, Micki and Zach have a close rate of close to 100. Fallen Five can be read as a stand alone book, but these books were written in a series and you get so much more backstory if you read them in order. Congrats to Erica Spindler on knocking it out of the park again, can't wait for book 4!! I was given an ARC for my honest review of this book.

Received this book from the Goodreads.com Giveaways. It was a good mystery but really need to read the previous books in the series for background.
Detective Micki Dare and her partner investigate several deaths that appear to be suicides but jus don't feel right. They think someone or something has helped kill the victims. While trying to figure it out Micki realizes that the wife of one of the people who died reminds her of a suspect in a previous case. The woman turns out to be a 'chameleon' and is out to punish her. She starts questioning things from the past and isn't sure who to trust.
Lots of things going on with the Lightkeepers. Two have gone missing and there are revelations about others. Romantic tension between Miki and her partner.
Enjoyable with a setup for the next book.

Thank you NetGalley for the ARC of Fallen Five by Erica Spindler that I read and reviewed.
I did not think it was possible but this series just keep getting better with every book. I am completely addicted to The Lightkeepers and I love Zach and Micki as partners and as characters in a book that I can't get enough of them.
Fallen Five was an excellent read from start to finish and I loved how Zach and Micki's relationship grew in this book and I can't wait to see where it goes in the next book. This was one of those books you could not put down because you could not wait to see what was going to happen next. Spindler out did herself this time.
Fallen Five gets five out of five stars.

Another great book from Spindler! I won a copy of this book and was asked to provide a review in return. I wanted to see how this book stood by itself since it is the third book in a series and I can say it held its own. I am curious to get more background from characters and events that happened in books one and two but don’t feel that this story suffered by not reading them. I was a little concerned as to how Spindler would do supernatural but it is the same suspense story that she is known for with the supernatural added in. I will now go back and read books one and two and look forward to book four.

I was so excited to receive an ARC of Fallen Five because I love The Lightkeepers series! From the start I was immersed in the world of Micki Dare and Zach Harris. Fallen Five is a fast paced, supernatural themed book that will keep you on your toes until the very end. After being called to investigate the apparent suicide of a wealthy businessman, Micki realizes it may not be that simple as her gut tells her it is to much like a previous case. Fallen Five follows Micki as she works to prove that her gut instinct is right.

This is the third installment of the Lightkeepers series and it did not disappoint.

Following an investigation into what appears to be a straightforward suicide, a deadly new foe appears. It's not long before Detective Dare sees some similarities to an old cold case and starts trying to connect the 2. But she keeps glimpsing a long dead friend (connected to the cold case) and starts to wonder if she's losing her mind - the people around her certainly think she is, she is definitely not acting herself...

Another easy to read, hard to put down page turner by Erica Spindler.

I received this book from Netgalley to review.
This is the thir bookk in the Lightkeeperseries and it just gets better with each new book.
The relationship between detectives Mick and Zach seems to be getting hotter and more complicated as they fight the battle between the light and dark. Mick begins to learn more about the light and the dark that make the fight increasingly more complicated and deadly.
I would definitely recommend any fan of the paranormal to read the Lightkeeper series beginning with the first book "The Final Seven".

I have long been a fan of Erica Spindler. This is the 3rd book in The Lightkeepers series. A fast reading thriller that had me hooked from the first page to the last. Detectives Dare and Harris investigate the apparent suicide of a wealthy developer. The characters and this story will have you wondering if indeed there are other life forms inhabiting our world. Thank you NetGalley, Trident a Media Group and Erica Spindler for allowing me to read and review this book.

I’m a huge Erica Spindler fan. I’m reading the Lightkeepers series in order with this being #4. As always, it was a quick read that held my attention throughout. But, just personally, I don’t like the paranormal aspect of it. People morphing and angels and demons saving and causing havoc are just too much fantasy for me. It’s a good thriller with great character development and plot suspense. It just crosses a little too far into the supernatural and occult for me, a non-believer.

The Fallen Five is very well written in true Erica Spindler style! It is a continuing story in The Lightkeepers series. Erica has the unique quality of taking a supernatural based story and making it very believable. She incorporates every day living into this story. As usual, I really enjoyed this book and cannot wait to hear more about these characters!

FBI develops a special unit with paranormal abilities. Zach is the agent who is placed in New Orleans with Micki Dare a police woman. The two have developed as partners and are fighting not only crime - but also evil
It is a paranormal book - so if you don;t like paranormal this isn;t the book for you. But if you do like paranprmal books, then it is a great series. I hope there is more

Overall a great read

I chose 4 stars instead of 5 because of the slow start. It took me awhile to get into the book, but once I did I could not put it down. Is book 4 ready yet? I would recommend this book as well as any other Spindler book, she is by far one of my favorite authors.
