Tja, es bleibt uh spannend - und immer noch schwierig zusammen zu fassen :D aufjedenfall wird jetzt Nägel mit Köpfen gemacht in der süßen Beziehung zwischen unserem Yakuza Taizo und der Maid-Hexe...
Nun, was sonst noch vorkommt?
- eine Kellerhexe, die leider zombiemäßig auseinanderfällt, aber endlich die Liebe ihres Lebens findet und auf süße Dates geht
- Dämonen, die Gerüchte wahr werden lassen
- leider kein schwuler Auftragskiller mehr ;/
- eine schwarze Katze mit nur einem Auge
- Brustvergrößerungen, die bereut werden
- die Köchin, die den Selbstmord aufgegeben hat, und jetzt lieber auf das Essen ihres Liebsten sabbert
- mehr Geister und eine Menge ziemlich nackter Leute
*shrug* yeah ... keine Ahnung :D still funny

Možná budu přehánět, ale tahle manga začíná dost připomínat nějakou Tarantinovku spojenou s Twin Peaks a silně infůzlou japonskem.
Druhý díl více rozvádí různé osudy obyvatel ostrova a rovněž nám představuje nové a zároveň i některé ukončuje. Ono je fakt super že čtenář neví co může očekávat a autor si hodně pohrává s různými osudy a dost zajímavě je i propojuje.
Je sice škoda že kvůli velké hromadě příběhů tu občas některé postavy nemají tolik prostoru kolik by si zasloužili, ale zase každá má dostatečnou hloubku aby vás ničí linka nenudila. Velkým plusem také je, že se tu nebojí ve velkém vyvržďovat ansámbl postav, což se mi u mangy už dlouho nestalo, aby umrtí přicházeli tak nečekaně a náhodně.
Plusem a mínusem pořád zůstává kresba, která je pro mě skvěle cartoon a dodává atmosféru, ale někomu může silně vadit jednoduchost pozadí.
Zatím ale řadím k manga topce a k hidden gemům !!!

By this point, I'm pretty sure The Voynich Hotel will end up among my favorite manga. Not that it's truly mind-blowing or anything, just that it easily accomplishes what it sets out to do, and is great for that simplicity.
The series is functionally a comedy, but it ends up being rather somber with all the deaths that seem to come so quickly for much of the cast. There's a point at which it almost becomes funny when you notice a "death flag" and realize a character who hasn't yet been able to do whatever they've sought out to do will die in a few short chapters.
And there's still basically no point for the Kikaider-looking detective other than the basic jokes of him looking like Kikaider and having human functionalities. And he can dribble Nivea from two fingertips.

EDIT: Minor twatness on my part; didn't realize Ishinomori actually had a show about a robot detective, called Robot Detective. Who just happens to look like Kikaider. And is named "K." So I was inaccurate, but also maybe justified....

This is such an underrated series.
The inhabitants of the island keep on interacting with each other, but in deadlier and deadlier ways. We learn a lot about the characters, especially Snark and the bunny-masked Alice, as some demons show up in town bent on causing mischief. Not many manga have the mix of slice of life and mild horror this one does, and it's such an enjoyable read. You cant help but shiver when you read "Today I've earned a treat!"
I really wonder how the story will progress, though. There are some surprising things in this volume.

This is such a fun little series. And while volume two isn't quite as unique as the first one, there's still a lot going on here: death, love, magic, clandestine operations. There's never a dull moment in The Voynich Hotel. Hell, the series gets points for being a manga with character relationships that actually go somewhere! It shouldn't be so remarkable to see characters in the medium who actually show physical affection, but here we are.
All in all, The Voynich Hotel continues to be a strange and endearing mix of comedy, magical realism, intrigue, and even a bit of romance. I've never read anything quite like it. So, if you're looking for something different, you could do far worse than this little series. I'm just a little sad there's only one more volume.

2 out of 3 volumes down!
similar to volume 1, a little quirky with a mix of substance and just fun plot things. it reads so fast because every chapter is one day, and some days are filled with nonsense. I will say, as per a lot of manga and anime of the time, there is some insinuation about l*lic*n so if that bothers you (which makes sense) maybe skip this series.
Wish it leaned into certain themes and plots more! will see w the final volume
