Guilty pleasure.

Серия в определенный момент приобрела статус finished, что дает надежду на внятный и окончательный финал (безо всяких «смотри в следующей серии»). Впереди всего лишь 14 томов :D

Too bad they didn't show sniper mask's face

Rating: 4 stars (overall)

Summary (for the whole manga):
Yuri Honjou unexpectedly finds herself in a place that does not seem like the world she knows. Soon after, she witnesses a murder being committed right in front of her by a masked man. She runs away to the rooftop and finds herself trapped. There are many high-rise buildings surrounding her. She tries her mobile phone and calls her brother. Surprisingly, her brother, Rika, is also here in this weird world. Yuri strives to find her brother by crossing the bridges attached to each building and fighting against the ruthless masks.

Likes:
-- Unique story, with a lot of violence. I was on edge after reading every chapter. Each character had distinctive personality and appearance, which was convenient for me to remember them (you know how some manga characters look all the same, so luckily the illustrator for this manga is pretty good with how the characters are portrayed).

Dislikes:
-- Too much fan service, not to my liking.

Just like the previous books in this series, this edition doesn't disappoint! I love the Silent Hill vibes within this science fiction city, I love the chemistry between the angelic girl and Sniper Mask, I love Yuri and Rika's determination to be reunited and later take down this sick and dark game of High-Rise city-ness, and I love the possibilities of where this could go. After Sniper Mask told the angelic girl his oldest memory as an angel who donned the mask, it was clear he was somehow connected to Rika, but no one knows how. What had me thinking deeply about Rika's motives to become a God and win the game was Sniper Mask himself. If he's connected to Rika, maybe Rika wants to win the game to restore Sniper Mask's humanity? I really don't know, but I'm obsessed with this series like there's no tomorrow, so you're darn right that I'll be reading the rest of this super-long manga saga!

4.5/5 Stars.

My favorite volume thus far! This one wasn’t as action packed, and I actually enjoyed that. It focuses more on answering questions and giving a closer look into the world, which was very necessary at this stage in the game.

We do get introduced to a new cast of characters, get let in on some more information about godhood, and learn more about the masks and what they’re truly about.

My favorite character is and has been Nise-Chan since she was introduced back in the first couple volumes, so I’m very nervous going into the next volume...

Honestly, this manga is weird. BUT. It keeps me intrigued and wanted to know what the heck is with this world. Why are they killing people? Why the mask? What's in the mask? Who is behind these? Where are they? Are they even in the real world? Or was it like a virtual reality game? That's what keeps me going. I wanted to know the rest of the story. Thankfully, this manga is already completed. I can leisurely finish it anytime I want. lol. No rush, no pressure. :p

With the stakes continually rising and a certain masked bad guy (?) questioning his own motives, and the ending of this one resulting in what we’ve known was gonna happen, this volume packs a punch and builds tension really well. So far I’ve. Not had one complaint about the series, so much so I’m pursuing the whole series. I’m told after what the anime covers (1-12 vol.) it changes and becomes something else, but I’m more than excited for that cause I want so much more out of this world.

Compared to the previous volumes I found myself a bit bored and wanting to finish it faster. It thankfully started to get more interesting towards the end of volume 6. Still a great cast of main characters! Kuon has my heart she's adorable and I love her blooming friendship with snipermask (HE IS SO FINE UNDERNEATH THAT MASK I JUST KNOW IT). As always I must point out the unnecessary fan service. It disappoints me every time but what can I do I am far too invested now.

Female character: *sneezes*
*Shirt bursts open revealing her bra, skirt goes flying and we get a detailed shot of what's underneath from the point of view of an ant.*

Oh Japan.

Still an intriguing story though!

[Persy]

Not as hard hitting as the previous two but sometimes we need a bit more forward motion right? Looking forward to the next!

COME BACK NISE CHAN!

[Reve Zero]

Can't rate it yet since I stopped because 7-8 nonwere to be found and the end of the volumes always leaves you with a HUGE cliffhanger.
