The art style is gorgeous.
I like Tetsu's personality, but his and Shizu's circumstances are just pure sadness. That ending is heartbreaking. 🙃
Its supernatural element has taken over to a whole new level.

The art is so damn pretty! Don’t be deceived by the beautiful front cover, it’s actually a pretty dark story, Right up my alley, romance with a horror aspect. I love it!

Recuperando el gusto por leer más seguido (no sabéis lo contenta que estoy) y por retomar la lectura del manga, en cuanto la editorial (Norma) me habló de algunos de sus nuevos shoujos, no pude evitar interesarme en éste. Secretos, romance, amistad… Y, por supuesto, el carácter japonés, ¿qué más podía pedir? Así que, sin expectativas generadas por ninguna reseña ni recomendación previa, decidí leer el primer tomo de esta serie. ¡Y ha salido bien!
La historia tiene ese toque raro tan característico de la narrativa japonesa. Aunque es actual, guardda mucha relación con los secretos y la magia, la cual parece rodear a Shizu, la hija adolescente de la familia Karasawa, para la que trabaja Tetsu, un chico de bachillerato. Shizu parece tener un problema de trastorno de personalidad, y por ello vive aislada. No obstante, cuando Tetsu empieza a pasar tiempo con ella, se da cuenta de que, quizá, el problema de Shizu es mucho más complejo… Y va más allá de una enfermedad mental.
En este primer tomo, las vidas de Tetsu y Shizu parecen cruzarse sin remedio, y Tetsu enseguida se muestra interesado por la chica. En parte porque le da pena que pase tanto tiempo sola, y en parte porque quiere saber qué le pasa realmente.
Los personajes secundarios (Shinobu y Haru) son bastante peculiares y tienen que ver con el trastorno de Shizu. La verdad, tengo ganas de conocer más acerca de ellos y sus personalidades, y ver cómo el desarrollo de la relación con Tetsu les va a afectar a todos ellos, porque tengo la sensación de que el chico va a ser crucial para que se desencadenen ciertas cosas...
En definitiva, me ha gustado mucho el punto de partida de esta historia. Con un toque entrañable y misterioso, plantea incógnitas y presenta a unos personajes que, bien llevados, podrían dar lugar a mucho juego. ¡Tengo ganas de leerme las siguientes partes!

So you're not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but everyone does it.
The art on the cover was just too pretty to resist , and the title is cute.
But actually, this book is a lot more intense than you’d think. Shizu is confusing to understand at first, she is certainly one complicated individual, and honestly, it was exhausting. I don’t think I’ll continue with this manga, personally I prefer a more lighthearted, carefree, saccharine-sweet kind of story. Also, I can’t say the art inside was as beautiful as the cover, I mean, it wasn’t terrible, I just wasn’t a fan of the style. However, I would still recommend this if you’re looking to try something different, because the story was sure creative.

I think the execution wasn't the best even though events had to be kept secret for the reveal. I'm not on board with this series. I feel terrible for the main characters but nothing really gripped me. If you like horror romance, this is definitely something you should consider.

Wah, saat membeli serial manga ini saya memang memiliki ekspektasi yang tinggi dan dengan hati gembira saya saya mengakui bahwa ternyata manga ini justru melampaui ekspektasi saya itu.
Good Morning, Little Briar-Rose memiliki resep yang lengkap yang saya sukai dalam sebuah kisah. Ada romansa, komedi, unsur supernatural/horor, misteri, keluarga/persahabatan/found family, air mata/kesedihan dan cinta. Belum lagi perkembangan karakter yang ciamik banget.
Yah, secara resmi manga ini masuk ke dalam rak buku favorit sepanjang masa buat saya. Terima kasih Megumi Morino Sensei untuk kisah yang menyentuh ini.

No era para nada lo que había esperado, la verdad.
Pero, eh, eso no es malo: aunque esperaba una historia cuqui de amor y con algo de drama, me he encontrado con algo muy diferente a todo lo que he leído, con un protagonista al que tengo que querer, a pesar de que se viene un drama muy fuerte, y un misterio paranormal muy heavy. ¿Amor en el futuro? Eso espero.
Seguiremos informando.

Questo manga è pazzesco. Ha una trama veramente originale e uno stile di disegno che apprezzo moltissimo: abbastanza dettagliato da far prendere vita alle varie tavole, ma non troppo da non farle apparire al lettore “troppo cariche”.

Als der Manga rauskam, hatte er viele negative Bewertungen erhalten. Das hat mich vom Lesen abgeschreckt, denn ich dachte selbst, die Geschichte würde mich enttäuschen. Wie falsch ich doch lag! "Guten Morgen, Dornröschen!" ist einer der besten Beweise für mich, dass man sich nicht auf Wertungen anderer Leser verlassen darf. Jede Bewertung ist letztendlich subjektiv. Ja, dieser Manga ist mehr Mystery und weniger Romance. Aber ich liebe es so sehr! Es ist spannend, hat einen angenehmen Zeichenstil und ich ärgere mich jetzt furchtbar darüber, dass Band 2 out of print ist. Ich hoffe, dass ich es bald finde, denn ich will unbedingt weiterlesen.

Aunque pueda parecerlo en un primer momento, no vas a encontrar un romance, al menos no por ahora (y no sé si después lo habrá), pero desde luego que se trata de un manga de lo más original que te sorprende y te hace continuar leyendo.

Wow. Para nada es lo que yo pensaba. Me imaginaba un romance cuqui y ni romance ni nada. Trata el tema de la personalidad multiple... Esta muy bien! Hasta me ha dado mal rollo en ciertas partes. Quiero seguir con el manga.

Me gustó mucho el dibujo, sin que sea nada excepcional. La historia también tiene giros interesantes.

This is a very bamboozling and misleading manga. I expected this to be a classic fairytale retelling with a modern shojo manga backdrop, but instead we’re getting split personality crazy girl… and a stellar last minute twist.
The art was nice and the romance started off cute, yet it unravelled at the end of chapter one so quickly and only recovered at the final moment just before the cliffhanger ending.
Multiple personalities, for me, feels more fantasy than even a fairytale retelling. So this manga felt like a failure until the twist came and then it suddenly get more interesting in a sense that didn’t feel too little too late. Instead it felt like a very novel concept which is the only reason it earned 4 stars from me and I would be interested to see where they take it next…

3/18 I brought this home from the library and read it without even glancing at the summary, and don't let the romantic title and summary fool you: this is first and foremost an original and rather chilling GHOST STORY. With its mysterious premise and realistic main male character, the start of the eerie story of shut-in Shizu and scaredy-cat Tetsu was an engrossing one that found me reluctant to put it down and finishing well past bedtime. I can't wait to get my hands on the next volume and see how things progress!

Wow. Just wow. This has to be one of the most masterfully plotted stories I have ever read, manga or novel. And that is on top of the unique and engrossing story, with its different and loveable characters your heart immediately tangles with. But the twists: so subtle but so shocking yet so obvious and perfectly placed for maximum effect. Just wow. I'm looking forward to re-reading the series soon with complete understanding to really get the full impact. Come for the genuine characters and sweet, innocent romance with its bittersweet but beautiful happy ending, but prepare to be dazzled by the masterful storytelling. At only 6 volumes, it's a novel told in manga form, so definitely acquire the entire series for a straight binge.

La verdad que me ha gustado bastante este libro pensaba que iba a ser un romance tipico pero con algo paranormal de por medio pero la verdad que me ha parecido interesante y quiero ver con Tetsu va a poder adaptarse a esta nueva circunstancia y poder seguir trabajando allí

3.5 stars. I’m confused, isn’t this romance? It’s only 6 volumes, so why is it steering far away from the romance plot? Is the MC using Shizu for money now? Why does it imply that he’s the one paying for his mom’s care? That doesn’t make sense since his Dad doesn’t want him to work.

July 21, 2023A sad and haunting read. I’m unsure about how some aspects revolving Shizu are being treated in this so I’m going to refrain from rating it until I read the next volume or two. What I will say is that the story took me by surprise. It freaked me out at times and the art put me in awe.

More of a 3.5 star rating;
I was not expecting for this to be as dark as it was, and I feel betrayed by the pretty cover. I’m very curious to see what else can happen to Tetsu and feel immensely sad for Shizu. Also, the little bonus/extra chapter at the end of Tetsu when he was younger was adorable.

Karena melihat Kak Guguk ngelike postingan tentang komik ini, alhasil jadi penasaran. Cukup kaget pas tau kalo di website Myanimelist, rating untuk manga ini tertinggi keenam di genre shojo. Jadi makin penasaran, dong, yaudah akhirnya beli. Eh ternyata manga-nya baguss! Mungkin di volume 1 bakal susah buat tau ini maksudnya gimana, tapi di volume 2 semuanya langsung clear, kok. Art-nya juga bagus banget.
