I loved it! This series was really good and I'm glad the parents have their own story. It's a perfect Christmas story!
The story is about Richard and Rachael.
He just started his own company a year ago and Rachael's father is one of his client.
It's really good! It's sweet and fun to read and it has a perfect epilogue.

If you have been following the Kane family, this is a must read. It's the story of their parents. Short and sweet, it was great to see where it all began.

- no ow/om drama
- no pushing away
-instalove
- no violence of any nature
-virgin heroine/hero celibate 6 years
-steam level was on the lower end
-great epilogue 10 years and 22 years out, which I adored. I love seeing a couple's HEA.

Aww that was amazing. Sweet virginal heroine and a very smitten hero made this a perfect read. They were so deeply in love and their chemistry was sizzling! Epilogue was sexy and sweet!

A nice, "feel good" series with heroes who are a bit too perfect to be true. Seriously. Does a man like Richard Kane even exist ? The guy is a woman's dream come true. Anyway, this series provides a somewhat escapist type of romantic fantasy and the stories are short. I gave it 4 stars because I found it very romantic in an idealized sort of way. I read only the story about Richard and Rachel ( parents of the Kane siblings ) because I had read the other novels previously. The references to '80's fashions and music were cute. If I had to rate this according to higher standards ( that included stuff like conflict development, thematic structure etc. ) it will get 1 star. However, this author's intentions were not to create a romantic epic ; she was simply writing short stories with a focus on insta-love and lots of hot sex. Therefore it did indeed meet those simple goals.

This is a great series and I loved reading how it all started with their parents- Richard and Rachael Kane. Seeing that the alpha gene comes from their father and is inherited and the boys come by it naturally. Richard is a Alpha with a capital A…Their mom is such a sweetheart and seeing how she was so bowled over by Richard and fell under his spell…well, the passion and the chemistry between them was red hot!! This is one Christmas novella that is one welcome blast from the past.
Also, this is a box set is the stories that kicked off the series which is the stories of their sons- Spencer , Matt and Ryan and the sweet and sassy women that they fall in love with. These boys are a chip off the old block. You definitely do not want to miss out on this spectacular box set that has a new story added in.

I've always been intrigued by the Kane brothers' and sister's parents, Richard and Rachel's story and I'm so glad we got the chance to read it now :) I knew that the brothers had to get their inner alpha/caveman from their dad and boy, I wasn't wrong ;) these men know when they meet the one for them, just like Richard knew when he first heard Rachel's voice over the phone and then seeing her in person, confirmed she was his ;) ♡
Rachel is the youngest of 3 children at 19 years old but knows her own mind. She's in college but still uncertain of what she wants to have as a career, all she's ever wanted to do is be like her mom and raise a loving family. When she first hears Richard's voice over the phone, she's flustered (in a good way) and when she meets him, she's nervous, hot, and a couple of other emotions bubbling inside of her, and that's never happened before so she was at first hesitant to Richard's intentions but her heart recognized her soulmate even if her mind was at first cautious. Luckily, she followed her heart (and Richard didn't give her much of a choice ;) ) and got her happily ever after with her hunk of a man ;) ♡
Richard's 26 years old but has been celibate for 6 years trying to build his reputation and business, so no distractions were permitted, luckily there was no exes to get between him and his woman and cause unnecessary problems. Once he saw Rachel, he knew she was his future, and he would stop at nothing to conquer and gain her body, heart but especially her love and soul, he did it alright, the epilogues proves that no matter how long or short of a time you know the person, you'll feel it in your soul he/she's the one and live happily ever after ♡♡

Rose had a boyfriend when she got with H, so there was cheating. I still loved it though. I'm not a fan of cheating so I very rarely read a story with that in it. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this delightful book from C.M. Steele. Richard Kane and Rachael Carrigan are the beloved parents of Spencer, Ryan, Matthew, and Danielle Kane (The Kane Family Series), this is their story of how it all began. Richard Kane is 26 years old, he grew up in Southie and had shitty parents that cared more about drugs than they did him. He worked his ass off to put himself through college and then got a job as a broker at an investment firm. A year ago he started his own firm and was now a very successful broker. He dedicated all his time to his career and making a name for himself so women were the last thing on his mind. It was snowing in Boston and his brand new Mercedes was in the shop because some idiot rear ended him. He was rushing to his office to meet Mr. Carrigan, a potential new client and no nonsense man. Mr. Carrigan had a bad experience with a broker in the past because he listened to his son, Teddy. He explains to Richard that he has two daughters ; Clare (22) and Rachael (19) and he wants to invest for their future. He agrees to do business with Richard and invites him to have dinner at his house at the end of the week. Rachael is 19 years old and a college student who doesn't have a major yet because she's not passionate about school. It may seem old-fashioned but all she wants to do is to get married and have a family and be an awesome wife and mother like her mom. Rachael's older brother, Teddy was a major screw up, he continuously lies and does drugs and he recently lied to the police after a car accident that was his fault. The day of the dinner Richard called Mr. Carrigan and he was mesmerized by the woman who answered the phone and couldn't wait to meet her. Rachael was excited after she got off the phone with Mr. Kane and she has no idea why but wants to look good for him. As soon as Richard meets Rachael in person he immediately knows that he's going to marry her now he just has to convince her. This book was really sweet and I loved seeing the couple that started it all for the Kane family.

Must Have Series
This is definitely one of my favorite Series from C.M. Now that it is complete with Richard and Rachael’s story I am one happy camper. Finally reading about the instant connection that Richard and Rachael had just pulls the entire series together. The boys definitely take after their father. Not wanting to let their women out of their sights must be in their DNA! Plus this is a perfect read for Christmas time, hours of entertainment!!

Richard Kane is probably the sweetest character that Ms. Steele has written. There were some sexy times in the book, but I felt it was more about the romance. Richard & Rachael were definitely insta love. Richard knew from just hearing Rachael’s voice over the phone that there was something special about her.
It was good to see how the Kanes started. I enjoyed reading this book & would recommend it.

The newest addition to The Kane series was sweet, swoony and fun to read. Finding out how the parents to the Kane children fell in love was fun, the Christmas aspect was a nice element. The characters were so different, the elements of different issues of that time period was a good addition to the plot. Richard being alpha, knowing what and who he wants is C.M all over, Rachael is sweet and kind hearted. It's a fun, quick five star read.

After reading about Richard Kane the old adage “like father, like son” definitely applies to the Kane boys. Fun seeing how the family gets started and how Richard falls for his Rachael. Love seeing that she was just like her daughters-in-law when they fell for her sons. So sweet and sexy too.

I love hearing how The Kanes came to be. Richard and Rachel were just so in love then and they still are they were just a great example for the Kanes in the future. This was just a very lovely read definitely love reading Richard and Rachel story.

I LOVE the Kanes! The are just so over the top drool worthy men. This series really takes to back to where it all began, and will make you want to re-read all the books again. This is such a great series.

I've read all these books separately but it was the first time reading this edition. I really enjoyed how all the stories are interconnected but not too much is given away in the other brothers' stories. As with most C. M's books there's lots of drama, lots of sex and definitely lots of babies!!

I ADORED every single second of this book. It was fantastically well written. It was nicely paced. Had quite a few laughs while reading it. With the Kane brothers, we now know the apple does not fall far from the tree. Well done Ms. Steele!
