Unnecessary sequel
This is not the first series from this author that I have read and I have to say the writing style is very similar. I love the descriptional part and the sex scenes are always thorough but as one novel takes place over a week, it consists of much, too much, insight to character's thoughts. Also I wonder what happened to Colin's best friend and coworker Mac? In this sequel it seems he has changed names and become Ted! The obstacles in their relationship seem a bit over dramatized. The first book was good, it would have been better with a simple epilogue consisting of the last paragraphs of this whole book. Not going to read the last in series, just feeling it would be even bigger disappointment.

Could Fate bring Mr. Murphy & Ms. Thompson back together again on another road trip? As described in the little blub of the novel: Fate controls who walks into your life. Love controls who stays. Will Abigail be a part of Colin's life or runaway from fear that people will scrutinize her if they find out she has feelings for the boss. Will Colin & Abby's stubbornness & pride destroy them from feeling each others void in their heart? They both had a wonderful Christmas but life has set in. Colin gave Abby a job & she is determined to prove worthy of this position by starting from the bottom. Colin already knows that her current position doesn't mean her talents but he wasn't going to agree with her. The problem is that he promised to call her after the holidays. But he didn't. Abby feels like she has been rejected again. The truth is he wanted to call her but he wanted to protect her from scrutiny if people knew they had a relationship or how she got the job? They needed to communicate. It doesn't help when the boss is in Los Angeles & the woman that he cares about is in Minnesota. How can they try to build on a relationship across the country?
Valentine's Day weekend & conference is set for Murphy Co. & other entrepreneur's. Because of Colin's success he is the keynote speaker. However, Abigail Thompson has been sent to sit in on the conference in Wichita for the media aspect of the conference. She represents the P.R on Murphy CO. She needs to listen, take notes & document on the social media platforms & press what the CEO is doing with the company. Abby is more than qualified to do that, though she is not qualified to stop her emotions, pain & fears when seeing Colin again after two months. When promises were broken.
Colin was suppose to go to the conference in Wichita a few days early but instead he decided to take a detour in Minnesota but the meetings regarding the European platform marketing wasn't going as planned. Unfortunately his little side trip didn't go as planned. Heading for the plane to Kansas... Little did he know that he would be boarding & bumping into the dark hair, brown eyed beauty that has filled his mind every night since Christmas. Unfortunately their plane is grounded due to another snowstorm. Cancelled flight brings them to Deja Vue all over again a road trip.
For Abby & Colin it should be a happier trip this time around. They can survive the 8-hour drive, Right? Will they endure this trip verses the first one? Or will stubbornness, pride & fear of communicating & possible PR scandal cause their shaky relationship fall apart for good?
Abby is determined to be professional & not let her emotional insecurities of being ignored by the tall dark sexy man overwhelm her. While Colin will pretend that the electricity this beautiful woman beside him doesn’t melt every time he touches her. Can he get out of release some of the cold in his his heart to realize Abby might just be the best thing that’s every happened to him?
Colin is thrilled to see Abigail & have another road trip with her. This trip will be better? But his workaholic mind comes back the moment Abby starts to suggest they stay overnight at a hotel because of the storm. Colin male pride says no to Abby's warning which leads them into some disagreements & strangers again, instead of friendship they built over Christmas. Abby's insecurities about driving in bad weather leads them into some danger. Which delays them further on their journey & brings out the worst in each other. As well as the hurts over the lack of contact from their closeness over the holidays.
See Colin is a keynote speaker & he has to get to the hotel to prep for his seminar he is presenting.
I doesn't help that Ted his second in command keeps calling harassing where he is & with who.
Trust me their difference of opinions get them quite combustible under the sheets!
Read & find out if this trip allows these two characters realize that they are meant for each other. I loved the ending of this one! I assure the readers that the 3rd one is the perfect ending to this couple.
They are a sizzling mess, hot. sexy, & totally meant to be their for each others to fill the empty void that is in their hearts. This is not going to be the last time we see Abigail & Colin are an emotionally complicated, insecure couple that needs love to fill their soul. They can only do that together as a whole.

Colin and Abigail are back again and are stuck in another snowstorm. He just thought it couldn't get any better. This time Colin is giving a speech and Abigail now works for his company, but in another state. Abigail quickly realizes their is something different about Colin and this is all because of her.
Being stranded again only this time these two agree to share a car and their chemistry is still there even though Abigail is hurt that Colin promised to call her but did not.their is also some danger and more arguments between theses two that leave them feeling like they do not even know each other.
They are still combustible under the sheets this can not be denied. Only on this trip these two may realize that they are meant for each other. I loved the ending of this one and I'm sure you will love it to. This is not going to be the last time we see Abigail and Colin there is one more story coming out for them and I can't wait to read all three as a whole. I give this story four stars

On their road trip, H kept pissing me off to the point that on the next scene I was mindlessly scrolling down their steamy moments. I never do that! That's how angry I was at H.
At some point after he crashed their car he thought her as manipulative all because she wanted to avoid an accident AGAIN. I was hoping she'd at least try to go their separate ways after him being so openly dismissive of their time over the holidays (book #1) but she never did. She gave him a bj instead. How nice.
And I believe H's friend was called Mac but author must've decided Ted suited him better?
Also realized he's a billionaire who does not own a private jet.

Both books one and two were enjoyable reads (read two because I was interested in their HEA) but reading book three is probably not going to happen. While I always like epilogues, an additional whole book making this story extend to it's HEA has lost me.
