A masked🎭 Halloween party at a Portland BDSM✋ club draws in visiting Nixon🐺🍆🌋✋, a part time dominant and CEO of his own Company. He's from Malibu🏄, and he never plays✋ at home.
He immediately latches on to Katana💃💋, a first timer at the club. She was experimenting with BDSM✋ with a Dom in another city a few years back, when the man lost control, beat her very severely, and broke her arm! Apparently she never learned her lesson! Here she is at this party.
In a one 🌙night stand style pick-up, Nixon🐺🍆🌋✋, gets Katana💃💋 to go with him back to his hotel room for some BDSM✋ style fun and games. They keep their masks on, to add to the anonymity.
A lot of the dialogue in this book is awkward. I don't know why. Hurried writing to get thoughts out?
The thought of knife play🔪 while bound to a bed is frightening, but with a total stranger it's insanely dangerous! The events of the one 🌙night in the hotel room happened way too fast.
BOOM! Nix🐺🍆🌋✋ arrives at BDSM✋ club! BOOM! Nix🐺🍆🌋✋ picks up Katana💃💋. BOOM! Nix🐺🍆🌋✋ takes her to his hotel room for a BDSM✋ all nighter! BOOM, Nix🐺🍆🌋✋ gives her his card and has her dropped at her home, wearing the new dress he got from the hotel concierge. BOOM! Nix🐺🍆🌋✋ flies back to L.A.
I'm having a problem with Katana's character actually going along with the binding and the knife play. Thank God, it's just a book!
Ladies, don't try any of this at home with a total stranger!
Katana💋💃 decides, since she's a sub, she won't call him. Nix🐺🍆🌋✋ wonders why she doesn't call, because he doesn't have her number! They are both thinking a lot about each other. Typical romance angst!

Whilst this does start with a newbi visiting a BDSM Club and the hero, Nic, a visiting DOm to the club and area, most of the story does not revolve around the BDSM lifestyle. SO if that lifestyle does not appeal to you, do not worry as after chapter 4 it isn't really an issue. Katana is a designer of book covers and is way too busy to have a relationship. Several years ago she did try BDSM but the dom that she experimented with got over zealous and brutally broke her arm. She goes to a Hallowean BDSN party where everyone wears masks. Nixon or Nic who is visiting the area and he is a Dom but he never 'plays' at home - only whilst away. He immediately spots Katana and makes a beeline for her. They enjoy their 'play' and he invites her back to his hotel room! What woman would do that these days?? Thank heavens this is just a story! Anyway, they keep on their masks to add that extra mystery to their night of passion. The next morning her gives her his business card and tells her to call him and then sends her home in his limo. The problem is that she doesn't feel as if she should call him even though she really wants to see him again and is waiting for him to call her. However, Nic can't get her out of his mind but he wonders why she never calls as he can't call her as he doesn't have her number! But don't worry Fate lends them a hand and their love story is revealed to us. It is very sweet and with no 'villains' in the story this is just a wonderful read of their HEA. Michelle Love has penned a wonderful treat for us here and I will certainly be buying myself a copy! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

A night too good to be true becomes a life too good to be true. Nixon and Katana may just be the poster children for insta-love! This story shows two extremely rare characters. Sure, they’re both intelligent, witty and strong-willed. That’s not so unusual. They meet up for a one-night stand of incredibly steamy light bondage fun, assuming they’ll never see each other again. Well, that’s not all that unusual either. They both realize they have super chemistry, but they’re determined not to contact each other because, after all, the arrangement was supposed to be for a one-night stand. Still not that outrageous.
Nope. Here’s what amazed me about Nixon and Katana: as everyone around them (and it does seem to be everyone), tells them how foolish they’re being, they still manage to believe in themselves. You’ve got to love that. After all, how can you expect anyone else to believe in you if you can’t believe in yourself?
This is a great feel-good, steamy, fairy-tale love story. It seems we may get to hear more from Nixon and Katana, and that’s just fine with me! Nixon is a dream, and together they make a very engaging couple—full of heat and heart. Readers who are put off by BDSM, steamy love scenes, and mature language may not appreciate this novel. But if these things don’t bother you, then check out this enjoyable read!

This book caught my interest since the beginning. A man who has a refined taste in BDSM meets a girl at a club and has an unforgettable night with her. Since it’s only a one night stand, they both part their ways but both can’t seem to forget one another. Fortunately fate will give them a chance once again because Katana finds out she will be having his baby. So owing to her unpleasant past (she went into foster care) she decides to finally call him and give him the news about the baby. Nothing could thrill him more because he has realized that he has finally found the woman of his life. This book is the perfect read for Christmas time. It has the right dose of tenderness that will melt the reader’s heart. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of the book.

As long as you read to suspend reality, you'll love this book. Super sweet once it gets past the 'scene' which is only the first wee bit. Nixon is a very rich man who likes to dabble in the BDSM scene once in a while. He travels to Portland for those dalliances. Katana is an overworked girl who has had a rough time with men. On Halloween, these two meet up and hit it off. Things progress rapidly and this is a really easy read. The storyline, as I mentioned before, is such a stretch from even Lala-Land in love that fantasy is almost a better description. Nixon is beyond adorable, after being a rather aloof lover in the past, and Katana's wildest dreams can't compare to her new reality.

Katana and Nixon. The story starts you with both feet on the ground running. It is fast paced and goes over how Katana and Nix met. Along with the fact that they were now expecting a baby. Shanna his best friend was such a nasty person to Katana that you just love to dislike her. But Shanna realized how Nixon felt about Katana that she wanted to bury the hatchet and become her friend. It would have been nice to read more about Katana's best friend Blyss as they grew up together in the system. A very good read. She goes to a masked party at a BDSM club. It is her second time. She had a horrifying experience with a dom before. He is a visiting dom and connects with her. They have one night and it is a great one. They end up healing each other in ways they both need. It is hot, sweet, funny, suspenseful and so much more. If you don't like this kind of things then this probably won't be for you. I recommend it. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

This was a well written sexy story that caught my interest from the beginning, the storyline kept me intrigued and I wanted to know what would happen next. The intense chemistry between the characters was awesome and intoxicating, I couldn't put it down.

Another fantastic read from Michelle Love. Great storyline that flows flawlessly with drama, love, and hot BDSM sex scenes. Nixon and Katana are wonderful characters who were not looking for a relationship but one night together could change all of that. It is a fast-paced beautiful love story that I really enjoyed.

This is a wonderful story that I really enjoyed reading. It has a great storyline that pulled me in right from the beginning and kept me hooked all the way through to the end. Michelle Love has done a great “job” making the characters come alive. I highly recomend this book.

I received this ARC for an honest review. This was okay. However, the books by this author is becoming quite predictable and similar themes are occurring. Different characters, written a different way.

Michelle can do no wrong with her writing. This is the second book in this series and it's just as good as the first, if not a little better. I'm loving this series more and more. Nixon is one sexy beast who meets an amazing woman, Katana, at a Halloween party. And pretty much from there, there are twists and surprises. Can't wait for the next one.
