Being a small town doctor didn’t have many frills, or supply much excitement, but at least it was safe. Safe, until a virus rolled into town, turning everyone into flesh-eating zombies. Only one other thing could surprise Dr. Amelia McBride more...learning that she was a witch. Now, Amelia finds herself in a race against an incurable plague that could wipe out her hometown of Holbrook, Arizona. With help from a sexy young man, Brody Joyner, she might just escape with more than she ever dreamed. Building friendships isn’t easy… building a coven is even harder. The Coven’s Grove Chronicles is a saga about the gathering of thirteen women who possess extraordinary powers. Witches all, they must come together in a sisterhood that will nurture and protect them. The secrets of the arcane will be unlocked for each if they survive long enough to learn. Join them on their journeys of discovery and hardship, and of course, to meet the dashing men they find along the way.
The coven grove chronicles are a fantastic read I would recommend them to everyone who likes to read this type of book even to those who don't I would definitely read them again could you please let me know when there is more of these coven grove chronicles books available thank you.
Ok, let’s get something out to start: I don’t like zombies. Something about them just “freaks me out” and I generally avoid zombie books totally (I’d use the phrase “avoid them like the plague” but that somehow seemed inappropriate here).
Ok, now my quandary. Despite my dislike of zombie stories I have really (really, truly) loved the Virginia Hunter’s The Coven's Grove Chronicles series. I couldn’t stand the thought of missing out on its book 5, Amelia. So, with great hesitation and a bit of “mental nose-holding” I dived in. And the verdict is ....
Yes! I’m glad I read this. It’s just as great as the prior books. Dr. Amelia McBride is a great heroine and I liked how her relationship with Brody Joyner is done - and how magic is used to save her small town.
This book is really well written and with a simply great plot which actually does a dang good job at handling the (brrr: yuck) zombies.
This series just keeps getting more exciting with every book. I mean Zombies? In a witch book? It was awesome. There were places in the book that I was so tense wondering how they were going to get out of Holbrook, AZ alive. I am so happy that Brody was the hero, I had been hoping he would have a book and Amelia was a perfect heroine for him. Although each of books had some hair-raising scenes, this one took the prize. It is really scary for H and h, but did they survive... you must read it to find out.
This is a wonderful, entertaining book and I absolutely enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this intriguing book is: witches, warlocks, zombies, friends, government contacts, drama, suspense, intrigue, twists & turns, adventure, action, mystery, unknown virus, lust, love, passion and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written, and keeps the reader’s attention. The characters are well developed with personalities and moods suited to the situations they find themselves in. This is a well-written paranormal romance and I would recommend this book.
I love this series. I'm a big fan of all things witchy, and love the way this series is being treated. Each new volume is a huge adventure, new characters are introduced, existing characters are further developped, It's so much fun. Zombies and witches in this one, with a small town setting, combined with the original characters being even more complex and 3 dimensional. Absolutely loved this one. I voluntarily received an ARC of this book.
Another great addition to the series, I really liked Amelia and it was great to see Brody in this book as we already have gotten to know him and he deserves his own story too. There is plenty of action, mystery, romance as well as surprises which I loved and this has definitely added another level of intrigue in regards to whats out there that could harm the Coven!
I was offered a copy of the book for consideration for a review.
Virginia is an excellent writer who fills our world with mysticism. I can't wait to see what world she has created in the next book. I bought and read the book today. I was so engrossed I didn't realize I was at the ending until it was right in my face. Another must read.
This is a great addition to the series. Amelia and Brody find each other at just the right time. She needs help when she finds out she is a witch and her town is facing a zombie virus. They make a great team and the romance builds as well. The book is a very enjoyable read and I recommend it. It has a great mix of action and romance.
This one I found time to sit down and read all in one day. I couldn't help myself. It was so worth it. I do so hope to read about the rest of the coven.
Don't be put off by the "zombies" - it's an absolutely terrific fast paced read.
Awesome even though I avoid books with zombies in them like the plague, this storyline kept me glued in place until I had finished the book. A small town doctor is suddenly faced with the unexplained - zombies. How and why? She has to find answers before all her small community is engulfed in what she terms the "virus". The arrival of Brody esculated the situation as more and more people are turned. A great plot that uses conspiracy by the US government and the Warlocks, a virus and the power of love to reach it climatic end. A wonderful full blooded read that moves so fast it's hard to take a breath. Great characters that spring to life before your eyes make this a must read. I received a copy for a honest review.
