Lots of love to Upendra, the writer, then the director. But either this book meant to be an autobiography of sorts was a fluke or maybe I read it wrong. Upendra being a wonderful writer himself, this book HAD to be a page-turner, even if he would be talking about his past, his childhood, his struggling days or anything beyond. Unfortunately, the first 3-4 pages say not to read this book. He could have cut short that entire one sentence trying to be funny message to just 1 page. 3-4 pages are lengthy enough to test a reader's patience just like the blank screen that went for a tad too long at the beginning of his movie 'Uppi 2'.

The first half of the nearly 140 pages dwarf-sized book is all about his childhood and a little not so well described struggling days in the film industry. As I read, I felt his need to run past his struggles to reach the second half of his book a tad strong. The second half was preachy. It was more about the detailed idea of what his film 'Super' was - a clean, incorrupt, united Karnataka. In the second half, he speaks about what we need to do to let our politicians know what we want from them and thus he speaks about what he wants to do for Karnataka with his newly launched political party. The entire second half was more of his election manifesto though I read the book this late. It was also a little boring specially when you know that this is written by Upendra. The best thing about the book was its cover page and the title.

Upendra's "Idannu Odbedi" is about the current political system in India and how it would be changed in his 'KPJP' is voted to power. Initial 30 pages in the book are about his struggling days and the remaining pages are about 'Raajakeeya v/s Prajaakeeya'. Some of his political ideologies are really interesting to point-out. If KPJP really does what he has mentioned in this book, then no doubt the political scenario of karnataka would be changed. Interesting one !

Author has shared his unique and out-side-the box view of modern day politics. He emphasizes on "Prajaakeeya", a new dimension in politics, a corruption less scenario where people take active role in politics and decision making.

However even though the thoughts are very good, author leaving his party, all these thoughts becomes little far from reach.

If you’re a fan of Upendra’s philosophy then it’s just a glimpse of his old days and his future thoughts.
It’s worth a read for all Uppi fans.

Short, Engaging Book highlighting why & how Upendra became what he is today and what drove him to movie industry, his progression as an individual and director and eventually form Prajakiya. Interesting read.
