Tonight was supposed to be my last mission for Lilah, the most dangerous woman in Ash City. Take out the thugs, get the package, get paid, and run off to live happily ever after with my fiance, David.

Instead, she betrayed me and had us both murdered.

Killers like me don’t go to Heaven; they end up in Pandemonium making deals with the Devil. Turns out the artifacts I’d stolen for Lilah over the years belonged to various inhabitants of the Counterfeit City, a world of paranormal and supernatural creatures that runs parallel to our own.

Now the Dagger of the Fallen has gone missing from Lucifer’s collection, and if Lilah gets her hands on it she’ll be able to raise an army against him. If I stop that from happening, I get a chance at redemption, and maybe, just maybe, a chance to see David again.

Now I just need to survive my first night in Counterfeit City...
