This was such a fantastic volume, its been building up for so long and it was such a good accumulation. Can't wait to see what happens next, especially after that last panel
Senza fare spoiler poi, LE ULTIME DUE PAGINE. Ho urlato!!! FINALMENTEEEEE 😩🥹❤️
Cheeky Brat is a thoroughly enjoyable young romance. Yuki is the high school basketball team manager, a very stoic and dedicated individual who is always professional in her job and in her personal life. Stumbling upon her when she's showing an unusual bit of emotion, Haruse, the team's cheeky playboy, is intrigued with Yuki and pursues her romantically. Their romance continues to be about opposites that attract. Her dedication to avoiding romance is infuriating, but it doesn't make it any less enjoyable to read. I see many comparisons to Maid Sama, but My Little Monster also comes to mind. I enjoyed the story, and especially the likeably awkward third point on the love triangle. Additionally, the illustrations, especially those of the basketball players, are excellent.
The Interhigh Prelims are coming up and it's Naruse's last chance to take his team to the Interhigh (after which, Yuki said he could tell everyone that they're dating). But in between him and his goal... is Shizuka (as usual) except only a few days before hand, Shizuka has a mental breakthrough and finally admits his feelings to Yuki... to her face... in front of the whole Ryuhoku team...
I'll spare the details on the drama for you to read, but this is the first time I've actually understood what people were saying when they say a character has a "smile brighter than the sun" (and I am forever cursed to like the rival more than the main character)
i loved it because it made me laugh really wholly, tho i would def not ignore some problematic things/parts of the story (hence the 4 star rating). overall it was a nice read and i see the majority being really offended? (i swear goodreads reviews are always so awful) idk i felt like so and i just want to say ; it's really not that deep💀 and i liked hakamada too, he's cute. both of the mcs annoyed me a bunch but then despite them being fictional you can't possibly expect for a character to be absolutely perfect like that's bullshit, besides the current character development made it better
Honest to God if I was this girl I would join a convent. Somehow had every tall basketball player in Japan after her. Plus like most of these Hakamada and Naruse fights are just them having issues with themselves or each other and using her as a proxy and I'm sick of it. Get away from herrrrrr. Tho the sick chapter was actually cute.
ALSO the "that's what a mom does" line was so good. These men do not expect them to be girls.
shaking my head the entire time while reading so it's clear that I have hated this series before opening the next volume like "Oppenheimer building the first atomic bomb and shaking his head the whole time so that everyone knows he doesn’t agree with nuclear warfare"
Yuki's life is just as hectic as ever--she's been asked to become a full-time manager of the Osaki college basketball team, summer exams are coming up, and she's latched on to a new worry with her relationship in Naruse, courtesy of her free-spirited new friend: is Naruse's parents okay with him dating a college girl and regularly being at her apartment? Is it time for her to meet his parents? What about going public on their dating? It's all on the books for after the Inter-High Prelims, which will see Naruse and Hakamada go head to head again....
This volume showed a lot of growth in Yuki and Naruse's relationship without all of the miscommunication, though there was a pinch of jealousy. The chapters in this volume focused more on Yuki striving to be a "good girlfriend" while Naruse is preparing for the Inter-High Prelims. Except, what exactly can she do? Just cheering doesn't seem like enough, and she's too awkward to just come right out and say what's on her mind.
This series is so darn cute. I'm such a sucker for a sweet romance, and the cliffhanger of the last chapter (ch. 65) leaves me hungry for the next!
