Keyhole Lake has its fair share of oddballs and ne'er-do-wells, but sometimes even good folks do bad things, right? At first, the crimes seem to stem from desperation or teenage rebellion, but when the president of the ladies' auxiliary is busted stealing church funds, Noelle starts to piece together a pattern that points to a much more nefarious - and magical - explanation.
The infractions go from bad to worse, and to add insult to injury, the sheriff - her beau - doesn't believe her.
Though she has a town full of ghosts and a couple powerful witches on her side, the rest of the town - including her talking donkey - is convinced she's off her rocker. After all, "the devil made me do it" is an expression, not an alibi. The stakes skyrocket when one of the people closest to her is found standing over a dead body holding the murder weapon. The bad guys are about to find out what happens when you mess with southern witch's family, friends, and talking pets, assuming she can stay alive and out of jail long enough to find them.
I was born and raised in the South and even hung my motorcycle helmet in Colorado for a few months. I've always had a touch of wanderlust and have never feared just packing up and going on new adventures, whether in real life or via the pages of a great book.
When I was a little girl, I didn't want to grow up to be a writer—I wanted to raise unicorns and be a superhero. When those gigs fell through, I chose the next best thing: creating my own magical lands filled with adventure, magic, humor, and romance.
I live in Florida with my two dogs and when I'm not writing or reading, I'm racing motorcycles with my taller, more handsome half, hanging out at the beach, or binge-watching anything magical on Netflix.
I'm eternally grateful for all the people who help make my life what is today - friends, readers, family. No woman is an island.

. I enjoy the humor, the shenanigans, and the quirky characters in this series. Ghosts are an intricate part of the community in this book and more 'living impaired citizens' (ghosts) are revealed in this book. This mystery based on an unknown magical influence was not as interesting or intriguing as the first two books in this series, at least through my eyes.
Although, I'm still looking forward to reading the rest of the series to get to know the lovable characters better and to discover what happens with this eclectic group. Strange paranormal happenings boggle your mind.
This is a clean read that is able to stand on its own. However, it most definitely makes more sense if you read the entire series in the order they were written.
This book concludes with an H.E.A., but the next book in the series is sure to include another murder mystery that needs to be solved.
This series is not full of sexy steamy scenes. It's full of personality and mystery. The characters are well developed and given unique personalities. The mystery is always written so I'm not sure if I have it figured out or not.
Another great entry about the goings on in Keyhole Lake and the inhabitants. Though this one was a bit slower, I enjoyed the story and look forward to the next entry.
I really enjoy this series by Tegan Maher. The characters are a fun mix of different ages as well as ghosts, witches and humans. The mystery is a good mix of twists and red herrings that kept me guessing.
Between a group of the living-impaired, some of the non-standard losing their inhibitions momentarily and Camille finally explaining her long mission away, things are slightly less than what passes for normal in Keyhole Lake. With Raeann accused of murdering one of the anti-Flynn gang, Noelle must find out what's going on. Even her beau, Hunter, seems hexed when he refuses to release Rae. A mysterious woman seems to be following Noelle then just vanishes. Yes, it's another hectic week in this small but tight knit town. Will all the pieces come together? I love this series not only because of the keenly written cosies. These stories go far to explain how towns and small cities in the Deep South regard family, friends and doing what's right and good. Helping even her nemesis, Noelle & clan look to put things right. And I love reading the same Saas I grew up with.
I did not enjoy this book as much as the previous ones. Thanks to the author's note, I was already ticked off and that tainted my view of the book going forward. The book was littered with typos and grammatical errors. Thanks, again to her author's note, I was keyed up and looking for them. What really set me off was her stating that the main character is educated but sometimes slips and speaks Southern. The implication being that those who speak that way are not educated? SERIOUSLY?
I also felt that the story was sort of slapped together and that it kept losing it's way. There were too many things going on at once and they were *poof* resolved with very little work from any of the characters involved.
The first two books were great, although I did have a couple of moments in the second one where I saw the author was starting to go off the rails. I hoped it was just an aberration. Now, I'm not so sure. Since I really like these characters, I'll give it another shot and hopefully whatever caused the author to veer off course so much (probably the reason she felt the need to include the author's note) has been resolved.
Paranormal is a relatively new reading genre for me and I was so lucky to have found this author early on - so many great stories from her! Her books are full of magic, mystery, family, friends and magical animals too. The stories are well-written, fun, good reads for those times you need an escape from real life. The characters are people I would like to have as my friends and family. The author has a witty, snappy and humorous writing style - there is always a totally hilarious gem or two in the story that make my day! In this book, there are some town folk acting totally out of character, including Noelle's sheriff boyfriend Hunter. And who is the mystery woman stalking Noelle? Noelle and the gang will have to be at the top of their game to solve this magical mystery! Great read and series that I can't recommend highly enough - looking forward to the next one!
Noelle and her friends, including ghosts, have a lot going on. We start with Noelle estate sale shopping looking for pieces to refinish for the new business she intends to open. Shelby and Emma find a cool door and a table with bonus rings in the drawer. A few odd things happen happen after they leave. When she gets home there are strange things going on in town too. Noelle ends up bailing hey best friend out of jail and her worst enemy a few days later! In fact, there's a week full of strange happenings that seem like coincidences, but confuse Noelle and her friends. They have to figure this mess out and solve murders along the way. I love this bunch of characters and the way Tegan Maher writes them gives me lots of laughs along the way. This is a wonderful, witchy, cozy mystery!
Amazon description 1st paragraph: Keyhole Lake has its fair share of oddballs and ne'er-do-wells, but sometimes even good folks do bad things, right? At first, the crimes seem to stem from desperation or teenage rebellion, but when the president of the ladies' auxiliary is busted stealing church funds, Noelle starts to piece together a pattern that points to a much more nefarious - and magical - explanation.
The series continues to be very good. Finished this off in an afternoon! A little more magic in this one but it's still not overwhelming the plot. Characters are getting further developed and some situations have reached closure. Good to know how some things work out for people.
Ready to jump into the next one. It's a short one - 63 pages. Then on to #4.
I am becoming a real fan of this series. Th writing is absolutely consistent in its quality and the dialogues never lack in wit or quirkyness. I particularla like Noelle: "I am a southern girl. Yes, I am a witch but I also carry a 9mm in my handbag ." *grins* My kind of girl. My friend Barbie Lee from Oklahoma would love her to bits. She actally really always carries a little silver revolver, just in case. Her farm is equally off the beaten track.
But back to the story, Max the speaking donkey gets competition by another grouch called Max, much to Noelle's annoyance. She, Rae and Shelby have to deal with random acts of reckless behaviour that more and more seems to be caused by magic ... chaos and some fun is the consequence.
Hey fun and entertaining southern which it cozy mystery series
Hey witchy cozy mystery series. If you like which he cozy mystery series and would like to read one for most southern point of you then this is the series. A very entertaining and quirky which he cozy mystery series with a southern twist. A small Georgia lake town that has a mixture of which is ghosts in humans and not all the humans know about the ghosts or the witches. Follow along with their characters as they live their lives in the south and find trouble and get out of it a very humorous at times entertaining Siri is with a great cast of characters and a little bit of snarky humor
I totally enjoyed this story. It was filled with magic and mayhem, love and laughter, murder and mystery, and a whole bunch of Southern snark. I really enjoy reading about paranormals coming into their power.
This story was written using a Southern dialect, filled with all of the local flavor and jargon. If you are a reader who must have everything written in perfect English, and can't abide racing in dialect and humor, then this series is not for you. If you want a fun adventure, but need a few words or phrases explained, either look then up in https://www.urbandictionary.com or just do a Google search for it.
This was a very chaotic read, and it took a while to get into the flow; once that happened this was great fun! I like that Noelle takes no guff, and her interactions with Olivia are always amusing. Keyhole Lake is a wonderful location with quirky inhabitants that create a tight-knit community. The possibly overlapping mysteries are intriguing, and the discovery of a leftover legacy from the previous regime is so touching...but I sure enjoyed how Anna Mae handles it!
Noelle is set on starting a business refurbishing old furniture. She goes out and finds some pieces that will work at an estate sale and finds more than just wood pieces. She finds trouble, which follows her back to Keyhole Lake. Things begin to get weird and yes there is a murder involved. You just need to read the story to find out all the weird goings on that happens plus there are a few good things that happen along the way.
Murder So Magical was a fun read, all the way through!! Weird things are happening to various people, a few end up dying, or almost dying. Can they figure out how and Why?? Keyhole Lake, reminds me of growing up in a small town, in South Florida! Going from Kindergarten, all the way thru High School, with the same people. Small towns with groups just like Kehole Lake...lol. Me? I'm off to read the next book...lol
This book is the third book in this series, and like the first two books is wonderful. The characters in this series are great. They are well fleshed out and relatable. The storylines are fresh and fun. The romance of the two main characters is sweet and complex as a real relationship. This series is perfect for readers of all ages. There is no explicit sex or violence. And the language is quirky but not blue. Overall just a terrific series.
Yall seriously can't go wrong with this woman or this crazy series!!! I just love it and I live the fact that I can connect my small South Texas Town with Keyhole!! Southern is just Southern, I totally get the attitudes and sayings and it makes me right at home!!! I highly recommend this book and most definitely the entire series!!! I promise, you'll fall in LOVE too!!!
I've been binge reading through this series this week anc I am not at all disappointed. The characters are funny, witchy, and just the right amount of southern charm! I do think the exert in the beginning of the book is funny though, people writing to the author to correct grammer that's supposed to be wrong because it's southern slang.....city folk just don't git it lol
I loved reading the new adventures that Noelle and the whole town got involved with in this book.
It definitely was a team effort to be all able to pinpoint where everything happened and what caused it.
I absolutely loved being able to see new characters come into the town and where they played their part. I especially loved seeing Justin again and how much he has grown and become apart of both families. I can't wait to see their growth and what shenanigans come into place!
When people in keyhole personalities changed, no one could understand it, till one day it went south and someone died. Noelle was trying to piece things together when her gut kept telling her it was coming from magic. When thing got much worse and Hunter's personality changed, things got sticky between them. In this book, the whole team is needed to solve this mystery
Noelle is busy on the hunt for furniture to use for her new business and also a place to open her business in, whiile she is doing this lots of strange things happen in town. While Noelle and her friends try to firgure it out, more things happen. They also end up solving 2 murders and why some people in town are doing srange things. a fun magical read.
This book has two murders to be solved and more strange witchy shenanigans amidst the same characters (and a few more) of Keyhole Lake. Characters from the other two books make an appearance. It funny, interesting and a wonderful way to spends your reading hours. She just needs to throw a little sex into the stories. Now for book 4
I really enjoy the way Tegan has written this book (and the rest in the series). Her characters and the storyline are perfectly believable and if I close my eyes I can imagine Keyhole Lake and everyone in it, it's such a magical place that's full of magic and mayhem which is right up my street... I can't wait to read the rest of the series...
Strange things happen in the town of Keyhole Lake in a regular basis, but the most recent happenings are slightly bizarre. For instance, the woman who normally gives generously (and loudly) takes all the donations back. Or the Reverend slapping a woman in her behind when she was bent over? Or Rae accused of murder? Curiouser and curiouser...
I have liked this series from the beginning. This is one of my favorite Genres. Fantasy, good witches, magic, romance, ghosts who when they were alive caused problem, now that they are dead they can cause other worldly problems.
I suspected form the beginning the problem. So here is my thought "be careful what you wear". Happy reading about old friends and some new.
I enjoyed this book. Kept me turning the pages to see what was going happen next. BUT, there were many more errors in this book than the previous books. Not just the “errors” the author had mentioned at the beginning, but words actually left out, he instead of she, etc. VERY DISTRACTING! Please proofread!
And, sure, there is a murder. Because what would a cozy mystery be without a corpse?
One new (presumably continuing) character is added to the crew. The magical shenanigans are finally tracked down. I found this book dragged a bit compared to the second book, but I still enjoyed it quite a bit. I do love watching the characters develop.
