At thirty-two years old, Tammy lacks any real direction. She’s determined to get her life together, but something always gets in her way. Point and case, the one thousand dollars’ worth of damage she causes to a cute little candy shop because of her clumsy feet.
Mason doesn’t know why he offers a job to the hot mess who crashed his display case, but the bottom line is, she needs money and he needs someone to work for minimum wage in his store.
Mason has secrets, and now’s not the right time to get involved with someone, but working with Tammy without falling for her might prove to be difficult.
**Bitter Sweets is a 28,000 word novella that belongs to the One Night family but can definitely be read as a standalone.**
Eden Finley presents us another sexy and humorous novel for us and I'm never disappointed with them. I loved the addition of a candy store. Eden's humor is different from any other author I've read and it keeps me reading. This one is no different when penis candy is thrown into the mix ;)
I've read the entire One Night Series (well, that's not true...I'm waiting on Pip's book) so when I heard about the free novella, I pounced on the opportunity to read it.
This book starts out with a bang! Oh my gosh, it's so funny! I literally laughed out loud. The humor can be found throughout and I believe it's one of the highlights of the story. But there is more to the story than humor. There's intrigue, secrets, and so much hot chemistry. Both characters have to learn to trust one another in order for their relationship to move forward. Will Mason trust Tammy with his secrets? Will Tammy take a leap of faith and trust that whatever Mason's hiding won't destroy her? Ahh, read to find out!
Sexy single dad candy maker Mason impetuously hires Tammy, a slightly older free spirit, to run the counter and make coffee at his shoppe. Mason is doing quite a balancing act, what with his family responsibilities and his new business endeavor. Tammy is a little lost, having not found her life's passion yet.
Despite the short length of the story, both characters experience satisfying emotional arcs. Be ready for some laughs, some sighs, a bit of steam, and a lot of heart. Definitely recommended.
I love everything to come from the magical mind of Eden Finley. Seriously, one of my favorite romance writers. So to get a free book just for subscribing to a newsletter I already wanted to get? SCORE! Mason and Tammy are just too sweet for words. Their chemistry is amazing to watch. It really tugs at you and makes it easy to root for them. Equipped with all the sass, hilarity, sexiness, and oh so much snark that I love Eden Finley for, this book has no business being free.
Decent in length and detailed story for a novella, this tale failed to create any chemistry between the couple. Neither character seemed mature enough or to even want to be parents until all of a sudden they were one happy family. Other stories by this author are much better and more memorable.
