Mistletoe Miracles by Jodi Thomas is a 2018 HQN publication.

Three sensitive and heartwarming tales set in the appropriately named small Texas town of Crossroads, will leave you with a warm heart, and full of Christmas cheer-

Griffin is about to lose his ranch even after he’s done everything conceivable to save it. That ranch is in his blood, part of his identity, which prompts him to make a desperate decision. He’s decided that he, or one of his two brothers, will have to marry a wealthy woman. To that end, he seeks help from two older ladies in town, who, to his surprise almost immediately comes up with a woman who meets his specifications perfectly- and as it turns out- he meets her expectations, as well. But, of course, there is a catch- one Griffin hadn’t counted on.

Meanwhile, schoolteacher Jamie Johnson finally has a place of her own and is contented with her lake house, but to avoid unwanted advances from colleagues, she has invented a husband. Returning home from a school related trip, she is stunned to find a man in her home. But, once the initial shock wears off, Jamie and Wyatt decide to play house for a few weeks while he is on leave. Wyatt will be her ‘pretend’ husband, and Jamie would give Wyatt the sense of home he so desperately craves before heading back off into the danger zone.

And last, but not least, is the story of Jaxon Grady, a recluse living in an isolated cabin, battling a plethora of demons. But, when he rescues a severely injured dog, after witnessing a bad car crash, his lost and lonely life takes a turn for the better, all because he is able and willing to help someone out in a time of crisis.

Instead of three separate stories, told one at a time, the author allotted each thread an alternating chapter, which sort of threw me, at first. But, once I picked up the cadence, it was all good! Despite the format, the stories are not really linked in any way, except by location. However, each story is heartwarming, and sweet, and all hold the promise of a brighter future- and maybe even a happily ever after- or two- or three!

While this is a holiday themed novel, and certainly embodies the spirit of the season, this is the type of book one can read over and over, at any time of the year. It’s an uplifting collection of stories, inspirational too, at times, and is just an overall ‘feel good’ novel. The stories are ‘clean’, with only mild innuendo and adult themes, so everyone can enjoy this one. This would be an outstanding addition to your holiday reading selections this year - and for years to come. Highly recommend!!

I received this book for free from the publisher (Harlequin) as part of their Bookstagram Christmas mailing.

This was such a heartwarming book!

This book tells three different romance stories and all of them were so cute and uplifting. They all had the common thread of finding love in unexpected places, which I loved. I liked how the author balanced the three stories. Griffin’s story seemed to get the most screen time but didn’t overshadow the other two. The other two stories got the proper attention they deserved and I’m glad the author didn’t force the stories to be longer. Sometimes less is more.

description

The three storylines don’t really overlap or connect to one another (there is one or two instances of characters interacting with each other but that’s about it), but I wished they would have. That felt like a missed opportunity and it would have took it to the next level.

This book does have a Christmas theme, but it is not super Christmasy so you can read it any time of the year. The central aspect of the book are the romances that blossom and romances are fun to read any time of year.

Overall, this was a wonderful collection of three romance stories! I definitely recommend it if you want something sweet to read.

My Rating:

4.5

Favorite Quotes:

If they had to carry all their shortcomings in a sack, they’d both be permanently bent over.

You’re the oldest, Griff. You go first. At thirty-four, you’re about to go from ripe to rotten anyway.

“You don’t believe in soul mates?” “Sure. Mom’s found three so far. Every time she leaves a husband, she rolls back her age like rewinding the odometer on a car. I’ve heard husband number three is closer to my age than hers.”

It must have been dark. She’s not the kind of girl you’d ever be able to pick up, so that means she picked you up. What I can’t figure out is why she didn’t put you right back down.

I had so many housekeepers growing up that I started calling them by their number. I think we were on about twenty-three by the time I was in college…They must be working through the alphabet now. The ones my father doesn’t run off, my mother fires when she flies by on her broom now and then.

My Review:

I snickered and giggled-snorted at the comical descriptions and wry humor throughout this narrative, although I wasn’t sure I was going to enjoy this book as I was initially appalled by the older brother Griffin’s presented plan of saving the family ranch. He instructed his brothers of the dire condition of their finances with their only foreseeable salvation being to find and marry wealthy women within two months and using said women’s resources to save them. Eww. This proposed plan sounded extremely cold and mercenary, which it most certainly was, and I know this happens to varying degrees all the time across all cultures, but as a feminist, I envisioned applying a high degree of pain to a soft part of his anatomy. Griffin was sincere in his belief of love also, eventually, being an aspect to this plan… stupid man… but that did seem to take the edge of my pique and kept me reading.

There were actually three well-nuanced and engaging storylines occurring at the same time, with each one being quite active, highly entertaining, observantly insightful, cleverly crafted, and involved varying degrees of duplicity. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I adored this large and vast cast of quirky characters and the real-life issues they encountered. I need to work this crafty spinner of tales into my reading calendar with regularity.

MISTLETOE MIRACLES (A Ransom Canyon Romance #7) by Jodi Thomas is a heartwarming addition to this series and is perfect for putting you in the Christmas romance spirit.

In this book, there are three stories intertwined. All set in the small Texas town of Crossroads. Each has a hero and heroine that have given up on love, been broken by people who supposedly loved them, or never believed in the possibility of love for themselves in the first place.

Griffin’s Problem has Griffin Holloway desperate for cash to save his ranch that has been in his family for generations. He would rather cut off a limb than sell even a small portion of his land. The solution he and his brothers come up with; he must marry a wealthy bride before the end of the year. These bachelors have no idea how to go about their plan, so they seek the help of a pair of elderly sisters in town who run a boarding house. The sisters find a bride for Griffin, but the bride has conditions.

Midnight Crossing has Jaxon O’Grady, former firefighter, living like a hermit on his family’s isolated piece of land. When he witnesses a car crash off the nearby isolated road, emergency personnel rescue the woman, but Jaxon finds and saves her injured dog. After realizing the danger this mystery woman is in, Jaxon takes her in as well to his isolated cabin and he begins to realize he is needed.

The Johnsons has Jamie Johnson finally settled in her dream lakeside home and happily teaching. To avoid nosy neighbors and unwanted male attention, she has invented a husband away in the service. When she returns from a weekend school trip, she is shocked to find a man asleep on her sofa. The town believes Mr. Johnson has returned. Now what is Jamie going to do?

This is such a wonderful read! Ms. Thomas has taken interesting individual characters and put them in unusual situations and we get to enjoy watching how they come together. I wanted every hero and heroine to get their HEA and the Christmas setting makes it even more magical. Well written with believable, broken characters who are perfect for each other. All sex scenes are behind closed doors. This is a book that I just did not want to end and I highly recommend.

“It seemed they’d already lived a lifetime together in a month. All he wanted for Christmas was her.”

Sigh. What a lovely book of 3 people not looking for love but finding them in a lovely town in Texas. I usually don’t enjoy different stories minimally intertwining in a story but this works for me that I finished it in 2 evenings. I am keen to seek out more books by this author next year.

Her romance are simple and touching. Not overly romantic but sweet.

I’m always up for a Hallmark-y romance. Especially when Texas Cowboys are involved. Good thing I decided to read it. Mistletoe Miracles is a sweet and cozy three for one romance.

The romance between these three couples is one aspect of Mistletoe Miracles that I really cherished. This isn’t the instalove type of romance. It’s the kind of romance the builds over the course of the novel as the characters get to know each other. Of the three couples, I treasured the Johnson’s story the most. I definitely have a soft spot for a military romance, especially in this case, where both Wyatt and Jamie need some care and love in their lives.

With the three different romances, we get three different intersecting plots. Each plot really works with the different characters. Griffin and Sunlan’s story really spoke to me. Both of these characters are strong and independent people. I don’t want to spoil it for you, but these two characters show the most growth through the novel, learning how to share the mutual burdens in a relationship.

"He thought about how they’d started, both wanting to solve their own problems by getting married. Neither giving much thought to the other’s feelings. Somehow, in just over a month’s time, everything had changed."

This is the first book by Ms. Thomas that I’ve read. And honestly, it will not be the last! I was a bit thrown by the beginning of the novel (due to my failure to completely read the description!), but I was pulled into the story very early and remained captivated throughout the story. The small Texas town of Crossroads is like another character in the book. I also adored the matchmaking of the Franklin sisters. There are 6 other books in this series. Hopefully the Franklin sisters are in those books as well!

Get yourself a beverage, a blanket, and a comfy chair, and check out Mistletoe Miracles. Even without chilly weather, it’s a wonderful read.

Wow - three intertwined contemporary romances set in the small community of Crossroads, Texas with couples who, for a variety of reasons, don’t believe they have any chance of finding love. This is a well crafted story, with great characters finding heartwarming romance during the festive season. It is a great read and, even though it is the seventh in the series, it works well as a standalone IMHO.

The individual romances are each lovely but the author has skilfully woven the three individual stories together to create a colourful tapestry giving a brilliant image of this community and the people and events occurring there. It is a delightful read that I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone who enjoys stories featuring a close knit community, with plenty of angst and turmoil as the romances develop.

I requested and was gifted a copy of this book via NetGalley. I have chosen to read it and this is my honest review after doing so.

WOW Jodi Thomas never fails to deliver a wonderful story in her books. Mistletoe Miracles delivers so much more than just a set of stories. These wonderful stories give hope in happiness and forever and even self forgiveness . I dearly enjoyed this book. I will Now be reading the whole series from the very start. Jodi Thomas definitely has a God given gift to have written this book in the way that she did. It takes God given talent to pull these stories together in such a phenomenal way with the wonderful endings to each story. The couple’s Jax / Mallory, Sunlan /Griffin and Jamie/Wyatt have imprinted themselves in my heart. This book definitely has a place on my keeper bookshelf to be read time and time again.

I read hundreds of books each year, and there are a few authors who stand out from the crew, each for different reasons with their own style of writing. Jodi Thomas is a true storyteller. She has such a handle on the words, the ways to pull the readers into the tale, to build up characters that are easy to connect with and fall in love with, care for like they were your best friends. The vivid images she paints with her words draw the pictures so clear that they come to live in the reader's mind. I adore this series and Mistletoe Miracles, it was just as marvelous as the rest of the books, with three couples finding their destinies, love, and soulmates over the miraculous time of Christmas.
Each of these tales is unique. The lives the characters have lived have been challenging, their lone existence in a way satisfying yet the longing for a mate is there somewhere deep in their souls. Nothing comes easy, each couple has to face their own challenges, and with some, it is an instant connection under false pretenses, with other a marriage of convenience, and with the third, it takes a longer time to heal the wounds in their souls and bodies before they are ready for a new relationship. Yet in each story, there is the magical wonder of the holidays, where everything seems possible, and falling in love seems so natural.
The book is build so that each couple takes turns to tell their tale of falling in love. The intervals are clearly marked, and there is never a question who's story it is at the hand. With the intertwined tales, the interest, and intrigue of the romances allure, and I inhaled the book at once, smiling, sighing, swooning, and even tearing up several times because of the touching, compelling, nearly spellbinding way the stories unfold.
With the clean and sweet romance stories, this book is easy to recommend to all romance readers.
From heartbreak to dreams come true, from saving lives to risking them, from small-town charm to adorable four-legged friends, the book with its three couples and their stories covers life, loving, and living in a fluently flowing, brilliantly written, pleasing tale that delighted, captivated, and mesmerized all at the same time

Mistletoe Miracles by Jodi Thomas was the holiday read I needed this year. The story followed three couples in the same small town brought together by different circumstances. While the story skipping took a few chapters to get used to, I really think format worked well for a sweet holiday novel.

The best part about three storylines? Three delicious and gentle heroes to fall in love with! I really couldn’t choose a favorite between the reclusive mountain man, the hardworking rancher, and the lonely soldier. All three have a little part of my heart now.

I am just going to put this out there: the pacing of this book was absolutely masterful. At no point did I feel the stories dragged, nor did I feel any story was short changed their inevitable HEA. Each couple had an individual dynamic and I was completely satisfied with each story by the end. If you’re looking for a book that will make you smile and give you warm holiday happiness with just a touch of angst, this book is for you! I can’t wait to pick up my next Jodi Thomas book.

**3.5** I didn't like the skipping around of the three different stories. It was hard to get into. I would be invested in one couple then the very next chapter was about the second or third couple. It was unnecessary as only two of the couples briefly met each other. Still Jodi Thomas is a good writer and a great storyteller.

My favorite couple was about Griffin and Sunlan and their marriage of convenience. I loved the interactions between Griffin and his two brothers Elliot and Cooper. It would be nice if they got their own books.

This sweet western holiday romance not only warmed my cold, cold heart, but it also cured my 5 star drought. I absolutely loved Mistletoe Miracles from beginning to end. I was enthralled from the very beginning. There are three interwoven stories happening at the same time, in the same small town and neighbourhood. I was 100% invested in all three romances. The pacing was almost magical in its perfection – each story was told at the perfect pace and I never felt compelled to read quickly just to get to 'one favourite couple,' which is a first for me. I loved all three couples and their stories were interwoven perfectly. The format and narrative structure are a perfect fit for the story.

Griffin Holloway, a rancher, finds himself in a marriage of convenience in order to save his ranch. Jaxon O’Grady, a reclusive former fireman, lives in solitary in his cabin, until he takes in a woman who was in a car accident in order to protect her. Captain Wyatt Johnson finds himself in a pretend-marriage with Jamie Johnson when everyone in the town believes the two are married. All three heroes were so gentle and loveable in their own way. My heart swelled three times its size and I finished the book with the biggest grin on my face when all three couples found their HEA. Mistletoe Miracles is officially one of my favourite holiday romances of all time.

Thank you to Harlequin for my free copy. I will treasure this book.

I have read several books in this series. While, Christmas is still a few months away, I was in the holiday mood to start reading Christmas style books. This book put me in the right holiday spirit.

In the beginning I did have a little trouble with the three interlocking characters' stories. This only transpired for the first couple of chapters. After, this it was easy to keep the different characters' stories separate for the most part. They still interacted with one another.

Right away, I was drawn to Jaxon's story. This is because he finds company in the form of a dog. I am a dog lover, so he instantly won me over. Although, the other character's stories were just as heart warming. There is Griffin and Sunlan. They may have started out as "pretending" to love each other; same as Jamie and Wyatt but in the end; both couples discovered the true meaning of love.

Ms. Thomas sure brings the Christmas joy and pure delight with her latest offering in the Ransom Canyon series, Mistletoe Miracles!

Just like the illustrious tumbleweeds that roll across West Texas Ranch-land, Mistletoe Miracles by Jodi Thomas will roll through your holiday season with love and comfort.
Ms. Thomas has a way of bringing people together when they didn’t even know they needed one another.

As the Mistletoe wraps itself around the limbs of trees waiting to be discovered, these lonely souls wrap themselves around each other and the safety of Ransom Canyon and Crossroads, Texas.

Griffin and Sunlan are two survivors trying to make a lifeline for themselves, little do they know they are about to discover what true love means.
Jaxson is a loner, hermit, and just wants to be left alone after a tragic fire. He’s about to find not one, but two lost souls, who need a best friend.
Jamie Johnson is just wanting a safe, calm, and low key place to settle down as she takes on her new teaching job in Crossroads. Wyatt is on leave from the army, but the unconventional way they meet will give you a warm feeling of meant to be.

As these three couples get to know one another, their lives will become intertwined with the miracles of the season.

Three (soon to be) couples in three stories whose lives intersect in this small Texas town. Now by three stories I don't mean there are three separate books, but three different plots. I know when I first started reading this book I was a little confused but I quickly fell into the flow and loved each and every character. They all have their issues, but love helps them overcome and become better people.

I am not sure which one of these was my favorite because they all grabbed a piece of my heart in different ways. Jax, who was a victim of a fire and is leaving a hermit life until he sees a car crash close to his home. Sunlan, she has lived her life being sheltered or controlled by her parents and finds a way to escape that and be her own person, but at what cost? Wyatt, he has a tough life in the military but through a misunderstanding by the local sheriff finds that maybe life isn't meant to be lived alone. There are many other characters but this just highlights a few of them.

This book touched my heart, made me laugh, and even raised my protective instincts. It had everything I like to see in a book and enjoyed every moment in Crossroads.

Here are some of my favorite lines:

"Then you'd better come back soon. I'm not sure we speak the same language. Some guy in tight pants rushed down a while ago and asked me if I'd seen a sangria pillow. When I looked blank, he added real slow, 'Sangria-colored pillow.' I thought that was a drink, not a color. I told him I saw it riding off on a whiskey horse with a brandy mane toward a tequila sunset."

"A pool would sure be nicer than the pond. Last time I went for a swim I came up for air, and a cow licked my ear so hard I didn't get the snot out for a week."

I was seriously misled by the cover of this book and the many blogs that had this listed as a Christmas romance. I mean, I guess it was a romance, but I like my Christmas romances with a little heat and this was just eye-rollingly saccharine.

So, this is really three stories. All with equally ridiculous premises. I mean, my saying that is a lot because I regularly read romance novels that are about as far from realistic as sci-fi books set on the moon.

First, we have Griffin Holloway. He owns a ranch with his brothers, but the ranch is short on funds and Griffin decides that to save the land that has been in the family for generations, one of the brothers...has to find and marry a rich woman in the next 6 weeks so they can use her wealth as collateral against the loan. And, of course he manages to do this. He just, finds a woman. Of course, she is hot and wealthy and semi-normal and perfect for him. I just can't even right now.

Then, we have Jamie Johnson. A single teacher who is supposed to be homely and yet she is hit on so often that she has moved to a new town and told everyone that she is married to a man who is in the military and never comes home. She collects Precious Moments and teasets with hand-painted mice on them. I feel like that should be man-repellant enough. But, contrary to man repellant, a mysterious military man named (some male first name) Johnson is left IN HER HOME by the Sheriff while she is away. Y'all, hot military men are now being delivered TO YOUR BED. Where do I sign up for that? Oh, no where? Because it seems creepy and like law enforcement shouldn't do that? Oh, that's right.

Finally, we have Jaxson O'Grady. Who was a fireman and something happened to him (I still do not really know what) and now he lives as a hermit on 5 acres of land. Then, Jaxson sees a car accident where a woman is thrown from a vehicle. She is taken to the hospital but Jaxson then finds her injured dog that he takes care of. Cute. Super sweet. So far I am on board. Then, he takes the dog to the woman at the hospital to find out that she was nearly killed by her boyfriend in some serious domestic violence and was fleeing from him when the accident occurred. Okay, a little less on board because that is pretty heavy for my Christmas mindset. THEN, her crazy ex starts poking around and the hospital just LETS HER GO HOME WITH JAXSON. Like, she is seriously injured, people, and they just plop her in his isolated cabin that I do not think has heat because he is the only one who can keep her safe. The leaps in logic are unfathomable.

All in all, I just couldn't do it. I truly hated the premises. I was disappointed that there were no lit bedroom scenes, there was barely kissing. There was a severe lack of anything really Christmas-y other than it was just a day.

Sorry Ms. Thomas, you are not the author for me.

Side note: this book has SUPER high ratings on GR and Amazon. What is going on with that?!?

Review galley from HQN and NetGalley.

The feeling I got while reading Mistletoe Miracles is why I will read any book Jodi Thomas writes. I read the first few pages and was quickly drawn into the charming and warm novel. I smiled as the Holloways found the solution needed to save their ranch; as the local hermit was thrust into a situation that forced him out of his self-imposed shell; and as fiction turned into reality for the high school drama teacher.

Mistletoe Miracles is fun, emotional and even dramatic in a few parts. I enjoyed it all and recommend it to fans of Jodi Thomas, contemporary romance, and a good story. While Mistletoe Miracles is the seventh book in the Ransom Canyon series it can stand alone. A few supporting characters are back but a reader doesn’t need to have met them before.

Most of Jodi Thomas's books have multiple plot lines and Mistletoe Miracles is no exception. You have Griffin Holloway looking for a bride with money, so he can save his family's ranch.

Jaxon O'Grady is a recluse, living in the middle of nowhere, who witnesses a car accident one night. What happens after that slowly changes his life for the better.

Finally you have Jamie Johnson, a school teacher, who lies about being married to keep unwanted suitors at bay. Jamie comes home from a weekend field trip to find a Mr Johnson using her shower.

This novel offers friendship which turns to romance with some Christmas spirit thrown in. I throughly enjoyed this latest edition of MS Thomas Ransom Canyon series. I would give this book 4 1/2 stars. Thank you NetGalley for a copy of

My first impression on this book was “what the hell”! This guy actually went to someone for help on finding a wealthy woman whom he had no intentions of loving and it just so happens he found one? The whole book was pretty far fetched at the beginning but it did start shaping up towards the end. It ended up being sweet since there was cute romantic gestures and everyone fell in love. Who doesn’t love a love story, no matter how cheesy? It was a cute book but not my favorite from the three that were sent to me.

(This review can be found on my blog All the Ups and Downs.)

I'm not usually a romance person, but the synopsis for Mistletoe Miracles by Jodi Thomas caught my attention. I'm really glad I read Mistletoe Miracles because I absolutely adored this book. In fact, Mistletoe Miracles may have converted me to be a romance reader. It has definitely made me a Jodi Thomas fan for sure.

The pacing for Mistletoe Miracles was spot on. It wasn't a fast paced book, but it wasn't slow paced either. It moved at a nice relaxing pace, and I found myself loving it.

The plot for Mistletoe Miracles is a sweet one. It was interesting to see each couple's relationship blossom. Mallory is on the run from her abusive ex-boyfriend. She ends up in a car crash. Her dog is also injured in the crash. Little does Jax know he has her dog, but once he figures it out, it's the start of something sweet. Griffin needs a rich bride in order to save his working ranch that's been in the family for generations. Sunlan, a ranch girl herself, is just the right woman to fill that position. She's also looking for someone to take her away from her overbearing father. Wyatt is a soldier just looking for a place to rest while on leave. With everyone assuming he's Jamie's husband, he is taken to Jamie's house after he falls asleep and has a small crash. Jamie has been out of town, but when she returns, she's gets the biggest surprise of her life. However, she's been telling everyone she's married even though she's not. Wyatt may just be the (pretend) husband she needs. The reader has the pleasure of reading about each immersive relationship and how each one blossoms in its own way. There are no major plot twists, but Mistletoe Miracles is a book that doesn't need plot twists to be enjoyable. All loose ends are also tied up by the end of the book which I was happy about. I also liked that Mistletoe Miracles can be read as a standalone.

I felt that the world building in Mistletoe Miracles was done very well. Jodi Thomas makes it so easy to feel as if you are one of the characters in her book. She puts you right in the midst of everything that is happening, and it is so easy to lose yourself within each page of the story. Mistletoe Miracles takes place in Texas which made me enjoy the book even more! The world building is so realistic in this novel that I would lose track of time whenever I was reading it.

I loved every character in Mistletoe Miracles. I felt each character was fleshed out substantially, and every character felt like they were an actual real person instead of a character in a book. My favorite characters in this book were Sunlan and Griffin. I loved how they started out a bit distant towards each other, but eventually, they warmed up to one another and came out of their shell, especially Sunlan. Don't get me wrong, I loved the other characters too, but it was Sunlan's and Griffin's relationship that I loved the most. I did enjoy reading about all the other character's relationships as well, and I found them to be very interesting. Each character had something to bring to the table to make Mistletoe Miracles the great read it is.

There aren't many trigger warnings for Mistletoe Miracles. I would classify it was a clean romance. There's no swearing and no steamy scenes. There is some violence although it is not graphic. There is some drinking of alcohol as well as kissing. There's also talk about making love but everything is implied and not described in graphic detail.

Overall, Mistletoe Miracles is a very sweet and refreshing read that will warm even the most hardened hearts. It's got very likable and realistic characters characters, an interesting plot, and fantastic world building. I would definitely recommend Mistletoe Miracles by Jodi Thomas to everyone aged 16+ whether they like romance or not. This is one of those books that everyone should read even if romance isn't their preferred genre.

[I received a copy from @harlequinpublicity team for an honest review]

"He watched her drive away, trying to decide if he'd just signed on for a ride through heaven or hell. Then he realized he didn't really care. He had no plans of getting off."

Mistletoe Miracles by Jodi Thomas is a holiday romance that contains three different stories each with their own happy ending. There is a marriage of convenience story between two people who turn out to be just what the other needs and fit together perfectly. Next is a fake marriage story between a teacher and a military man who only has temporary to offer a girl who has given him a home and peace. Lastly a story about a woman running from an abusive boyfriend and a man hiding from the world who find friendship and more in each others company.

Individually I enjoyed each story. The were heart-warming and full of hope, exactly what you want in a holiday romance. I just wanted more from each couple. I could see myself devouring full length novels about of each one. For me, the back and forth between the different stories hurt the impact of them in the end.

Overall, I enjoyed all the characters and Jodi Thomas' writing and would love to read more of her work in the future.

"He couldn't stop looking at her. Somehow, being near her was as vital as breathing now."

This is the first book I have read in the Ransom Canyon series, but had absolutely no problems following this story. It takes place in the small town of Crossroads, with a main character that has no desire for a love story or romance for themself. For most of the book, it seems like there are three stories that are not connected at all. This was fine, as each plotline was interesting and enjoyable. Near the end there is a bit of an overlap, but otherwise, these are almost like three novellas that occur simultaneously.

I am not going to regurgitate the synopsis for you, but tell you what I thought about this book. As a Christmas story, it was uplifting and just what I love about Christmas Romances where the magic of love and Christmas enable the characters to find true love. The characters in this book are strong. They are realistic, and have feelings and baggage that readers can identify with. It is hard to let go and trust when you have been burned in the past, but Jodi Thomas does a wonderful job developing the stories to the point where it is the only conclusion. It was wonderful watching these very different characters deal with different and interesting situations that brought them to where they were when this book starts. I found myself rooting for them to find their Happily Ever After, and was sad whenever there was a roadblock in their way. As they came together, it was wonderful to see how this community supported and cared for each other. I will definitely have to read more in this series.

I didn't read the summary or the book jacket before diving into this lovely Christmas romance, so I didn't know that I would get three love stories for the price of one. It was sort of a Love Actually feel, three stories running parallel to each other, dipping and twisting together every once in a while. Thomas did a fantastic job of making me care about each and every character (except for the bad guy) and every storyline.

This is the first romance novel that I have read where the leading ladies don't appear until chapter 7. (Actually, one appears in chapter 3 but she is unconscious, so it doesn't count.) I found that a bit unorthodox, but I liked the tone it set. You really get to know the men in this book, and I loved the three Holloway brothers' banter so much! It makes me wonder if Thomas based them off of close friends or family because their hilarity is so vivid. Actually, all of her characters are so full of life and color. Not a single detail or conversation felt cliche or disingenuous.

The reluctant and slow (although, is less than a month really slow?) love that develops between the three couples feels believable. Never was there a moment that I scoffed, 'she wouldn't do that' or' he wouldn't say that.' I was lapping up every detail and so sad whenever I had to take a break from reading to do something else.

My only critique is that there are some typo and type setting issues, at least with the e-book. I hope that those little blunders were caught before this lovely book went off to the printing press. Overall, I really really enjoyed this modern day western romance. I highly recommend it to sad hearts that need a smile, but also to anyone who just loves to feel the glow of new love in their soul.

Not just one endearing story about one couple, but three! All three were deserving of their own story, in my opinion.

Griffin Holloway concludes he needs to marry someone rich in order to save the ranch that has been in his family for five generations; Jaxson O'Grady has been a hermit for nearly two years until he sees a car accident. watches the driver taken off in an ambulance and discovers an injured dog he takes home to help; and, Jamie Johnson arrives home late one night to find a stranger in her bed, which begins a pretend marriage for her and the Army captain who can't believe he good luck during what he thinks will be his last leave before a really dangerous deployment.

If you're looking for great characters you'd like to know more about, inhabiting tales that leave you wanting more, this is the book for you. Perfect for the holidays!

(on Amazon, i didn't show that this is the seventh book? i wonder if that is part of the reason i was a bit confused or feeling misplaced or lost at times??! i do wonder??!) i love Christmas ... love Christmas reads any old time. I love a country written, cowboy romance, look at that cover ... found it at Walmart ... got 4 total Christmas reads and love them all. I have read Jodi Thomas before ... it is kind of like 3 reads at once ... at times it can be a bit confusing to figure out how these 3 will work their lives together and maybe u can figure it all out before i did. (my hubby is similar to that ... meaning he is able to see the ending of a story way before i can, it takes me a bit longer ... are u like that?) either way .. Christmas or Jodi book i might see in the future, i will check out. love it!! must read. ( ;

Mistletoe Miracles is actually 3 little novellas intertwined into one story. The three stories are not really connected and could have been written separately, but I liked this format. I'm not sure I would really say Christmas is a huge part of book, really it could have taken place at anytime of the year. Still, I did enjoy the book and it held up well as a stand alone.

You do have to suspend some disbelief while reading this one. Each love story takes place over a month or so, so there is a lot of insta-love. Out of the three, I liked Jaxon's story the most. His was really sweet and very healing. The Johnsons was cute as well. The one I liked least was Griffin's story as I felt the least connected to the couple. I would recommend this one. It's a fairly clean romance and pretty quick read.

A heartwarming story of three men and three women who find their road to love and happiness in very different ways. Three stories in one but all connected in small ways. Jodi Thomas has a way of making a reader understand her complex characters, why they are who they are and do what they do. Why is Sunlan's father so hard on her, but has that made her the strong woman she is? Can Griff love her but give her the freedom she needs? Can Jaxson heal, move forward in his life and be there for Mallory? I loved Buddy/Charlie's role in their story? Breakfast for two--Jax and Buddy! The "Johnson" story is fun and heartwarming. Loved that Tim O'Grady is brought into the story and asks Mallory for a review when she turns him down! Is Tim's story somewhere down the line? Great book!

Three Couples and their love stories.

Inter-twined and joined in location, three couples find love in the strangest circumstances. Jodi Thomas has presented a unique manner of joining for love. There is mystery, suspense, action and a rollercoaster of emotions throughout this remarkable set of stories told only as Jodi can. There is also humor and a precious protective dog. A 5 star winner!

While this is part of a series it reads like a stand alone. Previous characters are mentioned but not featured. This skips between three different sets of characters as they work their way to a HEA. If you took each one it is the size of a novella. Put together they make a book. Thomas has taken several familiar tropes and made interesting stories with their own unique flavor. I loved the Johnson's - the trope mistaken identity. The Holloway trope a marriage of convince. Last but not least Jaxon O’Grady is the wounded hero who is hiding out. Each set have their own problems and come to their HEA using their own solution. Great Christmas read.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

Once again Jodi Thomas takes you on a journey where love is the end result. There are three stories that all weave in and out of each other. You are taken on three different journeys, but the end result is love, and me wanting more. There are twists and turns that I didn't see coming.
