4.5/5 A really good volume for That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime. Especially after the last 3 were a little weaker.

We finally get to see more of the other demon lords and a lot more info on demon peers (Diablo and Guy Crimson). I’m sure there’s a lot more to come with them so I’m looking forward to that. We’re introduced to 3 more of the demon peers as well; Testarosa, Carrera, and Ultima and they’re a lot of fun.

The highlight for me this volume is we finally wrap up the plot involving Leon and Rimiru’s revenge against him for Shizu. It didn’t at all play out as I expected but I liked it.

The only qualm I have is the first 100 or so pages of this “light” novel were pretty slow. Once the conflict starts though there are a lot of pretty bad ass fights. It’ll be cool if the anime makes it this far though it seams likely season 2 will only cover through volume 7 though I guess they could maybe squeak in 8-9 if they really condense it. Honestly though the anime isn’t nearly as good with so much of the detail and political plotting removed or altered. The story is really more about its world building than anything and it’s hard I think for the anime to convey that.

Still currently my favorite light novel series though they really do read more like episodic epic fantasy.

Leon being redeemed by the story so suddenly... wtf

He was known as the guy that made Shizu suffered, but now suddenly he was actually a good guy and he was just awkward because he let Rimuru punched him in the face??? Never mind the fact that this fucker literally kidnapped children from the other world which made them in risk of dying young??? The narrative just redeemed him because of plot device for the protagonist??? He didn't even said sorry to Shizu or any of his victims???

That's it. I'm done. I enjoyed reading about Rimuru and his followers (especially Diablo. I found him to be the funniest character in this series honestly), but the time travel plot is full of plotholes (which is also admitted by the author) and this habit of the narratives changing everything to suit the protagonist is also getting annoying. I would probably just watch the anime when they adapted the later volume.

This is, in my opinion, a fairly good way to do the whole "time travel" thing without it being a massive deus ex machina device slap in the face. Although one has to suspend their sense of belief when it comes to Hinata (a strong, albeit still, human) travelling thousands of years through Time with Chloe, but eh.

Additionally I can see how people may have an issue with this possibly being a cause to justifiably retcon content that had happened up until now, but I feel this was the only viable way to introduce Chronoa, so each to their own.

Chronoa's qualities are pretty good in terms of female characters, although once more I find it odd that she'd be infatuated with Rimuru just because of Chloe's "iNfLuEnCe", but hey, maybe that's part and parcel of Tensura by now.

This was the most intense arc yet. To be honest, I’m still struggling to understand the mechanics of time leap but hopefully it will be further elaborated upon in the next volume.

Takes a while for the action to get rolling as Rimuru-chan tours his lands and meets new characters.

Hard to say the extent to which this is also the loading time for switching to Japanese (which I hadn't read in years). :- )

An quite improvement to the last volume i might say. It speaks on how Fuze was willing to tell a good narrative story with cohesive structure while not losing it charms and crazy fantastical aspects.

This volume is an eventfull one, with the introductions of the full primordial demons and their familes and there placement in the world, the reveal of chloe aubert as the time travelling hero, the death suddent revival of Hinata Sakaguchi, the introduction on the united eastern empire , and much more.

This volume truly shines when it depicts the interactions with many different factions and characters that placed in the tensure world. For an example i like how fuze handled guy crimson as this "mediator" role as an stupidly op figure while not having him interrupted the ongoing story arc of tempest and lubelias vs the rosso's. I like his interaction with Diablo in this arc , cementing them as this "old friend" and acting like buddy² while not taking much from the main war that is happening near them.

The experimental things he do in this volume also payed off big time because of good introductive narrative and also a good sense of intrigue that he instilled in his characters. For example, he introduced the three primordial sisters in this volume. Each one of them has a distinct personality and motives that set them apart, but also tied things up with their roles as rimuru's subordinate.

I'd also like the conclusion of granbell story arc in this volume. The ending of his character is very much a bittersweet one and might i say that it is better than mariabell's ending from the previous volume. Fuze succeded on telling granbell's character as this tragic figure that lost his hopes after mariabell deaths to secure humankind protection from guy crimson and his demon underlings. This despair sent him to madness and doing such extreme and radicall things such as reviving the hero "chronoa" for replacing his place as humanity saviour.

As much as I liked this volume i might say this is just the beginning of the stupid and wacky madness that is tempest vs the eastern empire war. While this volume satissfied my reading experience , I expected that it will be surpassed by further installment of the novel that will get to the nitty gritty of things.

Overall 4 / 5 stars, While lacking that "oomph" factor still very much recommended and a very good volume overall

Action-filled. New elements of the story introduced. New characters.

This book started off quite slowly - just following Rimuru as he build up and stabilize his nation and his connections. At the second half though, new characters were introduced and these characters are not ones to be trifled with. They are insanely strong thus adding more power to Rimuru's already behemoth-like military power and they even solved a few of his bigger problems too. It's really nice seeing people out of their minds upon learning the new force (and the old) that Rimuru has.

The near end was really action-packed! It required quite the brain power for me to absorb it all though. The author introduced a whole new complexity, adding to the depth of the world and honestly, it was quite a challenge to absorb it all. But nonetheless, it was welcomed! It adds to the wonder of the story as a whole.

I am quite excited what the next book will bring. I am wondering how Rimuru's relationship with Leon and Luminus will progress too. I look forward to reading more of this. On to the next!

Overall it was a good book but it just missed a 5/5 for me. I greatly enjoyed the amount of plot progression in this book compared to the last one. I did not expect so many prominant characters to be present in the final showdown. My only problem is that the ending felt a little flat in execution. We knew that they were setting up a time travelling plot for a while and I was ready for it but the way it was done with the large timeskips of 100s of years felt like it could have been performed better. I did enjoy hearing about alternative timelines where things turned out differently. I really wish they talked more about past Valdora and they present Valdora was shown to be more powerful cause he still feels like a joke despite being one of the most powerful in the verse. The demons were good and I liked when the red one I think showed up for the meeting and ruined the coup. This book really wpuld have benefited from being longer to better explore Chloe's time in the past, would have gotten an easy 5/5 from me then.

What an incredible volume, this gave me chills. I learned that the primordial demons had far more strength than I had realized from the new subordinate of Rimuru that Diablo recruited, on whom I had been waiting for a very long time since the previous volume. Next, I was blown away by what happened in the Grand Cathedral; Chloe's character plot gave me chills, and Shion's character development was fantastic. I can hardly wait for the next volumes in this series; I am so looking forward to this story. This is the first time a story in a light novel has made me this happy, and that's saying something.

This one still deserves 4 stars in the context of the story, but unlike the previous books, it deserves 3 as its own book.
* The introductions made this time seem out of place.
* A lot of harem tropes and a scant few pedophilia jokes appeared for no reason (even if only for a brief moment, it still left a sore taste).
* The villain's motive was never explained, which kind of reminds me of SAO (the worst anime I've ever watched it terms of story).

Overall, I was let down, but I believe that the introductions made in this part would serve the story well in the future because of all the questions left unanswered, so I gave it 4 stars anyway.

This is the eleventh volume of the series and the final in the Western Kingdom arc. Now we move on to check out how things are looking the eastern side of the continent. I loved this volume as they moved away from the world building and threw the characters into some heavy intrigue and fighting. We got to see the intrigue from this arc wrapped up in a nice little bow. If they stopped here I'd be pleased but I am even more excited that there is more to come. This has now moved into my top 3 book series of all time! Bring on more!

Different souls cannot coexist in the same timeline, which causes one to be returned to the past. So every time Chloe returns to the past, is there a new chloe coming in or is it just chronoa?

Also it felt weird to look at gren in a positive light. I spent hours reading volumes after volumes establishing that grenville is a wicked, greedy man... And now somehow he's just an old, awkward guy who became loony after the death of his wife and thinks the world will be over anytime soon if he doesn't protect it from monsters...

😅

I really enjoyed this volume.

I can't believe Humans and Chloe have gone thru that cycle for thousands of years. I wished there was more explanation as to why this time around Rimuru did become a demon lord and has continue to prosper his country. I can't believe Guy tried to intervene with the other Deon lords. I still have questions about him attacking the Council of the west and Rimuru.

Really loved this. Feels like a lot of threads have woven into knots, tying up certain foreshadows from long ago. Ultimately, you get a lot of POV from other characters this time around and all of it is great. I am disappointed that the villain got a ‘redemption’ arc in the end. Excited for more slime goodness.

it’s great

Great plot twist with having Chloe be the hero that sealed veladora and it was actually Hinata in her body getting revenge is even better and something no one could have expected. I can’t wait for all the twist in turns that will happen in future books I can’t wait to catch up.

another slugfest thats boring as hell. I hate fights in light novels like this. honestly they can ruin a great book with pages of them going on about pointless introductions and glazing. Like I know what your name is and I dont care about what your opponents name is there irrelevent to the wider story.

Excellent read

This book was a great culmination of all events in the western nations coming to a head. This book beautifully weaves all the bsckbstories, hopes, and desires of the main characters while glinting at the potential of the newly introduced ones. All in all a fabulous read.

It appears that with the developments of this volume the author has abandoned the concept of "stakes", "tension", or "maybe the hero shouldn't have unlimited power".

Still I enjoy the characters and how they interact so it's still a good read.

An exciting conclusion

Damn it, this was a satisfying and heart-wrenching conclusion to a major arc, wrapping up a number of mysteries and loose threads. Fuze has made an amazing series, while messing with my emotions and wringing my heart.

This novel nicely wraps up a lot of the subplots. I did not expect things to turn out the way they did based on the events that transpired. Really enjoyed the pacing and it shows how the writing has matured throughout the series.

Wonderful

This volume was wonderful. I couldn't stop reading it. I was scared for Hinata for a moment there, but things turned out well. I still love the neck out of Diablo. He's A favorite. I look forward to the next volume.

The final plot is kicking in, but it seems like the majority of the context is used to describe how tens of characters get new skills, but rarely do those skills come into use.

The universe of A Slime keeps growing and getting more complex. He picks up many friends and allies along the way. I love this story.

It was a slow and quite boring start, but the last half turned out more intriguing with fierce duels between characters as expected.
