Do yourself a favor and visit Madrona Island! I have read each one of these books separately and couldn't wait for each new one to come out. I devoured each one. The Guestbook is my all time favorite book. The descriptive writing style of Hurst lets you feel you are there, you can smell the salt air and feel the breeze. They are all heartwarming stories and each ne looks into a different inhabitant of the island. Love, love this series.
Three women, each with their own story of betrayal. Each of the stories take place on the wonderful and magical Madrona Island, each centered on a different woman who has come to the island to restart their lives, each with their own unique angst. The trust issues got a little bit too much as they were always carrying on so long about them. It also had a lot of editorial mistakes which lessens the books flow for me.
Once you visit Madrona Island you’ll wonder why it took you so long to get there & you definitely won’t want to leave! The setting is beautiful, the characters are so real that you want to join them and become a part of their daily lives and the stories are all heartwarming! All it takes is a quick look at the covers and you will be drawn in to the charm of Madrona Island. This is a wonderful compilation of all the books in the series. You’ll be so glad you decided to stop in for a visit!
What a fabulous series by Andrea Hurst. Loved the entire Island & the people who live there. Each book can be read as a stand alone but I read the entire series and loved every minute of it! All of the characters show up and take a part in each other's stories and lives. It's a heart felt story of loss, healing, strength and love. I highly recommend you read the entire series.... you won't be sorry!
Book 1: Madrona Island B&B: the love story of Maggie and John. Book 2 : The Guestbook: The love story of Lily and Ian. Book 3: Tea and Comfort: The love story of Kyla and Luke. Book 4: Island Thyme Cafe: The love story of Jude and Ryan. Meet the people of Madrona Island. Find love and happiness with four couples. Great love story.
Series books are always a favorite with me. I love to see the way the characters develop. In previous books, we see the trials, challenges and overcoming of problems with the support and love of family, friends and that special some one. This book continues and brings Jude and Ryan from the clouds of their past to a bright and shiny future.
If you are a Debbie MacComber fan, you will love Andrea Hurst, too. She tickles my palette with friends and family who love each other and live in wonderful communities. Calgon, take me away...
Enjoyed the trilogy but was frustrated with the number of errors scattered throughout the books. What happened to proofreading? The characters were well thought out but left the reader frustrated at times. Too much detail about food.
You don’t want to read these books hungry. I’d like to know how they all stayed so slim from all the dining and eating everybody does in these stories. Great warmth of the embodiment of friendship and community.
Loved the stories in each book. Loved seeing how everyone's story evolved. Noticed more and more typos in the later books. Perhaps someone didn't have enough time to fully proof things? They were a little distracting, but didn't diminish the storyline at all.
What great stories. The characters are all lovable and personal. The story is well written and carries right along. And no murder mysteries to solve. Very well written, good descriptions of everything. I recommend this series.
