This book wasn’t exactly my cup of tea, unfortunately. Priscilla seemed different from the prior books (more thinking (typically negatively) about others’ appearances) and confronts someone who is lying to her cousin somewhat harshly, which was kind of disappointing. This could be due to the series being written by different authors. It wasn’t as light and fluffy as I expect for a Guidepost mystery, so overall it wasn’t great in my eyes. (If you really enjoy Hallmark Mysteries, then you might like it, but it wasn’t for me.)

Priscilla sees the legendary spectre of the Maiden of the Mist, but she doesn't believe in ghosts. Is it the jealous stalker after Gerald? Trouble making kids? Something else?

Pretty good Scooby Doo type stuff.

It’s fall and Priscilla is finally feeling at home until she see a ghost walking the cliffs by her house. People keep telling her about the Weeping Woman legend but she doesn’t believe in ghost and sets out to prove to people it isn’t a ghost but someone wanting her gone. She befriends a teenage boy who has gotten in the wrong crowd and getting themselves in trouble.

This is the second Martha's Vinyard mystery I've read (I also read #6, Don't Rock The Boat, by Elizabeth Ludwig) and moves the number of Nancy Mehl novels I've read to requiring toes to count on as well as fingers. So far, it's my second favorite of the series.

It does a great job dealing with the characters from previous stories, and a mystery that kept you guessing until Priscilla Latham Grant puts all the pieces together. Great characters, and it keeps you guessing.

One question is if I should compare this to the rest of the series, or to other Nancy Mehl books. Having read two in this series, they are written where to this point it doesn't matter what order you read it in, and there is a voice that carries through the series. If you read this and want to read more Nancy Mehl, I would suggest her Curl Up And Dye and her Ivy Towers series.

I enjoyed Maiden of the Mist since I enjoyed the characters of Tony and his aunt and uncle, and I also liked the "ghostly" plot of a blue-glowing woman who was rumored to have thrown herself off the cliff in Priscilla's yard in 1854 when her husband died in a ship wreck.
The plot has stolen jewels, a mysterious painting and also, Priscilla and Gerald getting closer. I don't want a steamy romance but I DO wish Priscilla would stop wobbling over her feelings for Gerald and just admit he's a good man and she is attracted to him.

I enjoyed this one better than the last one. Sometimes the coincidences are suspicious. The girls go to an art show and see a picture of Priscilla's lighthouse with a women in it. They find out the woman is known as the Maiden of the Mist and supposedly is the ghost of a woman who threw herself off the cliff when she thinks her husband was lost at sea. Priscilla goes home and what does she see? The Ghost. Or is it a ghost. Priscilla solves the mystery with the help of her friends.

There is a back story of a young man new to the island whom Priscilla befriends.

A very entertaining fall mystery. Priscilla Latham Grant is once again at the heart of things in her small Martha's Vineyard community. This time a ghost, an old unsolved mystery, and a troubled teen converge upon her lighthouse haven. It's light-hearted and fun and perfect for the fall/Halloween season. Grab a hot drink and enjoy.

This has been my favorite of the "Mysteries of Martha's Vineyard" series thus far. Highly recommended!

This one wasn't as enjoyable as the the previous two books. I liked that this one took place at Halloween. The ghost story was interesting, and I liked the outcome of that mystery. I didn't like Priscilla as much in this book. She was the same as she was in the first book, and I didn't like her then either. I am looking forward to the next book in the series, though.

I loved this mystery. This is the first I have read in this series. It was able to stand alone. This book was so good that I am wanting to go back and begin the series at the beginning. I loved Priscilla. Actually what's not to love about this book, a mystery, light house, beach, just to name a few. The mystery kept me guessing to the very end. It also has a wonderful inspirational thread.
