First Volume consisted of Chapter 1-87
Second Volume Chapter 88-147

In this Book Ye Xiu progress with his plan. Which loosely revolves around upgrading his weapon. In order to upgrade his weapon he needs some material and for that purpose he sells his services to the top guild. Helping them to improve their record on leaderboard and setting high scores. He also goes through some situations from which he gains allies. On this new server he is currently playing under the identity of lord grim as was told in the previous Vol. So basically no one knows about him being a pro except his close friend Mucheng who also comes to new server under different account to support her friend.

What happens is that everyone in game is shocked from Lord Grim's performance and intellect and knowledge of game and they dont only suspects him of being just another expert. Some with more knowledge of game goes to their higher up with the info on Lord Grim and asking for their help to deal with Lord Grim. When their respective higher ups arrive some gets the clear idea of Lord Grim's true identity after playing against him. So "Herbal Garden" Guild, (the top guilds are supported by their clubs and clubs supports their Pro-Players) make a deal with Lord grim to train their members in return off-course Lord Grim will gets the material he demands. And here he find a gem of a player called Qiao Yifan, who will later play an important part in the story :).

It was a roller coaster ride. With speedy development in plot and characters it was a treat reading it.

Once I picked up this book, I didn't stop reading it. The development, the plot, the characters, everything about this book is amazing. I'm completely hooked, good job to the translators and the authors. Thank you for all your hard work. I once read this at webnovel a few month back. I also followed the manhua and I loved it along with the animation!

The characters are consistent and they don't usually divert from it, especially our favourite main character, Ye Xiu. Unfortunately, the author doesn't expand much about how the fans react when our MC decides to unveil himself after years of obscurity. Nonetheless, the reactions from normal gamers and pro-gamers alike are still entertaining.

Love the anime, the live action series and the novel. I am near the playoffs now and still reading. Chapter 1342 of 1728. about 8-12 hours per 200 chapters, so a very long read. You have to skip some repetitive parts, but overall very worthwhile.

Once you get used to the writing, the books are pretty good to give better insights into the mind's of the non-protagonists (as opposed to what you'd get from watching the donghua). It was a lot of fun to see what went into the guild politics.
