The book ends in 50% of the file and then has another book. An ok reading, nothing special.
He takes her virginity and flees in the middle of the night leaving her alone and gives no explanation. Years later they fucked again and he regrets soon after because he does not want to lose the friendship of her brothers.
She wants it and he is in doubt until near the end.

"“We can’t do that again,” he said slowly. “We shouldn’t have done it at all to begin with. And we’re never going to have sex again, ever.” “Are you serious?” she asked."

"“You know that you’re an idiot, right? You realize I just gave you a second chance, and you’re blowing it so hard.” “Are you seriously asking me to ruin a friendship I’ve had since I was six?"

What happens when your brothers best freind and the man you have had crush on for years comes back to town, the very same man that left his home town of Salem for the day after sleeping with you.
Do you pretend you don't still care for him? Would he even still have any intrest in you?
All questions running through Lily Hammonds head when Cade Moore returns To Salem from Montana.
Questions Lily did not have to wonder because the connection was instantaneous ; but what to do about it? Three years have gone by and the same issues that would have faced them three years ago are still present . Cade is still best freinds with her Brither Ej and Adain and as far as they are concerned Lily is still off limits. Of course that is not the only issues standing in the way. Cade , may be back home and set to work at the local firehouse with her brothers but events that happened in Montana still haunt him.
For Cade he finds himself surprised that he still desires Lily , women have never been an issue for him, no need for monogamy variety has been the spice of of life ; except when it comes to Lily.
Ms Wood has these two fighting the inevitable while delivering a romantic , hot love story and a second chance at romance .
If you enjoy second chance romances , " Hot as Hell" is not to be missed ; Ms wood has you rooting for these two from the start. Don't forget to grab you free prequel "Smolder "before hand .

This was just clearly not for me. The characters are the cliches I loathe the most. Blushing, innocent virgin girl, hopelessly in love with her big brother's best friend. She quivers, turns beet red and looses speech ability when he comes around. She sleeps with him after her bf dumps her, and then the guy is gone without a word. When he comes back years later, she's still the same blushing mess. She never even dated anyone else. The H, of course is a manho, that took her virginity and left her, and he comes back like nothing happened between them. He tells her basically that she's not worth ruining his friendship with her brother, so they can't be together. And she still follows him around like a puppy. Ugh!
Why did I even try this?

This is my first ever Vivian Wood read that I can recall and Damn did I love it. So Mich in fact that I immediately joined the mailing list to get bonus scenes from this book. But, please. Oh PLEASE, say this is not the end and that Wood's plans on turning it into a series. After all there is the marriage and the birth of the baby to look forward to. Let's not forget brother's Elijah and Adrian need their own book as well. Please, I beg with all that is Hot As Hell, don't let this be a standalone!

Man-whore H, nearly virginal, doormat h. This again?

https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Also, this isn't a trigger, but I hate books that end early and then have pages of "bonus content". (This one is 500+ pages but ends at 50%). It upsets the pacing because I have no idea when the book will be ending. And almost without fail, a book with "bonus content" turns out to be a stinker.

Cade and Lily have the hottest story. Cade is a rake. Cade comes from a troubled childhood where he was in and out of the system due to parents who were alcoholics and drug addicts. He considered his true family to be his 2 best friends Elijah and Aiden, along with their dad and little sister Lily. Cade ends up becoming a firefighter like his best friend’s father and moved away for about 3 yrs. Due to a trauma on the job that about broke him, he came back to work with his best friends.
Lily is grown up and is working in a French bakery. When she learns that Cade is back, she realizes she never grew out of her crush on him that she had from childhood. Lily herself is getting over a breakup and Cade is there for her. They start to connect and have feelings for each other but suddenly Cade runs from those feelings which leave Lily feeling like she is hanging by a thread and Cade doesn’t care. They were passionate and because they acted on those feelings, and Cade ran from those feelings, Lily is left feelings ashamed and her heart is broken. Can she open herself back up to her feelings and let Cade back in or will she just choose to permanently let Cade go, forever?

I enjoyed getting to know Cade and Lily. Their love story was heartwarming and Cade’s past really was one that showed how much he had overcome but he still had a lot to still work on. I found the connection between Cade and Lily wonderful and I liked the best friend younger sister storyline awesome. There were some twists in the s tory that had me on the edge of my seat but everything wrapped up nicely. I look forward to reading what Ms. Wood writes next. She always writes the best heroes and heroines.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *****

A reformed rake makes the best husband,

... according to the 19th Century saying anyway, and there’s no one more rakish than the man dubbed the Morningside Manwhore than Cade Charles himself. He grew up in the local foster system and was best friends with Lily’s brother, EJ Hammond. Their father was a fireman, inspiring Cade and his own sons in turn, to become firemen. After that one night hookup with Lily, Cade immediately accepted a posting in Montana, and hasn’t been back since, until a tragedy took out his crew.

It’s been five years since Smolder, the prequel to Hot as Hell, and while Lily’s heart was broken, she’s carried on with life, going to Patisserie school, and now working in a bakery owned by Frenchman, Jean Michael. She’s moved on, mostly, then Cade casually walks into the bakery, looking hotter than the last time she saw him, but she’ll resist him after learning her lesson from last time.

Seeing Lily again has Cade absolutely regretting his behaviour. Hell, he’d regretted it immediately after, because he’d always wanted Lily, despite the warnings from her brothers, and had blown any chances of a dating relationship with her out of the water. Now carrying guilt for the tragedy that bought him home on top of everything else, he knows he’s not good enough for her, but those feelings for her have been smoldering away, and they’re about to turn into a full on wildfire.

I’ve always said that I love Vivian’s bad boys, and while Cade isn’t as deeply tortured as some of her others, he still carries his fair share of baggage, and unbearable guilt. His memories are definitely something that none of us would like to carry around in our heads. While I absolutely recommend this book for lovers of tamed bad boys, and firefighter romances, Hot as Hell lacks the usual depth that Vivian injects into her books, so this time round, it’s 4 stars from me.

I voluntarily received an ARC copy of this book by author for my honest review.

Can you imagine having a crush on your brothers best friend whom is a manwhore.
You watch him go through many many women. Cade and Lily are the characters in this story. Cade had a tough time growing up his father was abusive and a alcoholic. He grew up in foster care. Lily's family was like a family to him.

Lily had a crush on Cade forever. She knew he went through a lot of women, but she still wanted him. After a breakup with a boyfriend Lily finally gets a chance and has a one night stand with Cade. When she wakes up he is gone. Cade chickened out. He knew he was not good enough for Lily. He left Oregon not long after that.

Now it's a few years later and Cade has returned a broken man after a horrible incident in a fire. The feelings he has for Lily returns the second he sees her in the bakery. Lily is now working for a French bakery. She also still has feelings for Cade, but she does not want her heart broken again. Can Cade and Lily dent their attraction or will they once again give into it. And maybe this time these two may get their much deserved HEA.

I loved this story their is just something about a broken hero. I liked Cade and I felt that he grew a lot after the circumstances of the accident while he was in Montana. Lily is a great character too. She may be Shay Cade needs to heal. She never gives up,on him even though she knows he is damaged. I hope their is more stories about Lily's two brothers Aiden and Elijah, but I also will be reading this story again. If you want a broken firefighter who finally may get his dream girl and much deserved HEA and a strong female character whom as also had some loses. This is the story for you.

Always eat dessert first.

While it's not necessary, you should read the prequel first. It makes better reading if you do. You learn the back story of Cade and Lily. How they grew up together, and what happened between them before he left. What happened to Cade and his old crew in Montana. Absolutely makes for better reading. You can find it on Amazon. It's called, Smolder: A Hot As Hell Prequel.
On to Hot As Hell;
Cade is a firefighter who just returned home after being gone for three years. One of the first things he does on getting back is searching out Lily, his best friends little sister. (Read the prequel) Lily has been crushing on Cade since she was a little girl, and she was tagging along with her brother. As she got older her feeling progressed. So when he gets back from Montana and things heat up between them, Cade and Lily's feeling become harder to hide from Lily's brothers. Because of what happened in Montana and his childhood, Cade has a few issues he needs to deal with, and those things make it hard on who he is as a man and his life. Things happen that put his job, his friendship with Lily's brothers and even his relationship with Lily to the test.
Vivian Wood is one of my fav authors and books like this is the reason why. Her writing is captivating and keeps you hooked from the very start. She has a way of putting words together that is absolutely provocative. While she always takes you on a sensual journey, she also touches on real life subjects. Cade is going through serious issues in this book and it takes you through that with him. This book is everything. An amazing way to start 2018. Promise you. I received this book as an arc for an honest review and this is me honest.

**Cader and Lily**

Cade has these 2 best friends Aiden and Elijah, who happen to have a beautiful sister Lily that he has lusted after for years. They grew up together and they are the closest thing to family Cade has. So when Lily and he decide they can not hide their feelings any longer he is terrified that he will lose the only family he has ever known.
Lily has had a crush on Cade since she was 12 years old. Cade ran the last time she told him how she felt so when he comes back to town after 3 years a lot more broken than when he left, she doesn't know if she wants to chance her heart again. When the unexpected happens and they think they will lose each other.... will they face the facts of their love or will they lose it all?

I love this book.!!!! I am ashamed to say this is the first Vivian Wood's that I have finished reading. I just have not ever had the time to finish them when I started. I always ended up with another ARC to read and review. So in a way it was a blessing because this book was an eye opener for that. Thank you for letting me read this book Vivian! This book will make you cry and laugh all in one. The dynamic between all the character is amazing! I fell in love with Cade and Lily! I am really hoping that Aiden and Elijah get books too!

Wow this book was amazing. If you like the brothers best friend/kid sister trope this book is for you!!

Cade and Lily have circled each other pretty much their whole lives without giving into temptation. Neither of Lily's brothers would be OK with their best friend Cade dating their sister. Growing up Cade has made a name for himself as a man whore.

I really liked the character of Cade. He was a flawed man. However his flaws were things that I think could be very relatable. From his horrible childhood to his hero complex to his guilt of losing part of his crew. I really enjoyed reading about the journey he went through in this book. Not just with his relationship with Lily but also family in general and also his work.

Lily was a character that I liked but in another way I had a hard time connecting with. I don't think it's because she was written poorly but I just don't get the whole I can't tell my brother thing because they are friends. Like I said, I really enjoy this trope but personally not having an older sibling, sometimes it seems like more work to keep the secret then just to come clean and get it out in the open.

I would recommend this book to anyone!!! Though you should read Smolder the prequel first.

Vivian Wood is an author I really enjoy, so I was glad to get an advance copy of this book, and what a great book it was to read! Cade was such a wonderful hero, and just the right amount of damaged but with a huge heart, strong work ethic and undying loyalty to his friends. That loyalty issue posed a problem when he and Lily, his best friend's sister, couldn’t stay away from each other. He was also dealing with having lost three crew members while fighting a fire in Montana before he moved back home, as well as issues from his troubled childhood. I adored Cade and Lily together and was glued to their heartfelt, humorous, sexy, touching story from beginning to end. All of these characters are larger than life, complex and endearing and I couldn’t get enough of them, so I’m eagerly anticipating the next hot firefighter's story!

This is my first book by Vivian Wood and I only have one thing to say...why haven't I read her books sooner😱..
I fell in love with Cade and Lily!!!!❤
Poor Cade comes from a troubled childhood. He was in and out of the system because of a alcoholic father and a abused mother. The only family he has are his 2 best friends Elijah and Aiden, along with their dad and little sister Lily. Their father is a firefighter and the 3 boys decide to follow his footsteps. Cade moves away for 3 years. Where he survives a horrific fire that's leaves his broken. He then comes back and joins his best friends at their fire station.
Lily is working at a French bakery. She loves to bake and learn from her boss new ways to bake and decorate pastries. She always had a crush on Cade but she knew he was off limits since he was best friend to her brothers. But one day after a suffering from a horrible breakup Cade is there for her. He takes her back to his apartment to comfort her. But things get hot between them and the next day Cade is gone. Lily feels ashamed and heartbroken, so seeing him again is extremely hard.
They both try to fight their feeling for each other. Cade is dealing with his past which keeps haunting him. Then there's Lily's brothers. What would they think? What would they do?
The road to their happy ending is not easy. There's more than enough bumps to break them.
I really enjoyed the story. I didn't stop until I got to the last word!!!!❤

Good summer/beach read

I like to call these type books lite romance. This is a brothers bestie and sister romance, which by the way I love to read. They are usually a super easy enjoyable read. This is Aiden and Lilly 's story with lite steam and some lite drama as Aiden and both Lilly 's brothers are Hot firefighters. Ok secondary characters. Nothing super deep or difficult to read, like I said Lite, fun romance good summer beach read it rainy day book. Free at time of purchase.

I really love redemption stories. This is subtitled as a second-chance romance but really Cade's on his third and it's more a redemptive story than trying to win back lost love. I enjoyed it more than I thought I would. The synopsis had me thinking this would be at least a solid 3 star review but I was more than impressed by the development of the characters and the sweet, tender ending.

Cade is struggling, to say the very least. His whole life he's been passed off from home to home, family to family, and woman to woman. The last is of his own choosing, though, so that one's all on him. When he has no real anchor life can be a real trial. Except he has the fortune of finding friendship and brotherhood with Elijah, Aiden, Lily, their father, and later his fire crew. They save him in more ways than one. Until he couldn't save them. One moment of tragedy and he's lost his brothers and himself. He goes home and finds more than he anticipated. Looking into the eyes of his biggest regret he's realizing that their fire hasn't yet burned out.

Lily never thought she'd see Cade again, at least not more than a rare visit to her brothers, but there in her cafe she's face-to-face with the man who left her burning, yearning, and confused all those years ago. There's no avoiding the fire burning in his stare, though, and try as they might, they just can't deny what's between them.

Together they find passion, peace, and a glimpse to a future Cade never thought he could have. He didn't think he deserved it, not with his past and his part in the demise of his crew. Lily sees his pain and just like when she was eight, she acknowledges it and then offers him comfort, support, and respite. Hoping that something will finally click, something will help him heal she offers herself. She gives his heart a home, a place that accepts him for all that he is. Her fears of his career cause a small stumble but she's willing to wait for him, she knows he's worth it. Cade slowly begins to accept everything Lily offers him and faces his greatest challenge to their relationship, her brothers.

Watching all of them work their way through pain, frustration, forgiveness, and healing is moving. I was impressed with the elements of drama included in the story. There was angst, yes, but no triangles, no back-stabbing, no subversive plots, no unnecessary complications to decrease the enjoyment of the story or to detract from the depth the story achieved.

Like I said in the beginning, this is more about Cade's redemption. He's saved from his past, his perceived fault in his crew's death, his anger, his loneliness. Lily is the key to that reclamation, her love and acceptance provides the path for him to find liberation. This was much more than a second-chance romance and was well-written, memorable, and a truly good story.

Read and willingly reviewed this ARC from the author.

Like Tow Magnets Drawn Together
Well Vivian Wood has given us, yet another, wonderful treat with Cade, a gorgeous firefighter who is suffering PTSd bouts after a tragedy at a fire and his love and lust for his best friend's little sister, Lily. Now Lily, a pastry chef at the local bakery beside the fire station where her two brothers work is learning to be even better with Jean Michael the owner of the bakery. It would be useful if you read Smoulder as it is the prequel to this story but don't worry if you haven't. Lily's Dad was the fire chief many years ago and he helped Cade who was in the foster system and that's how he met Ej , her brother, and became best friends with him and how he inspired Cade, Ej and his other son to follow him into the fire service too. Unfortunately their Dad died in a fire but the 'boys' still stayed in the service. Cade left 5 years ago and he still feels wrong for having left without saying a word to Lily as he loved her then but knew he couldn't do anything to hurt his relationship with EJ by going out with his sister. Lily has never loved any man other than Cade and is still a virgin. When he walks into the bakery one day unexpectedly she is delighted and you can practically feel the smoldering desire between the two of them as it was so palpable. As they meet more often with him venturing into the bakery often and seeing each other at her brothers flat, Cade realises that his feelings for Lily have developed into so much more and eventually they'give in' to their feelings and the love scene is so sensuous, passionate and , yet, so loving. Simply beautifully composed by Vivian as she can do so well. But once is never enough and the passion continues to build until they cannot deny their feelings for one another but they still haven't told EJ. When things go awry and Lily ends up on the mountain where there is a forest fire, Cade knows that he will do anything to save Lily even to risking his ow life. But will Cade get the chance to save her? Will they both survive and will her brother forgive Cade? I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book. I think this is my favourite of Vivian's books and I love the other ones but the relationship between Cade and Lily is so sweet and , yet, steam heat that I can't help but love it. This is one book that I will be re-reading and will be getting a copy for myself to re-read in the future.

Friends to lovers, brothers’ best friend

Hot As Hell is a friends to lovers romance. Lilly Hammond and Cade Charles pretty much grew up together. Smolder is the prequel to their story which unfolds the backstory of Lilly and Cade’s different backgrounds. Cade’s been an honorary member of the Hammond family from the start. Because his crappy childhood leads him to the foster care program, Mr. Hammond takes it upon himself to make sure Cade is always safe at their home. He’s been best friends with Aiden and Elijah, and Lilly since they’ve taken him under their wings. Of course, Lilly is off limits to Cade’s growing attraction. But Lilly harbors the same growing feelings for Cade, her secret crush she keeps close to her heart.

But one night changes things for Lilly and Cade. It’s because of that night his guilt forces him to move out of town from Salem to Montana. He has also followed the footsteps of the Hammond family and become a firefighter. An unfortunate accident with his Montana team devastates Cade which has left him with survivor’s guilt. Now back in town, he’s joined Aiden and Elijah at the local firehouse, and finally crosses paths with Lilly. She’s grown into a beautiful woman and the spark ignites between them once again. But Lilly is wary of Cade, and although he’s undeniably gorgeous with muscle and tattoo, she can’t forget how heartbroken he left three years ago. Can they pick up where they left behind? And will the brothers always be between the irresistible force Cade and Lilly feel for each other?

Hot As Hell has a great plot and is romantic. Though I like the story, and Lilly and Cade have a definite attraction, I wished there was more sexual tension between them. And I hate the device of the “big misunderstanding”. The fight that ensues leads Lilly to take off on her own. That made her, in my mind, immature and silly. But the last part gets your heart pounding and I like the resolution to Lilly and Cade’s dilemma. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

This was an amazing and beautiful love story of second chances that was so well done; it held my attention and was entertaining, but also was heartwarming and emotional. HOT AS HELL by Vivian Wood is an engaging story with lots of passion that will keep you captivated and glued to the pages of this fascinating storyline. From the very first page, I was spellbound by these fantastically described characters that you will find yourself falling in love with—or not. I really enjoyed reading this book and the momentum of the story keeps you wanting to read more. Lily works at a French bakery in their small town. Cade is a firefighter who is handsome, sexy and hot as hell that you know you will get burned, and he was known as a manwhore in the same small town. His best friend is Lilly’s brother. Lilly has always had a crush on Cade—until one night. When Cade returns to the small town years later, he finds that the fire has never gone out for Lilly. Their attraction for each other seemed problematic at first, but the chemistry between Lilly and Cade grows more potent the more time they spend together—the sex is off-the-chart hot! Will Lilly’s brother find out that his best friend has a thing for his little sister? If her brother finds out, will this destroy their relationship? Will Lilly and Cade be able to have a second chance at love? The scenes are well written, fast-paced and flow smoothly from one scene to the next. The book will pique your interest and draw you in from the beginning to the very end.

Lily’s is working at a backery, happily making macaroons when her all time crush comes back into town. Cade is not just her crush though, he’s her brother’s best friend and completly off limits. Three years ago they had a one night stand and then he was gone, not just from her place but left town and she never heard of him.

Now he’s back and catching up on life with her brothers, and what is a girl supposed to do? Cade’s even more grown up, his job as a firefighter keeping his body in perfect shape and her brothers are so happy to have him back he’s always around.

Lily’s first instict is to run but fate keeps pushing them together and that one night years ago wasn’t enough to put her mind at ease. She wants more and their attraction is only getting stronger.

Cade lost everything on his last job, and now he’s stuck inside the firehouse until a shrink clears him to go out but the only thing that settles him is the one thing he can have. Lily’s untouchable and he can’t risk the only family he’s know, right?

I really enjoyed this one! Lily and Cade have lots of things in common and a easy going relationship but they are both scared of Lily’s brothers and what that might do to their fragile arragement. Hot as Hell is a sweet and steamy book with a dash of drama to keep things moving.
A great combination of second chances and secret affairs that mixes the high stakes of life with a forefighter.

I really hope this stand alone book has some spin offs because I’m dying to see Lily’s brothers go through finding their own girls.

Vivian Wood has a sure fire hit with this book! The chemistry between Lily and Cade is hot as H-E-double hockey sticks in this book about firefighters and a second chance at love. Cade and Lily grew up together since Cade was Lily's brother Elijah's best friend. Her brother Aiden was friends with Cade as well and both brothers are very protective of their sister. The brothers and Cade are all firefighters and the danger of that profession plays a role in the story, in a couple of different ways. Of course, firefighters are in a dangerous profession, but that job can cause scars of depression and guilt when Cade believes he has made a grievous mistake.

The one thing I didn't like, and this is something that I've read in different stories and hated it there as well, is that Cade is a reformed "man whore". As a matter of fact, he estimates that he's "had" over 100 women. All I could think of is the saying that "when you have sex with someone you are sleeping with everyone they've had sex with as well." Poor Lily! This is a personal preference, however, so I can't argue with Ms. Wood for writing the character like this!

I've read several books that Vivian Wood has written and I can sincerely say that I have enjoyed them all. I highly recommend this author and this book for all romance readers. There is a HEA with no cliffhanger, too! I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

SECOND CHANCE ROMANCE THAT SIZZLES

BLAZING HOT read that entices you to keep turning pages with suspense, action, danger/life-threatening moments, humor, rollercoaster emotions, powerful vivid scene descriptions, fiery intense passionate romance, and a heavenly happy ever after that is so deserved.

Cade has come back to his hometown and reunites with his best friends. Haunting memories, and nightmares plague him daily. After years of being away, he still holds a torch for Lily and has shame in his heart for leaving her without a goodbye. When Lily sees Cade again the memories of her one time with him crash into her with fiery desires. Her brothers have always told him that their sister is off limits due to his player status with women. They also keep pushing him on her as a friend not realizing they are igniting a spark that has been dormant for years.

LOVED this thrilling story and all the characters who are certainly praiseworthy. The backstories are fabulous and help you understand and feel true empathy for the characters. The romance between Lily and Cade, of course, is a bit rocky at first, but they are certainly perfect for each other. If you treasure second chances at romance this is definitely a fantastic book for your library. I found this to be a most entertaining/gratifying read and loved it so much {I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy.} Without reservations, I recommend this read.
