About the author

Kahlil Gibran (Arabic: جبران خليل جبران ) was a Lebanese-American artist, poet, and writer.
Born in the town of Bsharri in modern-day Lebanon (then part of Ottoman Mount Lebanon), as a young man he emigrated with his family to the United States where he studied art and began his literary career. In the Arab world, Gibran is regarded as a literary and political rebel. His romantic style was at the heart of a renaissance in modern Arabic literature, especially prose poetry, breaking away from the classical school. In Lebanon, he is still celebrated as a literary hero.
He is chiefly known in the English-speaking world for his 1923 book The Prophet, an early example of inspirational fiction including a series of philosophical essays written in poetic English prose. The book sold well despite a cool critical reception, gaining popularity in the 1930s and again, especially in the 1960s counterculture.
Gibran is the third best-selling poet of all time, behind Shakespeare and Lao-Tzu.

رائع الإنسان الذي يعرف متى يتكلم ومتى يصمت لكي لا يندم بالحالتين وفي أنواع من الصمت اعتبره مذلة وخنوع لاننا عبر السنوات الماضية لم نعط حرية الرأي من البيت الذي ترعرعنا فيه إلى المدرسة إلى حياتنا العملية وانخراطنا في مجتمع لايبالي بالانسان نفسه فما بالك برأيه وهكذا تعلمنا أن نصمت نصمت ونصمت

الكاتب والأديب الكبير جبران ..

في هذا الكتاب .. أعطاني رؤية أفقية لكتاباته وأسلوبه وطريقة تحليله ونظرته تجاه العالم بشكل كامل ..

هو عبارة عن مجموعة قصاصات لأروع ما كتب جبران في الكثير من الفنون ..

رائع .. لكنه يعطيك رؤية مقتضبة لا تعطيك التصور الكامل .. لا أحبذ حقاً مثل هذه الكتب :

أروع ما كتب ابن القيم ..

ماذا قال علي ابن حزم في الحب ..

رأي ابن تيمية في الجامية ..

وغيرها مما يقتص من الكتب ويعطيك رؤية قاصرة لم يرد الكاتب أبداً إيصالها ..

الكاتب حين يكتب عن نقطة معينة .. في مكان معيّن .. يريد أن تصل الفكرة بشكل كامل إلى ذهن القارئ .. اقتصاصها وأخذ جزء منها ربما يسلبها المعنى الكامل المراد إيصاله ..

لمن أراد أن يعرف طريقة جبران في الكتابة ورؤيته تجاه بعض الأمور .. يقرأ الكتاب ..

مع أنني أؤيد أن يشتري أحد كتب جبران .. سيكون أفضل بلا شك ..

فجبران يملك الكثير و الكثير

اسم وجوده على غلاف أي كتاب يكفي لشرائه..
عنوان الكتاب يكفي جدا لتلخيص ما فيه..
حقا أنها "روائع" جبران..
أنصح فيه وبشدة لعشاق الأدب

الحروف تنساب منه انسيابا لم أراه عند احدا غيره.
فلسفته متفرده وبها كم كبير جدًا من الصحه.
رائع جدًا، أكاد اصبح كيان واحد مع كتاباته.
أنصح به ١٠٠/١٠٠، أنسان سابق لعصره بطريقة تتجلى بها العبقرية.

Too much of anything is not good and it's the same with book. Trying to read 11 books in one is not a bright idea. You will start to sense the repetition in the author style of writing and soon you lose sense of meaning of any word ( there are too many over used words such as Love , Truth , Solitude , Soul , etc. )
However , I loved that they featured some of his drawing I think that's very original I'm not sure if the other copies do have it .

It's a big book, I honestly skipped/skimmed the ones I already read in Arabic but I would defiantly go back to it for more of Gibran

It is in simple language, but too philosophic, that echoes the sadness in the life of the author perhaps. The simple philosophies like ' We are all beggars at the gate of the temple, and each one of us receive his share of the bounty of the King when he enters the temple, and when he goes out. But we are all jealous of one another, which is a way of belittling the King' are easier to understand; but as some one noted in his comment, too much at one gulp is not possible. This needs one more read to understand it in full.

جَميل حرفكَ النثري الذي ألهبت بهِ مليون شاعر . .
قوية تلك الغربة التي أنطقتكِ كاتباً للوجع . .
دافئ ذلك الوطن الكامن فِي أحشاء حرفكَ جُبران . .
لطالما أحببتُ شعراء المنفى، والمهجر . . لديهم ذلك الحس السماوي، وكأنهم أنبياء في وحيهم
غير أن ما يأتيهم هو شيطان الكتابة، وليس جبريل . .

أعجبني أول الكتاب، وأكثر ما أوجعني هي الترجمة الركيكية لكتاباته الإنجليزية
وأكثر ما أثار حفيظتي كثرة الأخطاء الإملائية، واللغوية في الكتاب . .

هناك اختيارات موفقه لنصوص جبران و ليست الكل
لا اعلم بعض النصوص تجد جبران احساسه يفوق النص و كأنه يحاكي بأعينه , و البعض الاخر خالي من الاحساس ومن جبران ايضاً !
