Will defied history and saved the Alamo. However, before the celebration even gets started, proof of a Comanche uprising the likes of which have never been seen before force Will to scramble for a solution to keep the frontier from going up in flames. This time, he doesn't know what the future holds.
But he might be able to find an invention to give his troops a fighting chance, assuming there's enough time and his enemies don't kill him or remove him from command.
A DMG. Western Adventure Based on Actual Events (TLSRSB. - 2) /The Comanche Wars
DMG. has penned the second novel in the Lone Star Reloaded series. After the Alamo the change that occurred allowed the people of the Republic of Texas to accomplish many new programs and to spread across the Texas plains. The first step was to abolish slavery. The second step was to get the different tribal sections to come together and start the Comanche Empire. This is an excel l ent read for the genre.....DEHS
While the first half of the book only had a couple of errors in it, I feel like the editing of the second half was rushed as a sizable amount of errors popped up. Errors aside, I have enjoyed reading this series so far and plan to read book three next. It's always a pleasure to get lost in a well thought out alternate universe where the flow of changes to history play out in a logical fashion. I recommend this series.
That was a great read and the story and plot is well written and paced. There is again lots to get your teeth into and have you searching the history books.
I like all the characters as they are thoughtfully written, even the ones you just have to dislike, Collinworth anyone?
I’m not sure about the epilogue quite a few errors in there, but it does leave you thinking ooooo what’s this mean for the next in the series....of to get now 😄
Excellent continuation of the alternate history of Texas in the Reloaded series.
I got caught in the story and couldn't go to sleep until I finished it. Drew McGunn does a masterful job of showing how a 21st century soldier's ideals both conflict and mesh with the times from the founding of Texas. I can hardly wait for the next book in the series.
Drew McGunn continues with the story of Texas in this alternate history giving us his take on what might have been with the years following their successful defeat of Santa Anna without the losses at Goliad and the Alamo! Good yarn! Looking forward to the next chapter!
Things seem to be working it for "Will". But he does not use his future knowledge as much as he could. Despite that, it is a very good read. I actually did a search for some of the lesser characters. Mr. McGinnis know his Texas history..
This was a great story. The second on in the series which is on a different future of Texas. The author develops the main characters as well as a great storyline in this book.
Second book is just as good as the first if not better. The last part a glimpse at the future of Texas just makes my glad book three out already. Love it when I find a great new series.
This is just a good series, the people are believable and they act reasonable. The action is good, I like how they are doing the "new country/finance" dance. They are doing it right.
These are fun alternate history books. The main character from Forget the Alamo is still in the body of William Travis and is making a nice go of it. If you enjoyed the first book you will also enjoy this book. I will be picking up the third book in the series as well. #altenratehistory #timetravel
This book is for the reader who loves the video games where you build a nation and how to do it. Still some action. Ending good too. Modern day Texas and how things turned out.
I thought it was a good book. The writing has definitely approved, although I think that better breaks between scenes are needed, as some time skips or scene changes are not laid out clearly. Overall 3.5 stars
Another delightful book in the series. The quality of writing has not diminished and there's plenty of plot movement and action here. We're also moving further and further away from our timeline so our hero needs to rely more on his wits than his recalled history of Texas. In this book, he brings peace south of the Red River and ends with planning a show of force all the way to El Paso.
