From award-winning Amazon best-selling author Alison Naomi Holt comes the second installment of the thrilling Alex Wolfe Mysteries.
In the second book of the Alex Wolfe Mystery Series, Mafia Don Gianina Angelino asks Tucson police Detective Alexandra Wolfe to investigate a stabbing.
★Off the record★
Detective Eric Langstrom warns Alex to stay away from his case. Might as well wave a red flag in front of a bull.

Great series! 4.5stars -- this series is getting increasingly better in both the storytelling and plot twists because there's never a dull moment. Highly recommended to everyone!
I don't really care much about the main character. Isn't it me but why I feel like I need another spin-off about Kate and Gia. They are the only two characters that perform with their unique characteristic style in the book. (Kate and Gia would make a great couple, I'm so sure of it!)
P.S: Thanks for ruining my mood because of the moment where the main character (sort of) wets herself after sharing her eye-contact with the male suspect. I mean, well, please correct me if I read in wrong way (I hope).
I read the first book, Credo's Hope I think a year ago...and was very impressed. So when book two was offered to me, I jumped at the chance. It doesn't disappoint.
Alex Wolfe, detective is back...and NOT staying out of trouble, thought it's not her fault. Really. LOL
Again, it's suspenseful, full of cop protocol, and funny!
The suspense: Two cases going here. Two missing kids and a missing boyfriend with a handsome rodeo clown in the middle of it. Gia, the Italian Mafia Don is back and this time with a niece wanted for murder. Enter a molestation scandal, a dirty cop, and late night chases through seedy neighborhoods. And Alex is really toeing the line...how much does she report to Gia and how much does she withhold from her unit?
Credo's Legacy is the second installment of the Alex Wolfe Mystery Series. The mysteries in this series are really well done. The clues unfold well and they always make sense at the end. Not only are the mysteries good but this book has plenty of excitement. Alex is always up to something that just keeps you turning the pages. And on top of all that, these books also have a light humor to them that makes it so the crimes never get too dark. The book is fast paced, witty, with some very heavy subject matter. The humor is well placed and overall I thoroughly enjoyed the debut to the series. If you are a mystery fan, and enjoy good characters, this is definitely worth the read.
I received a review copy and freely leave this honest review.
I just finished listening to an audio version of this book. It was gifted to me from the author through Story Origin. And, wow! What a trip. Loved it. A police woman we'd all love to know. She loves dogs and horses. She has great, and strange, friends. She is kind to most. She's always getting into trouble. She makes me laugh. She has great intuition. I see there are more books in this Alex Wolfe mystery series. Yea! I will be reading them! The narrator did a wonderful job presenting this story. She has a good range of voices. A couple were just simular enough that I got confused as to who was talking. But all in all, I enjoyed listening to her. 5 stars for her, too.
Alex has managed to keep out of trouble for a whole 3 month!!! Soon though Det. Alex Wolfe finds herself in another off the books crime to solve and save an 11 year old girl from a life in jail. So she’s helping Gia find Shelly ( the 11 yo) before the detectives who’s running the case does. Again the MC are great. The whole novel is just very good. Well written and keeps you held in suspense the whole time. This is a book is very worth the read. I would totally recommend this book, as well as the rest of the series. I know I’m looking forward to the next one 😉
Credo's Legacy (Alex Wolfe Mysteries Book 2), my second well-written & enjoyable detective fiction read by author Alison Naomi Holt, a captivating tale with unexpected twists & turns, always keeping the reader engaged and guessing until the book’s end. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading Credo's Fire (Alex Wolfe Mysteries Book 3) next. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
This is the second book it this series and it is just as good as the first one. There is humor, back sassing, burning marijuana, and a cop not following the rules. It all comes together in unexpected ways and makes for a terrific read. I recommend this book to all readers that like a kick ass detective with a bit of an attitude. Not much gets past Alex!
This book was even better than the first! Some brilliant laugh out loud moments amongst the mayhem Alex creates. Alex gets involved with Gia again in having to find a girl who could be a niece. But to complicate things she killed her foster father. Then there is her official case of children missing from a messy divorce with rodeos thrown in the mix and this is a helluva ride.
Fun, engrossing mystery. Detective Alex Wolfe is like seeing a car accident; no matter how bad it’s going to turn out, you just can’t look away! Her partner, Casey, and best friend, Megan, are perfect foils for Alex. Realistic dialogue and good plot. I couldn’t put it down.
A well handled story about childhood abuse. Alex is very protective and sympathetic to the child involved. She does investigate thoroughly with and in spite of over enthusiastic friends. I do recommend the series.
Alex Wolfe is a character you will never forget and who you can't help but adore. The stories are just so well written and greatly paced you won't stop reading til the end. Expect to laugh your ass off, cry and everything in between!
Credo's Legacy will have you laughing and trying to out-think Alex, Megan, and Casey as they follow the evidence to a surprising finish. Fast paced and hard to put down. A fun read!
Well, this has just become one of my favorite books in the last couple of years! Totally love it. Love the ground work and the action in Tucson. The characters are out of this work and most are certifiable. From the moment I picked it up to the time I put it down I was between stitches and tears. There is a great deal I would like to point out and to mention but I can't. They would be spoilers! Just know that in my humble opinion, you are totally nuts if you don't grab this book and sit down and start reading ASAP. And now, there are other Holt books I must go and read! Love it.
I’ve read all 6 books in this series multiple times & just love them. Alex is the quirky detective who always tries to do the right thing including not putting up with corruption in the ranks.
Book 2 is my favorite. I adore Shelly. She is a delight.
Gia, Kate, & Megan get a lot of page time which just makes the story that much better.
This is a great cast of characters and I never get tired of rereading them.

Occasionally, the second book in a series doesn't even come close to the first - this is definitely not one of those books. "Credo's Legacy" packs just as much punch as "Credo's Hope," maybe even more so! I'm not much of a suspense junkie, but I decided to give this series a chance because hey, we all need something different now and again, and I have never regretted picking up this book. Alex is still the tough chick, passionate about her work and finding the truth in every situation, no matter how much trouble she gets into because of it. And boy does she get into a lot of trouble.
While it is the story that keeps me reading, it's the characters that draw me in, in the first place. And the Alex Wolfe series boasts a menagerie of excellent characters, and equally wonderful character interaction. There are no extra, useless scenes. Even in the moments when it seems like Alex is just having fun with her friends, she's using them to help sort through a few extra details in the case, or they're helping her solve a problem in her life. Alex's friends and coworkers help with the pacing of the book, as well as add in a light element. Alex Wolfe's life can be dark and gritty, especially working on the cases she does, but time spent with her friends gives the reader a few bright moments in the dark.
This story had me hooked from page one. And even better than that, it had me guessing until the very last page. The mystery played its part, I didn't know why the villain characters did what they did, and I had to keep reading to find out. I cared about Alex, Shelley, Gia, and more. The ending was definitely a good one, I felt like I needed so much more. I had to know Alex and the crew would get their happy endings, that even though some of these characters suffered so badly, things would be all sunshine and puppy dogs. I guess I'll just have to tune in for the next book - I hope there will be a next book!
Cover Loving: Good cover. The fiery-ness of it really suits Alex's personality and drive in this novel. And the vague heart shape is perfect, considering Alex's huge heart. Gruff personality sometimes, but huge heart.
Recommendation: Definitely check out "Credo's Legacy," and it's predecessor, "Credo's Hope." I loved both of these, and they really are excellent mystery/suspense novels. There is just so much I love about these books.
Final Rating: FIVE out of FIVE (5/5). Another excellent Alex Wolfe book by Alison Holt. I really love this series, be sure to pick up your copy of "Credo's Hope" and "Credo's Legacy!"
A child is accused of murder and the detective in charge of the case doesn't seem to want to find the truth. So the grandmother Mafia Don asks Detective Alex Wolfe to find her granddaughter and find the truth no matter what it is. This is a great series and look forward to reading more. I received this book for a honest review.
The author knows how to make her characters come alive. This story is no exception. You want to just step into the book and introduce yourself to Alex Wolfe. The author paints the contrasts for us which highlight Alex's life. Some cops consider her a screwup, some really appreciate her work ethic and thought process.
The story moves through very routine police work, then takes a fast dive into the rodeo world, and action that keeps you involved.
This is a very readable book, particularly if you like your heroes with a different mind set than the average.
I am really enjoying this series. Alex is a very colorful and likable character. Kate,Casey,Megan, and Gia are very interesting and likable all these characters work well together. Great book thanks
