Alexandra Wolfe has been trying to stay out of trouble. Honest! But with budget cuts being what they are, Alex and Casey find themselves putting on a uniform twice a month to help out the officers on the street. The ladies are right in the middle of rescuing an errant emu when their sergeant, Kate Brannigan tells them to meet her at the Rillito Race Track. There’s been a fire in one of the barns and a body has been discovered buried in a shallow grave. The tricky part comes when Alex discovers that the barn belongs to her mafiosa friend, Gianina Angelino. Tightrope walking is one of Alex’s specialties and when she begins digging deeper into the cause of the fire and Gia’s activities, well, let’s just say her balancing act is about to be tested to the limit.
Author of Sapphic Romance, Sapphic Fantasy Fiction, mystery, and more. Through my storytelling, I create fierce, relatable female warriors who confront life's challenges with courage and tenacity. Journey with me. We won’t tell...
Amazing series! Still very good continuous storytelling & plot twists with the same funny characters plus others on a need to know as the storyline plays out. Highly recommended to everyone!
This one is my favorite one out of all three so far. I love having two different mysteries to try and solve by the end of the book. Ok Alison get that fourth one written fast
I had to reread the first two books of this series, finally found them on the my cloud, they were on my first e-reader before it died. I have now read the whole series and I'm hooked again. If you ever had a cheerful bumbling friend that you could kill as often as You what to hug her, this series is for you.It is a mystery, cozy perhaps, about a police detective who is quirky herself that trouble seems to find her, when her friend isn't getting her into scrapes, her Sgt. Isn't putting her into time out and her Mafia Boss friend isn't asking for help, she is trying to be a good cop like her partner. If you like funny, quricky, rollercoaster ride mystery this series is for you. I Loved them, they are staying on my new reader and I am holding the 5th Star hostage until the is a 5th and 6th Story. I'm kidding about the star but, please I want another book or five!!👵😁💓
This is the 3rd book in the Alex Wolfe Mysteries and it’s intense. There’s a Fire in Gia’s Barn and then they find a mysterious body buried there. Then there’s Mr. Myung, who is an expert in martial arts trying to find his granddaughter. Then there is Alex and Casey’s friend Marcos whose boyfriend is arrested for allegedly raping a woman, and if that’s not enough there's a mob war going on. So much is going on but it’s all worked together and it just flows really well. I love this series it’s well written and you never know what’s going to happen next. There’s even emu to wrangle. I highly recommend the series and suggest starting with Credo’s Hope.
This is book 3. I stumbled across this series because I think the name sounds so cool “Credo”. Anyway the book content is more so. Alex is fun to read about and the mysteries just hold my attention thru out the book. Throw in Kate, Casey, Meagan and Gia and it’s off to the races for me. I’m hooked on these characters and I have binge read the first 3 books already. Action, mystery and comedy. The author has done an excellent job of blending all three to make these books appeal to me. I most definitely recommend this series without even reading the next 4 book because I know they are well written and the seamlessly flow. Great job Ms Holt. Thanks.
Alex does not disappoint. Alex is back, snarky as ever. Anyone with a gnome on their shoulder leading them into the right thing at all times is going to be that way. Alex has her own unique style, which means she's always treading a very fine line. The author does a great job revealing more about Alex, her work and those around her.
There's a cliff hangar at the end, but it's the kind for the reader to write the end of the story. Given the earlier discussions, it's not hard to imagine which way Alex will go.
If you love slightly offbeat cop mysteries this one hits the sweet spot. Actually read all the Alex Wolfe novels. They are all good.
Credo's Fire (Alex Wolfe Mysteries Book 3), my third well-written & enjoyable detective fiction read by author Alison Naomi Holt, a captivating tale with unexpected twists & turns, always keeping the reader engaged and guessing until the book’s end. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading Credo's Bones (Alex Wolfe Mysteries Book 4) when I get it. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
Credo's Fire (Alex Wolfe Mysteries Book 3) written by Alison Naomi Holt is wonderful author who brings her experience to her novels. Who better than to write about a fire, a buried body, and perhaps a murder than a retired police woman. This is the first novel that I read Alison Naomi Holt and I could not have been more enthralled than this novel by Holt. I received this novel from StoryOrigin and I look forward to more novels by Holt.
Credo's Fire is the third book in the Alex Wolfe Mysteries series written by Alison Naomi Holt. I have now read the whole series and I'm hooked. I love how this book has two different mysteries to try and solve by the end of the book. So much is going on but it’s all worked together and it just flows really well. I do recommend you start with the first one for the whole experience. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
What can I say? Alex ,along with her partner and boss, get involved in not one, but two complex cases. A body found in burnt out stables belonging to Gia and a gay friend of theirs is accused of raping a woman. Another superb read with the humour and rebellious streak of Alex adding that little bit extra that makes it worthwhile.
When there is a fire out at the racetrack the barn that has been burned belongs to Alex's friend Mafia Leader Gia when a body is found there is questions. But when they find that it might be connected to a human trafficing ring Alex doesn't believe it's Gia but someone trying to set her up. Another great in this series I can't wait to read more.
This storyline was as compulsive reading as the first two books - can’t wait to read the next one. The author writes great plot lines that are serious but she also provides light relief along the way.
Good book. My only complaint is that the author seems to have forgotten what she named one of the characters. When he first shows up his name is Rodolfo. Later in the book it's Adolfo.
A good series with great characters and plots that keep the story going right to the last page with lots of twists and turns. Next chapter already in my library.
This is the third book in the Credo series featuring Detective Alex Wolfe. This one didn't disappoint. Each one has held me captive to the end with humor and intrigue.
