Was born in England and educated in Manchester and at Cambridge University, where he read history. Australia has been home for over fifty years and he lives in marvellous Melbourne, where he is now living his dream of being a published writer.
Most of Barry’s career has been in HR management and for 20 years before retirement he ran his own consulting business, focusing on turning around toxic management teams. Since retiring he has completed a doctorate focused on “How I want to live and work in what's left of my life” and over the past 10 years he has pursued dreams emanating from that-such as, crossing Siberia, touring Moorish Spain, finding his Manchester Regiment, Grandad's grave at Gallipoli, crossing USA by train and camp touring around Australia, carrying out research for and selling his Kimberley Trilogy of historical novels, in pubs and on outdoor markets from Cooktown to Broome and back.
