Reunite with Navan and Riley in Renegades, the heartpounding third book of the bestselling Hotbloods series.
*Please be aware there are some tiny hints at the story so beware before reading further.*
And so I did It I reunited with the crew of Navan and Riley! What a jaw dropping, page turning adventure this book turned out to be. I was so excited to read this new book that brings Navan and Riley back together. Trying to fit in Riley endured painful after painful training sessions. Through it all Navan and Riley grow closer and closer in their relationship with each other and with the queen. However, things quickly go from good, to bad, to worse in the blink of an eye. The novel leads you to believe that the Queen really isn’t that much different than her sister? And the outcome could far worse than they expected.
Cover Adorn, Cover adorn! Yes, I love the cover to this book it tells me so much just by looking at it.
I recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a different type of stories about vampires.

I am really enjoying this series. I liked this book much more than the previous book. So far this series is in the mid-range for me. It's not spectacular, but it isn't bad.
I am really liking the way that the plot is going in the series. In Renegades, more things are happening and the storyline is constantly moving forward. I think that perhaps the pacing could use work, though not really in the way you would think. The pacing works in this book, but I feel that more should be happening. Like combining two books from this series into one would totally fix things. The books in this series are very fast-paced, which isn't a bad thing. I think that it may just be my preference. I don't like the plot to drag on in a book, but when things are too fast-paced things can start to lose emotion and sometimes things become unrealistic. I still think that the premise of this series is very good. I like the originality.
I am liking the character development for Riley. She seems to be growing and learning and trying to do everything that she can to save Earth and prevent anything from happening to her parents. The other characters don't feel like they have a lot of growth. They feel like they are staying the same. Navan has minimal growth. In the first book he was definitely robotic so that has changed. He isn't emotionless now, but I still wish that he felt more real. Bashrik, Angie, and Lauren also feel like they are staying the same. I would like to see more emotion where they are concerned. Something from their past that defines them or something happening now that would display a powerful characteristic. Anything. If I am being honest, I just don't feel any emotional attachment to these characters. Which is a shame because they have a lot of potential. The author needs to find a way to make me care about the characters instead of just being entertained by the story.
The world-building is about the same in this book as in Coldbloods. The characters are still on Vysanthe. The world-building isn't necessarily atmospheric, but there are enough details to get the general idea of places and situations. To me, it felt like being told a story instead of being immersed inside of it. The difference between being in a character's shoes and hearing about their journey. I personally like a plethora of details while reading a book, but I think that most people would be okay with the world-building in this book.
The romance between Riley and Navan is cute. I think that is the best way to describe it. It doesn't feel all consuming the way that I was hoping it would. They do finally become intimate in this book, but it was a little disappointing to me. I wasn't feeling it. I think that their romance could be so much more. I don't feel like I care enough about it. It has potential to be incredible, but there isn't enough emotion to make things feel real. I like the emerging romance between Bashrik and Angie. Not much has happened thus far, but at least it is entertaining. I am rooting for them. And I am hoping that the author can wiggle in some more emotion with Riley and Navan. I so want to love their romance, but it isn't doing it for me yet. -sigh-
Overall, this is an entertaining read in a series that has a lot of potential. Even though there are many things that I think could be improved in this series, I am still reading it. I am still interested and that has to mean something. I definitely think that this series is worth reading. If you enjoy fast-paced paranormal stories then I think you'd enjoy this.
Much improvement on the last installment this one flowed a lot better and had a more detailed plot.
There were a few too many convenient moments when characters got into a sticky situation along with some overall silly scenarios, and also it was mad how they were always able to talk down Queen Brisha. The romance was kind of sweet in this one although the climax was a bit of a letdown but the interesting thing was the budding relationship between Bashrik and Angie.
Overall a good quick read enough for me to want to carry on the series.
Story is interesting but as much as I love a nice romance I felt it the romance was the main plot and not the two twin queens. Also when the romance did finally happen as in the good stuff it was kinda pg rated. However i am interested to see how this story will play out if there will be war be it internal or interplanetary. But again I would love the book to be much longer. I would buy the paperback but nearly £10.00 for a book that 2 hours to read, nowhere near long enough. Need a lot more back story, character , story development. Maybe chapters from other characters pov etc.
Book #3 is really starting to get in depth with the Vysathians and their society.
I’m Renegades, Navan and Riley really realize their love for one another. I’m always a sucker for a good love story!
There are many trials and tribulations that happen and it keeps you on the edge of your seats! This book is definitely a build up to what’s about to go down on their planet.
Orion and Pandora!? Ack!
I can’t decide if I like Queen Brisha or not. Sometimes she seems so kind and others very cruel. Is that just the way of royalty there?
As usual I will be waiting for book 4 to come out in March! Yet another great series from Bella Forrest! Bravo!
Another great book from Bella Forrest. I am totally in love with this series. Did not even want to put the book down. Our heroes and heroines are in the Queen Brisha’s side of the Vysanthe. Riley is being trained alongside the other coldbloods trainees, performing better than expecting. But it’s not the training they are worried about, it’s the deadlines which are approaching fast and more than their own lives are on the line here. This side of Vysanthe appears to be friendlier than the other side. But appearances can be deceiving. Also, what’s with the friendly and sometimes romantic gifts from Queen Brisha? Is she just being friendly or she has other motives.
Was really close to giving this book a 5 star rating; I had been falling in love with it more and more as it went on, tearing through the pages. The reason, however, that it got 4 stars instead is that right at the end, during the last crisis, I realised how much back and forth there was in their problems and interactions with Brisha. Whenever there was an issue for the group, they would always run. The amount of running in the book is just a bit boring really. I feel there definitely could be more of a plot woven in than just running.... Other than this, it is a great book which's plot continues to keep you enthralled and attached to the story continually.
When you try to save your home planet, not everything coming out right. Light years away from home on a cold planet of vampires , can human woman help stop a raise of vampires from finding earth? Will friendlys help to stop 2 crazy queen from destroying 2 planets? As cold blood Brothers help human women betray their queens to stop more death, hearts start to warm.
I honestly am so irritated with these Queens! How absolutely narcissistic can one get? Their self absorption is unreal. I feel terrible for Riley, Angie, and Lauren. Not only are they out of their element, but they are dealing with very unstable and selfish aliens who sit on their high horses like they are Gods and can decide other species fates.
Bella is a stellar author, with a devious mind. Her stories are deep and vicious. I look forward to the next in the series.
Every single one of her books has been extraordinary . If you could give more than five stars , I would do at least a thousand stars if not more . You will certainly not be disappointed with any of her books . I often wonder how in the world can thin author write so many books of such high caliber over and over again . She must have a clone helping her out.
I don't know how Bella Forrest does it but this book had me hooked. Bella writes these amazing stories that leave you fascinated and engrossed. You are left with cliffhangers that have you guessing everything you thought and dreading the wait till the next book. I can't wait to find out what's next for Navan and Riley.
I listened to this series on audiobook and have finished book 3 but now there are no more on audio. Gutted about this as I can listen to many books and carry on doing day to day things at the same time. This is an amazing series of books and I thoroughly enjoyed them. They are gripping, have a fantastic plot and always leaves you wanting more. Please get them all on Audiobooks!!!!
These story's are fantastic, my 12 year old son also loves them, though there is an adult scene its done very tasteful. Lots of excitement and brilliant characters.
This is an engaging series that keeps getting better. This author reels you in little by little till you cannot wait to read the last page of the book even if it is midnight.
Loads of action, a pinch of comedy, a smidgen of romance an Mix well for another great series by Bella!!! This is one of 3 ongoing series I’m reading, and each series, each book is better than the last!
Just when I was thinking maybe Queen Brian's wasn't so bad. And Pandora, Pandora, Pandora....smh. I enjoyed getting to know more about Riley's friends in this book. There may be a bit of romance for Angie too! Excited for the next book!
Another one down and yet it is still an amazing series. I love the anticipation each chapter gives me. I continue to read each book in about a days time then I get excited for next one.
the Queen can't decide if Navan and Riley are just lovers or dangerous traitors. no matter what they do they cannot please her. the lab will soon be finished soon and Navan's brother will be looking for something to do, too. hmmmm, time for some .....
Following the crew as they attempt to spy and attempt to figure out a way to stop any plans that she has in the making is getting harder to accomplish. The destruction of the world is at stake here.
I could not put this down. The adventure continues for Riley and Navan. Looking forward to Book 4. Hotblood Series is worth the read for all who like adventure to beyond the Earth.
This book takes you on a great adventure and you also get to realize that love has no boundaries. I can't wait for the next books in this great series.
As always, Renegades picks up where Coldbloods left off and continues with another fast paced adventure. I really enjoyed Riley's growth from a weak "Kryptonian" that made poor decisions and relied on Navan to a strong woman who can hold her own in the Vysathian army. I found that this book had a little more suspense than the last which kept me on the edge of my seat waiting for our heroes to get caught.
What I really like about this series so far is the new take on old creatures with the addition of our winged space vampires. I am excited that the next book is going to take us to another planet in this new world to meet yet more new species of friends or foes for our main group.
Overall this was another fun, fast-paced addition to this series.
