Taka

Taka looked out at the frozen desert where he had to bring his people when their own lands were ruined. He walked over to the building where his enemy’s daughter, his mate Aska, was chained up with others captured during the battle. She hated him and spit at his feet – but he knew she could feel that he was her mate. But there could be no trust between them. The wolf shifter had bitten his brother, Endre, trying to kill him earlier. Now he would have to get her away from his brothers and his people and take her to safety. Because if she died, he would die as well since they were literally soulmates. But she was not raised to have those kinds of feelings, not interested in love. She was a weapon to be used by her father, and she had to follow his plan without emotion – even using her mate to gain the advantage.

Whilst walking he comes across a captured wolf shifter who has bitten
one of his brothers trying to kill him. Taka, at once, recognises her as his soulmate and Aska recognises that he is hers too. So Taka must get her away from his brothers as they will kill her which will mean that he will die too. Aska is a feisty young she wolf whose father declares war on the dragon shifters and he has raised Aska to use all her skills and anything at her disposal to kill Taka This means that she will use her knowledge that she is his soulmate to trick him into freeing her. I have read both of the two books prior to this in the series, Wruin and Endre and I loved them! having said that, this can be read as a standalone story but, having read the other two I understand so much more. Miranda Bailey is a fantastic writer with clever storylines and she gives you sufficient details to make the characters come alive before your very eyes. I do love reading paranormal stories and shifters are my favourite of the genre. This is one fast paced story that is a real page turner and a must read. Enjoy!!!

While I liked Wruin, I struggled to enter in this installment of The Brothers of The Dark Places series.
May be because it was a very short story.
We have mates than turn to be enemies at the opening of the book, but faith says they bound, they live, they refuse, they die.
While they have they have instant chemistry, they fight it because of who they are, Aska the daughter of Taka and his people long time enemy, fight to free herself, she was raised to hate everyone to help her father to because the only ruler of their magical worlds. Taka has fought all his life Airitech and is aware of Aska being his daughter.
Their internal battles about what shall be done, to not betray theirs, to surrender or not to their lust were interesting, then once they spend some times together, they give in immediately, no more denying of they are enemies.
Plus this lust evolves in an instant in love, it was too sudden even if due to Aska’s past, I understood she and her father do not share much except for what he brainwashed her mind.

Taka is having a bad week. First his land suffers through massive earthquakes forcing him and his people to evacuate to his brother's frozen land. While there he has to help fend off an attack by their enemy. Then to his horror he discovers that his enemy's daughter, Aska is his fated mate and their captive. Her past actions as an enemy will end up with the death penalty but her death will bring his own due to their mate bond. Taka wants to set Aska free to save both of their lives and live alone the rest of his life but freeing Aska will mean betraying his family.
Aska is confused. Her father has always said horrible things about the dragons causing Aska to hate them. As a father, he was cruel and abusive but he was the only father she knew. Now she is a captive, she is feeling new feelings. She knows Taka is her mate and wants to use their attraction to her own advantage.

But while he is there, he is drawn to a wolf shifter that has tried to kill his brothers. But as he soon finds out, Aska is not only a wolf shifter, but his mate. They try their best to fight the bond that connects them. Will they win or will love win over them? Can Aska deny her father's wishes and stay where she belongs with Taka? Will Abigail help Aska see her as family and not an enemy?
Aska and Taka have a lot to learn about each other and how they connect. This is an exciting short read exploring their bond. It has love, lust, romance, fighting, war and peace. A Great Conclusion!
This was the 3rd book in the series and the final one concerning the dragon brothers. It picks up where the 2nd book ended with Taka discovering his mate in Aska, the daughter of their enemy. While their animals instantly recognize their mate and fight for the chance, they each must decide how to proceed. Taka faces the tough decision on how far he will go to keep her safe and claim his mate. Aska must overcome her own fears and upbringing to fight for the chance at love and safety. With help and advice from his friends and family, Taka finds a way to reach Aska, and in turn Aska finds her inner strength to take what she wants. Lots of drama, action, and heart-warming emotions in this story that ends with all 3 brothers and their mates getting their HEA. I can't wait to see where the author takes this series next!

Taka has found his mate in this story but she is the daughter of their enemy and a wolf shifter. Aska has been brought up hating dragons and to fight for power and for her father to rule. After a battle, Aska is captured and Taka has to claim her as his mate or leave where he will die without her. Aska doesn't want to love Taka, she has never been loved or even knows how to love. Taka is unsure if he can trust Aska, he doesn't know if she will mate with him to get close enough to kill him or if she will allow him to love her. I enjoyed this story and thought the bond between Taka and Aska was hot and steamy. Good one.

This book brought everything full circle. It was so well written that I just couldn't put it down until the very end. Taka ws the youngest of the dragon brothers and didn't really know where it fit in. Aska is the daughter of the guy trying to kill them and half sister to Abigail. They never got the chance to get to know one another but when things finally came to a head the were on the opposite side for a wile but when he showed her love, it changed everything for the better. Thus series was absolutely amazing. It told us of 3 brothers just trying to make it I the world but when they find their soul mate all bets are off. I congratulate you on a fantastic series and I'm looking forward to reading more. I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.

Taka and Aska
I think this is the best book of the three in the series. Taka is the youngest dragon brother. He met is mate at the end of the last book.
Aska is Abigail's half sister and a wolf shifter. She was raised by her father and only knew hate and cruelty from him. He raised her to fight with him to rule the world. When she got caught and recognized Taka as her mate, she fought it. She was raised to hate dragons and to try to take their power.
Taka went against his brothers' wishes and escaped with Aska. He wanted to show her he cared for her even if it felt like a betrayal to his people.
Her father continues his attacks. We get an appearance of the fairys from Tir Na Nog.
Great ending to the series.

Short novella about enemies turned to lovers. Aska, a wolf shifter has been brought up by her cruel father to hate dragons. But during a fight with them she is caught, and finds out that one of the Kings of Dragons, Taka, is her fated mate. Taka fears Aska will never embrace being his mate. She has been indoctrinated by her father to hate dragons and her father wants to rule the world. Taka and his brothers can’t kill Aska or Taka will die. If Taka releases her, he will be betraying his brothers and his people. And being fated mates they won’t be able to stand being away from each other. Can he turn her hate into love? Airitech and his wolves attack and take Ender's mate. When she is rescued, they take captive Airitech' daughter, Aska. Taka realizes she is his mate,an enemy. He attempts to mate with her and she runs from him. Wruin captures them. What will happen now. Will Aska and Taka ever be one ? Will Airitech attack them again ? This is a love story for the youngest dragon, Taka. It's full of strong characters that will have trouble giving an inch in the story.

I love reading Miranda Bailey’s books and this one is no exception, this is a great read and the 3rd book of the series. This story is about Taka and Aska, Taka has found his mate in Aska but she is the daughter of his enemy. Their love is forbidden and Aska has no idea about what love is, Aska has been used as a weapon all of her life and has never been given love so she doesn’t know what it is. I don’t need to give anymore spoilers because Miranda tells you a lot in her blurb. This is the best book of the 3 and I definitely recommend this book for anyone that loves alien / Sci fi books.

This is the third book in the Brothers of the Dark Places Series, where we have the story of Taka. This book is a quick read, and much that was left open in this series is clarified in this book.
Taka is the youngest brother of the dragon kings, and Aska is a wolf shifter, trained to kill dragons, specifically Wruin.
But when they discover they are life mates, acceptance will not be easy, since they both want to fight it.
Can the two surrender to the feelings, or will they fight against them, risking everything that is most important to them both?
This is an amazing story, with very well written characters.
I highly recommend the reading.

What a fantastic finish to this Dark Places Trilogy! Aska and Taka are enemies, from two sides of the war with the werewolves. Their love is forbidden, but you can’t help who Fate links you with. Their journey is rocky but love finally wins out. I was impressed with the final battle scenes and their subsequent outcome. I have enjoyed this trilogy of the Brothers very much. Well done Miranda, I can’t wait for your next project to hit the shelves.

Taka and Aska, totally different personality wise and definitely not who I would expect to be fated to one another. Aska is the spitting image of her father, cruel and uncaring. Can Taka change that with the knowledge they are fated mates or will she continue to have a cold heart? You need to read to find out, because I do not give spoilers. Lots of surprises in this book, and look forward to more from this author.

This third book in the Brothers of The Dark Places series was an extremely quick read. Aska, a wolf shifter taken captive during book 2, and Taka, the third dragon king brother, have made the unwelcome discovery that they are soulmates. While this book is a quick read, all loose ends from the series to date are tied up.

I received a free copy of this via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Great book couldn't put this one down had to stay awake just to read it in one go. It was a great storyline and a great romance. If you enjoy shifter romance with Dragons and Wolves then you will love this one. I had already read the previous book, so be warned this is the third book in the series and I think to fully enjoy it you need to have read the previous book.

Excellent paranormal short story. Take is a dragon shifter king trying to help his people which are all types of magical beings. Aska is a fierce wolf shifter trained by her fathers cruelty to hate and kill all dragons. Suddenly during a fight they meet and Taka realizes Aska is his mate. The story moves quickly and has lots of action. I received a complementary copy of this book via BookSprout and chose to write a review.

Taka knew resisting the mating bond would be a death sentence but Aska tried her hardest to resist. It was sad that the thought of loving and being loved evoked so much terror in her. I loved that Aska and Abigail were able to form a bond after everything their father did to them.

With life so hectic is was great to be taken to another world and sink into the story. As always I love these stories and characters created. Always refreshing from a hectic life and always sad to finish. :) Thus the need to always read more. A great book. If you love paranormal, you will enjoy this authors books.

This is one that you have to read to get it from the start. No spoilers. It is exciting, suspenseful, emotional, hot, mysterious and so much more. It really is a good book you can't put down. I recommend it. I was given a review copy by book sprout and voluntarily review it.

This is the third book in the series about dragon shifters. A very short story that was rushed and a lot of errors. I voluntarily received this book to review for my honest opinion.

Taka is a dragon shifter who finds his mate in Aska a wolf shifter. The two are polar opposites. Taka is kind to his people,
and like all of my people, knew they could come to me with any problem they faced.
Aska was,

Unfortunately Aska was imprisoned for attacking Taka's people and it seemed the two had no hope for becoming mates even if they wanted to.
I liked the inner turmoil Taka had wanting to free his mate and also doing what was right for his people. He wasn't naive to believe she might have another agenda if he freed her.
Killing us both to please her father, out of loyalty to him, would be a waste.
I enjoyed reading about the different shifters and the magic. I didn't like how the Epilogue ended. There was quite a few errors as well. This is the first book I've read in this series and by this author.

The book picks up where the last one left off, so books one and two should definitely be read first for continuity. Good story and nice ending for the series.
