Pick a book. Grow a Reader! This series is part of Scholastic's early chapter book line, Branches, aimed at newly independent readers. With easy-to-read text, high-interest content, fast-paced plots, and illustrations on every page, these books will boost reading confidence and stamina. Branches books help readers grow!Eerie Elementary is at it again! In book #5, a terrible snow storm hits the school, and the students are trapped. Soon, the hungry school begins to freeze from the inside out! Icicles drip from the ceiling and snow piles fill the hallways! Then Antonio turns into an ice statue -- making him a yummy popsicle for the school to dine on! Can Sam and Lucy turn up the heat in time to save the students?
I said I thought I loved this series, but I think I'm slightly obsessed now haha I didn't want to put this down and I just discovered that one of my libraries actually has the rest in the series, I just had to do some online digging. So I'm excited to carry on. I will say this is a series it seems for reluctant readers with them being around 100 pages the font is huge and the story is quick. But for an adult, like me, these still are such fun reads. I don't care if these are for kids, they are awesome.
My 2nd grader is a pretty picky reader and gets bored easily. This was a fun and adventurous chapter book. He actually asked for more after we finished it. Win!
😀I liked this book because Sam is very adventurous.😀 Sam is very adventurous because Sam is very brave when he does his hall monitor job.😀 I also liked this book because the book was very fun.😀 =-)
Fun read with my 6 yo. Sam, Antonio and Lucy enjoy a simple day at school - until a nasty winter storm arrives. At the school door - freezing it shut. Together they must work to find the thermostat in the Teacher's Lounge before Orson Eerie becomes alive again!
I have been reading this series to my son (6 years old), and I think out of the first 5 books, this one is my favorite. Quite a fun story. My son loves this series.
The more I read this series, the more brilliant I realize it is. The school is about to have a snow day - but the kids are all trapped inside. It's up to our trusty hall monitors to get everyone out safely but first they have a bigger problem to contend with. What if the school's evil designer comes back to life?
So many questions about what's going to happen next. Really enjoying reading this series and can't wait to see where it ends up.
Considering I've had a hard time finding a chapter book my son likes, this is a win! He loved it and was willing to read it out loud. The author does an impressive job of keeping the plot moving and the action going from start to finish.
Certainly a juvenile book, but if you have budding readers, I'd recommend it!
Like most of the "Branches" line from Scholastic, this is an oddly empty book. They all are, I don't know why. But it will do if you are not picky and need material for your voracious 2nd grader. This series is super creepy. The school building itself is a monster that is trying to kill the kids.
In this installment, the trio discover Orson Eerie's ultimate plan. The magic of the school and the mad scientist that brought it to life freeze the school as a step toward his evil end. The three have to use their knowledge of science, the clues from Orson Eerie's science book, and ice skates to thwart him and save the school!
I enjoyed this book because I liked the part when Sam defeated the tornado that took the shape of Orson Eerie in Eerie Elementary. I also enjoyed this book because I liked the part when Sam skated really fast in Eerie Elementary.
My kids love this series and this 5th book was really well done. They wouldn't let me stop reading despite the fact that it was past bedtime. How could I deprive them of the same joy I feel when reading a good book?
Eerie Elementary is a horror series best for kids in Grades 1-3. These books are transitional readers for kids just starting to read chapter books on their own, a step up from ICR. These books are well-written and will keep the interest of kids in grades 1-3.
I really enjoyed reading this with my first grader. It was well written and kept us both intrigued. We read multiple chapters at a time thanks to the good writing and moving plot
Jack and his fellow hall monitors do it again! My boys (ages 7 and 11) love this book series. It's quite an exciting bedtime reading ride. We really love the action and adventure in this series.
