Two teenaged friends and an uncle journey to northern Manitoba on a fishing trip. In a hidden cove the uncle finds a derelict speedboat which he remembers from years before. He decides to purchase the boat and move it south for restoration and asks the boys to help. The two teens are threatened by many challenges, manmade, mechanical and natural during their long and hazardous voyage. They discover this boat has a remarkable history on both sides of the law.
