Harper is celebrating her eighteenth birthday at a party in the woods. She wanders off and gets bitten by a rogue wolf. This turns out to be the best thing that’s ever happened to her. She meets her mate, discovers he’s the alpha of her new pack. And with the pack comes the family she’s never had but always yearned for.

Just to complicate matters her only friend turns out to be a vampire. Colton has known for a year that Harper was his mate.

I liked the idea of this but the book proved to be disappointing. I know it states it’s 18+ but it read more like a YA book.

One of the many reasons I thought it was a teenage book was Nikoli. He’s a two hundred and thirty eight year out alpha. He’s waited years for his mate and now she’s here.
And while I appreciate he’s respectful of Harper. After all she’s only eighteen and a newly turned wolf and yes he’s giving her time. They kiss and bake cupcakes together.

I’m sorry but there wasn’t even a speck of chemistry between them. They were boring even the one sex scene was boring.
Maybe it’s me that’s just too picky.

The writing was flat and dull and I struggled to keep reading a lot of the time.

I’ll admit I’m mildly curious about Gold but I don’t think this authors writing style is for me. Plus apparently it ends on a huge cliffhanger so I’m calling quits.

A retelling of Little Red Riding Hood? Check.
Two potential mates? Check.
Vampires? Check.
Werewolves? Check.
DID I READ THIS BOOK? You bet your ass I did!

Run Little Wolf was pretty good. I didn't not see her friend being a vampire at all - which I loved because who doesn't love little surprises? Then there's the whole "she got bit by a rogue vampire and randomly winds up with two mates" kind of story line which turned out to be a lot better than I originally thought. I liked Harper for Harper not because of her shitty background or the two guys trying to win her heart. However, it didn't hurt to read about her relationships with the two guys because they were different and unique.

I don't really know what else to say in this review because I don't want to ruin it or give out a ton of spoilers. If you like paranormal romance books, then I suggest you dive into this one.

Cute, and very fast paced. I've been into fast paced reads recently. I will say that G. Bailey is pretty good at making a fast paced read pretty entertaining. Honestly though, I felt like some of these plot points seemed a little too convenient.. When plot points don't necessarily flow on a natural gradient due to a super fast pacing, they either come across as too convenient (well that just fell together just exactly right) or as forced (lets just cram all this in there and hope it makes sense.) This series is leaning toward the convenient which for me is much better than the forced lol. There were also characters that seemed completely irrelevant and disappeared completely from the story (example: all the high school friends, and the vampire club peoples?)

Harper, our FMC, is out bond firing it up for bday #18, the only thing missing her BFF of many years Colton. Unfortunately for Harper, a rogue wolf shifter is roaming the woods being hunted and Harper gets caught in the cross fire. Now bitten, Harper must give up her life and join her new supernatural family. What do you know, upon meeting strong, handsome Alpha Nikolai he declares Harper is his mate. Colton also shows up with some pretty hefty secrets of his own, and it turns out he also has a claim on Harper. Just as Harper is getting things sorted out with Nikolai and Colton yet another potential suitor shows up and this one with an army threatening to destroy her new found family.

I did feel like the chemistry was just off with Colton and Harper.. I mean they have been friends forever but the story never really eluded to them having any feelings for one another, there wasn't much of a buildup there it was just like Bam ok. I would have like to have seen a little "more" at least where the connection between the characters came into play. All in all it was a good read, I just felt like it could have been more if it had slowed down a little and added in that extra depth but at the same time I'm glad what was here wasn't dragged out. If that makes sense lol.

Spoilers.

Alright, here we go, starting with my biggest issue that pulled me out of the story and made it not easy to read. This book needed an editor so bad. There are a couple chapters that the header says the wrong name so you start off very confused if you are reading it from that person's perspective. Example: the girls movie night, the second chapter of that is titled Nikolai and it is actually Matilda.

The other thing that bothered me, and this is something I've learned about G bailey that I can't unsee. I love her Winters kiss series. One of my favorite series and I have actually reread it a few times because I like it to that extent. When I was reading this I kept getting connections to that series and decided to look up the publication dates. Same year. 2017 all these books came out, which seems to be a theme for her. She will have multiple books release but in reality one of them ends up being a book of cut scenes from the other. I noticed it this year when she had two separate dragon book series release...not a coincidence now dont get me wrong I like the main series she makes and some of her books are great, but when they aren't great and feel thrown together I feel cheated. I like you, I take the time to read your books, andi want the effort there across the board.

Other than that, I think a lot of the decision making and discussion between Characters was underdeveloped and almost cliche at times. Ex: she's a foster kid so insert all the things a foster kid would say if she was learning to trust. Or Colt was her friend for an entire year, confesses his love, and they are quickly moving toward just getting along 3 chapters into the book. It's almost like she hit fast forward on the formula that makes her other series so good. The base is there, the talent is hidden beneath the "hurry up and get this book done" way this book was written.

Honestly, I'm just bummed about this one.

Run Little Wolf by G. Bailey is a wonderful beginning to The Forest Pack series, which is a fairytale retelling of Little Red Riding Hood.

Harper’s life is about to be turned upside down following her 18th birthday. But before it can even head in one direction, it’s flipped again when she’s bitten by a rogue wolf.

With so much happening in her world, and her with her best friend Colton trying to locate her, will she discover all of the secrets he’s been hiding from her and be able to adjust to her new life?

And will Harper fall in love with an alpha Wolf or her bff Vampire or will it be both?

This is a beautiful menage story, with a nice little HEA.

A take on the Red Riding Hood fairy tale which was really well done. It's a very loose take which is strong in the paranormal world with different supernaturals and shifters and I loved it. The dynamics between the three main characters and the side characters was well written that it kept me interested in their adventures and what was happening. There were also moments between the characters which had me laughing, but also some sad moments and it's those sad parts which is having me wanting to know what will happen in one particular characters future. However I won't say who as you need to read this book to discover that for yourself.
If you're a fan of shifters, fairy tale retellings and heroines who don't have to choose between their loves because #whychoose (although this is a manage not a RH in this book) then you'll enjoy this read as much as I did. The full five stars from me for a delightful read.

This is a reverse-harem, fairytale retelling about Little Red Riding Hood and her werewolf and vampire mates. It was okay but I couldn't help but have Twilight flashbacks.

I'm more interested, tbh, on how Goldie and her 3 alpha bears story will play out.

No

This book seemed like it had a really interesting premise but the writing was so bad that I had a hard time reading it. The characters weren't developed in the slightest, there was a bunch of telling and not much showing, and the worldbuilding was non-existent. Just not worth the time. But the premise was good enough that I would try to read more books from this author later on.

This almost read like a traditional romance for a few sections of it. Not in a bad way. There's actually some nice "chunks" where our MC gets to learn her relationship with each of the two guys she's mated/destined for. Both are very different. The way they interact with each other is interesting. They don't start out liking each other.

There's some nice female wisdom in these books. Harper is a foster kid with a foster mom who doesn't really care much about her. Her best girlfriend is really only using her to get to her best guy friend. Her best guy friend doesn't necessarily act like a "normal" guy friend should act (not in a bad way).

Then, one bad night right before her foster mom is going to kick her out of the house for aging out of the system, she gets bitten by a rogue wolf. This turns her into a werewolf. She gets taken in by a nearby-ish wolf pack. Turns out she's fated for the alpha. In addition to being fated for her best friend, who's a vampire. They're both pretty good guys. Caring without being too stifling. Fun without being too lackadaisical. When they are stupid/selfish/unthinking they've got women (mostly) around to point out the error of their ways.

It's hard for Harper to let other's care about her. It's a learning experience for her and for the alpha who's used to having people to take care of and not really question it much.

I FEEL like this series is going to be a different main character in each book, because it felt like the bulk of Harper's story was told in this one. But, that could easily change.

I liked the different dynamics between the different shifter-types/clans as well as the brief insight into the different types of supernaturals and how they interact in different environments.

The best friend's vampire family is vaguely reminiscent of the family from Twilight, but it's not anything major and it works.

I like it and I'm intrigued to see what happens with the other characters. I wouldn't mind "checking in" with this triad in the future.

Great twist to the Little Red Riding Hood story, a more adult version haha. We get to meet Harper, who gets bitten on her 18th birthday by a rogue wolf and is thrust into the supernatural world that she had no clue existed. She gets to join a pack, after not having a family/more than 1 person care about her, but has to deal with 2 love interests that declare she is their mate. I loved both of Harper's mates, they did a good job putting aside their differences for Harper's sake. I especially liked the side characters in this story. Gold, Snow, Arisa, and Light all seem awesome and I enjoyed the lightheartedness they brought to the story that sometimes was tense/dramatic. I can't wait to read Gold and Snow's story. I am hoping Belle gets a happy ending too, maybe she can tame a beast of her own ;)

I would have given this book 5 stars, but it did feel a little rushed to me. It could have been flushed out a bit and it would have made the story feel more complete/not as jumpy as it did in some spots. I did love the story and still recommend people read it. I would love to have a Colton or Nik of my own haha.

Good

I like werewolves and mates. Intrigued by the storyline of Harper being turned into a wolf and then taken to a pack where the alpha is her mate, yep had to read this. Intrigued even more when her best friend is a vampire and her mate too. Gotta say the duel mate thing really isn't my taste. Just a personal preference. I like a strong one on one bond when referring to mates. So that was different. However, Colton had upstanding qualities. I approved of his character for his class act. I approved of Nik the pack alpha because he was all that. Strong, powerful, opinionated, possessive and sweet. Yum. Me like. I also liked the developing stories in peripheral characters. Goldie and those bears... total story there. Snow? Yeah I want closure on that. I want to punch Erik for being a coward and I want to know "what just happened" at the end of this book with the prince. Hello! Story there. Only thing that drove me nuts was the editing lack there of. Outside of that a fast paced read and intriguing story line. Moving onto book 2....

Run Little Wolf is a fantastic concept based loosely on the Red Riding Hood tale.

The main character is fierce, full of spunk and is stronger than even she knows. Both male leads have qualities that make them completely different and unique;though when it comes down to it they can come together and work together as a team. Each character in this book has a potential to have their own story and we wouldn't get tired of them and I chalk that up to the talent of G Bailey. She manages to infuse each character with a depth and individuality that really grabs you and leaves you wanting to know them even more.

Any story that puts true love first has got to be a favorite, and the concept of true mates has to take the cake. Ms. Bailey perfectly executes those happy endings that make you smile and turn you into a soppy goo that will have you grinning like a fool! I cannot wait to read the rest of the series and urge you to read it as well!!

Loved it for trying out a lower paged book

I almost didn't read third book because it didn't have a lot of pages which i usually prefer. Luckily I gave it a chance and found out the story was kinda perfectly written. It wasn't rushing the romance and underdeveloped which I expected, so I'm actually extremely glad I decided to give this book a chance. I even liked thee imperfections of the pack like Snow and Erik's history so I'm glad I get a chance to learn about them. A couples of things I think could have improved on was more hot, heavy, and detailed the sex scenes should be. Romance is good, but passion is always better. There was also a couple times that editing was wrong because some words were left out as well. Overall I was impressed and excited about this book and I'm definitely excited for the next installment.

Real rating: 3.5

I'm not quite sure how I feel about this one. Though I've been on a major Bailey books binge this week, Run Little Wolf didn't pull me in as much as her other books. It felt a bit rushed, and the main characters felt underdeveloped, neither being something I'm used to from Bailey's other work.

Though the pacing was fine, the ending felt very quick, and but like there was no real climax, no real danger of losing each other, etc.

Over all, it wasn't a bad book. It was decently written like Bailey's other work, though there were some inconsistencies I'm surprised ARC readers didn't pick up on. Though I read it in on sitting, I don't feel satisfied from reading it, though I am curious to see what happens in the spin off books about Gold and Snow, both whom I enjoyed reading about, especially the badass Gold, who I think will make a great MC for book 2.

First things first, everything that G. Bailey writes is amazing and so is this book. I loved the main character, Harper. After Harper is bitten by a wolf on her 18th birthday her whole life changes. Two supernatural men fight for her and they both claim that she is their true mate. How does Harper deal with this since she cares so deeply for both of them?
Harper’s journey is full of twists and turns and you will never be bored while reading this book. Loads of interesting characters are introduced and I can’t wait for the next book in this series that follows the story of one of those characters (p.s. she is my favourite). The pace in this book is quite fast and some parts feel a bit rushed but that doesn’t affect the 5 stars that this story truly deserves.

Great play on the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale

I'm not usually a fan of fairy tale remakes or retellings, but G. Bailey did an amazing job of incorporating aspects of Little Red Riding Hood in to Run Little Wolf.

Harper has grown up in foster care and only has one true friend, Colton. On the night of her 18th birthday, she decides to go to a bonfire in the forest with all of her classmates. Colton doesn't come, as he usually stays away at night. Unfortunately, Harper is bitten by a rogue wolf shifter and is now a shifter herself.

Harper is taken to the Forest pack and meets the alpha, Nikoli, who declares she is his destined mate. Before long, Colton shows up with secrets of his own, saying she is his destined mate.

Can they make it work? Read it and find out!

Absolutely brilliantly breathtaking!!! I loved the whole Red Riding Hood acknowledgements. Any story that puts true love first has got to be a favorite, and the concept of true mates is sigh inducing ♡ Both of the lead men are swoon worthy and they are so well voiced! Ms. Bailey certainly knows how to make each character unique and come across as absolutely individual. Our lead female was spunky and much stronger than she knew. I cannot wait to read the rest of the series!! Each character we were introduced to has such huge potential and possibilities for some entertainingly untold as yet stories ♡♡♡ Ms. Bailey always perfectly executes those happy endings that make you smile and totally gift you all the feels!

At a party on the woods on her eighteenth birthday, Harper is bitten by a rogue werewolf and taken in by the local pack. The handsome alpha declares her his mate, and at the same time, her hot best friend who turns out to be a vampire also claims her as his mate. How can she ever make this work?

This is a reverse harem paranormal romance which felt it was written for a YA audience. There is only one 18+ scene, and it is short and sparse on details. I would have liked to feel more emotion in that moment, but I didn't feel connected to Harper at all. I also thought her declared mates fell flat. It was the surrounding cast of characters that really intrigued me. Gold, Snow, Arisa, and Light. I have the second book in the series, and I will read it for the hope of a more interesting read.

Actually, this was actually a fun read :)
Harper was pretty chill about being turned into a shifter, I know I would have some more issues with it (nah, who am I kidding lol). Don't expect too much character development. We know Harper's history and we have some info about Colton and Nikoli, but it stays pretty superficial. That said, the story didn't really need more.
Pacing and flow were good, there was a great balance between all the action and the conversations, keeping the story moving forward smoothly.
The book itself was well written with no (noticeable) errors and yes, there is some sex in the book (if that is important to you).
All in all, I enjoyed it :) it was a nice, quick so yep, will be reading the next instalment!

Run Little Wolf is an awesome take on the Little Red Riding Hood fairy tale.

G. Bailey does an awesome job at turning a childhood favorite in to a tale with vampires and shifters. Even a breed of shifters I have never read before.

What's a girl to do when on her 18th birthday she is bitten by a rouge wolf and thrown in to a world that she never knew existed? Harper excepts that their is a whole new world that she is now apart of and that she might just be mated to the alpha of the pack.

But what happens when Harper also realizes she is mated to a Vampire as well??

Your going to want to read Run Little Wolf and find out.

Great ménage

One night in the woods changes Harpers life forever. She wakes up hours from home and has to face her new reality with a group of strangers. Once her best friend tracks her down though she finds out he's been keeping secrets too. So many secrets and now a choice has to be made.i enjoyed the start to this series. I love Colton and Nikolai! I like Hadley and I really like how she doesn't just jump head first into anything. She takes her time and weighs her options. The secondary character were great too and I can't wait to read Golds book.

Lovely

G. Bailey is an excellent writer. I've read most of her books and have never been disappointed. This was not exception. The MC and her guys were sweet and likable. I adored Nik and his patience with her as she grew into his world. My favorite part though, was her friendships with Snow and Gold. I get sick of MCs who are hated by all the other women in the book because they're so beautiful, amazing, etc. I loved that the girls had a weekly girls night and became best friends. Great read. I'll be looking for the next.

Moves Quickly

This story is okay, it moves quickly lacking a bit in detail and development, that said it's not a bad story. I did like that while it's not a pg13 tale, it's a multipartner romance that's not overrun with sex scenes. I got the odd impression that the author was hungry when she wrote this, I say that because considering none of them work in food related careers, they spend a lot of time randomly baking cupcakes... Overall it was a decent story, but it could have been better.

Harper is the MC in this book, she's 17 years old and has lived in foster care basically her entire life. She goes out to celebrate her 18th birthday and graduating high school. It's a night that changes her life forever.
This is an interesting spin off of Red Riding Hood, this is a shorter book, honestly I wish it was a tad longer with a bit more character development and back story on the characters. I'm hoping book 2 will delve into their pasts more as well as expand on the ending of this book.
This book is rather fast paced and is well written.

It's worth multiple reads!!!

So I read this book when it first came out ages ago and loved it. Now that it's a week away from book three's release I am re-reading the series.
Holy smokes it is just as good as the first time.
The FMC is bitten by a rogue and then taken to Ireland and the Forest Park, where she meets her mate! He is this hunky possessive alpha and I want one haha.
The story line is excellently written and it keeps you enthralled through the the entire book.
Onto book 2 and can't wait for book three!!
Definitely recommend 👌.

4 stars for Run Little Wolf by G. Bailey. This is book one in The Forest Pack Series. This is a take on Little Red Riding Hood. While, Harper is celebrating her birthday and she gets bitten by a werewolf. Next thing she knows she is a werewolf and her best friend is a vampire. While it says this book is for 18 years and older , I would consider it more of a young adult book. I enjoyed the romance between Harper, Colton, and Nikolai. While I enjoyed the story , I didn’t give it 5 stars because I felt it lacked passion. I missed that in the book. I will say it is worth reading though .
