THE INTELLECTUAL TOOLKIT OF GENIUSES: 40 Principles That Will Make You Smarter and Teach You to Think Like a Genius By: I.C. Robledo
* I received a free ebook copy of this title in exchange for a fair and honest review.*
This is a short book (only 37 pages) that outlines 40 principles of how geniuses think. The author believes that if people follow these principles, that these same people can learn to think like a genius.
The author states, "Ask what you would teach if you were in charge of the school system," and he makes an interesting point. He is correct in stating that schools just teach students to read and then regurgitate facts. Students are rarely taught the "why" behind those facts. This is a fundamental flaw in the current educational system.
The author makes some interesting observations and in general I believe his list of principles are sound.
"Great geniuses do not make excuses. They are prepared to put in the work and learn on their own if required."
RATING:
Overall I think this short book is an interesting and informative read. Most of the advice offered by the author is intelligent and well thought out.
This book deserves a rating of 4 out of 5 stars and is worth reading.
It's length is such that anyone and everyone should be able to find the time to read it in it's entirety in a single day.
"Intelligence can be improved, depending on how you choose to use your brain."

I will use it for my discussion club. Every participant will get a principle to analyze and then share with the group. So, it will look like this: 1. The name of your principle.
2. Your short summary (2–3 sentences).
3. 2–3 interesting words or grammar points you noticed.
4. A personal example or reflection.
5. One discussion question for your classmates to answer.
🗣 Example question: “How can curiosity change the way we study or solve problems?”
Every principle is short and it'll be possible to cover several of them during a lesson. Hope it will spark discussion and students' curiosity to read all the remaining principles from the book.
The book highlights some commonly known / understood facts about life and success. As the title implies, I would have been happy to read more "genius" pointers, especially from genius minds.
This is a Short book, outlines how geniuses think. It’s interesting and informative, advice is well thought out . It had great content included,40 self enrichment techniques it felt like I was attending a mastermind lecture. Definitely gained insight from the reading experience. It was inspirational and well written involving critical thinking, really gets your creative juices flowing. Has useful principles: learning from multi formats, engaging in experiments, and being able to recognize patterns and anomalies. It’s concise , making it a valuable read . Encourages a different thought process and how to apply them to your everyday life . However it lacked some depth , it’s suitable for self help and personal development, a great starting point for that. In ways it was Superficial and simplistic also basic and repetitive at times. Not suitable for advanced readers due to that reason would set up boredom quickly . It’s slightly lacking with limited perspective and the primary focus on Western Geniuses it needed a more diverse range . Also felt like a Clickbait Title , misleading title that promises more than it delivered so that’s the reasonings why I gave it only a 3 star. I liked that it was informative at times and a short read but ultimately it lacked and I just didn’t find it very interesting. But I still pushed thru to Finnish it although.
I listened to the audio book of The Intellectual Toolkit of Geniuses narrated by Markham Anderson. I’m not sure how I might have felt about the book had I just read it but being able to listen to a particularly good narrator discuss the forty topics and why they are important felt like I was attending a mastermind lecture. Overall, I feel like I gained some insight from the experience even though I am familiar with 90% of the topics and practice them regularly.
This is a spectacular example of a clickbait book. The author promises that we are going to learn from geniuses but most of the information comes from Wikipedia, blogs, and articles. The author promises insight from many geniuses but only quotes (and mis-quotes) Darwin, Einstein, Edison, and di Vinci. Ignore books like this and read the classics. If you want to actually hear from real geniuses, read anything by Napoleon Hill.
Learn to press on and then the moment geniuses stopped looking for the answer, the said solution re-appear. The effect of always be learning is a really interesting case of the young-in. Push the boundary and keep the logs to embark in the path to the true geniuses.
This book of 40 principles that will help you live a smarter life is just a little better then okay. It doesn't have the depth I wanted. Also, the explanation of each principle is seldom more than skin deep.
Very interesting observations. Definitely will apply some of these principles to my own life. Great information. Well written. Will read others by same author.
I must say I was expecting something different and much better. It was filled with generalizations. Though is always nice to recall most of them, it seemed a bit boring and not worth it.
