Ennis Harrison was a small town doctor, and the last of the brothers to find a mate. He figured since all his brothers had found mates within the last year he had to be next, and he’d made up his mind that he was going to do this right. He wasn’t going to make the stupid mistakes his brothers did. The first thing on the agenda would be to find a house. He had one in mind if he could get it at the right price.
Lisa Collins had been around a very long time. She wasn’t human, but she wasn’t a full blown vampire either, the vampire blood running through her veins had given her immortality…to a point. Age or sickness wouldn’t kill her, but an accident was another story entirely. When she accidentally cut herself from palm to elbow, she was trying not to alarm her friend Georgie, but she was dizzy with blood loss.
The house was almost too good to be true, but it was his and he was proud of it. The entire family had a lot to celebrate, including his brother’s birthday. When Ennis was called away from the celebration for an emergency, he knew the injured woman was his mate. Determined to do things right the first time, he took her home with him.
The house had its own secrets—a dark and gruesome history. Things weren’t always what they seemed. Women were disappearing one by one. Who could they trust? Were any of them safe? Find out in the final installment of the Harrison Ambush—Ennis.

Ennis, the town doctor, has recently opened his own practice and knows, as his five brothers have recently found their mates, his can't be too far behind. So, knowing what to do and not to do based upon watching their journey unfold, he searches for a house for his future mate and finds the perfect one for a steal.
Lisa, an artist, is neither fully vampire nor human, but a mix of the two due to the vampire blood needed to save her many years ago. When she severely injures herself and Ennis is sent to help her, he knows immediately who she is to him and wants to do things the right way.
As Ennis and Lisa begin getting to know one another, they're also navigating what a mating means to them, dealing with one of the house's previous owners, the now ex-wife as they'd recently divorced with claims of her cheating, and a possible serial killer.
With their hands full, and their lives in danger, Ennis and Lisa must overcome all the obstacles they face and adjust to their new mating, as well as certain gifts they receive for just being themselves.
Can Ennis and Lisa work through everything coming their way? What will be revealed that will impact the whole family for generations to come? Are Ennis and Lisa safe? Who can be trusted? Will they get their HEA?
One-click now and follow along as two people begin their lives together while fighting to save those of many others. Please keep in mind this is the sixth and final book in the series, and though it can be read as a standalone, I highly recommend reading the titles in order as all five previous couples are mentioned quite often throughout this last story.

When it comes to finding his mate, Ennis knows first hand what not to do from watching his brothers mating. His first step to making sure his mate will be happy, when he finds her that is, is to buy a house and have it set up and ready. When he goes out for an emergency for his partner's friend, he finds his patient is his mate. Now is the time to put all his practice to use and wait for his mate to be ready to come to him.
**"You are the sort of rareness that comes into a person's life but once. You love with all that you are, and give so much more."** -- Ennis
Lisa has been gifted life after helping Georgie, but she's neither immortal or a vampire. When she accidentally cuts herself while helping her friend set up their new gallery, she wakes face to face with her mate. She's had lovers and been around men, but when it comes to a mate she's not sure how to act and doesn't want to disappoint.
**"This is my favorite place to be. Right here, hearing your heart beat for me."** -- Lisa
As these two try to wade through their new mating, they uncover secrets in their new house that puts them and the old owners in danger. Will these secrets be too much for Ennis and Lisa and force them to leave their newly bought house? Or will these secrets put them in more danger?
I absolutely adore anything Kathi writes. When it comes to her books, I know I'm always in for a good strong female, a male who will do whatever it takes for his woman, and a bit of laughter to help break up the tension along the way.

Another series comes to an end and Ms. Barton ties the finish off by introducing us to new characters that I hope to see in their on stories. Ennis is the last of the Harrisons to find his mate, knowing she is coming but not when he tries to prepare and not make the same mistakes his brothers have. Ms. Barton throws in a twist by not giving Ennis the mate we thought from the end of the last book but creating a tweak that keeps us on our toes. Lisa is a human artists that was saved by a vampire and his day walker, when she is injured Ennis comes to the rescue and the mating dance begins. The bad guy in this one is a little different also, at first you think Ennis is a target and in a way he is but not to the extent of some of the past tales. I loved the new character additions and enjoyed Ennis and Lisa's story very much. I thought it moved along a good pace and was intrigued by the house that Ennis purchased. As with all of the series endings, we get a look at the future of our favorite family. Ms. Barton is nice enough to provide some closure but always seems to throw something interesting into the mix before the stories end. I volunteered to read this story for my honest opinion.
It's always both happy and sad to see a book series come to an end. This being the 6th book in the Harrison Ambush singles an end to this saga. Harrison brother Ennis finds his mate in this great conclusion. Though Ennis knew his mate was coming soon, still he was left breathless when she finally arrived. Ennis being the town doctor, he found himself treating a young attractive woman he'd never met. Lisa Collins, though not human, not even a true vampire has lived a long time. When she discovers the sexy tiger shifter/doctor is her mate she is truly happy.
This end to a great paranormal romance had a very interesting murder mystery going on. We even had a few faeries visit and bestowed a wonderful gift to all of the Harrison clan. I loved how we got to hear how the family fared many years later. I enjoyed this series.....both the Harrison tigers and their very strong capable mates made for a fun and exciting series.
Ennis is the doctor in the family & the last son to get a house & a mate. So with this book you also get an excellent ending.
Lisa is a famous painter & has come to Ohio wit her friends Derrick (he's a friend of Mason's who is also a vampire) who is going to work part-time as a country doctor with Ennis & her friend Georgie who also is a famous painter. Lisa is not all the way vampire but, she isn't human either.
Part of the good vs bad plot has to do with the house that Ennis bought. But, you'll have to read the book to find out what had happened there. In this book they meet the King of Faeries who gives the Harrison family a little something extra when he meets them; a gift from his sister, The Queen. The book was very good overall but, I have the excellent rating for the series itself.
WOW, this last book of this series was the most wonderfully storyline that will make you feel so good that you feel like you've been given the gift of immortality with the characters!!!
Kathi S Barton writes the most riveting and fascinating stories about shifters that find their mates and cherish them in a completely unique way that will take you to their adventures and experiences in life where you are transported to another world where dreams can come true and love is really the norm and not hard to find happiness!!! I would love to read your books before they are published! It would be a great honor to become part of your team!!!
Ennis and lisa's book is really my favorite for the series shame it is also the last one. I really loved how miss Barton could really say how I feel when I make art. That was spot on. Also the psychopathic person in here really hit it on the dot in my opinion. That's really how I thought one would be like. She went for it and it worked. Never thought I would like that. Somehow she wrote it so good that I enjoyed it. I never really go for that kind of inanity. Somehow it worked really well in this book. All I can really say is Kathi S Barton you really outdid yourself! I volunteered to review this story for my honest opinion
'Ennis' is the sixth and final book in Kathi S. Barton's "Harrison Ambush" series and what action, drama-filled book it is. We not only have Ennis meeting his fated mate in Lisa but a vampire friend of Mason's is introduced into the story. Not only that but the Faerie Queen and King make their appearance. Murder, mystery, and mayhem accompany the love and loyalty within this family and we find out that of all six of the brothers, Ennis is the one who makes the biggest impact of all. A remarkable story for an outstanding series.
Great ending to a great series. Ennis is settling in as a country doctor. When he meets his mate, he learned his lessons from his brothers mistakes. Lisa is almost vampire and is nervous but happy to be Ennis's mate and drawn into the Harrison Ambush. There is trouble thrown in their way. A haunted house and a serial killer to catch. New friends in the fairy king and queen. A sweet epilogue a hundred years on the future. Going to miss the Harrison familr.
As a long time fan of Kathi S. Barton, I have been disappointed in quite a few of her recent releases. So, I was very happy to see her finish off the Harrison series on a high note.
I liked all the stories in this series. This 1 the most. The end couple of chapters. Hope there's a spin off or the other series by Ms. Barton are as good.
I was given a copy of this book for an honest review. Ennis is a tiger shifter and Lisa is a vampire with a terrible past. Can Ennis show her what family is really about? Can they stop a serial killer and figure out who really is behind everything? Kathi S. Barton never disappoints. What a wonderful end to this series.
