Lovemaker

Scream my name.

They call me the lovemaker, but I’m really the f**kmaker.

I left Mason Rivers and became a detective to escape all this small town crap. But when I come back home for my old friend’s funeral and lay eyes on his sexy little sister, I know I might have to hang around.

I can picture her pretty mouth bobbing up and down, and I can’t stop myself from getting hard. I want a piece of her, and badly, but I know that’s messed up. Her brother’s dead, murdered in some drug deal gone wrong, and he’s barely in the ground.

Doesn’t matter. I’m going to have a taste of sexy little Cora Lewis.

But there’s one problem. She wants me to help solve her brother’s killing. I don’t want to get involved, but I keep finding myself getting sucked back in whenever Cora’s around.

I’ll do it for her. I’ll use my skills to find her brother’s killer.

And in return, she’ll use her skills to make me feel good.

I’m the lovemaker, and Cora’s about to be my next satisfied conquest.

Lovemaker is a steamy romance with hot scenes and bad language. It’s only recommended for readers 18+.

Lovemaker is a STANDALONE, full-length novel. No cliffhanger. Guaranteed HEA. Includes bonus content!

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Cora and Wyatt. Wyatt was Cora's best friend before he got into the drugs. Now he is dead and Cora needs Wyatt's help to figure out who killed him. Wyatt does want to do this but he is willing to try for her. However what they both want might drive them farther apart then closer together. Can they really have it all or will they end up in more trouble than they have ever seen before?

This book will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. There are many ups and downs in this book that I want to tell you all about but don't want to ruin it for anyone else. I will say that I would highly recommend this book to anyone and everyone.

B. B. Hamel has given her readers a steamy romance story with a great storyline and characters, danger, mystery, action, off-the-charts chemistry, and so much more. This is one book that you won't be able to put down.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

This is another excellent storyline by this author that I thoroughly enjoyed reading, and would certainly have no hesitation in recommending. Cora and Wyatt were once childhood friends, so when Wyatt turns up to Atticus’ funeral, Cora persuades him to help her investigate her brother’s murder. Meanwhile, the crush they both had on one another is once again rekindled.

Atticus as a child was loyal; the sort of person that everyone wanted to be around, always smiling, laughing and trying to be helpful. When Atticus and Wyatt parted ways, Atticus was a shadow of that kind, happy person; little did Wyatt realise he would be returning to Mason River to attend Atticus’ funeral. As children, Atticus and Wyatt had been best friends. Cora used to look up to Atticus and his friends and often tagged along with them; Atticus looked out for Cora until he started having issues himself. Cora should have seen this coming; she had tried so many times to help Atticus, but failed. Still he was her older brother, troubled or not, and she loved him despite it all. With no attempt by the police to find Atticus’ killer, Cora is hoping Wyatt, who is now a Detective working in Chicago, will help her. There had been no explanation, no leads, nothing, but Cora is determined she is not going to let the town forget about her brother. Wyatt doesn’t think about Mason River all that much anymore, but when he does he is always glad he left. In Chicago, Wyatt is in demand, young, handsome and moving up through the ranks; he even has a nickname, the Lovemaker. Nothing has changed in Mason River, nothing at all and yet everything is rotten to the core. Wyatt doesn’t fit in anymore and cannot wait to get back home, but a memory from his childhood and Cora’s determination, makes him want to stay and help. Wyatt knows Atticus deserves justice, but while the police have plenty of leads they are not giving the case priority; nobody is interested in who killed Atticus except Cora, but Wyatt cares, or at least he used to. As Cora and Wyatt continue their investigation, the implications are that The Niners, a local gang, may be involved, leading to threats to Wyatt, Cora and Cora’s family. Eventually the truth is revealed, but it is not what it seems. Atticus was robbed during a drug deal, but he was robbed and killed by the two people he probably felt closest to in the world; Atticus had died alone, broken and betrayed. Cora is glad she knows the truth; it is all she ever really wanted and justice had finally been served. Wyatt and Cora have a lot of history together and while Wyatt never wanted to return to Mason River, he has decided that staying this time is the right choice. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

Oh what we have here is so very much more than a romance. B.B. Hamel has penned us a romance that is like a childhood crush chance of HEA, but also it's a murder mystery with suspense and a question of why the local police won't help! Cora who is a kindergarten teacher is standing at her brother Atticus's funeral when she spots his best friend Wyatt who ;left town years ago to become a successful cop in Chicago where is nickname is Lovemaker as he's such a womaniser. He left when Atticus was getting involved with the wrong crowd that dealt in drugs and petty crime. Cora is at her wits end as she wants to know who murdered him and why but the local police aren't interested. She persuades Wyatt to help her. It helps that many years ago she had a major crush on Wyatt but was too young to do anything about it AND that Wyatt had a crush on her too that he kept a secret all these years. Their mutual attraction is re-ignited and , this time, the flames will not be quashed! B.B. has the reader enthralled with the Who Done It aspect of the story but also with their love story. Revelling in the pages as Wyatt and Cora fall in love. B.B. has delivered to us here two wonderfully believable characters in Cora and Wyatt who took us along the journey to their Happy Ever After. It's a journey that I'm pleased to have experienced all encompassed by the suspense and mystery of who murdered her older brother. Have your fans at the ready for the passionate scenes that may well leave you hot and bothered but are so enjoyable to read. I read this story via KU and loved every part of it. This is a must have read and one that is so good that I will be re-reading in the future.
The bonus material is not to be missed either!!!
DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED

Cora Lewis, a Kindergarten teacher at Mason Rivers, while, Wyatt Reap, a detective, cop in Chicago, Cora's older brother Atticus's childhood bestfriend, Wyatt used to be fondly called as Lovemaker by his PD friends as he is a number one playboy. Cora meets Wyatt at her brother's funeral and asks him to investigate about her brother's murder, Cora is desperate to find her brother's murders, after some hesitations Wyatt accepts to investigate. Back when they both were kids they had secret crush for the other, now, after all these years they fell attracted likewise. Wyatt talks about the basics of the case with his local cop and comes to know that the local cops are not into much in the case, he tells to Cora and decides to leave, but after a detailed talk with his friend and when he finds he himself cannot stay away from Atticus's case. I voluntarily reviewed the ARC of the book i received and this is just amazing as the other books of BB Hamel's. This book is a wonderful mix of thriller suspense and steamy romance. Wyatt and Cora are strong individuals, the both want to find the mystery behind Atticus's murder, though Wyatt wants to do it for Atticus, he is unable to keep himself away to think Cora in his bed. More they get into the case, more they get closer and the hidden attraction spies up and gets heated up in head. As the case nearing the closure, they both struggle to clear the confusion what they feel for each other. I enjoyed the book very much, it was wonderful read with mystery solving and happily ever after.

This is story with romance, mystery and some trouble mixed in. Cora is a kindergarten teacher in her home town, Mason River and has found herself at the gravesite for her brother, Atticus. While there she sees her brother’s childhood best friend Wyatt. Since Wyatt graduated high school and college he moved on to become an investigator in Chicago. Wyatt is known as the Lovemaker as he gets around with the woman. Cora and Wyatt both had childhood crushes on one another and her being to young and him being older they never did anything about it. Cora ask Wyatt for help finding out who killed her brother and Wyatt finds himself doing whatever he can for her! Atticus fell in with a pretty bad crowd and was using drugs so the local police don’t seem to make his death a priority. As Cora and Wyatt start working on figuring out what happened to her brother they become closer and their attraction makes them see one another as more than friends. Can Wyatt keep Cora safe and figure out what really happened? Will Cora overcome her sadness and find happiness with Wyatt? I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

B.B Hamel for the win!

I have to say this book bowled me over with its two attention-grabbing stories in one- you have the hot insta connect between Cora and her deceased brother's friend and crush Wyatt second chance type dynamic and a suspenseful, murder mystery surrounding the death of Cora's brother Atticus.

I was utterly taken by the fan your face, thoroughly intriguing, kept me swiping those pages needing more storyline.
I am a massive fan of B.B Hamel, have enjoyed each of her unique books- this one has pushed its way to the top of my favorites list of her work!
If you are looking for a well written, yummy, amped up hotness, with an intriguing suspense and mystery, read this is an excellent one!
The author's talent shows through every page!
I wish I could give this more than 5 stars!

i read this book as part of an arc program. I loved this second chance romance. Cora asks Wyatt to help her find out why her brother Atticus was murdered when he returns for the funeral. Atticus and Wyatt were best friends until Atticus fell in with the wrong crowd and Wyatt moved away. Wyatt is now a detective in Chicago and decides to help Cora until he has to return to work. Wyatt always had a connection to Cora and now that she has grown up, he is having a hard time keeping his hands off her. Cora always had a crush on Wyatt but thinks he doesn't think of her that way. The more they dig into the murder, the more secrets come out and the more danger comes their way. I loved this story right from the start and loved Wyatt and Cora together. They had great chemistry and Wyatt really wanted to keep her safe. Great one!

Intriguing for sure. Good plot. Detective, Wyatt comes back into town for a funeral of his old best friend, who went deprecate ways in high school over drugs and the wrong crowd. Wyatt runs into his old friends younger sister Cora, who is trying to solve Atticus’s murder. Drugs gangs and threats of violence infuse the story as they work together to try and figure things out because the local joke town cops don’t seem to have much motivation to solve the murder of a junkie dealer. They soon succumb to their chemistry and lust and realize they have always had a thing for each other but her brother stood in the way as a protector and guard. When everything comes To a head Wyatt must figure out if he is coming or going and what Cora really mean to him. And whether he wants to return to his title of lovemaker in the Chicago police force.

Another great book by this author! This one is a romance murder mystery. Chicago detective Wyatt comes to town for his childhood friend Atticus' funeral, and catches up with Atticus' sister Cora. The Lovemaker shared a lot of childhood times with Cora and her brother Atticus, before Atticus got addicted to drugs in high school. After 10 years in Chicago, things have changed in Mason, and people you once knew have changed too. Wyatt decides to help Cora, but not because of Atticus; he simply can't get the delicious Cora out of his head! Lots of danger, sleuthing, action and hot times. I found myself immersed in the mystery of Atticus' murder, the missing mother, and big town vs small town living.

I received an arc of this book and have voluntarily reviewed it.

Good Read!

This was a good read, not great but held my interest. Cora is a teacher, whose older brother was murdered. His old friend, Wyatt, a detective attends his funeral and runs into the beautiful Cora. She enlists him to help find her brother’s murder. There’s chemistry between the two and they wind up between the sheets as they fight the connection. Wyatt doesn’t want to get involved but he can’t help but protect Cora when she and her mother are threatened with death. What started off strong starts to drag a bit for me with the story line and it finally doesn’t just end, it seems to just run out. While the plot was entertaining, I just wished I could have moved the story along a bit faster but had a more depth to the ending. It was still worthy of 4 Stars.

OMG what a great story.

What a true match made in heaven, but they fight it to the end. That's my feelings on Lovemaker by BB Hamel. It stars a detective named Mason Rivers who makes it home for the funeral of his best childhood friend. Who was murdered. Enter Cora Lewis, little sister of the man who was murdered.
Cora begs Mason to stay in town and help her find out who murdered her brother. Along the way these two get close and Mason just can't keep his mind or his hands off Cora. As they go through town questioning all kinds of low life characters Mason does his best to do what he feels is his duty and keep Cora safe.

Tons of suspense and hot scenes as well. Loved the outcome of the story. Ready to read more by BB Hemel.

The sex was dirty and sinful which is what I love about BB’s books. The plots are not always the best but this one was a pleasant surprise. I loved the plot. It was intriguing and never dule. It captured my attention from the beginning and never let go. The characters were interesting and none of them were just filler characters. Cora was determined and strong. She was focused and undeterred when it came to finding her brothers killer because she loved him no matter that he was a selfish junky. She remembered him as her brother when they were kids not the adult he became. As for Wyatt who couldn’t love a hot detective who could dirty you up in a good way as well as protect you from harm. Yes please! Great job BB! You never disappoint me. Until next time y’all happy reading.

Wyatt used to be Cora’s brother’s best friend, and they were always attracted to each other. Wyatt left town to become a detective in Chicago, and when he returns home for Cora’s brothers’ funeral, he is talked into helping Cora discover who murdered her brother. This story if filled with mystery, murder, suspense, and is a powerful and gritty second chance love story. I am in awe of this talented authors’ work, as she never fails to keep me captivated by her stories, and I always look forward to reading more of her work. I highly recommend this authors’ work for all reader, as she never disappoints!

Gotta love a good thriller/mystery with some hot passion thrown in. Amd that's exactly what we get with this latest release from BB Hamel. It starts with a murder, into an investigation then those passions take over all while danger is lurking around the corner. Great book and one I couldn't put down! Cora's older brother, Atticus, has been murdered. Atticus was an addict and not a nice person and the local police department doesn't really care. When Cora sees Atticus' childhood friend at the funeral, she jumps at the chance to involve him in helping her solve the murder. Wyatt is now a detective, after all. Wyatt remembers Cora as a scrawny child who tagged along with the boys. But now she's all grown up and gorgeous. Unable to say no to her, Wyatt takes time off of work to help solve Atticus' murder and get Cora in his bed. Hamel writes books that keep readers enthralled till the last word. Another great read!

My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read.

At her brother’s funeral, Cora reconnects with his childhood friend Wyatt who is a detective. While Wyatt helps Cora get answers into who killed her brother sparks fly and the attraction that they both ignored growing up springs forward. But will Wyatt walk away from Cora when they find the answers they were looking for? Or will this new romance become the best thing that ever happened and bring the two together for a HEA? With great characters and a storyline that keeps the reader on the edge of their seats this is a book that should not be missed.

Cora is devastated when her brother Atticus was murdered, she will not rest until she finds out who is responsible. Coming back to town for his best friend funeral, Wyatt never thought he would ever come back home but seeing Cora makes him want to stay. With Wyatt (a detective) helping Cora with who killed her brother, they are both in danger. The chemistry between both of them our off the charts and they can’t resist the pull. There’s danger and mystery and sex scenes that will have u reading non stop.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

This is by far my favorite book by BB Hamel, a romantic suspense with electric chemistry between Cora and Wyatt. Together they are working on solving who murdered her druggie brother, who was Wyatt best friend when they were younger. We follow the case as they attempt to solve it.

Well-written story that kept me entertained from start to finish. Loved the characters and interaction between all of them, even the baddies. The chemistry between Cora and Wyatt is sizzling, well thought out plot.

Definitely recommend this book. Loved it!!!

Cora and Wyatt meet again while at her brothers funeral. Cora has asked Wyatt a detective in Chicago to help her find out who killed her brother. Wyatt has always had feelings towards Cora, he soon discovers he will do anything for her.
I thought the story was amazing. Cora and Wyatt have history together and while growing up they have had crushes on one another. They are brought together by such a tragic event. These two had such amazing chemistry together and I love how they are together. This story has it all. Suspense, Drama, Love, and lots of sexiness. A Must Read!

This romance is quite the crime story… thrilling with lots of twists and turns!
Both protagonists, Cora and Wyatt, feel very authentic in their feelings, behaviour and trains of thought.
There are passages full of suspense when you want to solve the mysteries about Atticus’ murder as much as his sister and his former best friend…
And then there are these passages when it gets all steamy and hot and passionate…
A very well done concoction!

Another book that is so much better than the blurb would suggest.

Yes, there are steamy scenes between Cora and Wyatt, their attraction to each other is red hot, but the tension and plot development come from the mystery surrounding the death of Cora's brother Atticus.

Why won't the local police put in any effort to solve the case?

Who are the Niners?

As a successful cop working in Chicago, Wyatt is the ideal person to help Cora investigate....and to keep her safe when danger threatens.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book...it was so good that I read it in one sitting.

Cora life has gone to crap when she has to go to her brothers funeral she believes he was murdered and with the help of a old friend Wyatt they will try to see who did it. Wyatt has made a name for himself in the big city and when he goes to his bestfriend funeral he never realized that his friend kid sister would end up look like that. Cora and Wyatt team together to see if they can find out who did in fact murder her brother, and between it all something starts between too of them. I received this book as an arc for a honest review and I can say that this book has a lot of twists to it.

This is my first time reading this author. The book got pretty good reviews, so I figured I would give B.B. Hamel a try. I feel like I missed something, the writing was just ok, with a fair amount of spelling/typo errors and some grammatical errors, which is something that really bothers me. I really didn't connect with to two main characters, Cora and Wyatt, the chemistry between them was just a bit flat. I don't like to end a review on a bad note, so I will say that I did like the cover of the book.

I loved the new one from B.B. Hamel! A funeral and murder mystery bring Cora and Wyatt closer than either thought. When Cora's brother is killed Wyatt returns home for his former friend's funeral and finds himself helping solve what happened that resulted in the murder. The danger surrounding these two will throw them together closer than either had planned and yet it's the one thing both have been missing. I loved Wyatt and Cora! Wyatt never thought he'd ever return to his hometown, but Atticus' murder brings him back. Cora is Atticus' sister, and she's determined to find out who killed him. Seeing Wyatt again brings back long-ago suppressed feelings. Wyatt is going through the same angst and turmoil. I loved this suspenseful romance. With both Wyatt and Cora being confronted with their feelings and then having to deal with them, you know there was going to be some good tension. Great read with a great story line.
