Sometimes, when the pressures are high, you choke. That has been the case for Caleb’s attempts at winning the Masters. Each year of his professional career, he has qualified. And each year, he has managed to bomb it.
Now that it is drawing close, he is acting out in his personal life, drinking and partying. One particular incident gets caught on tape and spreads via social media, angering his sponsors. They give him an ultimatum: get a girlfriend and at least look like he has it together or they pull their money.
So, girlfriend it is. And it just so happens that Hailey is a struggling actress looking for her first big role. While it might not be on the silver screen, pretending to be his girlfriend is an acting job, and one that pays very well.
As you might expect, though, pretending to be in love invites the real thing. Soon the two are falling for each other. But can a relationship that starts as a lie go the distance?
I ended up really liking this story. The plot was a little different and interesting. A golf pro is definitely different. Caleb ended up growing up tremendously by the end of the book. I loved Hailey, Mandy and Matt. The characters were well-defined and easily relatable.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Caleb is a famous golfer and his partying ways have gotten him into some trouble with his sponsors. Hailey is a struggling actress that is just about to give in to her parents to return to school and give up her acting dreams. Hailey gets a shocking offer be a fake girlfriend for a celebrity for 50,000 bucks the money is too big not to look into the offer. When Caleb and Hailey meet sparks fly but Hailey wants to keep thing professional. They go on dates and when Hailey's sister comes to town the even help her look for an apartment. Everything is going great until they have too much to drink and end up in bed. The next morning Hailey feels weird because she's being paid to be his fake girlfriend and she just had sex with him. Caleb doesn't see anything wrong about what they did but agrees to keep everything professional from then on. When Hailey learns of Caleb's problems in the masters she's offers to help. Caleb is worried that he will choke again and starts talking to a therapist at his sponsors request. Everything comes to ahead at the masters. Will Caleb win the masters? Can Hailey make her dreams come true?
This was an amazing read I couldn't put it down. I've read other books by Ivy Jordan but this one is my new favorite. If you haven't had the chance to read it you really should.
Not impressed. This author apparently did no research on the game of golf, much less tournaments. Very disappointed in the story. So, I initially thought this would be a good story. It is really annoying when an author doesn’t research what they write about. Ivy Jordan takes literary license to an all time low. She doesn’t understand how the game of golf works, yet she writes about a ‘professional golfer’. Unfortunately, I know how the game is played ( having played it for several decades) and have attended a few of the ‘big’ golf tournaments. She needs to do a complete re-write. She basically has nothing correct about the golf game, other than it involves clubs and is played on a golf course, anything else is so wrong it is ridiculous. Would have enjoyed the story more, if she had done better in understanding what she was writing about. Another problem, since when is safe sex not an important issue? Can we really believe that any ‘man-whore’ would be stupid enough to have sex with a stranger and not only risk pregnancy, but disease with all his random hookups? Especially since he is a wealthy man, from a wealthy family? Don’t believe that for a minute. Too many issues with this story. Won’t waste my time with anything else from this author.
Says it all: average and awkward. The romance bubbled along, and eventually Caleb masters the Masters (golf’ tournament).
I found the dialogue stilted - who speaks without contractions anyway, and uses “quite” so much when they talk? And the first person POVs strangely distancing.
There are at least two books stuffed in after the Stroked that are not in the index, only listed as “bonus”, so if you want to get to the automatic Review pop-up that lets you write a review to Amazon and Goodreads, you have to scroll all the way to the end. What does that do? That means this writer gets page views (even if you didn’t read the extra books) that weren’t listed in the book or description.
Aside from the average writing and average romance, I am blacklisting this author from any purchases or future Kindle Unlimited borrowing.
Caleb is a playboy golfer who’s recent public striptease has angered his sponsor. He needs to clean up his act and his sponsor suggests getting a girlfriend. Hailey is struggling to break into acting. She dropped out of college to persue her dream. She finally gets a gig that pays really well, being a pretend girlfriend of a golfer. I honestly found Hailey really irritating in the beginning. She just seems to be fame hungry and is always talking about wanting all the advantages that comes with fame. It also bugged me that she was completely surprised by the outcome of her and Caleb’s actions. Caleb was a bit callous at first but then he really grew on me. Fun story. I liked both Caleb and Hailey. I also really enjoyed the secondary characters off Matt, and Mandy. Caleb screws up badly at the beginning off the book, his striptease is plastered all over social media, and his sponsor threatens to drop him. However, if he cam straighten up and be a good boy through the Majors, they'll stock with him. A girlfriend is the last thing I'm Caleb's mind, but the idea seems too make both his sponsor and his parents happy, so lets go for it. Hailey is a struggling actress looking to get a break into the business. When she's offered three months with a huge paycheck, how could she refuse? What starts our as a Fun time between quick friends develops into so much more. The sorry was cute, even a little cheesy at times.
Caleb is a professional golfer who tends to choke up on major tournaments, like the Masters. He has insecurities which are damaging to his game as he always tries to live up to his golf legend father. His sponsors are not happy with his partying ways and demanded that he clear up his image. The solution, a fake girlfriend. He hires Hailey an out of work actress via contract with an ending date. Neither counted on the chemistry and attraction between them. Quite a journey as they carry on their ruse. A cute book with lots of twists, surprises and cute characters. I read an advance copy and voluntarily chose to write a review.
This story has a bit of everything. I like that. It is a romance love story. Two characters that have to develop to reach their HEA. But the golf... Hm... I am golfer, so that could have been better with research.
Well written story with a nice storyline and plot. I like that the characters and how they develop. A passionate and emotional read with twists.
It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. There is passion, hot scenes and lots of chemistry in this amazing story.

Hailey has dreamed of being an actress for as long as she can remember. Being the son of a professional golfer, Caleb is expected to follow in his footsteps. He needs a fake girlfriend, she needs a job. What happens when feelings become involved? Will Caleb win the Masters? Will Hailey get her big break?
Steamy read. These two were adorable together in the fact that both wanted the other to succeed. I was proud of Caleb for overcoming the pressure. Loved the fact that Hailey was determined to support Caleb and help him overcome his fear. Good read!

You’ve heard this story before, hire an out of work actress to help improve the PR of an out of control athlete, in this case a golfer. The premise of the story may not be new and even the outcome is predictable but the style and twists Jordan resells this story is very entertaining and makes this a good read! Recommended! I received this book for a voluntary, completely honest and non incentivized review.
Caleb is the playboy golfer who always chocks during the big match. Hailey is the Georgia girl who wants to be an actress. They both have disappointed their parents. This book is well developed and there is some depth to the characters. The storyline flows well and keeps the reader interested. You'll definitely have Harleys back and hope that Caleb will grow up. I was given this book for an honest voluntary review.
This book was pretty good. It definitely held my attention and the chemistry between Hailey, the actress and Caleb, the golf star is awesome, he's been told to get a girlfriend or all sponsorship money will be gone and so he hires her to be his fake girlfriend

Caleb is a pro golfer and wants to win the Masters. His only problem is he can't concentrate enough to win something this big, he always chokes. Does he need a girlfriend, will that change the way things work out for him? Hailey is exactly who he finds to help him with his "problem". Can something that is supposed to be pretend become real? This was an enjoyable read that was also an easy read.

Fantastic sports/fake girlfriend story. These two hit it off finominally. With all the stress he's been undergo win the masters, he's choking at every chance he has. When Hailey becomes his fake girlfriend, he starts exhibiting the boyfriend moves immediately. There's no doubt they'll end up together. I can't wait for more from Ivy! I'm voluntarily reviewing an advanced reader copy of this book.

Hailey, an inspiring actress, is hired by Caleb, a bad boy golfer that needs to turn his public profile around, to play his pretend girlfriend. With ups, downs and some all arounds, this was a great read.
Absolutely loved it. Extremely captivating and interesting sexy read. I could not put it down. Wonderfully written with strong characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Wow, Caleb is a rich boy who is used to getting what he wants. Hailey is a down to earth aspiring actress who is just the one to tone down Caleb womanizing ways. These two had an unlikely Romans that leads to love
I'm not to keen on sport romance stories but this one was written well with a great storyline and characters I will read more from this author.I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book.
Stroke It by Ivy Jordan A fast-paced but well written, enjoyable read. "I received an advanced copy of this manuscript and am voluntarily leaving an honest review."
I've read all of Ivy's books and they are so enjoyable. With this one, it was a nice change to read about Caleb, who is a golfer. I liked that he wasn't your typical football star. It definitely had a few steamy sex scenes which will keep you reading. It had humor too which I enjoyed. I hope that Mark gets his own book cause he was my favorite. He was so funny.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book for an honest review. This was a very well written book about bad boy Caleb, a golf pro, and Hailey, an aspiring actress. Caleb is given an ultimatum by his sponsor to clean up his public image and get a girlfriend or he will lose their sponsorship. Hailey decides to accept the role of Caleb's "girlfriend" because she knows his bad behavior is a result of the intense pressure he is under. They are both unprepared for the strong attraction they have for one another and their sexual chemistry is conbustible. Another wonderful book by this incredibly talented author.
