Gives a perfect check list of important points for setting up a fashion business, and can be used if you're interested in retail as well as building a collection. Provides all the basic information and can see myself referring back to this regularly over the years.
One of the best books ever. This one is either for a business newbie fashion designer or for a fashion newbie - it gives answers to lots of questions and structures everything. Super easy and enjoyable to read. The best book I have seen so far!
Even though it said “Fashion” on the cover, there are many other aspects in this book that can benefit other business industries. For example, if you’re building a brand, not necessary a fashion brand, you can also learn from this book, or basic knowledge on marketing and retailing. Of course, some parts are specifically for building a fashion brand, but you can adapt these ideas to other products you try to sell.
But this is a great book for anyone trying to build their own fashion brands. It includes everything starting from your visual concepts to accounting, which is an important part if you want your business to success. It’s easy to read and images helps a lot for better conceptualization. There are many tips for people who just starting out and downloadable documents are really useful. I would recommend this book for anyone who’s serious about creating the own fashion brand.
I’ve been studing and working in fashion for over a decade and didn’t think much of this book when i first found it, but it turned out to be super useful. The information is clear and organized, detailed yet simple to understand. I recomend it to anyone who is starting a business in fashion, big or small, or even those with years of experience. It will help you take your brand to the next level, locally or internationally, by asking yourself all the right questions.
I wouldn’t say it’s the book where you read it and start your business. But it’s a book where you will have all the head line informations needed in order to start a business and not miss any detail. It’s great in order to know what comes before and after every process. It’s like you have all the titles but you should do the research.
A truly brilliant book with easy-to-catch definitions, images, and detailed construction for many aspects of the fashion industry. Even though this one is more suitable for big fashion house and textile company, I still can find many helpful information for small business also
This was fascinating, it's so detailed yet nicely complemented with visuals, covering everything from mirror tilts, to little tools fashion photographers should have, effective SEO optimisation and more! It is truly a fashion startup founder's bible.
It’s very handy if you need a clear and easy plan to follow as a fashion designer. But as retailers, or resellers, etc, it’s still good to check it out. Not very detailed but it covers basically everything you need to worry about when starting your own brand/clothing business.
Poorly copyedited with many typos, but information is good. Well illustrated and the progression makes sense. Overall I will definitely reference this book.
This book gave me so many valuable insights into the world of fashion business. I am inspired and will definitely come back to revisit some points later.
A visual guide for absolut beginners of the fashion industry. At first I found this book far to superficial but as I am teaching fashion business to first year fashion students, the book grew on me, as I could se the content visualizing a lot of the topics I was teaching. Now the book is on their reading list, and I find it very useful.

É o livro mais completo que li sobre as vertentes de um negócio nesta área ‑ suficientemente abrangente para incluir branding, preços, fornecedores, políticas de qualidade, comunicação, planos de marketing, vendas e apoio ao cliente ‑ mas focado individualmente em cada um destes pontos.
