4 Star Review Hot by Angel Payne
This is Book 6 in the Honor Bound series. I highly recommend that you read them in order as there is reference back to events that occur in previous books. I love this series, so was anxiously awaiting Shaye Bommer and Zoe Chestain’s story. One sexy Alpha Dominant, a fiery submissive, BDSM and men in uniform. What’s not to love?
A chance meeting in an airport bar brings the two together .Shay is an Alpha Dominant and Zoe is the submissive he has unknowingly been searching for. However their timing is shocking. Unbeknownst to Zoe, Shay is on a deep undercover assignment and Zoe is accidentally put right in the middle of it when the plane she is on the next day is hijacked and Shay is one of the high-jackers. That is the start of a roller coaster ride that is their path to their HEA. This story is full of passion, action, bad guys and sizzling hot sex. Slightly different from the previous books in the series (with the addition of gene mutation and the search for a long lost relative) what a ride this story is.
As with the previous books, the guys of Special Forces make an appearance, whenever one of them needs help, they are there - all for one and one for all, no questions asked. Shay’s mission is complicated by his feelings for Zoe and for the relative he discovers is alive and involved heavily in his mission. To complicate matters his brother believes he is a traitor who has given up on his country, his friends, his team and is now working for a madman.
Shay is a man of honour and when the lives of his family and friends are put at risk, he surrenders himself in exchange for their safety and freedom. What transpires for both Shay and Zoe is nothing short of constant pain, terror and sheer hell over several months. As was expected his comrades come to his rescue and with the assistance of his “little dancer”, Shay is finally rescued after months of torture and terror.
I was disappointed to note several typographical errors throughout the book and I have to be honest, I do feel that the ending let this book down. It ended so abruptly I was rather shocked and disappointed. I wanted to see Shay and Zoe reunite, admit their love for each other and realise that they were meant to be together. I wanted to see how they got to their HEA and I felt let down that I didn't get that.
Having said that I did love this book, I fell in love with Shay and Zoe and their story. and I cannot wait to read the next instalment in the series.

WOW! Well Angel Payne nailed the name. This book is most certainly HOT and boy was it action packed, intense and delicious! I read this book in one sitting! I could not put it down!
Hot is book 6 in the Honor Bound series (preciously known as Hot For The Hostage from The WILD Boys of Special Forces and it follows the story of Shay Bommer (Shane Burnett) and Zoe Chestain.
Shay is a hot as hell, dominant, alpha man that’s deep undercover for the Special Forces unit, that’s working to take down an extremely dangerous man. When stuck at the airport and sitting at the airport bar. He meets Zoe and he wants nothing more than a lustful, passionate dirty night that he’ll make sure she never forgets.
Zoe is in need of something new, she wants something she’s never actually done before and that’s have a one night stand with a hot stranger so when Shay catches her eye and they hit it off, she goes back to a hotel with him and has the night of her life!
One night stands are meant to be hot, passionate, dirty sex where you leave the next morning and never have to worry about the other person again but the next day on the plane Zoe and her friends are on gets hijacked, to her surprise she is shocked to see that Shay is one of the kidnapper.
As much as I want to dive in to details on everything that happened, I don’t want to spoil what is an incredible, action packed romance with a few twists and turns that’ll keep you on your toes and your attention all the way from the first chapter to the last. What I will say is that this was different from the last five books in the series which certainly was not a bad thing!
As always, Angel Payne delivered an compelling and outstanding plot. She never misses and nailed it flawlessly. The characters are very well written and her ability to transform words into an incredible series of books is phenomenal! She’s a master at what she does and this plot is one of the many reasons why I’ve fallen so in love with her books. She’s unique and does not shy away from much and I absolutely love it.
Although this can be read as a stand-alone, i suggest reading them in order, to get a better feel of the characters and their backgrounds!

Hot by Angel Payne is the sixth book in the Honor Bound series. I devoured it in one sitting-I literally could not put it down. Ms. Payne has a way with words that captivates you and makes you feel a part of every fictional world she creates. In this story, it follows Shay and Zoe and their crazy journey.
Shay Bommer is working undercover to take down one dangerous man. While stranded at the airport he lays his eyes on the most beautiful woman he’s ever seen. Shay figures with being stranded he can enjoy a little downtime. Little does he know that one night can change everything...
Zoe was looking to enjoy a little time with her girls after finishing a gig in Las Vegas. While at the airport bar she sees the most attractive guy ever! Knowing she’s a lost cause D/s world, she figures what harm could one night do...well she’s about to find out!
This book was explosive!! Action packed, hot steamy scenes that while reading you need to fan yourself and a storyline that keeps you on your toes. This series continues to get better and better and I am so excited to read book 7!!

What she did not know was that Shay, undercover Special Forces Soldier was on a mission to rescue his mother from a deadly criminal. Sexy and exciting, Hot is a great addition to the Honor Bound series. It can be read perfectly as a standalone or introduction to the series. After an intense one night stand, Zoe is shocked to see the man she spent the night with again.
Zoe and Shay/Shane light up the pages in this book. They are both strong characters that are easy to fall for.
I found Hot to be intense, sexy and it had me on the edge of my seat. I was captivated by the story, plot and pacing. The characters are interesting and complex. I would recommend this to the reader looking for a heart racing story with a lot of steam.

Hot: Shay Bommer (Shane Burnett) and Zoe Chestain, both stranded in L.A. due to immense fog. Shay (Shane) working undercover trying to bring down, Cameron Stock. Doing all this to find and rescue his mother after 18 years. Tait Bommer, Shay's brother, has been searching for him, thinking he had went rouge and was working with the enemy, not knowing the whole truth, finally finds out why Shay was doing what he was doing. Together, Shay and Tait along with all the SOF team did rescue, Dr Melody Bommer. Shay and Zoe find their happy ever after.

This is book 6 of a 10 part series, although it can be read as a standalone. This continues the lives of the Special Ops boys. This one is the story of Shay Bommer and Zoe Chestain. It is equal parts sexy, steamy,dark, and exciting. There are many twists and turns to Shay's life in this book, some shocking and strangely twisted. If you like a good D/s story, you will not be disappointed. It ended a bit abruptly but overall, it was a great story and beautifully written.

Mine is the 2nd review
One night stands are supposed to be a lusty hot night of burning up the sheets. When morning comes, the parties separate and only remember the passion, nothing else. For Zoe Chestain, the mother hen of the Vegas dancers, experiencing a one night stand is not something she does. So when she does fall into bed with the sexy stranger Shay Bommer at the airport bar, it is a night to remember.
The sex in this story is good, but the BDSM is a bit strange. I can't quite put my finger on it. I think it's because the BDSM is romanticized, which is why it feels a little off for me. This works just fine in a kinky erotica romance. The scenes are not what I'd consider a guide for newbies to try out. They would be disappointed. Since this isn't a BDSM 101, I don't expect the author to be exactly on point.
The characters in this story are a hoot. Zoe's friends, specifically her bestie the gay model, are unreal. What is also unreal is how this series suddenly falls into a X-files type plot. As a standalone story, this story works. It falls into the para-human category. It's an over the top secret agent suspense with a back history of mother stolen. The missing mother plot reminds me of the American TV series Chuck. This series does have a similar wacky tone to it. HOT FOR HIS HOSTAGE is the one which seems to have jumped the shark, almost literally.
Ms. Payne may have packed too much into this story. There are many different plots going on at the same time as she forcefully ties it all together. This makes the story come across a bit clunky and slapstick comedy. The conflicts in this story are fine even if they do feel a bit contrived. Ms. Payne does a good job generating the obstacles for our hero to hurdle over. The way every issue is resolved may be a bit eye rolling. Perhaps it is a tongue-in-cheek poking fun of secret agent films.
Overall, this brings all the threads mostly to a close through friends in high places. There is a happily ever after in a whirlwind romance where the misjudged hero is redeemed. Recommended for romantic suspense lovers who are fans of Fifty Shades of Gray.

Hot was definitely the right title for this book! I loved how this book had just a bit of a different feel to it than the other Honor Bound books. It certainly made it stand out to me that much more. Shay Bommer (brother of Tait from the previous book) is definitely one sexy dom and Zoe is definitely his match.
I loved how there was just this otherworldly feel to this book. While all of the books can be read as stand alone, I have felt that they have all intertwined together in some way. This book was no different as the bad guys have seemed to travel from the last book into this one.
As to not leave spoilers, I won't go into much depth about what happens, but I will say my heart absolutely broke for Shay going through everything he went through not only as a child but what he goes through during the novel. I was so happy he had Zoe to support him during his dark moments and stay by his side even though he may have forgotten her. I love how she stayed strong for her man in the literal sense and helps to rescue him.
The last chapter of this book and especially the last few pages made my heart soar for this couple. I loved the witty wedding invitation at the end (that's not a spoiler right? Angel Payne usually gives us our HEA). I won't say what's included at the end of the invite to leave the mystery there for you all!
Another 5 star read from my favorite author! If you haven't read this yet it is absolutely worth the buy!

This book was not what I expected and that is a great thing in my opinion! I am new to Angel Payne’s writing and she definitely has my attention! Zoe and Shane Burnett( Shay Bommer) meet in a airport bar while being fogged in, Zoe and her dancer friends are passing the time drinking, they are she isn’t, in walks sex on a stick Shane Burnett dressed in dress slacks and shirt and on his phone, the girls try to get his attention, he isn’t interested but he is interested in Zoe. Long story short the girls get to drunk and he helps Zoe get them back to the hotel safely and then Zoe spends a very kinky night with Shane but ends up losing her heart to him in the process and vice versa. There are things in this book that broke my heart and also made me cheer and cuss like a sailor!

HOT... Yes, that is exactly what this book was.. This one was definitely different than the other books in the series, however, that is for sure not a bad thing!
Shay and Zoe... I can only say HOT, sexy, and on fire! Shay is the sexy dom that you have all been waiting for. Shay has been through so much during his life both childhood and adulthood. You really feel for him during this book. Deep down he is broken and helpless, but you would never know that. Zoe is just what he needs and oh so much more. She supports him during his lowest and darkest moments. Trust me half the time you will be on the edge of your seat.
This book will blow your mind.. While it can be read as a standalone I do recommend reading the series in order to get the most out of it.

An absolute HOT read! Angel Payne provided us with another amazing story. Shane Burnett aka Shay Bommer is under cover tracking down his long lost mother. In a turn of events, he meets the woman of his dreams in Zoe Chastain. This book is full of romance, love for family and the need to help others along with the ones you love. It shows the ultimate sacrifice being done to save others selflessly and how individuals will go to the ends of the earth to save the ones they love. All of the Honor Bound books are absolutely amazing but this one makes you think. It is the best one yet! Congrats, Angel Payne, on the amazing job with this book and the series!

This is book 6 in the Honor Bound series and boy do these just keep getting better. Hot was the perfect title for this book! Shay and Zoe meet in an Airport and who knew that it would lead to an amazing night that neither could pass of as a 1 night stand. But when you throw in the drama, action and craziness that is the life of these Special Forces soldiers you get an amazing story that you can’t put down until you finish it. Angel has outdone herself again with another installation to this series and I can’t wait to read more to this series. This book can be read as a standalone but highly recommended to read it in order.

This book was indeed HOT! I identified strongly with Zoe, her character was strong while being very empathetic, fulfilling the role of mother hen to those she cared about. She was take no nonsense female that I just adored. Shay, well damn what do you say about this kick ass alpha male whose only real weakness was the woman tied to his heart from the moment he saw her. The strength these two had as a couple was awe inspiring. This novel was definitely a fantastic read.
All that being said, the ending of this novel left me in all kinds of WHAT THE HELL, and I cannot wait to dive into the next book to discover if we find out what happens!

Shay (aka Shane) didn't know that a layover in a fogged in airport was going to alter his life. While he finds out things about himself from years ago Zoe helps him overcome...while the Special Forces guys helps fight off the bad guys. Her knowledge and caring with BDSM is enlightening and wonderful. Another must read. Waiting for the next installment with baited breath.

So I finished this book about two weeks ago and it has taken me this long to write my review. Let me start off by saying WOW!!!!! This book just blew my mind. I've struggled to find words to express what I felt reading it. Angel Payne said she was worried because this book was the "Weird" one in the series. Well yes it was, but in the most amazing way. It is like the others but this one makes you think. I'm honored that I was given a chance to read it before the release date. PLEASE READ.!!!!! Another HOT HOT HOT and awesome addition to the Honor Bound series.. This is the story of Shay (Shane) and Zoe, both stranded at an airport due to dense fog and spend one fantastic night together. This story had lots of twists and turns and mouth-dropping suspense as well as panty-dropping steam! Love the chemistry between Shay and Zoe. What a great book.

Angel has done it again. I have fallen for her stories. She draws you into the emotions and lives of the characters and you feel their triumphs and pain. Hot is the 6th book in this series and it’s seriously Hot. I ,over how she intermingles characters from previous books. Zoe and Shay’s story is fantastic and what a ride!
