The Epistle of James is important for its moral and ethical teaching to the church. This is a verse-by-verse Bible study that will provide Christians with a thorough and complete understanding of this challenging epistle.
Susan J. Heck was married for 46 years to her beloved husband and pastor, Doug Heck, who was a faithful Shepherd for 50 years. I have been doing Susan Heck's Bible studies on You tube for over a year. I fell in love with the way she talks about God and the Bible and teaches good sound doctrine. If it isn't in the Bible, she doesn't teach it. She doesn't teach from her personal perspective. She teaches the TRUTH straight from the BIBLE. This is the first of her books that I have read, and I absolutely loved it. Her studies give me such insight into the Bible and into growing my knowledge and my own faith. Will she step on your toes? Yes! Will you thank her for it? Yes! If you are looking for an excellent, accurate, truthful women's Bible study, this is the best one that I have found. I definitely recommend!!
Susan Heck is the most biblically solid female Bible teacher of our time in my opinion. She doesn’t sugar coat anything which involves hard truths that we need to hear regarding what the Bible says about sin, Christian living, and theology. The study questions are formatted to keep you in the entire Bible including relevant questions that lead to the Old Testament, prompts for scripture memory, and personal reflection. She encourages great hermeneutics and uses an expository approach to James. After finishing, I truly feel like I have a good handle on understanding James and how to live it out!
I LOVED this study. I did it with a friend and we both were convicted lesson after lesson by biblical truths about holy living. Susan Heck is my favorite female Bible teacher BY FAR because she bases all her teaching around what Gods Word says not how we feel or what we want it to say. She is an excellent expositor going verse by verse to help women understand their bibles better and in turn, know God better. Her care for women and their spiritual well-being exudes out of the intense preparation and work that goes into each chapter. I thank the Lord for Susan Heck’s ministry and what God has used her to do for His kingdom. This is a rare jewel among women’s Bible study resources!!
Powerful book that is very thorough and extensive! An excellent overview of James and had questions at the end of each chapter and Bible memorization for each chapter as well. This book covered many topics that are relevant to the women in the church today and addressed many sins that we often have in our lives. The author throughout the book questioned the salvation of the reader if they were not bearing good fruit. I think that is a good idea to do as many who profess Christ don't really know Him and definitely don't live like they do. One of my favorite parts was when she talked about how we in this day use the Lord's name in vain by using words that are derived from God or Jesus, like g*sh, geez, etc. I believe these are sins and are a stain on many Christian's lives.
