Trip y su grupo ya tienen varias espadas mata-dragones, ahora solo tienen que encontrar el portal y destruirlo para que no puedan seguir ingresando dragones al planeta. Pero sus espadas no parecen hacerle mucho danos a los dragones, asi que tendra que ir aprendiendo sobre la marcha como utilizar sus poderes mentales para que los dragones bajen sus escudos y asi poder atacarlos con sus otras armas. Y aunque no quiere aceptar realmente esos poderes, quizas sea la unica oportunidad que tengan para poder defenderse y lograr llegar al portal.
Pero tendran que enfrentar no solo a los dragones, sino tambien a un grupo de "cientificos" Confaurs que estan tambien en la busqueda del portal, pero no para destruirlo sino para llevarselo a su reino y asi controlar todos los dragones que ingresaban y poder conquistar todo el planeta. Solo la habilidad y los poderes del grupo podran llevarlos a completar su mision, pero quizas Trip no logre conservar las amistades que ha ganado en cuanto se descurba su secreto.
Este libro es de aventuras desde el principio hasta el fin, no tiene un minuto de descanso, aunque hay pequenos momentos entretenidos (sobre todos con las espadas), el resto de la trama es accion tras accion, y en cuanto comienzas es casi imposible detener la lectura.
Me encanto la forma como conversaban las soulblades, como Trip poco a poco logra convencerse que no importa lo que pase, debe descubrirse y aceptar que su vida nunca va a poder ser lo que sono. Y tambien me encanto la forma como Rhysa intentaba protegerlo a toda costa, incluso interfiriendo en sus hechizos. Me rei muchisimo con el Trip escandalizado por la hechizera, y con Kaika riendose de Rhysa por su "enamoramiento" de Trip.
Pero tambien me incomodo cuando me volvi a dar cuenta que esta es una continuacion o spin-off de una serie anterior, porque hubieron muchos "chistes", que no se entienden si no has leido los libros anteriores, sobre todo con los dragones que sacaron de la carcel y con el Coronel y la hechizera cuando llegan a casa.
En fin, me esta gustando mucho esta saga, voy a terminarla y probablemente comience la original para poder entenderla mejor.

Revelations is awesome. My chief complaint about Dragon Storm, its lack of movement, is addressed so well in this book. The action is brilliant and I can actually remember the high points.
The pacing as well as plot in the book are great. We get to see the heroes in a race against time to close the Dragon Portal and this sets the scene for great actin sequences. Trip is also slowly coming into his power though his unwillingness to share his ancestry felt really stupid to me.
Overall, a great second book.

“Power that’s growing ever more impossible to hide…”
Ok, a bit of s disclaimer here: I adore Lindsay Buroker’s books, whether they’re steampunk, star empire, fantasy, SFR under a pen name or anything else, they’ve all been superb. She’s simply the platinum standard for indie sci fi and fantasy authors as far as I’m concerned (and no, I’ve never met the lady other than through her books so I’m perfectly capable of being objective here). No surprise then that I was excited when she started a new series, Heritage of Power, or that I enjoyed Dragon Storm, it’s book 1, so much. And now we have Revelations, book 2 of the series, and boy is this ever s treat. Even ignoring my weakness for books with dragons in them, and never mind just how cool Jaxi is (a sentient soulblade, c’mon!), Telryn “Trip” Yert, Kaika and Rysha are beautifully crafted, complex characters and it’s a pleasure following along as they interact with each other and the well-crafted world around them with its fine cast of supporting characters. This may indeed be Trip’s most important mission but he and his companions will handle it in style - and we’ll learn an awful lot of cool stuff about Trip along the way. Total adventure. Total thrills. Total fun.

Review of the series:
I read this series before finishing the prequel series. While you do get some spoilers about what's to come in the other series you otherwise don't need to read the other one to enjoy this one. It incorporates Lindsay's trademarks- her silly, light humor, her quirky unconventional characters and lots of action.
None of this author's books contain a lot of worldbuilding. That works for me because I can fill in a good bit on my own. Plus, too much detail will drag down the pace. However, if you need a lot of complex worldbuilding and details then your enjoyment might be diminished.
Her characters are all quirky and unconventional heroes and heroines. That is one of the things I love about this author, how her characters are all unusual and misfits in their own ways. For the most part they start as underdogs and grow into their potential which is very satisfying to read. Her books are very much character and action driven.
I also love the female positivity in her books. They aren't the in your face, all men are bad and women rule and are superior types. They simply show a variety of really strong women in very different ways who display different types of competency. They also easily hold their own next to men.
If you like some light hearted fantasy that doesn't take itself too seriously, along with some humor then give this author a try. Humor is always very personal and not everyone enjoys the same types. This author's humor tends to be a little screwball, perhaps a bit sophomoric, broad and droll. If you need more of a highbrow type of wit looks elsewhere. I think her humor adds to the feel of her books, that they are for escapism and not meant to be taken overly seriously. Basically, her books are great for getting away from the real world for a bit.

PS! This review is for the first five books in the Heritage of Power series/the entire series (depending on whether Buroker decides to grace her readers with more stories about these characters).
I read the entire series back to back, and honestly, I don't think I could easily differentiate between these five books just because the plot flowed easily and honestly it just felt like one story to me. Sure, there were different plots to each of them, but the romance between Trip and one bespectacled officer made the story flow like one story for me.
I loved meeting some of my old favourites from Buroker's "Dragon Blood" series - some of those characters were more prominent, such as Jaxi and Bhrava Saruth, but they didn't take over the series as their own. It was still mostly Trip's story and really, really enjoyed it.
Buroker herself has said that Heritage of Power is a different series from Dragon Blood and if one wished, they could simply skip Dragon Blood before diving into this series, but I actually feel as if some of the reading experience would be lost that way. I have read all of the books in the Dragon Blood series and I still felt that some parts needed a bit refreshing as some connections between different characters or their backgrounds weren't as clear as they maybe could have been. However, Buroker did a great job at trying to describe these different relationships without spoiling the contents of the other series if a reader hasn't read any or some of those books.
And as always with Buroker's books - once you start, it's really, really difficult to stop and once you do finish with all of the books, you feel like you want more. I definitely want more as I need to know what happens to Shulina Arya and if she finds herself someone as well.

Honestly, I don't know what it is with me and this series, but we just don't fully click. Lindsay Buroker is never less than entertaining, so I definitely enjoyed this second romp with Trip, Rysha, the rest of the crew and their assorted sentient swords, but somehow it still falls short of the brilliant and hilarious experience most of her books tend to be for me. Ah well... "not quite as awesome" is still pretty damn good.

The series just keeps getting better. Rysha, Trip, and of course, Kaika were all great characters in this book. The other characters were more secondary but had their parts in the story. The PoV changes between Rysha and Trip, usually every chapter, sometimes within the same chapter, but it all feels natural. Again, I must say these characters have really grabbed me and I love the budding romance between Rysha and Trip. They have a great chemistry and I love how goofy and awkward they can be around each other.
The story is action-packed and although it's part of a series it also can stand alone in its story arc. The characters grow over the course of the story and the plot moves forward and resolves well, but still left me wanting more with the next book. I seriously love this series and can't wait to start the next book (I have started the next book actually).

A humorous and believable story

Very good
This book was very good, and I am really enjoying this series. The characters are wonderful and relatable. I hate there has to be anything keeping Trip and the girl apart. Glad I found this author. Totally caught up in this story, and have a hard time putting it down.

The second in the new Heritage of Power series, the story continues on with Captain Trip Yert and the mission to destroy a portal that is allowing dragons to return to the world they were banished from centuries ago. He now has two soulblades assisting him and the team has also recovered three legendary dragon killing swords, which try to influence their wielders to kill magic users and/or anyone with dragon blood. This makes it difficult for Trip to keep the secret he’s been hiding, especially when he must use his power to fight attacking dragons and the magic swords keep trying to influence his team members to attack him. I’m really enjoying this series - I love the shy and humble Trip, his love interest Lieutenant Rysha Ravenwood, and the rest of the quirky, wise cracking members of the team. And then there are the dragons, oh my. Not only are there evil dragons trying to kill or enslave humans, but there are friendly dragons that are human allies. I can’t wait to read the next book in the series, Origins, to continue the adventure.

I couldn't wait to get hold of the second book after I read the first. The book is true to its title, Revelations. Trip and this reader become aware of what he truly is and is capable of at the same time. Trip is such a lovable character and a reluctant hero. The story gets more and more exciting as there are more dragons and adventures. Major Blazer's rag tag team embark on a mission to destroy the portal that was used by dragons to re-enter the human world. They meet a lot of interesting Cofah characters along the way. There is an undeniably growing attraction between Rysha and Trip but as Trip is considered odd mostly by himself, will their relationship flourish? I stayed up late to finish this book and immediately started on the third. Can't get enough of this new dragon series.
Lindsay creates a variety of characters in her stories and all types of people are well-represented. Her imagination knows no bounds. I wouldn't be able to think up the twists in her stories. She is full of surprises.

Wonderfully descriptive and with characters you can’t help rooting for. Each adds something to the story. Sometimes it might just be a laugh.

Trip was positive it wasn’t manly to panic when a woman came close, but sweat dampened his palms, and he could feel his heart slamming against his ribs.
And Jaxi the soulblade, of course...
The application of fire makes all projects better.
But as always, Ridge stole the show for me. Even if he was only there for a small part of it.
”Life tip, Trip,” Zirkander said, not looking up from the file he perused. “If a woman shows interest in your sword, you should always chat with her.”
So, so good. Love this world and can’t wait to read more.

I have been reading fantasy novels for a long time. This is an exciting new series from a very good author. The plot line is crisp and there is excellent development if the characters.

I'm enjoying Trip & Rysha's adventures
I guessed the obvious "revelation" re. Trip's "heritage" early, but that was not a deterrent to enjoying the team's dragon-fighting and all the rest of the action and wisecracks. The soulblade that belonged to the pirate sorceress eventually speaks up, differing priorities lead to conflict with some of the Cofah, and several old friends/allies are found. Trip still struggles for too long to hide his magical abilities, even as both soulblades coach him in using them. The tentative romance between the leads progresses slowly, given Rysha's difficulty in resisting the violent urges which the dragon-blood-hating sword she must wield causes, while she herself finds a distaste for the death that's a required part of any soldier's life.
I'm going to go straight on to book 3.

Visiting with old friends and some new ones
Among all the great stories that ms. Buroker has created, my favorite is the Dragon’s series. It was a great pleasure to revisit the world of Sardelle and Zirkander and meet with some new characters that it was easy to like.
A great writer is able to weave a story line with interesting characters , exciting adventures and action. LB is definitely a master. The proof of someone’s greatness is when you pick up a book a year later you remember the previous ones vividly, both the story and the people. This two books were like going back home after a long absence and enjoying every minute of it. Please Lindsay don’t let us wait too long for the next chapter in Trips adventures.

More dragon adventure
I just love all of the books in this series. Each one is better than the last and the original characters, Ridge and Sardelle, now seem like old friends. Trip 's story continues with the quest to find and destroy the portal allowing dragons to re-enter the world. In the process, he finds himself being increasingly drawn to Lt. Ravenwood, who seems to return his interest. Although no longer technically at war with the Cofare, tensions still run high between the two countries and it's an uneasy alliance at best. There is plenty of action and lots of snarky humor that fans of the series will have come to expect. I'm very glad that the next book is releasing soon because I can't wait to read it!

When I started book 1 I was skeptical. I have never read a book about dragons, so I wasn’t sure if I would like it. But this world is captivating and has some interesting elements of magic. I don’t love everything about the story, but I am definitely enjoying learning about the world through Trip. I know it’s a common plot device, but learning about something through the main character, as he also experiences it for the first time, is very entertaining. I will definitely read the 3rd book!
Overall, this is a corny series and a little cliche - but if you can get past that and allow yourself to enjoy a fun/silly guilty-pleasure book - then you will probably like it too.

Book 2 in the series was awesome. Trip and the team are headed to a frozen area that is not typically inhabited by humans in order to attempt to locate the dragon portal. The encounter a Cofah team that does not seem to have the same goals as the Iskandians, and they don't - they want to move the portal and only allow dragons who are loyal to the Cofah empire through. The book moved quickly and I enjoyed the further development of Trip and Rysha's characters.

Totally better than the first book and more engaging! Trip slowly to get to know how to used his magic and able to defend himself and his comrades. I like the team but their belief about magic is kinda bit irritating especially Leftie. I like him but his belief make me hate him more. The balance of magic, swords and dragons story plot is better than the first book. I'm glad I decided to continue the series because I never regretted reading this book!
