Viper and Dallas are two characters who holds on to your heart. Elle James pull you in so that you learn the characters. Can feel what they feel and realize that the journey they are on is simply amazing. Heart warming even though there is danger you can only hope they over come everything going on and find their HEA. Dang Elle James you know how to bring it.

She blames herself for their deaths and is wallowing after losing part of her leg. She gets a job offer with the brotherhood which has her pretending to be a bride to catch a person who is attacking just married couples. Final Notes... I know that it is too late for this series but please vary the ending dramatical sequence with new series!
A few things are a significant bother. 1. Very little communication between the brotherhood members. 2. With a few exceptions, they all seem to work alone. 3. Every story has the h getting captured and partially/fully rescued by the H. 4. The h always makes a TSTL move which leads to their capture.
1 and 2 are very unrealistic as SEALs and Delta Force work in teams to maximize success.
3 is frustrating and I just skip forward now to get past the near death drama to the dramatic rescue. It also hurts the reputation of the members of the Brotherhood as they failed to keep their charges safe.
4 just says that the h's emotions always get them in trouble.
Dallas Hayes work very hard to become an Army Ranger. Being the only female in a team of males, anytime something went wrong it was blamed on her being jinx. On a mission in Syria things went wrong and half her team was killed. Dallas sustained an injury as well and lost the lower half of her left leg. Due to the injury Dallas was medially discharged from the military and was sent back to the states. After receiving physical therapy at Walter Reed Dallas is headed to Brighter Days Rehab Ranch in Montana for some additional help and therapy per therapist advised she needed. Dallas is introduced to Hank Patterson the leader of the Brotherhood Protectors who offers her a job with the group. Dallas never thought she was be fit to work for anyone since she in no longer whole. Hank has an assignment for her already. Dallas will be working with Vince "Viper" Van Cleave a retired Delta Force soldier. They will pose as a couple getting married to help catch the person sabotaging weddings in the area. The wedding announcement has placed in the paper now they need to start the process of planning the wedding. They meet with the wedding planner to start the process and there next stop is the florist. From that moment one, they have made themselves targets and have to stay on their toes to keep each other safe. With all the attempts to stop the wedding will they be able to keep each other safe or will this mission end with one or both of them injured or dead? I love this book. I love Dallas, she is independent, stubborn and headstrong. She has stayed in shape and is ready to show what she is really made of. I love Viper, he has had heartache in his past but will he be able to get past it to a new future? This book has a lot going on , personal issues, past trauma and heartache, sabotage with the threat of bodily harm and underneath it all a spark of something better to come if Dallas and Viper can put down their guards. This is a great story and a must read.
Dallas Hayes was raised by her father to hunt, fish and ride four wheelers and to take care of herself. Joining the Army she gave it her all and became a Army Ranger and vowed to show the men she was just as strong and able as them. She long ago gave up any girly side she had and any future she might of had ended when she lost her leg. No man would want her now. Her dream now is to find a job and get on with her life. Vince “Viper” Van Cleave’s wife and child died when he was deployed, he feels he will never find love again. He’s now a retired Delta Force and is at a loss of what to do and having a hard time fitting into civilian life. He’s offered a job with the Brotherhood Protectors, he’ll give it a try but not sure he’s up for just protecting socialites. Someone is sabotaging weddings in the area, if their not stopped soon someone just might loose their life. The Brotherhood hires Dallas to partner up with Viper as the happy newly engaged couple in hopes of ferreting out the sabotage. Dallas knows nothing about weddings, hell she barely feels like a girl anymore. Now she’s to act like the blushing bride and Viper seems to be willing to kiss her all the time? For the first time in years Viper has feeling for a woman, she’s strong and independent and totally does not know how desirable she is. The more time they spend together the more their feelings grow. With danger at every turn Viper and Dallas may not make it to their fake wedding or to tell each other how they truly feel. Viper and Dallas had great chemistry and lively banter it was fun to watch Dallas come in to herself. The story was full of twists and turns, good suspense and a villain I didn’t see coming. I just felt like the story was missing something and I’d didn’t flow well at times.
Hank Peterson created the Brotherhood Protectors, a bodyguard business, employing retired military. His most recent recruit is Vince "Viper" Van Cleave, retired Delta Force. He is a widower, who lost this wife and newborn to complications, while he was away on deploymentt. Six years later, he still feels the guilt of not being there for her. Ex-Army Ranger, Dallas Hayes, lost her leg in her last mission, but was the only one to survive. Aside from feeling not whole, she has survivors guilt. Her therapist thought that the Brighter Days Rehab Ranch, would be a good idea for her. The Ranch was established to help wounded warriors and rescued horses move on with their lives, learning that they can do anything that they set their minds to by finding another way to do things without the use of the limbs that they lost, and relying on teamwork. Something nefarious has been having at weddings in the area over the last few weeks, with the brides and grooms barely making it out alive. Hank hires Dallas and her first assignment is to pretend to be engaged to Viper with a quick wedding to be put together in 2 weeks, hoping to catch the culprit. Dallas doesn't have confidence in herself as a woman, but Viper already finds her attractive and slowly works on building her confidence, by teasing and kissing. As the wedding date gets closer, will they be able to deduce why someone seems to hate weddings and who the attempted murder is before another attempt is made? Will Dallas and Viper survive the wedding plans? Will they recognize the hope that they have given each other and that they can fall in love before it is too late? I read a free copy and this is my unbiased and volunteer review
Vince "Viper" Van Cleave was Retired from Delta Force, who lost his wife and newborn baby and recently joined Brotherhood Protectors and his first assignment leads him to his second one after sabotage his new brother in arms wedding and a fellow Brotherhood Protectors Agent. He needs to find the person who sabotage newlyweds and weddings and partnered with Dallas Hayes who we met at Taz and Hannah's story, a retired Army Ranger who lost her leg and unit from her last active duty that leads her to medically retire and went to Brighter Days Ranch and become of the guest/patient there. She was also recruited by Hank and her first assignment was to pretend to be engaged to Viper and together they are both need to lure out and catch the saboteur so that no one be the next wedding or newlywed to get sabotage.
I love both Viper and Dallas. Both of them are retired from their service and experience lost in their lives. Dallas lost her unit and cost a leg on her last mission while Viper lost his wife and newborn child while he's on duty from away from home. Pretending to be a newly engaged couple didn't stop them to fall in love to each other. Especially to Dallas, that everything is new to her experience, a new life, a new job, new friends/family and someone who loves her despite lost one leg. Both of them have a character development and chemistry. I knew it one point that I already guess who was the culprit for sabotaging the weddings.
What I love about this book is giving the honor and respect for those men and women in military who sacrifice their lives to keep us safe from terror attack. Also on giving a chance for those who get injured and return to civilian life.
Dallas, a medically retired Army Ranger, is having trouble adjusting to life without a leg. She finds herself at Brighter Days Rehabilitation Ranch in hopes of working out some of her issues. While there, she works along side other former military men who are also adjusting to life without various limbs. At the ranch, she is not considered "less than" or a "curse" to the men in the unit. Instead, the men rally around and support each other.
Vince, also known as "Viper", is also retired from the Army serving as a sniper. Viper has also had trouble adjusting to life after the Army, not really finding his purpose. He is plagued with guilt for not being there when his wife and baby needed him and knows he's not cut out for a relationship. When Hank, of Brotherhood Protection Agency, offers him a job he jumps at the opportunity to make a difference. But when his first assignment has him in a "fake" marriage, he's not sure if he can play the part.
Dallas, raised by her father as more of a tomboy, is in over her head as a fiancé. She doesn't even own a dress or know how to apply makeup! Viper hasn't wanted to kiss or even hold hands with a woman since his wife died. If they can work together long enough to capture the saboteur before he kills someone, they will have proven their worth to Hank.
Quirky, fun, suspenseful.... I enjoyed how the girls supported Dallas and took her under their wings. Viper's ribbing of Dallas was highly entertaining. Dallas' yearning to be more feminine, but tough was very realistic. Dallas and Vioer made excellent partners and more. I loved the twist at the end! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Retired Delta Force Soldier, Vince "Viper" Van Cleave has just joined the Brotherhood Protectors and his first assignment leads to a second one, stop a wedding saboteur before someone is killed. Enter Dallas Hayes one of only a handful of female Army Rangers who is rehabbing at the Brighter Days Ranch.
She lost her whole unit and part of her leg. He lost his wife and child and both carry lots of baggage and guilt. While it's explained how he became a widow it isn't quite clear what happened when she lost her whole team and her leg. But somehow together they must act like an engaged couple in order to flush out the saboteur who almost killed a fellow Brotherhood Protector, his new wife, and another fellow Brotherhood Protector who was driving the happy couple to the airport.
Dallas is a hard sell because while she wants to feel like a part of society again and work, she has baggage and is still trying to come to grips with her feminine side because always a tomboy. Gradually Viper makes her feel feminine while taking down her walls as she makes him feel things he hasn't since losing his family. Thing happen fast and their is an instant attraction on both their parts with makes their story move believable when their "fake" wedding is announced.
It was a good fast read and Dallas is tough as nails but underneath all that she is a woman who deserves to be loved. Vince is perfect for her and it's fun to see them banter as he likes to poke her to get a rise out of her. She is a badass but not so much so that she doesn't need Vince.
Vince 'Viper' Van Cleeve's first assignment for the Brotherhood Protectors seems like a piece of cake, provide escort to Hannah and Taz as they head to the airport to fly to their honeymoon destination. With Chuck driving the limo, everything seems to be going right on schedule, until it isn't. A close call that leads to a very interesting assignment.
Dallas Hayes is a former Ranger, having lost part of her leg in combat she is now at Brighter Days Rehab Ranch to figure out what her life will be going forward. Hank Patterson has been looking forward to the day that he can ask her to join his Brotherhood Protectors and now he has the perfect reason. He needs Dallas to be Viper's bride to catch whoever is sabotaging weddings in the area, more important now that Taz and Hannah had been targeted.
Who knew that planning a fake wedding could lead to romance. I loved the way Viper broke through Dallas' insecurities. The descriptions of his kisses will have you wanting to sample one yourself.
No matter what Dallas does, she can't deny the fact that when Viper kisses her she wants more. However she doesn't feel she deserves any of it. I loved her fumbling with the wedding planning, her balking over wearing a dress, and her realizing she really wished it was all for real.
Several hair-raising incidents, very few clues and a surprise twist will have you turning the pages.
>Book Review – Montana Ranger Wedding Vow >I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 8th in the Brotherhood Protectors series and ends in an HEA. Viper is retired military. He comes to Montana to work for the Brotherhood Protectors as a way to keep using his skills and to get over the death of his wife and child. Dallas is one of only a few female Army Rangers. She lost her leg and her squad and is now rehabbing in Montana at a farm for wounded vets. Dallas has spent so much of her life trying to prove she can fit in a man’s world that she doesn’t really know how to be a female. >Someone is sabotaging weddings in Montana. Dallas and Viper pose as an engaged couple in order to bring the perpetrator to justice. The mystery is a bit weak, but there is a lot of action and close calls for everyone in this series and especially Dallas and Viper. The scenes with Viper and Dallas pretending to be in love are so sweet. Nothing is gratuitous and Viper has a hard time trying to remember everything is pretend. >Dallas is a tough person, but so very insecure, especially about her leg. Viper is the perfect, accepting and loving mate for her. This book will keep you on the edge of your seat while also presenting a wonderful romance. This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 5 stars.
Montana Ranger's Wedding Vow starts off with a heart-stopping scene that grabbed my attention and and didn't let go. Someone is sabotaging weddings/newlyweds and a limousine carrying a newly married couple goes over a cliff.
While this book can easily be read as a standalone without fear of being lost, I loved that we got to revisit some of the characters from earlier books in the series.
A retired D-Force soldier, Viper is new to the Brotherhood Protector's. He is partnered with Dallas, a medically retired Army Ranger who lost part of her leg serving her country. They pose as an engaged couple planning their wedding, to try and draw out the saboteur.
The story had several heart-pounding moments but the scene where Viper rescues Dallas may be one of the most exciting I've ever read by Elle James.
I had two small issues with the story: 1. There was no mention of an engagement ring for Dallas. Even though it was a fake engagement there should have been a ring. 2. In the scene where Viper rescues Dallas he was cut up but there was no mention of patching him up (I can't say more without spoilers).
If you like romantic suspense, and hot former military characters, you should enjoy Montana Ranger's Wedding Vow.
An advanced copy of this book was provided to me but my review was voluntary and not influenced by the author.
Montana Ranger's Wedding Vow is the eighth book in The Brotherhood Protectors Series by Elle James. This series is a great blend of romance, action, and suspense - which is all set against the rugged backdrop of Montana. These books introduce us to a team of former military heroes who dedicate their lives to protecting others, all while navigating their own personal battles. Ms. James’ characters are definitely the heart of this series, and each protector is uniquely crafted, with a mix of strength, vulnerability, and charm. Their camaraderie and loyalty to one another also creates a sense of family that adds an extra element to the stories/series. These plots are fast-paced and packed with twists, cleverly blending high-stakes danger with heartfelt romance. Whether it's a SEAL turned cowboy, or a sniper finding love amidst chaos, each book delivers a satisfying mix of adrenaline and emotion. Elle James also weaves in themes of redemption, trust, and healing, making the series not just entertaining, but also heartfelt. With gripping storylines, endearing characters, and just the right amount of heat, this is a series that will leave you eagerly reaching for the next installment. Happy Reading…
Ms James takes us back to Montana and the Brotherhood Protectors . This time the story belongs to new hire, Vince “ Viper” Van Cleave, a retired D-Force soldier and Dallas Hayes, former Army Ranger, recovering at the Brighter Days Rehab Ranch. Dallas lost part of her leg ,and feels less of a person and a woman and is still not sure about her future. When she is offered a job with the Brotherhood Protectors to go undercover, she takes it. These two have been paired to go undercover as future bride and groom in order to find out who is causing problems in the weddings of the town. From the beginning, it’s obvious that they are attracted to each other. But both have personal obstacles to overcome . As the story progresses, Viper and Dallas secretly are wondering if their “make believe” is really that , or are their feelings real. It’s a story full of suspense, whodunit, humor , heartbreaking moments but also heartwarming. I always appreciate the fact that the author reminds us of the sacrifices these courageous men and women make for us in the name of freedom. For that , thank you , Ms James. I was gifted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
I do love the brotherhood protectors from Elle James. We meet Vince aka viper in this 8th book in the series. We have Hank and some of the other characters from other books in as well and we also meet a strong heroine called Dallas. Viper has been offered a job by Hank to join the protectors and he is a tag along for one of the teams wedding day to the senators daughter so they can get to the airport safely. An accident occurs and viper saves their lives although the driver was in hospital.
Dallas is at a therapy ranch after her near death as a ranger. She lost her leg and struggles with it. She wants a job but isn't to sure what to do until Hank arrives to offer her a job but they need to find the person who is putting newly weds in danger. So viper and Dallas have to come together to pose as a couple getting married. Will they be able to pull it off and catch the bad guy? With viper wrestling with his past and the memory of his dead wife and baby and Dallas dealing with her whole teams death as well as her injuries will there ever be anything more than just collegues? A wonderful book that I really enjoyed and can't wait for any others. I received an advanced reader copy
New lives, New life This book starts out fast, hard and heavy. Vince "Viper" Van Cleave (ex Delta Force and widower) has been hired by Brotherhood Protectors and finds out immediately how tough things can be when an easy escort assignment turns deadly. Weddings and honeymooners from Eagle Rock, Montana are in danger, someone is determined to ruin their happy beginning. Hank Patterson, boss of Brotherhood Protectors decides the best approach to find the culprit is a fake wedding. He hires his first female operative when he convinces Dallas Hayes (ex Army Ranger and recent amputee) to join in the hunt for the wedding 'jinx." It's apparent from the start that the chemistry between Viper and Dallas is electric. They are both smart, good looking and experienced operators. It's interesting and captivating to follow their investigation into their suspects and clues. Their relationship grows stronger as they proceed and both realize this is more than a work assignment. Stimulating, exciting and breathtaking this story is captivating and rewarding. Such a great story for a wonderful couple who deserve happiness, no matter how hard it is to earn their happy ending.
Dallas Hayes is your typical girl next door but she is a kickass soldier! She may have lost a leg but she is still tough as nails and will forever be one of the few female Rangers. When a series of accidents strike at weddings nearby her rehab ranch, she is offered a job that is perfect for her...become part of the Brotherhood!
Vince has lost his family and now retired he was a loose end until he was offered a job with the Brotherhood. On his first job he nearly lost a bride and groom when the brakes of their limo were tampered with. He and Dallas get paired up to pretend to be a couple needing a rapidly planned wedding to entice the saboteur out.
Dallas is defo not a girly girly! I feel for her as I'm the same, make up, shoes, handbags, etc leave me cold! But she puts on a brave face for the sake of the case. She and Vince make a great couple. He never looks down on her as less then him, if anything her skills attracts her to him more! They can banter like teammates and then flick the switch to romance! I loves seeing Dallas gain more of her confidence back as her involvement in the "fake" wedding went on. Great read & a bad guy you won't see coming!
Firstly I would like to think that this book, beyond its intriguing story, is a sort of tribute for those men and women who served their country at their best but owing to regrettable incidents retired from their military service and decided to start a new life trying their best to reintegrate into the society. This is the story of Viper and Dallas who have retired from the armed forces and are teamed up to catch a criminal who is ruining weddings and is a menace for the locals. Dallas externally is a tough woman who has lost her leg during a mission but deep down inside is full of insecurities. Viper, on the other hand, is a charming soldier who has lost his wife and child while being on a mission. The perfect match! What initially begins as an assignment with a strategy, suddenly turns out to be something more as both get to know each other better and better. The story is full of action and very fast paced but there also lots of moments in which the reader will root for a happy ending between two characters who actually deserve happiness. Another wonderful book by Elle James.
Someone has been sabotaging weddings. His or her deadly escapades have resulted in serious injury to the happy brides and grooms. Hank Patterson, head of the Brotherhood Protector's and former Seal has an idea how to ferret out the perpetrator behind these dangerous acts. He hires Dallas Hayes a medically discharged women ranger and ex-Delta Force soldier Vince “Viper” Van Cleave to pretend to get married and have a big wedding service to flush out the saboteur. The question is will the pretend wedding turn into the real thing? The story sort of dragged in the beginning and was hard to wade through but Ms. James ending was both exciting and intriguing. Montana Ranger's Wedding Vow is not a bad book it just isn't a great book. If you can keep reading the story until the very end you will not be sorry you did.
I received this advanced copy and I am freely posting this fair and balanced review.
In Montana Ranger’s Wedding Vow, prepare to take a ride that will include all the feels. Vince, aka Viper, has just started with the Brotherhood Protectors and he’s already had to save three people from a mysterious car accident. Dallas has been gaining her confidence after losing one of her legs as an Army Ranger. Hank Patterson sees an opportunity to help the community after a rash of weddings have had suspicious accidents. He brings these two together for one hell of an undercover assignment. Get married! The more time these two spend together the less fake this wedding begins to look. As Dallas prepares to walk down the aisle she’s confronted with the person who has been sabotaging weddings. Will Vince save Dallas? Will their fake wedding turn into a real wedding? One click this today. If it’s your first Elle James novel I promise it won’t be your last. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! They’re just that good.
Another amazing book by the talented writer Elle James. Vince, a retired Delta Force Soldier and Dallas, a medically retired Army Ranger are both hired by Hank Patterson (leader of the Brotherhood Protectors). Their mission is to fake being in love and get married so they can draw out the perpetrator (who was going around sabotaging weddings in Eagle Rock) at their wedding. The storyline was well written and tugged at you emotionally. The characters all gelled well together. The storyline touched on the loss of Vince's wife and his unborn baby while he was deployed. It also touched on Dallas's loss of her team while on a mission, loss of her leg and getting medically discharged from the Army. Through all their pain and sacrifices, Vince and Dallas were able to overcome past guilt and pain, healed and find love in each other. I love this series... the stories brings out so many emotions. I definitely recommend reading this book and the series.
I enjoyed another chapter in the Brotherhood Protector series. Dallas and Viper meet in Montana and are thrown together right away as new hires in the Brotherhood Protectors. Dallas has a chip on her shoulder, one of the very few female Rangers in the core, she had to prove herself time and time again only to get shunned by her teammates. Viper is older and has lost so much. There are many suspects in regards to who is hurting brides and grooms on their wedding days that Viper and Dallas must work together to figure out who it is, so they make a plan to get married the following week. How far will they go to get their job done? Feelings explode as well as the suspense in this great read by Ms. James. Her characters are real and you are right their in their journey as you read this exciting book.
I received an advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.
Montana Ranger's Wedding Vow is book #8 in Elle James' series, Brotherhood Protectors. I am a big fan of this series and this latest addition is another super read. This book has lots of action and suspense. The two main characters, Dallas Hayes, former Army Ranger, who is at Brighter Days Rehab Ranch after losing her leg in combat and Vince "Viper" Vance, retired Delta Force soldier are both new to the Brotherhood Protectors. Their first assignment is to pretend to be engaged and planning their upcoming wedding in order to find the culprit sabotaging weddings in the area. They are both intelligent, independent and find themselves attracted to each other.
In order to find out who the culprit is and the resoning behind the destructive actions plus find out if Dallas & Viper get their "happily ever after" you must pick up this book. You'll be glad you did!
Do you know that feeling you get after being away from friends and family and then meeting up with them? You know the one where a smile breaks out and the hug feels so good? That's how I feel every time I read a story from the Brotherhood Protectors series. Reading about your favorite characters from the past books feels like your bumping into an old friend. This is another great story by Elle James. I loved the depth and insight into the two main characters (Viper and Dallas) who each served in the military and the emotional and physical scars that they carry after they retire. You feel so much admiration for Dallas and her struggle & awakening into who she is as both a solider and a woman and you can't help but love Viper from the start. The book is fast paced and you find yourself cheering the characters on throughout each chapter. I loved this story!!
Dallas is a retired Army Ranger who is working with the Brotherhood since retiring from the armed forces after losing her lower leg in the war. Viper has also just started with the brotherhood. He is retired Delta Force. They are given their first assignment to pose as soon to be newlyweds in order to figure out who is attempting to sabotage all of the latest weddings in town. Problem is that, even though they both feel an immediate attraction, Dallas has buried her womanhood under the guise of always having to be as good or better than any man. Viper has buried his feelings after losing his wife and unborn daughter while he was deployed away from home. It won't be an easy job, trying to put on great act, while doing a good job. All the while, trying to hide their feelings for each other. But they have always done their jobs the best they could. No need to change now = right?
This is another story of disabled veterans. Here we have a widowed Delta Force veteran, Viper and an amputee Army Ranger Dallas. The two are all for the mission and never about a personal relationship. When they are asked to try and flush out a potential wedding saboteur by faking their own nuptials, it's just another mission to the two of them. Dallas Hayes is about as far from being a girly girl as it gets. She can hunt and fish with the best of them. Her hand-to-hand combat, shooting and fighting skills were honed through her Arny Ranger training. So planning a wedding is so far out of her wheelhouse that it's laughable. Yet, she engaged and going to we'd in a week. Vince "Viper " Van Cleave is so new to the Brotherhood Protectors that the ink is barely dry on his contract. Someone is targetting them every step of th e way. Having each other's backs is paramount to their safety. Falling for one's partner is never a great idea. Dallas and Viper know this and yet it happens
I loved this book.Ms. James' Brotherhood Protectors series is a must have. This book has a female Army Ranger Dallas who doesn't believe she is whole because she lost part of her leg and Vince (Viper) a Delta force Solider seeing past that. Their first assignment a members of the Brotherhood Protectors is to find out who is ruining the weddings around town. each attack keeps getting more serious. I loved how Viper used Maya's name to wake up Chuck after the accident. Dallas & Viper's chemistry is terrific. He sees her as sexy and strong and Dallas doesn't feel that way. It is great how he has to tip toe around her for fear that she'll kick his ass. I liked how the team all got to together to celebrate their "fake" wedding. This book was full of suspense, action and passion.
...can offer so much more than expected! Dallas is offered a job she never expected, a job she wasn't sure she would ever be able to do again, with anew partner. A partner who teaches her just how strong she is and that being feminine isn't a weakness, she has no idea just how much power she has over Viper, but seeing her confidence grow as he encourages, supports and cherishes her is heart-warming. Viper is still punishing himself for his wife and daughters death, can this new start allow him to forgive himself and begin living again? Seeing these two injured souls come together and begin healing offers them and you hope as the Brotherhood Protectors welcome them into the family.
