Okay, so...there's a really good reason by R.C. Boldt has become a go-to author for me. I never, ever walk away from one of her books feeling unsatisfied. They consistently make me smile, they consistently set my heart aflutter, and they consistently leave me feeling content, happy, and a little bit schmoopy about how everything went down. Guess what? This is exactly how I feel about He Loves Me...KNOT too.
I adored both Emma Jane and Knox and I feel like Ms. Boldt did a wonderful job of weaving their story across time for me, flashing back, and then forward, keeping me on edge while delivering slivers of information that ultimately painted a broader picture that completely stole my heart. As far as second-chance romances go, this one was fairly light and sweet and steady-as-they-go. The writing that signature blend of smart humor and sweet emotion that I have come to love (let's be real, I crave it - really).
Also - secondary character game is strong. Which is no surprise, I suppose. Ms. Boldt excels at surrounding her main characters with colorful and compelling secondaries. In this case I think I fell just as hard for Becket as I did for anyone else (talk about a scene stealer!) and I'm delighted to see that he has a story coming because I am already hooked on it. That's the magic, I suppose. I will never quite get enough.
He Loves Me...KNOT works perfectly as a standalone, but if you're a loyal reader of this author, you'll see some familiar faces which was exciting and fun. A little cherry on the top of this delicious book sundae, if you will. And maybe a sundae is the best metaphor for this book: sweet, delightful, a little addictive, but it feels so good. I loved it. I am beaming and satisfied and, as always, cannot wait for more! ~ Shelly, 4 Stars

Seriously, I adored He Loves Me . . . Knot. Loved Emma Jane and Knox. Felt as if I really got to know them through the flashbacks to their high school years up to their attempt to get married. I felt the raw emotion between the two of them—both trying to guard their hearts again from getting hurt, but knowing that they’d fail. Fail because they’d never really stopped loving each other. There’s a very fine line between love and hate.
I had such fun with Becket and his ridiculously hilarious scene stealing. Adored Madison too. Hell, every girl needs a best friend posse like those two! Add in Wells as Knox’s wingman, and that’s winner of a friend support system.
He Loves Me . . . Knot was a perfect read for me. It was somewhat sweet, a whole lot sexy, and overall a really fun, satisfying read. And I can’t wait for Becket’s book Ditched! ~ Missy, 4 stars

He Loves Me...KNOT by R.C. Boldt was a fun, fast read that will both break your heart and make you laugh out loud. In He Loves Me...Knot high school sweethearts Emma Jane and Knox get a second chance at love. Having left Knox at the alter, eight years prior Emma Jane has her dream job, a new life and an amazing best friend. But the hurt that drove her from Knox's arms is still there. When Knox shows up at Emma Jane's job as the new CEO, tensions rise and workplace drama ensues.
I knew as soon as I read the blurb for this book that I had to read this book and I was not disappointed! It was at turns funny, sweet, angsty and terribly sad. The author has a way with words that leaves her audience completely captivated and I was no different. I am new to R.C. Boldt but I have already purchased additional books she's written based solely on my enjoyment of this one. I loved that her characters were so wonderfully well rounded and that her supporting characters were every bit as loveable as Emma Jane and Knox. I can't wait to read the next book in R.C. Boldt's line up as it is about the Emma Jane's best friend and he positively stole my heart. I seriously died laughing at some of his comments and his meddling!
The dialogue was great in this book and since I love to read Duel POV so I can really identify what the characters are feeling, I wanted to give this book an extra star! You'll get all the feels and have as hard a time putting it down as I did. Do yourself a favor and check out He Loves Me...Knot by R.C. Boldt. "Sometimes perspective comes with time."
I AM SO GLAD I read this one!!! I have been happily reading RC since she was introduced to me earlier this year, and this one has been on my TBR since I heard about it. A second chance romance with some easy going characters? Sign me up!! This book flowed, as usual, and I even got some giggle worthy moments...totally signature RC. She is a strong writer, and that showed in this book. She always has a lighter feel to her words, and her storylines are always easy to follow. I *really* enjoy her writing, and this one was no different.

An eight year gap between the breakup of their wedding and seeing each other in their new lives would cause one to start proffering guesses as to what actually caused said rift, and I definitely was. My head was spinning with 'what ifs'. One thing about Emma Jane was that she was NOT a weak girl....oh no. She stood up for what she believed in and backed it up 1000%. You know, unless it was Knox and you couldn't stop staring at him or remembering how things used to be! These two characters were both cognizant of this hesitant need for each other, but were caught between allowing past actions and current desires to cloud their minds. It was evident that these two were made for each other, and as Granddad would say, you can't interfere with fate. They had to learn and grow before they could be together. With Fate's path set, it was only a matter of time before they figured it out. But, old hurts don't go away easily, and neither do old feelings. Their chemistry was undeniable, and the draw was insatiable. Just them being around each other added an electrical current to the air that surrounded them. I was giddy every time touches whispered close, when eyes instinctively locked, when breaths became shallow. You could just feel their chemistry!!
Knox was a man that was in touch with his softer side, with his feelings he knew to be true. He had a naughty mouth, a good head on his shoulders, and could literally do anything. He was a man of many talents. In and out of the sheets. Yes, it's not like me to say that....but he was just delicious. He isn't like most men we read about; super alpha, boss their way around, be jealous, etc. He was refined, but dirty. A businessman in a suit, but knew how to get dirty fixing things up. He was well rounded and super delicious!! Wanna see his naughty mouth? Yes....I think you'll enjoy this here:
I would be remiss if I skipped over the lifesaver by the name of Becket. He swooped in when Emma Jane was at her lowest, and yet he saw something in her that he knew he could trust. The way their relationship started out, it made me smile, and it made for a lifelong friendship. I loved Becket and I fell hard for him. There wasn't anything he could do wrong, even if he forced Emma Jane's hand a few times. He knew what was right for his best friend, and he had no shame. Such an amazing character!
This book now has one of my favorite cast of characters!! They were likable and really easy to fall for....all of them, and not just the main characters. Emma Jane, Knox, Becket and Madison made this story. Seriously. LOVED them. Especially all the secondary characters: I love when there are characters that help give the story an extra oomph. They were all enjoyable and added a level to the story that made it so much fun to read!!
The lead up to this big 'issue' was one that kept me turning the pages because I had to know what would cause this huge rift. Knowing their feelings manifested themselves almost instantly the minute they were near each other again, this had to be a juicy one, right? I liked that it wasn't easily figured out as we went along, but we got little tidbits along the way and it was almost as if we were being fed the story from front to back, and back to front....two very confused characters trying to come to terms with what happened, all the while trying to guard their hearts. All throughout, and up until the end, this was a sigh-worthy read. Their love was meant to be. RC did their story justice.

This is only my second R.C. Boldt book and I can now safely say, she will be forever added to my one-click author list!
He Loves Me Knot is a fun, sexy and at times heartbreaking second chance romance. Emma Jane and Knox fell in love so many years ago but due to an unfortunate misunderstanding, Emma Jane leaves Knox at the alter.
However, while running away from her future, she runs into a life that she never thought possible all with the help of her new and unexpected best friend, Becket. Emma Jane gets through the trials and tribulations with a little help from her friends, all while leaving her past behind.
Until her past waltzes right back into her life...in the worst way possible..as her new boss.
He Loves Me Knot was one of THE best second chance romances that I’ve read. My emotions ran wild throughout the book. Emma Jane and Knox were so very perfect for each other and the secondary characters brought so much more to the book! I am happy to see that Becket will be getting his own story soon!
I cannot say enough about He Loves Me...Knot. I was glad to catch up with characters from a previous novel, to get to know Emma Jane and Knox and to fall in love with Becket! I cannot wait for more from R.C. Boldt!!

This story was...freaking fantastic! Emma JAne and Knox are the perfect power couple to swoon after. This story centers on misunderstandings and second chances. There’s slight angst, some backstabbing and betrayal, and the BEST best friends ever! I loved this book so hard that I cannot wait to start reading it again. This is my third book by this author, and I have no plans to ever stop reading her stories. She mixes relatable situations with humor, and it’s always a refreshing and unique read! BUY THIS BOOK YESTERDAY!!!

Pardon me while I enjoy one of the best book hangovers I've ever had! I've been a fan of RC since the first book I've reviewed for her. I've loved every book immensely, but this book.... It's on a whole nother level. I wanted to lay down and go to sleep because the migraine I had prior to starting kept getting worse from the brightness of the kindle. There was just one problem. I COULDN'T PART WITH THIS STORY!!! There wasn't a chance in hell that I was going to put this book down. I was in a trance from the very beginning and there was just no stopping.
Second chance romances are my favorite trope ever. I have to say that RC completely perfected this one. It was balanced with that humor I've come to love from her but it wasn't the main focus of this story. This story was nothing but a long emotional journey of two souls who didn't get it right the first time, but fate would see to it that they were brought together to mend each other's hearts.
I absolutely fell in love with Beckett too and am so glad that he will be getting a book. I know that I am going to get to see that big, goofy, lovable man get his HEA. And also know we will get to see more of Knox and Emma Jane. This has to be added to your TBR. It was definitely a top read this year. This book will have a space in my heart forever.

He Loves Me…KNOT by RC Boldt is a sweet and beautiful second chance romance between two people who have always been meant to be but were separated for a few years only to find their way back to each other again.
Emma Jane Haywood and Knox Montgomery knew they were meant for each other and were finally going to spend the rest of their lives together…until she left him at the altar and out of everyone’s lives. Her decision to leave ruined her relationship with her father, and in turn, her family and everyone in her hometown.
She left town and moved to Jacksonville when Becket Jones, the quarterback for the NFL team in Jacksonville and eventually her best friend, helped her find a job she loves. Things have been going so well, and after eight years at her job, she’s close to getting a promotion as the new VP.
And that’s when Knox Montgomery comes back… as the new owner of the company where Emma Jane works. Now she has to fight for her position and promotion, and she has to fight to protect her heart from the man who broke her heart eight years ago.
First of all, I love that cover! It made me want to read the book the moment I saw it. The book was just as beautiful. The story jumps from past to present, so we’re able to see how the two fell in love and where it all went wrong.
There was a mystery as to why Emma Jane ran away, why she left Knox, and RC Boldt made it build up until the perfect time to reveal it. And I love that we saw Knox’s perspective on what happened as well, saw what he felt and what he was thinking after EJ left him at the altar.
Obviously, there was animosity between the two—especially on Knox’s end—when they reunited, but it didn’t take too long for that to go away. Knox obviously cares about EJ very much and vice versa, but they were both hurt. Knox was determined to make her squirm now that he’s the new owner of her workplace, but the man felt bad when he saw how hard she was working to keep her job and prove to him she deserved the promotion. And the feelings never really left for them, did it?
I love Knox and Emma Jane, as people and as a couple. I rooted for them from the very start, even when I didn’t know why Emma Jane left. Knox acted like a hardass when they saw each other again, but beneath that hard shell is the same man who’s always loved EJ. Swoon alert! I can talk about him all day, I swear. Such a handsome, caring, and wonderful man.
Emma Jane grew up with a controlling father who wanted to manipulate everything in her life, and when she finally found her freedom, it was at the cost of her heart and her relationship with everyone she loves. She still talks to her grandfather at times, but it’s not the same when she can’t go back to their hometown and see him. She stayed so strong and finally found her ground. I loved this character from start to finish and was so happy to see her growth.
Plus, a little shoutout to Becket Jones, best friend and side character of the year. He’s such a loyal and caring friend to Emma Jane. He barely knew her when they first met, but he was an angel in disguise. He was there the moment she ran away and the moment she found her way back to Knox. If I didn’t love Becket and his ‘Blue’ as friends and I didn’t ship Knox and EJ, I’d want him and EJ to end up together. But there are good things out there for you, Beck my love. Me, maybe? Haha! But seriously, I’m claiming Becket now.
The second chance story here is wrapped up in the huge belief in fate—that Emma Jane and Knox were meant to be, but the first time wasn’t the right time for them. Her grandfather believed that, Knox’s mother did, too; even the two of them eventually. I loved that!
I do think one subplot was out of place or was not given enough “air time”. There wasn’t much emotional impact there because it came out of nowhere and was forgotten soon after.
Other than that, I absolutely enjoyed reading He Loves Me…KNOT. Despite some drama and pretty angsty scenes, the book was full of light-hearted and hilarious banter, great relationships between the main and side characters, and a strong and steady pace throughout. I loved all characters, even the side characters, and now I’m excited to read about Emma Jane’s best friend, Becket.
I’ve heard a lot of great things about RC Boldt, and I’m so glad I got the chance to finally experience it firsthand. I’m definitely keeping an eye out for her future books and will be adding her other books in my TBR list, as long as it is. Haha!

She left town and moved to Jacksonville when Becket Jones, the quarterback for the NFL team in Jacksonville and eventually her best friend, helped her find a job she loves. Things have been going so well, and after eight years at her job, she’s close to getting a promotion as the new VP.
And that’s when Knox Montgomery comes back… as the new owner of the company where Emma Jane works. Now she has to fight for her position and promotion, and she has to fight to protect her heart from the man who broke her heart eight years ago.
First of all, I love that cover! It made me want to read the book the moment I saw it. The book was just as beautiful. The story jumps from past to present, so we’re able to see how the two fell in love and where it all went wrong.
There was a mystery as to why Emma Jane ran away, why she left Knox, and RC Boldt made it build up until the perfect time to reveal it. And I love that we saw Knox’s perspective on what happened as well, saw what he felt and what he was thinking after EJ left him at the altar.
Obviously, there was animosity between the two—especially on Knox’s end—when they reunited, but it didn’t take too long for that to go away. Knox obviously cares about EJ very much and vice versa, but they were both hurt. Knox was determined to make her squirm now that he’s the new owner of her workplace, but the man felt bad when he saw how hard she was working to keep her job and prove to him she deserved the promotion. And the feelings never really left for them, did it?
I love Knox and Emma Jane, as people and as a couple. I rooted for them from the very start, even when I didn’t know why Emma Jane left. Knox acted like a hardass when they saw each other again, but beneath that hard shell is the same man who’s always loved EJ. Swoon alert! I can talk about him all day, I swear. Such a handsome, caring, and wonderful man.
Emma Jane grew up with a controlling father who wanted to manipulate everything in her life, and when she finally found her freedom, it was at the cost of her heart and her relationship with everyone she loves. She still talks to her grandfather at times, but it’s not the same when she can’t go back to their hometown and see him. She stayed so strong and finally found her ground. I loved this character from start to finish and was so happy to see her growth.

She has that soul bearing love with her high school sweetheart, until she doesn't. In the matter of a day, she literally loses everything, and I mean everything. Flash forward 8 years after walking away from her dreams and now she's living her professional dream only. Alone. Beside her is her best friend that she found the day she walked away from her old life.
Knox, this man is strong, he's handsome, he's successful. Knox is bound to ties from a past life and he's chasing after that life he had ripped away from him. With absolutely no explanation. He knows what he wants though. He wants revenge. Right? Or does he want answers. Or wait, does he want a second chance to have the love that has never left his heart?
This story is told with flashes back to the past, it's told perfectly, in my opinion. I enjoyed it. Happy to find another exceptional author. My only downfall to this story, 8 years later.............

***TWO (DISGUSTED) STARS***
I read this entire book just to get THAT as the reason she walked away??? Unbelievable.
Knox and Emma Jane are madly in love, but after Emma Jane overhears a conversation right before her wedding, instead of asking Knox WHY he said what he said, she stands him up at the alter and runs away, leaving her town forever. Deciding after hearing that conversation, that she is never going to talk to Knox or her family ever again. Smart move....
Everything Emma Jane based her life change on, was just a total miscommunication on her part. She fucked up two lives that day, and spent the next 8 years separated from Knox. All because she decided to believe the worst about her fiancée, when everything would have been resolved if she had just been mature, and asked Knox face to face if what she heard was true. Then, even when Knox shows up again, neither of them discuss why she left him at the alter for almost the entire rest of the story. I hate this story, and I hate Emma Jane. Knox deserved so much better. I wish Knox had had a rebound fling after Emma Jane left him, and married that person instead of pining over her for 8 freaking years after she devastated and humiliated him the way she did.

Well written.
Surprisingly decent heroine: she didn’t annoy me and I found her cool.
The hero loved her, no doubt.

Unplausible misunderstanding, which results in 8 years separation
What was her relationship with her BFF Bennet?
Did the hero know, that h’s BFF was only her friend and NOT her bf (as many others assumed), when he slept with her? If not, it smells like cheating, even if it was technically not cheating. If a man makes a move on a woman, whom he assumes to be in relationship, it’s cheating. Or I am an old-fashioned woman.
Work-drama toward the end was ridiculous – he believed an intern, who said the h stole her ideas? Please repeat for Alex! He actually believed a young intern, who accused her boss of intellectual crime, because the intern was apparently sincere and cried? He just believed her without speaking to the h?
WTH??? This part annoyed me a lot. Ugh! Grr! I couldn’t believe it…

This is my first book by Miss Boldt. I read so many good review of her works. I am between 3 or 4 stars for this book. The blurp promising some angst and drama. When I start listening it, I do find what is expected. Not too much of angst or drama. The timeline is going back present and past. It is a bit confusing if you listening with audio book.
Dual POV provides from Knox and Emma Jane. I love Knox POV. It provides his brooding, tortured soul of loving the woman who shattered his heart. Even the blurp said that Emma is the one who left Knox, but it does not mean Emma is the bad girl. The story is depth and have layers. The only things that I do not like is the revealing of why Knox and Emma hurting each other, is dragging. And the layers/ plot that building into this climax is... flat.
Too many steamy sex in between. Not enough drama to make the climax heart wrenching. But I decided to give this story 4 stars because I like Knox.

2.95 stars. I love a good second chance romance... unless the reason for h running off is ridiculously stupid. Yeah, the reason could have been sorted out with a 2 minute conversation instead of running off for 8 freaking years!! But that’s not the only reason I rated this below 3 stars. I also skimmed through the slower paced dialogue and got bored here and there. I think the only reason I didn’t DNF was only to find out why the h ran off on her wedding day - and we all know how I feel about that reasoning...

oh dear. I thought I'd enjoy this a hell of a lot more.
This was a classic case of miscommunication and misunderstanding.
Spoiler Alert: The reasoning for her leaving him at the alter was not a plausible reason for me. It was freakin frustrsting. Emma Jane could have EASILY spoke to him about it. ALL THEY NEEDED TO DO WAS TALK TO EACH OTHER ABOUT IT! But unfortunately she overheard her dad saying to Knox how he needs to get these dreams/aspiration/ goals out of Emma Janes head. " Emma Jane needs to be a good house wife. Quit working." etc. And then she heard Knox agreeing.
AND then she decided Knox doesn't love her anymore because he's agreeing.
AND then she decides 'nah can't marry this guy he's agreeing with my overbearing father."
What she could've done??? Well let me Tell yah SHE COULD HAVE SPOKEN TO HIM ABOUT IT. And then she would have found out how he was only placating. And they would have got her father off their backs and lived haoouly ever after. I simply couldn't engage with the story because of her reasoning for leaving. There were ways that could have EASILY been prevented that. Sigh. I wish the reasoning was more 'oh damn thats harsh I would've left too.'
Also... I was not a fan of the work drama at the end. I feel like it was very unnecessary and just another way to build unnecessary animosity between the couple. How could Knox believe an intern over Emma Jane?? he didn't even question the legitimacy and just saw a few tears and believed the Intern in a heartbeat. hmm... not buying it.
Also one more thing I wish I knew more about: this Katherine woman. Emma Janes 'friend'. There wasn't much about her dislike towards EJ until the party. I mean we read her little snide comments but I would have liked a little bit more Information there.
Anyway. They were my negative points. What I did enjoy is Emma Jane and Becket's friendships and Emma Jane and Maddison's friendship too. I enjoyed their parts. That felt authentic and it was enjoyable to read.

A destined second chance romance that had me glued my kindle.
R.C Bolt had me reading he loves me knot in one sitting and I finished with a happy sigh.
Brilliantly written, I adored the characters the flow, the hot scenes in the right places and the plot that had you guessing up to the last chapters.
Cleverly written, He love's me...knot begins with Emma Jane seeking much needed alcohol after fleeing her own wedding day and finds herself sitting in the least expected place people would look, a gay bar in her wedding dress.
On that day she meets her best friend Becket who I absolutely adored by the way and no he's not gay, he's a hot NFL star that claims Emma Jane as his right hand woman from that day forward and helps her start a new life in a new city until 8 years later her old life or should I say her ex makes an appearance in her present again.
The company Emma Jane works for is undergoing new ownership and Emma Jane has to prove herself to the new owner to keep her job but the person she least expected was the man she left at the alter.
I loved the slow burn in this story to the reconciliation that leads to a hot reunion and then to finally discovering what really happened the day Emma Jane fled her man the first time around breaking both their hearts in the process.
I enjoyed the snippets of the past in the story, how Emma Jane and Knox's love blossomed from sharing lockers next to each other at school, their prom, the swoon worthy proposal to the fatal day they were supposed to wed.
I loved it, I loved how I was kept waiting and wanting to know how it would all unfold.
I equally loved the characters, Knox was so swoon worthy and extended characters Well's Knox's best friend, Emma Jane's friend Madison and especially Becket with his endearing nickname Blue for Emma Jane and their FWOB date nights (friends without benifits) they all added interest and humour to the story.
I can't wait to read more in this series and I am definitely looking forward to Beckets, the NFL star who would rather have a best girlfriend than a real girlfriend, an interesting story coming there and I can't wait to read it.

May 21, 2019I really don’t believe there’s is a single soul in this world who would just leave their fiancé/fiancée at the altar in their wedding day because they overheard a conversation they didn’t “agree” with and not confront your bride/groom about it before stupidity and immaturely run away and not communicate with anyone for 8 years.

This is my first time reading RC Boldt and I am wondering why I haven’t read her before. I enjoyed every aspect of this story. Emma Jane and Knox were two very interesting and fun people. I loved the transformation of both of these characters and smiled as they denied their feelings, fought their feelings and then finally gave in and admitted to those feelings. It was a long but beautiful journey filled with some secondary characters that sometimes stole the show.
Emma Jane was fantastic right from the beginning of the story. She had her “woe is me” moment, put on her big girl pants and went on with the help of hell of a guy. I’m still not sure if he’s gay or not, though. But, he was her rock and she was his BFF and the rumors flew. She was back on her feet, in a job she loved, unattached and moving up the ladder. Until that ladder came crashing down in one fell swoop. Now, it’s a fight for her position, a fight for her sanity and a fight that she refuses to give up … no matter what he throws at her. She just has to find a way to fight her feelings for the one man that has held her heart since she was a teenager.
It’s time for revenge or, at least, to get the girl that has haunted him out of his system once and for all. Knox knew seeing him would throw her for a loop. He was being a real dick towards her, just piling on the work and setting deadlines that he thought she wouldn’t be able to make. But, he should have remembered that she always was her own woman, and wouldn’t back down. When he saw what he was really doing to her, he couldn’t help but pull back a little, show her a little mercy and admit that he was trying to get back at her for leaving him at the altar.
He Loves Me … Knot was so much fun. A true RomCom and second chance love story. Beckett was a bundle of laughs and knew just what to do to get Knox jealous. He was dedicated and true to the one woman who didn’t want him for anything but friendship. Wells was so sarcastic that it was laugh-out-loud funny at times. Madison was exactly what a best friend should be – loyal and loving and dishing out the truth when need be. And, Granddad … wow … I think he was a favorite even though he didn’t play a big part in their daily lives. He said what he had to say, inferred what needed to be put out there and was always on the Emma Jane and Knox train. But, besides EJ having devoted friends all around her, it was Knox who truly stood by her side and helped her get past the past … even though he showed his assiness on more than one occasion while doing it.
RC Boldt really drew me into this story. It was fresh and fun. Her writing style had an ebb and flow to it that was really interesting. She brought out the best and worst of her characters, knew just when to throw in the meddling friends and family and how to end a story. The HEA that she wrote honestly brought a tear to my eye.
So, he loves me …. He Loves Me … Knot was one of the best second chance stories I have read. I am looking forward to reading more from RC Boldt and hope she gives Beckett an HEA.

He Loves Me...KNOT overflows with heartache, desires, unresolved issues, lust, and fate. The story, along with the characters, makes you constantly wonder "what if". And it doesn't lack in the miscommunication aspect either, with touches of secrets being kept throughout the story.
Knox and Emma Jane are two quite unique characters. Both feel as if the other person broke their heart. And in a way, they did. Trust and communication play heavily on the choices and actions each of them take toward what he/she thinks will make them happy. And both found themselves in situations that lead them back where they were meant to be all along...together.
I really enjoyed this book. Incredibly well written and intriguing, He Loves Me...KNOT was a breath of fresh air in the second chance romance category. Told from both POVs, I loved how the story gave just the right amount of flashbacks to Knox and Emma Jane's past, and what lead to where they are now. Their chemistry is evident immediately, and it was a joy to read how they finally overcame their fear and heartache to finally express how they both felt for the other. And with the added comic relief in the form of Becket, this book was very entertaining and heartfelt!

A misunderstanding can change so many lives: it can destroy a love so deep that it shatters hearts. It can put you in the path of a person who becomes an essential part of your life.
He Loves Me...Knot brought all this and more. Emma Jane and Knox were perfect! I can't say enough about how I felt wrecked, happy, sad, and had my heart put back together.
Beautifully written by an amazing author that I discovered a few months ago.

Just ok. 2 stars
This was my first RC Boldt book, and I can now say I read one of her stories.
I didn't connect to the characters or the story. Parts of it were confusing, like the unresolved issue of Becket. I get that he's going to have his own story, but his presence in this one was too strong. It bordered on 'triangle' territory. And for anyone reading this as a standalone, there are random crossovers from other stories that don't make sense unless you've read those other stories.
In addition, details that should have bern included were skimmed over, like EJ's first encounter with her parents in 8 years. Given the influence her father had on EJ's actions in the prologue, not including any interaction at all when she went to his birthday party was a bit odd, in my opinion.
It wasn't convincing how EJ and Knox fell into bed with all the unresolved bad feelings between them. I've said this before and I will again, people don't behave that way. Yeah, I get it that reading is an escape and people want the fantasy and blahblahblah. I like to be able to relate to the characters and their actions and I could do neither with this story.
I dislike dual POV, and that is no secret. I can count on one hand the writers I've encountered in recent years that do it properly. They are rare. This writer badly needs to work on her male voice.
A few examples of hero Knox's inner dialogue -
"My voice was a predatory growl."
Uh...what?
People don't notice how they speak or sound when they are talking. Someone else might describe their tone that way, but they their self would not.
"I gazed into her cerulean eyes." Yeah, no.
"She kissed that spot at the base of my throat, and I suddenly went weak in the knees." Ok. Girly much?
Men do not think like this! They don't think - or speak - in emotional, flowery, descriptive prose. Nothing takes me out of a story quicker than a male character with the voice of a female.
Now, about the gratuitous smut.
I finished the book in about 3 hours, because I skimmed several long, repetitive sex scenes. Because I read books for STORIES and not for lessons in PORN. Honestly, it's really beyond tiresome that it's become almost impossible to avoid that level of explicit content. If anyone speaks against it, they are labeled a prude, which in my case is patently false. I simply don't need that level or amount of description, let alone have it repeated several times over in a story. Because, adult.
These days, I find the majority of scenes dedicated to intimacy to be juvenile and about as sexy as a scene depicting a characters toilet business.
I was drawn in by the story summary, but overall was underwhelmed. I love second-chance stories and while I'm aware they all follow the same general outline, there are better examples than this out there. The trick to writing a story that uses a particular trope is to make it unique so it stands out. For instance, compelling characters can make even the most recycled plot idea fresh. Not the case here. The book isn't bad, but neither is it good and will be quickly forgotten.

Lack of confidence and trust played an integral part in the demise of this couple’s relationship - Emma Jane overhears a conversation between her overbearing, calculating father and Knox (her fiancé) hours before their nuptials are underway. Rather than confront him, she perfects a Runaway Bride manoeuvre academy-worthy and escapes, complete with help from Katherine, the upstart.
On the most dismal day of her life, she wanders into a gay bar hoping to go unnoticed and meets Beckett Jones, a quarterback (incognito), someone that will be meaningful to her...he will remain her best friend, at times maintain the role of faery godmother and cheering squad. She leaves Mobile, Alabama sans a word, note or explanation...we could all benefit from a ‘Becket’, he would enrich our lives.
Her exit from her wedding does not go unheralded or without dire consequences.
The scathing texts missiled by her father:::
Dad: You’d better get back here now, young lady.
Dad: Consider yourself disowned. Don’t even think of coming back to this house after the way you’ve embarrassed everyone.
(He doesn’t express any concern, simply the utter humiliation of keeping up appearances).
Dad: Forget your job at the magazine. It’s done. You’re done. You did this, Emma Jane.
Her father was a city councilman, owner of the local newspaper, the city’s largest magazine, and commercial developer. He has the financial resources to support his decisions, she failed to foresee he’d one day use his money and power against her.
She earned her reputation at the magazine, in an effort to advance in her career but her chances were revoked based on his boorish behaviour.
In the eight years of her absence, she’s established her career and created a life. Until her past comes knocking, Knox and purchases the company underfoot.
The man now in control of her career and future. The same one, intent on seeking revenge for leaving him at the altar. In his defence, Knox tried to mend the breach but circumstances prevailed.
“I planted them a while ago. Thought they’d give the place ‘curb appeal.’”
(Loosely translated, he did it a few months after she left, holding out hope for her return).
She knew her father was scheming and manipulative, on that premise, she should have given Knox the benefit of the doubt...perhaps the conversation she overheard could have been interpreted as lip service to appease her father.
They fell in love in Tenth grade and gave their hearts to each other. Years later, fate steps in ... when love isn’t enough...to lend a helping hand reclaiming a second chance.
‘Sometimes love needs a second chance, when it wasn’t quite ready the first time around’. They needed time to grow independently as individuals.
Very true in this instance...low on angst and drama. I initially rated this book four stars, upon re-reading, I reconsidered and rendered five stars, attributing their rash decisions as immaturity.
This is a safe read without outside intervention less a back-stabbing employee that tries to undermine and claim credit for EJ’s work, resulting in minor discord.

This book was a breathe of fresh air compared to the books I had been reading prior to this one... Which were all rather dark and angsty (I should pace myself).
He loves me... Knot follows Emma Jane Haywood (nicknamed EJ), eight years after she had left her fiancee, Knox Montgomery, at the altar. She's thriving in a new city and slowly climbing the ranks at the office. Surprise, surprise, her ex-fiancee shows up and basically unleashes hell on her.
This is my first R.C Boldt book and it sure as hell won't be my last. I really liked her writing style and found myself finishing this book in one sitting. I think the dual perspectives and the sprinkling of flashbacks really added to the story. The flashbacks make the heroine and the hero's story that much sweeter.
One thing I really liked about this story was that Knox's revenge plot doesn't last for very long. I love a good revenge plot... But not so much when there are romantic feelings involved. So it didn't feel like there was a huge wasting of time in that regards. I really liked that Knox was intent on giving this romance a second chance and hellbent on winning her over. I love a vulnerable hero who's in tune with his feelings. I also have to commend EJ's resilience in trying to stand up to him with her strong work ethic.
My favorite character had to be EJ's NFL player friend, Becket. I love books that acknowledge that platonic friendships exist. It was really cute that he tried to set up the H/h. I think everyone needs a Becket in their lives.
One qualm I had about this story was EJ's reason for leaving Knox at the altar. It just wasn't a big enough reason for me. But I mean, what's a second chance romance story without lack of communication, right?
Overall, I really enjoyed this story. I think the first half was stronger than the second half. Some of the twists and reveals weren't that exciting to me but I do think it's worth the read if you're looking for a cute second chance romance.

He Loves Me Knot is a fantastic second chance romance and I absolutely loved this book. I’ll be honest I wasn’t sure what this was going to be about having not read the blurb and at first I originally thought that the story was going to be about Becket and Emma.
Turns out that is not what it is about at all but I will say I loved the friendship that we get out of Becket and Emma.
Emma is what one would call the runaway bride and of course I immediately want to know what happened and why she ran away.
Fast forward from that horrible day and her Ex Knox resented her life again. You could almost feel the tension in the air and I could only imagine how awkward this would be. Of course at first I’m not a fan of Knox but really it’s because I so far have my own assumptions of what’s happened.
As the story moves along however and more is revealed I found myself hoping that the the truth(s) would come out as to what actually happened.
In the meantime RC Boldt has me hooked on these two, their interaction with one another at times tense and clearly jaded but I could feel the emotions still warring within both Knox and Emma. Let me tell you my heart was pounding and I found myself giddy with excitement. The heart stopping feels when your face to face with possibly the one that holds your heart.
This story just completely warmed my heart and even though there amidst the angst, the heartache, the longing there is hope and that all encompassing love that just never goes away.

This book has one major flaw: the reason why Emma Jane, the h, leaves Knox, the H.
The author tries to explain why she is so upset but I don't get it. If I love a guy so much that I want to marry him, I need to be able to trust him at least a little bit. Emma Jane knows Knox for years (!) and instead of talking to him, asking what the fuck was going on, she left.
If you can forget the reason why she causes all this drama, it's a solid and decent story.
Knox was my highlight of this book. This guy is all around great. At first I was afraid that he wanted revenge and that it would become one of those typical revenge stories but that was not the case. There were a lot of buried feelings and once you get a glimpse underneath the anger which was on display, you understand that the guy was incredibly hurt.
There were some flashbacks and even though I usually hate flashbacks, they didn't bother me here. We learn how they met when they were in high school and these parts were pretty cute.
“He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not…” My voice trails off when a muscled arm snakes around my waist and tugs me back against a firm, familiar body.
“He loves you.”
I peer down at the white flower petals that remain on the daisy before tilting my head to look up at Knox when he adds, “Trust me.”
“Is that so?”
“Woman,” he growls playfully, spinning me around in the circle of his arms. He dips his head to kiss me softly. “I went dress shopping with you for prom. You know I love you.”
Overall I liked this book but I didn't love it thanks to Emma's stupidity.

A beautiful second chance romance that will have you believing in love and soul mates.
Emma Jane leaves Knox on their wedding day, on the worst day of her life she meets Becket and her life is irrevocably changed. Don’t fret this is not a love triangle, over the years Becket becomes her best friend and I loved him he’s the supportive friend we all want.
Yes there is a reunion between them, the story flits between the past and present. Which means we get the story of how the met in school, how the relationship progressed through the years however we don’t learn how it falls apart until later.
I really liked the story the character development was really good and you really feel like you know them. Knox is such a sweetheart and EJ is tough both are successful in business and have many verbal sparring battles.

To be honest I wasn't totally sure if I would end up liking this at times. I worried that it would be boring or overly cheesy. But the author managed to keep me entertained throughout all of the story. Part of this was due to Becket - yep, I totally love him. But also the hero and heroine were great! EJ and Knox were both really lovable, even though their actions sometimes caused me to want to bump my head against a wall. The story itself wasn't all that remarkable, but the characters made me enjoy every moment of it. It was told in dual POV and the POV changed nearly every few pages after the first few pages, which made for a well-balanced story. 3,5 stars for this one. But what I'm really looking forward to is Becket's story! Sorry, Knox ;)

I had to skim through to be able to finish this book.
I don’t understand these second chance romances, if after 2-3 years you still haven’t moved on, why not reach out to the person? Why do you have to wait 8 years?
So now after 8 years you meet, and you know what you find out, it was a misunderstanding, that’s why you broke up! Why can’t you just confront the person then? Why put yourself through the agony?
Also, what was with the h’s bff, 8 years and he never dated anyone; just kept buying the h fancy dresses and making her his plus one? Was he asexual? I did not get that relationship.
