Author of-
Be My Perfect Ending, Gift Me A New Beginning, The Girl Next Door, You Are My Reason to Smile, I Still Think About You, Love Knows No LOC
My first book of 2018 and third book by the author.
Armaan works as a writer in television industry. Little did he know that fate has fabricated the story of him meeting with a girl of his dreams, Sara. She is a newcomer in the office and her first encounter with her is more than happening.
Some situations lead them to move in together. Until this point, some 50 pages, everything seems normal and in an unhurried pace - the next half of the book - leading you to a sequence of twists and turns, from which there is no turning back.
Arpit's books have an amiable set of features to them. They bind you and at the same time, you feel you're talking to long lost friends. Because his characters speak their heart out to you. Each and every aspect of them are laid open in front of you. And you don't judge. You just listen to them, feeling what they feel, telling them to stay strong.
There are very few characters around whom a strong story builds up. You've seen such characters in your workplace, your college, everywhere. Emotional ups and downs are the forte of the author. Smiling at a moment, you become thoughtful at another.
Admirable and awe-inspiring cover at first but haunting once you are done reading.
Reading the book in a single go, the story shaped into something unpredictable with each moment for me. A typical love story with emotions stirring up with each passing chapters.
Categorizing "Be My Perfect Ending" as a boy-meets-girl story would be an understatement and injustice to the storyline. Because with each page you turn, the gravity of situation strengthens. It is different from other books in a lot of ways. The series of quick and sudden incidences the narrator throws at you is commendable.
A story which starts with a normal breakup but turns into a heart melting narrative is worth the time. I definitely expect a sequel to Sara and Armaan's story.
Verdict: Going on a train journey? This will do. And Be Warned. It is an emotional one.
Not every story has a Happy Ending, but is a perfect ending all that matters?
Title - Be my perfect ending turned out to be the perfect title for the book. When I went to read the blurb of the book, I realised how not every ending is a happy one, and a perfect ending is not everyone's goal.
Cover - The cover displays scene of sunrise where the sky gets painted in shades of pink yellow and orange. Also, the scene is of a beach. We see a couple's picture too.
Storyline - Be My Perfect Ending is a story of too young souls, Armaan and Sara.
Armaan is a television writer and has everything that one deserves in life. He has a perfect job, lot of money, and an awesome place of shelter and the city of dreams, Mumbai. But despite everything his heart lies somewhere and his hometown Indore.
On the other hand, Sara is a merry and beaming girl, who faces all of life's ups and downs with a cheerful smile on her face. She joins a television channel in Mumbai, and in the meanwhile she is a little desolate. She realises that she needs a different space to rethink about her life.
Being in the television industry, both of them meet in a very filmy style. They end up falling in love with each other. This new relationship brings passionate romance in their lives, and in Armaan's, it pushes everything else aside. But little does he know that there's a storm headed their way.
As the couple walk together and the journey called life, They Come face to face with long-buried truths, shocking new twists and end up making tough decisions.
Be My Perfect Ending a story of love that knows no bounds, of endings that are far from ordinary and new beginnings that hold a promise of LOVE.
Language and writing skills - Arpit's style of writing this book was quite fascinating. He has displayed immense knowledge of words and a beautiful ability to use them.
Narration - The description of various scenes, along with the events that took place throughout the story was really lovely.
Portrayal of characters - The author has done an appreciable job in this section. Readers feel connected with the protagonists and live their lives with them in the pages.
Well I have read all the books of this author and 'You are my reason to smile' is my favourite book. I was so excited to read this book. Be my perfect ending is a story of Aarmaan and Sara, who met on a work project. It's about a journey in the Television industry, Love, friendship and much more. Well, I loved the cover and title of this book. It's impressive. The read is good but was not upto my expectations especially after reading 'you are my reason to smile'. I expected a strong plot this time. The story is good, but it would have been much better. There was no strong plot in this story, The characters lack depth. Though I loved Sara's character again it was just a glimpse of it. The plot was continuously switching which was creating confusion. I was not able to figure out and somewhere lost. There is too much of philosophy which again takes you off track from the story. There were some scenes which I loved it, Like Sandy's mother scene, TRPs scene and many more, but at the time hated when there were too many philosophical talks in between. I was not well connected with the story. The end! I was confused and Had to read that chapter again to figure it out. I also loved Aarmaan's personality, Sara's behaviour, Television scenarios and situations, TV industry reality and many more things.I tried hard, but could not connect with the book well. The tempo was simple, so was the pace, it was smooth and easy.
The language used was again simple, but not that interesting. The narration must be improved. But at the end, You are my reason to smile will always be the best read than this book.
I expected more from this book. well once again , will wait for your next book :) read more reviews at www.vidhyathakkar.com
I really loved the book, especially the message which is given by the author at the end of every chapter. And you will not be competent to guess the ending of the book until the last page, it's full of suspense, and it will force you to read until the last you will not be able to leave the book half read. The book revolves around Armaan and Sara both are working for the same channel. It was love at first sight for actually both, but Sara assured herself that she only likes him due to her past heartbreak and fear of losing the one she loves. The story also gives light on the family, and friends are important to us? We know, but we should not at any time take anyone for granted because we don't know the plans of destiny. Pros: 1. Book is full of suspense along with the beautiful story. 2. The Message is worth keeping in mind and implementing in the real life.
Cons: 1. Some events are unreal, and I don't think it happens.
A lot of people judge a book by its cover. But I don’t (lies!!). I judge a book by the main characters’ name. Well, I did at least for this book. I picked ‘Be My Perfect Ending’ because the lead characters’ name is ‘Armaan’ and I love that name. I love that name because Dr. Armaan Mallick from the Hindi show, ‘Dill Mill Gaye’ was my favourite TV hero. The role was played by actor Karan Singh Grover who was the best-looking doctor on this planet. So yes, the name instantly melted my heart and I knew I want to read this book. Apart from that, another thing that caught my attention was the fact that Armaan is a television writer. If you have been following my blog you would know that I used to review first episodes of newly launched Indian TV serials but I gave that up because I lost faith in our TV serials. Hardly any show offered quality content and I decided to stick to other Asian dramas instead. So, when I read that Armaan is a TV writer, I wanted to get an insight into his life. I wanted to know what makes TV writers create such regressive content. Not that I don’t know the actual reason but I wanted to have first-hand information. But sadly, the book is not about that. Which is absolutely fine with me because the central theme of the book is romance and the book justifiably concentrates on Armaan and Sara’s love story. I finished this love story in one sitting and below is what I felt about it.
I LIKE Be My Perfect Ending Because,
…it does not have regular romance novel clichés. Armaan does not ‘save’ Sara when she is in any trouble. She handles her own problems and he handles his. Romance is not over-the-top with him doing romantic stuff that guys do not really do for their lady love. Armaan is romantic but not overly emotional. He has his ways of showing his love and he does that ample number of times in the story.
…the writing is simple and smooth. It is a regular love story without any major plot-twist. I finished this book in three hours including several breaks.
…Armaan hits the nail on the head with his reply to his landlord. In the book, Armaan’s landlord mocks his profession saying that he hates watching TV because of the poor content in serials. Armaan snaps that, ‘…We write shit because the audience expects shit from us, it’s time for you guys to get matured. The day you guys do that, you’d see India producing the best of television content, which might still be out if some people’s league to even understand.’ This is so damn true. It hurts to even read it. Indian TV industry works on TRP’s and any kind of output you get matches exactly the kind of demand in the market. I have ranted against this trend in so many of my posts that I do not wish to delve any deeper. But yes, the writer is absolutely right there. Do not hate the player, hate the game.
…the sheer contempt with which Nisha is described in the book makes me sure that she is a real character. In the book, Nisha is a typical intern sucking up to her boss to survive in the business. She spares no opportunity to demean Armaan only to please her boss. The way the narrator explains her character and Armaan’s’ feelings for her is simply hilarious. I could almost see Nisha before my eyes because Armaans’ hatred for her was palpable.
I Do NOT Like Be My Perfect Ending Because,
…I was confused with who the narrator was. At first, it seemed like a first-person narration as it felt like Armaan was narrating the story. But somewhere in the middle of the book, I realised that it is actually a third person narration focusing majorly on Armaan and occasionally on Sara. But then why was the narrator being so philosophical? The narrator would constantly speak about life, love, hope, regret and every other topic you can think of. The narrator even justified twice that Armaan had ‘nothing against homosexuals’. Actually the way the story was being narrated it would have made more sense if it was narrated by Armaan because that is what I believe it actually was. At least that way all the philosophy would make some sense.
…it was toooooo philosophical for me. The writer adds random thoughts after almost every scene which makes the book a lecture on philosophy. The book could have easily done without the extra ‘gyaan’. At one point it felt like the writer wrote the story only to be able to record his late night random musings in a book.
…characters in the story lack depth. They were all one dimensional and half-baked. Of all the characters in the story, I was most disappointed by Sara as I felt she could have been a much better heroine than she was. I think she was an ‘orphan’ in the book only so she could live-in with Armaan without any ‘family issues’. She has no backstory of how she grew up and reached her position at work or how she met her ex-boyfriend or how she became such a confident modern woman. There is no meat on her. How am I supposed to believe her character? She is more like a puppet dancing to the writer’s tune without any character motivation. I don’t know why, but to me, the book felt a lot like an episode in a romantic TV series. No backstory, no character development just plain love affair.
…certain points explained in the story were too hard to digest. For instance, Armaan feels proud about achieving a lot in a very short time. He even says that he has become a household name and people who know him either respect him or envy him. Now, Armaan is a TV writer. I personally have been watching Indian TV shows all my life. I have devotedly followed several TV popular serials but till date, of all the shows I have seen, I do not know the name of a single writer behind these shows. I am not saying that writers cannot be famous but an Indian TV writer becoming a ‘household name’ is difficult to believe. That is because most of the time there is more than one writer involved in TV scripting and writers of a show even change quite often. Also, Armaan does not elaborate his ‘big achievements’ in the book for me to believe him. It is sad but true that writers in our country do not receive the credit they truly deserve. Though Armaan being ‘famous’ is difficult to buy, I still hope his words come true and writers in our country start receiving more acknowledgement than they have been getting.
Final View: Be My Perfect Ending is a very light romantic read. The writing is simple and easy to understand. If you like regular Indian romances then you might like this one.
I only picked up this book because a friend recommended it to me, as she had read other books by this author and we decided to read it together as a book-club pick.
If it wasnt for her, i would have stopped reading this book halfway through and saved myself from wasting more time on this story.
My friend enjoyed this book very much.
I, however, did not like this book, its story, its plot, characters, or even to be more basic, the storytelling.
So here's a spoiler-free list of all the reasons i disliked this book.
Pros: I always believe that every story written deserves to have at least one good point spoken about it, for all the hard work the author put in to write it down and get published.
So here's the only point i thought was worth reading at all: the author wrote some insightful monologues that had some depth - about guilt, love, relatiosnhips - etc. And those thoughts and diary entries were basically decent enough to read, and the quotes nice enough to highlight.
Cons:
1. The Premise -
The author based the story in Mumbai, without probably actually living there or even doing a detailed research on the place. Sure, the landmarks and city layouts were mentioned correctly, references to the monsoon floods, traffic, and street food was also fine. But what irked me from the get go was how far off the author was in writing about torrential rainfall in Mumbai in the month of May - which every person living there definitely knows never happens. The rains dont start until June.
Another thing that annoyed me was the repeated mention of the rental flat in Powai costing a rent of 35k a month was so expensive. The aforementioned flat also has a jacuzzi tub, is spacious and in one of the posh areas of the city. And every person living in the city for any amount of time knows that 35k rent for such a flat in the area mentioned in the story is a steal, and in reality would cost more than two to three times the rent mentioned in the story. This could have been avoided if the author had simply googled the rental rates of apartments in that area.
2. The Story/Plot -
The story lacked any meaning. It began in a way sounding all mysterious and morose, hinting at something deeply life altering. And yet, it failed to deliver. The story lacked the most basic thing - a decent plot. This should have been the focus of the book, but the author spent more time writing self-musings and thought-for-the-day kind of monologues instead of developing an engaging plot.
This being a romance story, the blossoming love should have been the focus of it all. But the journey of falling on love is not explored or elaborated. The MCs just conveniently meet and fall in love almost at once and the reader is left wondering what the rest of the book is filled with!
And the flow of writing, the storytelling, which is the soul of the narrative is stilted and abrupt, making the reading ten times as difficult to get into. This book lacks a smooth flow of text that even the most basic and boring mills&boon romances have. And the reader has to truly, painfullly, concentrate on the written words to make sense of whats happening in the story, making it just too much of an effort for a story that is supposed to be a light romance.
3. The Characters -
All the characters in the book, including the Main Characters (MCs) fall flat and forced and stereotypical. I couldnt being myself to csre about any of them.
The author does try to make them sound mysterious, which it does in the first chapter, but after that, you realize quickly enough that they are all one dimensional without any depth or personality. The side characters are many, but none of them actually stand out or are of any importance to the plot of the story. Even if you erase every other character put there, the story would still been the same.
And the author has westernised the characters far too much to sound believable.
Also, sufficient background for the characters, for being the way they are, is not given and the reader is left wondering why the hell are they behaving like that. There is no goal in life, no aims, no desires or motivations like how it is for real people.
4. The Dialogues -
The dialogues were cringe-worthy, unnecessarily dramatic and stereotypical, and - they sucked. It was irksome how one character would keep taking for several paragraphs before the other character even had a chance to reply. Which real person delivers speeches in the midst of a conversation?
And right in the middle of a conversation, the author suddenly has them thinking their thoughts in the first person POV and you are left trying to hurriedly guess whether its a part of ther conversation, or narration or their private musing!
All the discussions/conversations between the MCs or the other characters sound forced or plain robotic, not realistic at all to even sound believable.
Also, the author has this habit of repeatedly writing that a character 'shouted' the dialogue even when there.is not need for the character to shout - raise their voices maybe, but thats not shouting!
And the bromance shown between the MC and his flatmate was utterly ridiculous and silly, not to mention too forced. Bromance, when executed properly can add such beautiful flavour of friendship and brotherhood to a story, but in this book, it only annoys and sounds ridiculously annoying.
5. The Climax -
The climax was the most boring/stupid/illogical part of the whole book. I am stupefied as to how the editor even approved of it.
It was so utterly ridiculous and juvenile that it made me want to pull my own hair out in frustration. The climax was another crucial point where the author should have at least googled Mumbai rains a bit more.in depth. There are so many, far more believable ways of doing it, as simple as being swept away in an open ditch or manhole - all of which unfortunately do happen time and again during the monsoon floods.
The twist that followed the climax was not unexpected and even if no one saw it coming until the climax, it still.lacked any value at all. The epilogue was abrupt and cold, as if the author got bored and just couldn't bear to write more, or explain more.
I get it that one could argue that the abrupt climax and epilogue was just like real.life, where things happen and end abruptly, without warning, and maybe, at the hands of a better author, it would have managed to emphasize that point in soulful writing, but in this book, it all.sounded just cold and dry and in any case, by then, i was just waiting for it to be over with.
My Conclusion:::
It was a MEH read that i 100% would have dropped less than halfway through the story, if it wasnt for the fact that it was a Book-club read.
The book was boring and a complete waste of my time and the effort it took to finish it.
Suffice to say that i wont be picking up another book by this author anytime soon.
This is the fourth book of Arpit and the first book for me which I have read.and I'm much impressed with the work of Arpit, he had packed all the things which make this book more interesting.Let's talk about the cover first, a book should not judge on the basis of its cover but the cover of this book is damn attractive. If I talk about the content of this book then in this book you will read the story of Armaan a writer who writes for one television show and living in Mumbai his flatmate was much of a party person and totally opposite from Armaan. But when Sandy needed emotional support, Armaan was always there to helped him, thus making the bond stronger with time., and the situation of the first meeting with Sara a new supervising producer. Sara had rejected entire script of one episode which was written by the Armaan and suggested him to rewrite the entire episode as Script wasn't up to the mark as per Sara's point of view.Armaan could not do anything else he had to rewrite the entire episode.Armaan was much curious about the first meeting with the new Supervising Producer who rejected his Script.Somehow story runs with a flow and at one point Armaan and Sara became friends and then the love story gets started, Armaan and Sara meet in FILMY style and quite obviously then, cannot help but fall in love. The passionate new romance in his life throws everything else aside, but little does he know that there’s a storm headed their way, Sara a beautiful girl who lost her parents and Armaan who is living far away from his mother but whenever he feels low he calls his mother to feel good.but then after sometime one thing happens between Armaan & Sara to know what? you must read this beautiful book by Arpit Vageria.without revealing much from this book I'm ending my review here but I must say one this about this book, a page-turner book for me and I'm damn sure for all readers too
Book Title: Be My Perfect Ending Author: Arpit Vageria Genre: Fiction/Drama
Book Title: The book title ' Be My Perfect Ending ' hints the reader the book might be a love story or en emotional story.
Book Cover: The book cover is just a digital image of couple having happy times in the beach. The colors in the background are very beautiful and eye catching.
Plot: Armaan, a young, aspiring and zealous man, who is a television writer is the protagonist of the story. The story starts with his love story. He falls in love with a girl he once saw at one of the Mumbai beaches. He feels an instant karmic connection with her that he cannot explain. Sara, the female protagonist in the story also works in the same company as Armaan does. Sara is a girl with a teary and lost love story who happens to find love again with Armaan. Incidentally, Sara is the girl he saw at the beach. Sandy is another character introduced as Armaan's flat mate. Both are very good friends and support each other emotionally.
The collision of emotions between Armaan and Sara are beautifully depicted. Life is anot n=bed of roses is again explained through their journey.Author has made a classy attempt in binding few interesting philosophical topics of life with the ongoing story.
Narration: A different style of narration is observed and it's definitely striking.
Characters: All the characters are plotted perfectly .
Language & Grammar: Good language and neat vocabulary is used.
My Verdict: An good read with an surprising climax.

'Be My Perfect Ending' by Arpit Vageria takes us through the romantic journey of Armaan and Sara in Television Industry.
Armaan tests his fate writing for a TV show in Mumbai, Sara works as executive producer for the same Chanel. Sara meets Armaan for the first time in beach accidentally and becomes his love at first sight. Author also gives a picture of life in television industry, casting couch and the dark side.
Sara, being brought up in an orphanage and already heart broken due to previous relationship, has love Phobia, she couldn't firmly believe in longevity of her relationship with Armaan.
It's just another love story depicting Armaan's love for Sara, unconditional, braving his fears ...
Author says 'Not every story has a happy ending but is a perfect ending all that matters?' and ends the book in the same words as the first chapter (the same replacing Armaan by Sara). The book ends with death of Armaan leaving Sara with his Memories unlike beginning where Armaan was brooding over dead Sara's thoughts.
Narration is good and has a flow throughout the book, the insecurities, fears of Armaan are used as twists or hooking points in the plot. Overall it's a good read but the ending isn't great! Though a happy ending isn't required but the ending seemed too common..
“Life doesn't begin with a ‘happy'new year, nor does it end with the same spirit. What's more, it doesn't even stop when you lose someone you couldn't once live without. Life simply doesn't begin or end. Life goes on. You still breathe, you still care, and you still live."
‘BE MY PERFECT ENDING ' is a story which based on true love. This is a story about Arman & Sara . Arman is young television writer who is busy with his work most time. He have a good job and good place to live in Mumbai, but his heart lies somewhere in his hometown Indore . One day accidently he met a girl from beach. He started liking her at their first meeting. They both hired the same auto while coming back. After receiving a message he was shocked to know that the girl was Sara ,the new executive producer. Like many other television professionals, they too struggled financially and had shifted in together to share expenses. Eventually they become lovers. But Sara was not sure about the relationship because of her past experiences. Sometimes, not every story has a happy ending. But is a perfect ending all that matters? Will their love story end perfectly?
When you have a bad past, somehow you develop insecurities about yourself, about being enough for someone or even to yourself. - The book is about the story of Armaan & Sara who are the main characters. The story starts with Armaan who is a writer working for a television chhanel & is very honest with his work as well as about his feelings. In the rush of the city like Mumbai, one day he met Sara at an unexpected place & time. To his surprise they both have something in common that made them closer to each other as time passes by. While Armaan is very honest & a straight forward guy, Sara is unsure about herself & so many things in her life because of her past. As they continue thriving in their personal & professional lives, they discover each other & about themselves too till the end. . This book shows some parts of the life style the actor & actresses lead. This is a story of love, romance & personal choices one makes in his/her life in different situations compelled by different purposes/needs. So overall for me the story is not extraordinary but an average read. 🙂

Does falling in love make one lose the track? Does coming out of love make ka find the track? We all run behind stories that have happy endings. Right? Be My Perfect Ending in totality breaks the myth that demands every story to have a happy ending . sometimes all you need is a relatable story . Story moves around Armaan and Sara . They both were television professionals. They too struggled financially and had shifted together to share expenses . Armaan was prudent in a way that Sara had never been . Thanks to his middle class upbringing . Sara had lost her parents early in life .and Armaan's concern for her made her feel significant . They made their vows and promised to love each other forever .
sometimes not every story has a happy ending . But is a perfect ending all that matters ??
Be my perfect ending, the tittle completely suits the plot of the whole novel. The plot is very relavent and as per expectations, a story of two persons sara and Armaan who crosses path to meet in same field and ultimately falling in love. But this is not the ordinary story after that as how fight the storm which was ahead and how not every story is made to have a perfect end. Overall Arpit vageria has done amazing work with this novel, the language is very lucid and easy to understand with proper tinge of thriller. The cover is simple yet elegant. This is the story that shows the promise of love and relationships.
I bought this book only because of its title "be my perfect ending" Isn't it sounding really amazing. I must say the marketing strategy used for this book is just fab it got me. The book doesn't have a happy ending the ending is very uncertain and unrelatable it just pops from nowhere. I didn't like the book because the book didn't have anything new to offer but if I have to tell you one thing that I liked liked about this book is the fact that this book taughts us the importance of our parents in our life and why we should spend more time with them. I would just say it had a very weak plot and a stupid ending. Thank me later for saving your money.
This book has some powerful quotations that are worth bookmarking. The book begins with a very good plot. Very few characters, the story of very short span. Everything is fine but the tragedy at the ending, I felt was a bit raw. I felt somewhere the story lost its momentum midway. Armaan character just disappears from the world abruptly. It may be the case in real life. And possibly that is how most lives end in accidents.

This is a good feel story of Armaan and Sara. As every usual man desires, this story carries a vow of love till the end and after that too. Love is something that festoons the life of a mortal, that's no exception in Armaan and Sara's life. Though every factor of their love story is uncertain, their passion for love has no edge. Like every love, they also had the part of peril which separated them for life, but their love remains until this planet prevails
Very good book. The Story is amazing and the dialogues are worth highlighting. The journey of Armaan and Sara is unique. The conflict point is conveyed nicely. There are some unwanted descriptions (like the rain in Mumbai, it took almost 3 pages to describe). Overall Feel good story, definitely worth reading.
The narrative felt disjointed, leading to a sense of disconnect between the reader and the story. The plot lacked the depth and coherence I was hoping for, making it difficult to fully immerse myself in the world the author was trying to create. Overall, I found the novel to be below average and it did not meet my expectations.
