Finally he said, 'there isn't a four-year-old in this country that I'd be seen dead with at a pig fair.'

She wrote in collaboration with her cousin Violet Martin aka "Martin Ross" under the pseudonym "Somerville and Ross". Her 'Irish RM' books were made into a TV series in 1983
