Irons #3

Being Graves

"The ASIN B078MP8FL9 has been moved to the latest edition."

Confident. Charming. Magnetic. Irresistible.

Women undress me with their eyes and fantasize about an evening with me in Club Irons. Those who get their chance rave about our time. I’m self-sufficient, and I don’t need or want a permanent woman in my life.

I like my sex kinky, hard and a touch on the rough side. And I don’t mix sex with emotions. I’m unable to give a woman anything but an evening of pleasure, and I’m not looking for anything complicated. I just want fun sex with no ropes attached…unless I’m the one applying the rope.

At one time I thought I was destined for a life of loneliness, chased by the demons of my past. Things have changed. I have a few exceptional friends who have become my family and are everything to me.

Sure, I have my share of regrets, but I don’t like talking or sharing much from my life. There are parts of my past that I may never reveal to anyone.

Ever.

This is saw a great read. I was crying as the stories were going back and forth between past and present. It broke my heart seeing how bad Anthony was treated as a child by his Mom and Step-Dad and how he struggled to let his real Dad in to love him the way he should've been loved his whole life. I love the close bond he had with Blake and how Blake wanted to help and include him in things so he wasn't alone.

I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

💔💔💔 He won't break your heart -- but his story will. 💔💔💔

Another beautifully and moving story by Drew Sera! This book continues the story of Anthony Graves' formative years and his path toward the family he forms with his friends from Club Irons.

This story is painful to read, but it's pain with a purpose. It helps you understand Anthony's torturous past and makes you want to protect him from it.

Drew Sera is masterful in her descriptive writing and paints a picture with every written word. The subtle phrases and insightful passages give life to Anthony's story. There WILL BE TEARS. Don't fight them. Let them wash over you and cleanse your spirit as Anthony Graves takes control of your heart.

He won't break your heart -- but his story will. Knowing what his future holds will soothe your soul and give you hope.

Being Graves is Extraordinary!!!

Being Graves picks up where Saving Graves left off. It’s a moment that seemed pretty benign at the time, Colin and Matt approaching Anthony to ask him about the candles he used in his last scene. But that conversation is anything but benign, it changed everything. It was the beginning of a brotherhood. An unbreakable bond was formed especially between Anthony and Colin. The concept is so foreign to Anthony but because Colin seems to understand him and some of his pain, he trusts Colin and in doing so, his world opens up for the better. They begin working together and kinda playing together. YES, this book contains a lot of hot, steamy, kinky sex. However, Anthony’s demons continue to haunt both his waking and sleeping hours. These nightmares/ flashbacks will make your skin crawl and bring you to tears. Anthony is learning to cope with them the best he can with his new support system. It’s no surprise to hear me praise Drew Sera because I adore her work and I think everyone should read all her books so please check them out. This book in particular I loved because of the way Drew portrayed the bond between these men over the course of close to 2 decades. They would do anything for one another and I found that to be extraordinarily beautiful. It’s proof that you don’t need to be blood to be family.

I fell in love with Colin when i read the Everett Gaming series, and will admit i still claim colin wholeheartedly! With that being said, OH ANTHONY!

I have loved the journey Drew has taken us on to help us understand Anthony on a deeper level and to fall in love with him even more! I won't lie tho, this is a GUTWRENCHING story! (but also where the famous "wink" really comes into play)

When we experience atrocities against us, it leaves it's mark. The horrors can form who we are and who we think we can or cannot be. In these times, it's when we need friends/family the most, but what if you don't have any? or what if the relationships are new and you don't feel like you can share that "layer" of yourself?
Being Graves is brilliantly written, with haunting flashbacks that will hit you like a punch in the gut and make you reach for your kleenex.
I found myself drawn to Anthony sooo much more and when I finished this book it made me want to jump right back into the Everett Gaming Series for a reread!

Drew Sera is a must read author! i HIGHLY recommend!

I first came across Drew Sera in another author's group. I ended up winning an e-copy of her book Fragile, the first book in her Everett Gaming Series. I devoured it and was hooked. Since then, I have read every single book Drew has written, and with each new book I have fallen more and more in love with her characters. Being Graves is no different. There are so many scenes that make my heart hurt for the little boy that Anthony was, and the utter torment and sadistic abuse he suffered. But every one of those things helped to mold him to be the man he is. In Being Graves, we get to watch the friendship between him, Colin, and Matt develop and grow. The bond they have goes deeper than friendship and its so touching. The book isn't all dark and brooding, there are some moments that will make you smile, and plenty of kinky scenes to make your inner kinkster purr with happiness. Another wonderful read from a very talented author!

Emotional, heartfelt, hot, amazing...I could go on and on. This is the second story that gives a peak into Anthony's life before meeting his Sunshine. During his flashbacks, I just want to reach out and hug and tell him it will all be ok. This book made me fall even more in love with Anthony and the whole crew from EGS. A must read for anyone looking a for a hot, yet dark story.

This gives us more insight to the past and the present of how Anthony's life is progressing and it is so emotional parts full of hatred and frustration growing up in the abuse he had to endure was heartbreaking as a child and now in his adult life he still struggles but has earned friends that he can call family finally and they are so loyal to him its a beautiful thing and makes you say finally he has someone that has his back. I really liked Colin and Matt and Blake is still there as a father figure and a beautiful man and I have a lot of respect for him and I love how he still looks out for Anthony. This is so well written it sucks you right in and you feel every single thing that you read with shock and so much love for this man it hurts your heart.I voluntarily read a readers copy of this book

Oh how I've missed my Anthony... So strong yet so vulnerable. This part of Anthony Graves life is so so horrible that I hated to read about it but it is this life that has got him where he is today. His young life so terrifying so miserable.. it is beyond me to think where/how he stands today... how anyone can come through this life is incredible. As we see his life starts to improve as his bond grows with Blake.. and of course his newly acquired brother, Colin and Matt. I felt so emotional throughout this book.. never knowing when I was going to well up. Anthony is a need I must itch whether it be from his horrifying past or his brightening new future with Colin.. Matt.. Blake and of course Sydney. Drew Sera I am in awe of you and your phenomenal writing skills. Bravo.

In Being Graves we learn more and more about the horrors that Anthony suffered as a child. We also see how those experiences still cloud the life he lives so many years later. However the core of this story is the friendship that develops between Anthony, Colin and Matt. The family that Anthony makes with his friends may start to heal the scars that his own family left behind.

While the story showcases Anthony becoming the man that we meet in the Everett Gaming series, the flashbacks to his childhood and the horrors that get hinted at explain so very much about the Dom that Anthony becomes. With each flashback readers see just how damaging every single day of Anthony’s young life really was. With each chapter I wanted to hurt those who caused so much pain in Anthony’s life.

Being Graves is another heart wrenching novel by an author that is at the top of my one-click list.

I received an arc copy of Being Graves for an honest review. This is the third book in the Club Irons series and a must read. I personally think that the Club Irons series should be read before the Everett Gaming Series. In Being Graves we learn all about Anthony and why he is the way he is. As you read the story Anthony has flashbacks that will rip your heart out, but it helps us get to know the real Anthony Graves and the way he grew up. This is a very well written book and has a story that flows. If you are looking for a book that will touch your heart this is the book to read. I recommend this book.

I have loved Anthony and all of his flaws and now that they are all exposed I can understand him and love him all the more. This is another story from Drew that gives you all of the feels in her book, she has such a talent to just insert you right into his life and story. You will loose your place in the real world till you look up from the book!

Drew Sera wow just wow. This is the second part of Anthony’s story and you won’t be disappointed. We get to learn more of him and see how he comes into being a man. With Blake supporting him and finding new friends in Colin and Matt. You will all fall in love with Anthony even though we all know he had a tough childhood he is strong and the women can’t keep there eyes of him. If you haven’t read Saving Graves you need to before you read Being Graves.
The Irons club series is full of hot BDSM scenes that may make you hot. No matter what Drew Sera writes it’s very HOT and gets you feeling every emotion with the story. 5 Stars for this latest Book.

Anthony is that man that CLAIMS your attention and COMMANDS it fully

Drew Sera… has yet again delivered such an exceptional book with Being Graves. Your breathe will be stolen by the words and imagery Drew conveys inside these pages.

From the beginning of the Club Irons series - Anthony Graves was the character that one had to experience for themselves by reading and immersing yourself in his story. No words can ever do this character justice. If you have the opportunity - start fresh from the beginning and please read his story to fully appreciate the depth, inner strength and quality of this character and the people that lovingly surround him.

This is Anthony’s life right now. His journey. It’s not a love story but a story of the bonds of friendships formed amongst those he finally feels connections with. The seeds of finally belonging and hope are planted.

Highly emotive. Sensually explicit, in its Club scenes - because now you get both Anthony and Colin together. Oh boy they do give you blistering heat and make a impact on your senses. The beautiful bonds of connections, friendship and brotherhood (Anthony, Colin, Matt and continuing those established with Blake ) that are formed makes reading a pleasure. Then there are the moments - deeply disturbing in the glimpses of past memories and nightmares experienced that brings anger and sadness. How does one manage to get through such travesties. With fortitude, strength and gritty determination the only way he knows how. Totally unconventional to most but for Anthony his normal. He has found an outlet in the most unexpected ways, in the confines of the BDSM world, in particular - Club Irons - to ease his burdens and control his pain, from a past steeped in violence and depravity. Within Club Irons, he is becoming the embodiment of Master at such a young age.

It’s within Club Irons, that he commands attention from woman because he is exacting and detail oriented and gives the women what they need without taking anything except having his physical needs met - no emotional outpourings allowed, nor wanted. It will take someone extraordinarily special to get past his solid, protective defensive barriers.

For any reader, while this book has moments that are dark and disturbing, it also has those amusing and heart touching moments and sizzling sex scenes that make you melt. Please read with an open mind. You just might find that book that resonates and touches your heart and soul.

Settle in and read Drew's - BEING GRAVES. Anthony is that man that CLAIMS your attention and COMMANDS it fully. He is definitely turning heads!

Being Graves: A Club Irons Novel by Drew Sera

Absolutely loved this installment in the Club Irons series by Drew Sera. Anthony is a complex character that has had a hard life. By far this is one of my favorite books in this series because it starts to cross over into The Everett Gaming Series. This entire series is around Anthony and his story. He has many layers that I don’t believe we have gotten totally through yet.

Up until this book we have gotten a good look at Anthony’s past and what he had to endure at the hands of his mother, step-father and school Principle. We have learned about injuries and have gotten a sense of the sexual abuse he lived through. We also see the Anthony we fell in love with, the successful CFO of Everett Gaming and sought after Dom at Club Irons.

He is the epitome of the bad boy with tattoos, muscles and a need for rough play (drooling here). Women undress him with their eyes everywhere he goes and has found his place in his world. We learn some very special things about Anthony that we didn’t read anywhere else. HAHAHA not going to tell you. He isn’t as tough as he wants us to believe and I was absolutely okay with that.

I sure hope this wasn’t the last installment in this series because I’m hoping we get to read his perspective on fragile kitten when he first encounters her. Will he be able to ever really let anyone in? Crossing my fingers for this to continue.

If you are a fan of Anthony or Drew Sera this entire series is a must read. You will not be disappointed and will be left with a need to continue. I highly recommend.

Review willingly being left on behalf of Reading Through Her Eyes

This book takes place after Saving Graves, so it's recommended that you do read that one first. Anthony in this is a young man growing into the man he becomes in the Everett Gaming Series. We're taken on a ride into his life and the reason he's the way he is.

Overall Thoughts: Drew Sera has one again brought me to tears with her dark past of the character I have come to love over the course of reading this author's work. Anthony's story is emotional and heartbreaking; you're thrown into his horrendous past in various forms like flashbacks and nightmares. If you don't like the topic of abuse then this book is not for you. I devoured this book from start to finish in one sitting because I was on the edge of my seat wanting to know where Drew Sera was going to take us on this journey. This is a book I highly recommend and I also recommend to check out the rest of Drew Sera's books!

Being Graves is the continuation of Anthony’s story, prior to what happens in The Gaming series.

In this book, there is the continued progression of Anthony trying to get over what happened in his past, while trying to make a good life for himself. He meets Colin and Matt, who become his best friends. He shares a lot of things with them, but there are still things that Anthony can’t share because they are too painful.

This is a very powerful and well told story of the continued healing of a man that had a horrific childhood. He is still trying to come to terms with what happened to him, which takes time. In the meantime, he is excelling at his job and with making friends.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, although some parts were hard to read. For all that he went through, it definitely makes me love Anthony all the more.

Everything you wanted to know about Anthony past comes out and yes it is dark. In Being Graves, you come to understand Anthony more on how he is the way he is. He has found a way to protect himself while learning to trust others. There are some triggers in this book, that causes you to put it down and digestive it first before continuing on. But it is so worth it.

Again Drew Sera writes so well that you as a reader can feel what her characters are feeling and going through. You will see there are times where you want to reach into your kindle and just shake Anthony because of how he deals with his pain but then you also want to reach in just to grab him and hold him. This was a powerful and moving story. I highly recommend all of Drew's books.

Drew Sera has brought us deeper into the life and helped us understand a little more about our favorite dark, heartbreaking, and sexy Dom Anthony. She brings some of our others in and they show the support and caring that Anthony never thought was possible. This book will make you cry, it will make you smile and even will get you tingling in places. A must read!! Drew thank you for another epic book! Can't wait to see where book 4 in the Irons series takes us next.

Brought me to tears towards the end. Each scenario painted a picture of how his life was brought up as a child. As the author bounces from past to present. Not being loved by his mother. Mistreat it by Bruce and Connor. Giving him nightmares of his past. Losing his father. Meeting two friends Colin and Matt. That see him as a brother. Playing with them golf and eating together for lunch or dinner. Everywhere Anthony goes woman melts underneath him. Blake is concern about something he founds out. He's trying to figure a solution to this problem. Will Anthony open himself more for Blake? And let him help him. So he can let go of what is bothering him? I recommend you to read this book. You would love it. It deserves more than five stars. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy.

I didn’t think I could love Anthony anymore than I did after the first book. Colin and Matt was a treat. Nice to see more of Blake as well.
The way it was written that made you look into Anthony’s life brought tears in my eyes as well as laughters.
I liked the time changes so I could follow him during the years.
Don’t know what to say. I just Loved the book.

This is the follow up book to Saving Graves, and another must read. You continue to get to know Anthony and his new and deepening relationship with Colin and Matt.
The flashbacks to his childhood physical, psychological and emotional abuse, while very difficult to read, show you how it still affected him as an adult. He is a very complex man.
I was gifted an ARC by the author for an honest review.

This was such an amazing read! This is the second part of Anthony’s story and It was great to read his memories and his point of view to fit into the series. Once you read the series it gives you a better insight to everything when it comes to the relationship with Sydney. This is a series that you don’t want to miss out on. I would defiantly recommend this book! Advanced readers copy.

Anthony’s story continues in this book giving us more insight into his horrendous childhood. It’s amazing that he survived what he endured let alone became the man he does. Blake’s mentoring and his new found friends to brothers in Colin and Matt make this story unforgettable! I recommend you read anything you can by Drew Sera! Her books are powerful and grip you from the beginning leaving you with a book hangover for days!

I did't think this series could get any better. Drew Sera will take you into the troubled, abused world of Anthony Graves. She allows the readers to see the dynamic relationship between Anthony and Colin. It also explains the things Anthony fights each day to overcome and with the love of his friends they try each day to help him see that he is worth it and that he is a remarkable person. As you take this journey with Anthony though his flashbacks you will cry, get mad but most of you will fall in love with this character. You will get a better understanding of his relationship with Sydney and Colin.. Drew you have outdid your self. On to the next chapter. This is a must read. This book takes you a loving journey of a lifestyle one could only hope for.

While I loved this book and all of Drew Sera's books, it constantly amazes me that human beings can be so cruel to each other and especially defenseless children. I know rationally that this is a work of fiction, but it is so accurate and and Drew has the ability to make it real that itmakes me so mad. Thankfully, Anthony did not become an abuser himself and as we know from reading the Everett Gaming Series, Anthony finds his own happy ending. Thank goodness Drew released them in this order or I might not have made it to the end, as it is, I think I should invest in shares with Kleenex before I read the next one, I would make a fortune! A great book and I can't wait for the next one.
