Shameless #3

A Shameless Little Bet

How do I prove a negative?

I need to prove Jane is innocent, despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

Mirrors, smoke, and lies can conjure a truth that isn't real. Money, bribes, and power can twist reality. What we call proof is all an elaborate magic act.

So is love.

How do you prove you're in love? How can you know with unrelenting certainty that the person you can't live without really loves you?

It's all about what you believe. Who you believe. And I believe Jane. I love her. But it might be too late.

Or, worse - it might all be an illusion. If proof is just a magician's sleight of hand, then we're caught in a sick trick.

A deadly one.

One that doesn't end with applause.

But with a bang.

descriptionI don't really have much more to say about this book that I haven't already said in my reviews for the first two books. This was an amazing conclusion to a fantastic trilogy. The writing was phenomenal. It was fast-paced. The plot was intriguing and engaging. It was full of twists and turns that will make your head spin. Seriously, I am not sure how this author keeps everything straight in her head! I was happy to see Jane stop being everyone's favorite punching bag, and get her vindication. Silas got his head out of his a$$ permanently. Drew was somewhat redeemed. That said, I am still not a huge fan of how this author choose to portray him in this trilogy. Last, it was all wrapped up in a satisfactory ending that sets up the next trilogy (?) featuring Lily. So yea, all three books in this one get a HUGE recommendation from yours truly!description

A Shameless Little Bet is the final installment in the Shameless series and the story picks up where the second part left off. Going into this book, I was on the edge of my seat! The author deftly combines a beautiful romance and a spine-chilling mystery. She has done a great job keeping the action intense with each read. This story full of deadly secrets and deceit had me hooked from the start.

Silas set Jane up, rebuilding the trust he had established with her will take time. Jane wants to be impenetrable and unforgiving, and yet Silas is slowly unlocking all her defenses. I absolutely loved the romance between Silas and Jane, besides being hot and expertly interlaced with suspense, these two complex characters are growing and forging what feels like a solid connection.

With a target on her back, Jane is in danger. Silas wants to protect her at all cost and clear her name.

It’s amazing how this author has you hanging on each word and waiting to see what will happen next! I enjoyed the moment I was able to connect the dots. I don’t want to give anything away, but I found this final installment totally satisfying. The major puzzle pieces slowly fall into place and questions are answered.

This series is coming to an end with new revelations and the true masterminds being found out. Like the first two books, this one also starts with the beginning of what was the cliffhanger in Book #2. We discover that Silas is not dead and that it was all a big fat test to see if Jane was betraying the ones she cares about and loves. I hated the fact that Drew put her through this as OMFG how many times can Jane prove that she had nothing to do with it all and that she is the one who is being set up and surprisingly was the main target all along and not Lindsay. In Book #3 Jane learns that Alice has passed away and has left Jane her entire estate as she had no children or heirs to leave it too. Now with Alice gone, Jane feels more alone in the world and with more murders and attempts starting to stack up it seems that somebody will go to extremes to have Jane dead or set up for life imprisonment, just like they got her mother out of the way. In Book #3 Lindsay finally narrows her fathers down to three men, a bit like a Mamma Mia moment and we come face to face with Lindsay's real father which surprises a number of characters. I have to say the ending of this book was a bit of an OMG moment but then again it was justified. This series also goes to show the lengths of power people will go too in order to "rule the world" as with Alice's research, Jane and the others will unravel and 20+ year conspiracy. This was a good conclusion to the Shameless series and I am looking forward to reading her earlier works of Carrie's story since I have read all of the Harmless and the Shameless series.

Having read the trilogy, which must be read in order to make sense, I found the main character, Jane to be somewhat of a whiner. There was so much repetition of how she felt that I found myself skimming pages. I wasn't too bothered that someone wanted to kill her. Her choices at time were extremely immature for a person with a target on her back. Not only did she not seem to care about her own safety, she didn't seem to care that other people were targeted when she was around them. She was supposed to have a secret that was never fully explained. The "secret" was not really a secret at all. It was never clear to me if Silas was Secret Service or some other alphabet agency employee or if he was part of a security outfit. Drew was his boss, but I wasn't sure if Drew was the overall boss or someone else. To me, there were too many inconsistencies for a detail person like myself.

The person responsible for the whole scandal was the only person who had the most to lose which was obvious. However, the whole thing seemed counterproductive to this person's overall objective.
It wasn't a bad story, but could have been fit into one book with less rambling.

A Shameless Little Bet is a brilliant culmination to this epically exceptional series! I have been literally dying to read this book, and it blew my heart and mind apart. Nothing prepared me for the fierce battle that was laid before me with both sides mounting a precise and calculated attack. My heart was decimated until there was nothing left as I watched the horror that unraveled until there was nothing left. The simple yet intricate plot left me utterly speechless as the last threads of this grotesque masterpiece came together for all to watch in abject revulsion. What you find is a no holds barred last attempt to remove and decimate a nagging and permanent stain of failure that can not be tolerated. This book is utter magnificence for the romantic suspense genre!

Jane knows this time she will either meet her Maker or the mastermind of her current nightmare. Everything is about to change, and she has finally reached the eye of this cyclone of incomprehensible evil also known as her life. What she didn’t expect was to have to fight for her very heart in the midst of this miserable excuse of an existence. When one obstacle after another comes between her and Silas, she will have to reach deep within herself and decide if their growing love is worth the last of her reserve of fight or if she is better of just walking away keeping that small piece intact for the endgame. When the bottom drops out under him, Silas starts to fight his way back to Jane only to discover the depth and breathe of her doubts about them. He can fight anything the comes between then, but he can’t fight against her because that would leave him fighting his own heart. Will Jane hold onto her greatest strength, or will she embrace her greatest weakness and finally fall to the vicious predator that hunts her?

This book painfully and desperately dug to the very heart of the danger that menacingly stalked the very definition of innocence. The evil that infiltrated this series penetrated and infected everything in its wake. Nothing is seen as off limits, and the fear of being revealed drove it to madness of epic proportions. You could say it was motivated with a desperation of a man doing everything to save the woman he has fallen hopelessly and irrevocably in love with. This is a story that devoured me whole, and I fell the very depths of its madness and hope that I could feel the desperation that clung to Jane and the frustration that dripped off Silas as they fought against an unknown yet dangerous enemy. This story rocked my world and enthralled my senses until I was lost to everything except the words that flowed effortlessly from these precious pages. This is the very definition of the perfect story!

Meli Raine continues to showcase her extraordinary talent that separates her and places her work in the ranks of the madly gifted. She is a goddess among authors, and will always be one of my all-time favorites. I savor every book that I have read by her, and her stories only continue to grow in grace, creativity, and excellence. Whatever genre you read, please do not pass up the unequaled opportunity to read and enjoy and experience a pulse-pounding and fabulously crafted story written by this fantastic author!

I’m at a loss for what to say about this one. If you are interested in this book, you’ve already read the first two books so you know that you’ll be reading this no matter what I say. There’s no way you got this far and aren’t ready to dive right in!! And if you didn’t read the others, read them!!

We pick up where we left off in the last book. We are thrust right back into the intensity and uncertainty. I was absolutely riveted as Raine finally connected all the dots in this stunning conclusion. With a story jam packed with twists and turns, she continues to deliver rich characters and exquisite writing. I don’t know how she manages to layer these stories so perfectly, while still managing to give us something we can connect so strongly with, but she does. I can’t get enough of her writing and knowing there is more within this universe has me giddy with excitement! I can’t wait for the next series.

The conclusion to this riveting and suspenseful trilogy is here. After the events that transpired in A Shameless Little Lie Silas is not the only one with trust issues. Jane feels devastated, betrayed and heartbroken and is not sure if she can ever look at him the same way.

Silas is determined to protect Jane and earn back her trust but the evil surrounding her just keeps getting closer. As they unravel layer by layer of this mystery it seems to bring more questions than answers but the biggest question of all is will they find out who is behind it before it is too late?

The story is an amazing ride with so many twists that you end up with whiplash. The author has created compelling characters that draw you in and the suspense leaves you on the edge of your seat and it all crescendos into an amazing climax. I really enjoyed Jane and Silas’s story and can’t wait to see what this author comes up with next.

Like I said with the previous book in this series, I am not a fan. The female lead, Jane, is just so annoying. Poor decision after poor decision. Learning NOTHING. People are literally dying all around her, everyone she comes in contact with. Yet she pushes and sneaks around to see people.... with the SAME result every. single. time. It got so old. I stopped seeing what on earth could be attractive enough for the love interest to see in her. The end comes, and there are some plot holes that are left unanswered as well. I loved the first Harmless series so much, this one fell way short. It was far to long for the little bit of stuff that happened. The internal dialogue is way too much. Narration was great. Sad though I wasted a credit on this series.

Another fantastic trilogy by Ms. Raine. I love her writing style and her intriguing plots that pull me and doesn't let go. I've read these books out of order, but I've read each trilogy in order. It hasn't affected my reading experience or didn't find them confusing. The narrators are outstanding. Happy reading and listening!

Just like previous books, this one has too much internal dialogue, too many (unimportant) dreams, and is too repetitive. It's all for the word count and has no bearing on the story. And... there is no end in sight. Another set of books is waiting. Well, I won't be baited this time. I'm finished! And I'm glad it's over. This second three-book series could have been great if cut down to a two-book series. I won't be reading any more books by this author 'cause I don't like been taking for a ride.

I was really disappointed with the end of this trilogy. It all started really promisingly with Silas being shot and Jane betrayed. It then seemed to lose itself in a mass of exposition and to be frank I didn’t care enough.
The poor flower shop girl Lily, just served the purpose of getting shot in the head and will now get her own series!
A bit of a befuddled mess for me....

Every time I get closer to the end, there is always something reeling me back in - that is Raine's books. Shameless series has been one hell of a ride and I am not sure if I am ready to go back for seconds or if I need to start from the beginning and read them all over again. I am addicted.

If you have, or even haven't read the Shameless series up until this point well the comrades might I suggest you do! A Shameless Little Bet is filled with more eye popping plot twists that honestly I may have shit my pants. Really, I think I may have. Everything has been leading up to this point, I guess I should point the obvious - what the hell is actually going on? The answers to all questions possible are finally getting resolved. This soap opera took a turn into conspiracy territory and I am loving it. Not only did the main characters really take a spin, but the secondary characters really played such a huge role in the suspense and undertone of the plot.

And the characters ..... oh my! Activate happy dance because comrades I got my wish! What was it? I needed to know what was in Silas' head and I flipping got it. I FINALLY GOT IT! That's right, we got the split perspectives this go and I am swooning from wall to wall, grinning from ear to ear because hot damn I needed to understand Silas.

Silas really has been the shadowing main character of Jane up until this point. Hate him, love him, as the reader we only get the perspective of his personality strictly by Jane. His every action up to this point has been two sides - possessively, borderline obsessive in love with Jane or founded, full of rejection counter. There was no between, no understanding or aiding in defending what was in front of him. Though this should piss you off as a reader, honestly the ringer he put Jane through left me livid in A Shameless Little Lie, but we finally get to understand him.

Jane on the other hand is finally to the breaking point. She is completely, devoting with a dash on insanity type of love with Silas. While battling her feelings for the asshole she is also still wrapping her mind around the secrets and lies she is finally discovering not only about herself, but her mother, father, hell her 'so called' friends, just about everyone. Regardless of the beat down her defensive side takes, she is still holding strong to her personality and really standing up for herself. Really I cannot gush enough about this character; as a female in her predicament is just perfection. She is broken yet strong, she is inferior yet she is powerful - she is really believable as a character.

I said it before and I will say it again - Meli Raine has beguiled me one hundred percent, there is no denying that I am absolutely captivated by her extraordinary writing style. She truly has such a refreshing style that I truly cannot gush enough about. Her characters have depth that is untouchable and plot twists that are beautifully complex that honestly she takes my breath away.

The Shameless series was perfection. The emotions that I experienced during this read was out of this world - she took my breath away. Silas and Jane's story was gut wrenching as it was beautiful, heart pounding as it was saddening. I devoured this series - absolutely inhaled it. If you haven't picked up anything from this author might I suggest you do this now! You can thank me later...

Once again Meli Raine has brought us an exciting romantic suspense filled with action, love, betrayal and surprises - lots of surprises.

As with the other series from Meli Raine, I have decided to review the story as a whole because really you cannot read one without reading all three, it is essentially one story broken into three parts.  I have loved the other books by this author and this set is no different.

This series, based around Silas Gentian and Jane Borokov, follows on from the Harmless Series.   Silas is awesome, I loved his character in the Harmless series and so pleased to see him get his own story. He is mistrusting and not at all happy about having to bodyguard for the lying, deceitful Jane, but the longer he spends with her and the closer they become he realises that what he thought was true may not be so clear cut.

Jane has a lot questions surrounding her and they are answered in this series along with so much more.

Since the 'incident' with her best friend, Lindsay Bosworth, was so publicly aired, Jane has become the most hated person in the USA prompting multiple death threats against her.  Jane continues to claim her innocence and when the Senator Harwell Bosworth requests protection for her, Silas is the lucky one to get the job.

There is plenty of tension between these two.  Jane is desperate to prove that she did not set up her friend and as her feelings for Silas grow she wants him to believe her more than anyone.  The trust/mistrust that encompasses this story plays throughout all three books and we find out why Silas has such trust issues.  There is, however, definitely no issues in the bedroom when the sexual tension takes over.  Silas, the sly dog, has a secret that we find out about in 'Bet' and I was really looking forward to reading more about this side of him but it never came about.  Maybe Meli could write a novella on "Jane and Silas - Bedroom Dominance"?

Many characters from the previous series crop up - Drew and Lindsay Foster, Harry and Monica Bosworth, Mark Paulson, Marshall.  But we do have a couple of new faces as well - Lily and Duff (next series main characters).

Lots of questions arise and most of them are answered.  Secrets are revealed and surprises are in abundance.  This was a fantastic continuation to what is an ever increasing story, told from the point of view of one particular couple in each series.

As one series leads onto the next and interlinks with others, I would suggest reading them in order as characters from all four series will be found popping up in others:

Breaking Away
Coming Home
Harmless
Shameless
Looking forward to seeing what happens between Lily, the flower shop girl, and Duff, the quiet and reserved bodyguard, in The False Series.

The thrilling conclusion in the Shameless trilogy is here and is packed with all of the punches. Meli Raine uses A Shameless Little Bet to answer all of the burning questions that have eluded us so far. Who is behind all of the attacks on Jane’s life? Who is Lindsey’s biological father? Will Jane and Silas be able to work out their differences and be allowed to be happy together?

The group is so close to unmasking the villain that they’ve been chasing and as they dig deeper and deeper into the information, the more and more danger they embark on. Jane can’t seem to see the light at the end of the tunnel, losing the small bit of hope at a life of normalcy, but Silas keeps her grounded.

With chapters written in Silas’s perspective, we start to understand exactly how this whole process has started to take a toll on him. You finally understand the intricate workings of his mind and how his job has consumed him and thus made him better at the same time. The events of her life have left Jane broken and wanting to build up her walls, ready to block out everyone who she thinks she couldn’t trust. Silas has to regain her trust and slowly break down those walls that she’s been building up so high.

With the ground being pulled out from them, friends being picked off like flies, and rumors circulated faster than the news can keep up with them, Silas and Jane have to find a way to get back to each other. Because in this crazy world, the only people who can keep you safe and sane are the ones who can see you for the real you.

Holy Crap. Did this novel keep me on edge. With every chapter, I was almost afraid of which character Raine was going to target next. The plot was filled with shockings twist that I would never have predicted. It made the conclusion of a fast-paced trilogy to be that much more thrilling. Everything about this novel was thrilling, not just the action scenes, but the ones that are centered around the relationships that people are dealing with; Silas and Jane, Jane and Lindsey, Monica and everyone. There are so many dynamic aspects of this story that it keeps you drawn into the story.

The conclusion to Jane’s story started where the previous book left off and I was on the edge of the seat clinging to hope and praying that everything would turn out okay. Now, I will not tell you how it developed but after that suspenseful ending of book #2 and the great start of this book, I felt a bit disappointed at how everything unfolded afterwards.

As far as I know, this was still supposed to be a romantic and suspenseful kind of story but although it was thrilling at some parts, it was rather lacking in the other compartment. If you’re looking for a romantic love story you’ll probably not be satisfied with this book or this series in general but you’ll absolutely get your fill of action. In my opinion, it just fell a bit flat here and could all have been done with two books.
‘My word isn’t enough for Silas.
My body isn’t enough for Silas.
My heart isn’t enough for him, either.
What is? When will I be good enough?
Never.
Never, I guess.’

Since I kind of guessed already who was behind all the stuff that happened to Jane – because come on, we got soooo many clues in the prior books and it was just really obvious – I felt the showdown somewhat lacking and the road to it unnecessary drawn out. I did like the reveals of more secrets and how complicated this net was spun but all in all it wasn’t as packing as I’d hoped it would be.

I liked Jane and Silas but this book was not my favorite of this series or this story of all the characters combined. What I am sure of though is that I CAN NOT WAIT for the next series!!! Oh my god! I can’t tell you anything about it but there’s a little peek at the end of this book and I am absolutely in!! Bring it on girl =)
‘None of us can protect a mind, and yet it’s the mind that is the most dangerous. Manipulation pushes people to the edge. It’s the edges that are the line between life and death. You can nudge someone from madness to action.
How much does it take?’

Wow!  What a crazy ride this series turned out to be.  Man, there were so many twist and turns to this plot, like a crazy roller coaster ride.  The final book in the trilogy of Jane and Silas wraps up nicely with a bow.  With an ending setting up for the next trilogy containing Lily and Duff's story.  I can't wait.

So as the books come to an end, many questions are getting answered.  Who is Lindsay's father?  Is Monica involved?  Where does Alice fall into all this?  Is Silas a double agent?  Some of the questions are answered and you go "hey they gave us a clue to that"  or "wow did not see that coming".

Meli Raine has really taken suspense romance to whole new level.  This whole series was a well was steady paced plot throughout, with so many twists that it keeps you turning those pages like a mad person.  Her characters are well-developed with strong personalities and complex nature.  I guarantee you will fall in love with them and feel invested in their stories.

I highly recommend this high energy  packed thriller.  Your head will spin from all the twist and complex nature of the story.  You will want to continue your journey with the characters even more when it is all said and done.  So if you haven't read any of Meli's books then start it right.  Here is the reading order:

The Breaking Away  Series (Chase & Allie)

Finding Allie
Chasing Allie
Keeping Allie
The Coming Home Series (Mark & Carrie)

Return
Revenge
Reunion
The Harmless Series (Drew & Lindsay)

A Harmless Little Game
A Harmless Little Ruse
A Harmless Little Plan
The Shameless Series (Jane & Silas)

A Shameless Little Con
A Shameless Little Lie
A Shameless Little Bet
The False Series (Lily & Duff)  COMING SOON

So worth the wait...

So I was halfway through a great book when I realized it was June 5 on the east coast. I randomly checked my kindle and there it was, "A Shameless Little Bet.". I can think of maybe one time I put a book on hold for a new release. The book wasn't great, so I didn't feel too bad and I did go back and finish it. But here I was really enjoying this novel and I make it a practice to finish what I am reading even if a new release was just delivered. Well...suffice it to say, I finished the chapter I was reading and went against my practice and put the novel on hold. I had been waiting as patiently as possible for the final novel in this trilogy. IT DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!

Meli Raine did not disappoint. In fact this trilogy may be her best yet, though I was just as enthralled with the Harmless trilogy. I liked how this one picked up from Harmless and really built on the characters. But something about Silas and Jane really captivated me. Her strength and his emotional side when brought together was enthralling. Seeing how Lindsey had slowly moved forward and going between the love/hate feelings toward Drew all made the novel that much richer.

Anyone want f a good trilogy read or even a stand alone novel, a mystery and suspense hit...This book/series is for you. You will not be disappointed and won't have to wait to read them all. My suggestion: read the four trilogies in order.

OMG! OMG! OMG! I did not see that coming! This is the third book in the Shameless series, the conclusion of Jane and Silas story. This book picks you exactly where the second in the series leaves off. In order to completely understand the series you should read them in order. This book has so much in it that I did not see alot of what was going on coming, it has surprise after next surprise, when I finally figured out what was going to happen I was so caught up and saying to myself I knew it! As I read I kept thinking why is Drew being such and arse! Well as I kept reading I found out why! This book has so many layers, it has intrigue, lots of mystery, love, hate, tears, sexiness, political history all while trying to figure out who and why they want Jane dead. Will Jane and Silas find a way to continue to love each other with all that is going on? How many more people have to be hurt/die in order to get to the bottom of all of this? What is Alice trying to get to Jane in all of those boxes? I am sorry to see this series come to an end but it opened the door to a new series. I love Meli Raine's books she is the best at mystery, scandel and intrique! I want to thank Meli Raine for giving me the opportunity to read an ARC of this book.

Genre: Romantic Suspense, thriller
Standalone: Nope - Read books 1 and 2 first.
Part of a Series: Yes Book 3 of 3 in the Shameless Series. This concludes Jane and Silas's story
POV: Jane and Silas
Steam Level: Toasty warm
4/5

A Shameless Little Bet is the final book of the Shameless series. Unlike books 1 and 2 it's dual POV. I like the addition of Silas's voice to the narrative. It adds that little extra to the make the story feel more complete and changes the tone. A Shameless Little Bet continues to be action-packed and full of twists and turns and death and destruction. I still haven't read Lindsay and Drew's story. While not necessary, I feel like it could have enhanced this story. And while the villain was not surprising I liked how it played out. Had the climax not been so intense I probably would have been a bit disappointed. However, all in all, the Shameless series in general, and A Shameless Little Bet in particular was a rip roaring adventure, full of intrigue, deceit, action, adventure, sass and life lessons. This is definitely a great series and I look forward to reading more Meli Raine in the future.

I received an advanced copy of this book for free. This is my honest and voluntary review.

I received this book from the author for an honest review. I loved reading this book. Told from dual pov's, it picks right up from the second book. Jane is upset on how Drew forces her to prove her loyalty. She is still trying to deal with Alice's death and then she feels betrayed by Silas. She is more convinced than ever that Lindsay's mom is behind all of the murders and attempted murders, she just needs to prove it. Lindsay, meanwhile, is trying to find out who her real father is. Jane has some of Alice's papers sent to her so she can start going through them. She comes across a box that might have evidence tying Monica to all of the other key players. There a few new players that Jane has not figured out yet as to where they fit in. After another attempt on her life, Jane is more determined than ever to find proof. When tragedy befalls one of her friends, she really becomes freaked out because her friend was mistaken for her. After a final showdown between some key players, Jane finally learns the truth and why she was targeted and Lindsay learns the truth to her paternity. I really liked the end of this book and can't wait to read the next series because I have an idea as to who the would be killer is.

The final installment of the Shameless series is one you won't put down until all your questions are answered.
This is an intense story that has so many twist turn, characters from other series, questions finally answered and the groundwork for the next book laid.
While the evil person (s) behind all that happened to Lindsey and Jane is revealed ( if you read all 6 books you probably figured out the main culprit) and thE the reason given but in all honesty it can't justify why this happened to them.
While Silas and Jane have trust issues their love and attraction for each other will win out just like Drew and Lindsey. I must admit I still don't like Drew.
I was also thrilled to see characters from other series, Mark and his family, intertwined in this story.
While I hate the cliffhanger in the first two books I always know the third book will not let me down and will answer all my questions.
If you are looking for a series with strong well defined characters, story lines that have twist and turn that will make you feel so deeply for the characters then you MUST read these books.
Can't wait for LIlya and Duff's series.
I was given this book for an honest voluntary review.

Confusions cleared

I just noticed that apparently I read the last series first. I started with the story of Drew and Lily and then I started with Silas and Jane. It is all so confusing and I would recomend to start reading at the beginning and go the "right" way.

This book that started with so much confusion is cleared out in the end, with only one question (which is answered in fake memory) who shot Lily?

It is quite the good story, but get really weird sometimes. The author, well if the goal is to create mystery, I guess mission is accompliced since I was confused a lot but so was the characters in the book do we had that in common.

There are some hot scenes, faul language and violence, if that is not something you can or want to read, this is not the book for you. But I have to give applause to Meli Raine for writing this many series and keeping the same red thread and mystery going, that is not easy and show a great author.

With all this said, I give this book a 3 out of 5 stars because it was more confusing than intriguing for me and kind of repetitive with the murders and murder attempts, and that chipped of the stars.

Jane is furious at Silas and Drew for testing her loyalty by faking Silas being shot. Jane ends her relationship with Silas and sacks Drews team as her bodyguard, well she tries to do it.

With each passing day and event or lie that comes up it becoming more amd more obvious that the person responsible is one of their team or someone close to the Senetor or Lindsay.

During the investigation they learn the true identity of Lindsay's bio dad, who the insider is that is causing all the confusion and threats. They also learn who was responsible for arranging the gang rape on Lindsay 5 years ago, which turned out they got the wrong daughter, the true target was Jane.

After the events of outing the true person behind everything over the last 5 years, killing Drew and Marks parents, Silas sister and killing them. The Senator becomes president. Lindsay and Jane are not by his side which means both Drew and Silas are not there either and they are actively avoiding their dad Harry.

In the end Silas and Jane get engaged and Lindsay and Drew are expecting their first baby.

Omygosh! This series is so intense! Meli Raine has written a superb series. She spins an intricate web of lies, betrayal, deceit, murder, mystery, suspense in this action packed drama with a sprinkle of humour. The steamy scenes between Silas and Jane are sizzling hot! Twists and turns in every direction you didn't see coming. Everyone is a suspect. Friends and lovers relationships are tested. Solid proof is the key.

Another attempt on Jane's life causes her dear friend to be put in the crossfire.  More secrets are revealed and lies are exposed as pieces of the puzzle begin to fall in place.

Even though Shameless Little Bet is the final book of this series, False Memory is the new introduction of another series. Lily's story. I can't wait to get my hands on this book! Absolutely love this series! I do suggest reading them in order. First two ends a cliffhanger and oh what a cliffhanger!

Loved the pearl necklace reference..urban dictionary.

This is A Shameless Little Bet, book 3 of the Shameless series, written by Meli Raine. This book finally explains a lot of the chaos surrounding Jane and Silas. If you don’t think a career politician will provide enough turmoil, add in a few of those initial folks(CIA, FBI, DEA) a known drug and gun runner, deep undercover agents, psycho scorned lovers and how about a hit man or two?? Talk about a fast-paced cluster and mindf@&k. You can’t decide who to trust, who to watch or who to hide from and the players keep changing page by page. But if you pick the wrong one...you will be dead....This series will hold you on the edge of your seat and have you screaming at the characters as they race from place to place. Oh wait, did I mention the BDSM club? No? Okay, there is one of those in this book as well! Be prepared to sit down and stay a while! This one has to be read from book one. Don’t miss a minute!

Meli, Meli, Meli....you kill me. You DID say you would redeem Drew and you did...but I still don't like him lol...This book is the final book in Silas and Jane's journey and it is certainly a doozy. As I was reading, I kept imagining what "the storyboard" must look like because there are so many moving parts, so many mysteries, so many different characters who have significant roles. It would seem inundating to me but Meli writes a completely seamless story where everything (well as I am starting to learn with Meli not necessarily EVERYTHING) comes together and makes some sense. With the introduction and more information on certain characters, I now know I need to go back and read The Breaking Away and Coming Home series because I NEED to know more (not a requirement though to enjoy this series for the record). If you enjoy twisted suspense with some definite steam, this entire series is a great place to be.

A Shameless Little Bet has brilliantly completed this series. This final installment has answered all my thoughts on not only Jane & Silas but also Lindsay & Drew.

In a Shameless Little Bet, Jane’s emotional state continues to unravel yet she begins to trust her instincts more. Lindsay and Jane both became stronger and determined together to find answers.

This final installment is a major read, it has revelations that have always been there. Throughout this series, I have questioned characters and motives for which I am glad to have been answered. It is strange how characters up front and center whom I dismissed have come back to play.

I never guessed all the final outcomes, who would have thought we would come this far from A Harmless LIttle Game. I loved the way the author completed this story, we are given happiness and contentment and above all else peace and silence for Jane & Lindsay.

The final book in the Shameless trilogy played out pretty much as I expected, having already determined the villain’s identity in the previous book. There was so much going on plot-wise, involving several characters, that I found it hard to keep track at times. This was also hampered by a few plot holes and some inconsistencies from the previous books, and, in some cases from previous series. I was also left with some unanswered questions, which had been given some importance in the earlier books. Things in general wrapped up pretty conveniently all around. It might have been interesting had Harry’s election result been different.

While it was nice to finally get Silas’ point of view, there was still a lot of internal dialogue and some dream sequences from Jane that I skimmed through. Overall, there was some suspense, along with plenty of drama & angst and several steamy scenes.

This is the third, and final, book in the Shameless series. They do need to be read in order. It links characters with the Coming Home series and the Harmless series. It can be read as a standalone trilogy, but I would recommend reading the Harmless series first. Both previous series might have some spoilers revealed in this book

This wraps up Silas and Jane's story with the results of the cliffhanger in book 2 being the starting point of this book. This book will keep you wondering who did what to whom until the final couple chapters. Jane gains some more independence in this book and stretches those muscles a bit. Silas realizes his true feelings and spends a lot of time trying to make up for some past poor choices. We see more from both couples of the previous series and Jane's new friend Lily, the florist. Great wrap up to an exceptional suspense romance.
