They come from different worlds--but which one will work for both of them?

Daisy Parker--and for the love of peanut butter, it's PARKER, not Daisy-- is on the fast track to becoming a big Hollywood director, and she has the ulcers to prove it.

Guy Fox is a jack-of-all-trades. He's known for his shy nature, abundant acts of kindness, and conspicuous lack of a love life. Everyone loves him and thinks he's some kind of genius, so what's the big secret that's holding him back?

When Parker is forced to take an all-expenses-paid vacation, the last thing she wants is to become entangled romantically with a man who has no ambition. But each time her getaway goes wrong, she discovers another reason to wonder if she's finally found Mr. Right.

Parker, the director of the reality show in the first book Who Needs Reality, is on a forced vacation to Orcas Island in the Pacific Northwest. She meets Guy, a year-round resident, and the two are attracted to each other despite knowing this is a short-term friendship. Plus, everything seems to go wrong whether it's Parker locking the keys in her car or stepping in dog poo.
This is a sweet romance. Both Parker and Guy must overcome some ingrained modes of behavior and insecurities to find their HEA. There are some very funny moments and some poignant scenes that make the reader really feel for the couple. Parker was so tough in the first book, and here we see some vulnerabilities. Guy is just a sweetheart.
This is a nice clean romance that readers will enjoy.

Fun Romantic Adventure

I couldn’t put it down. Although I feared I wouldn’t be able to relate to these characters (Hollywood producer and island handyman), I found I could relate to their emotional struggles and identify with their life decisions. A sweet romantic story that happened a little too fast to be real but still had me turning pages and routing for the happy ending.
It definitely made me want to visit the San Jan Islands.

I didn't realize how much I really wanted Parker to get her happily ever after until I read this. Much laughter, once again, and a touching story at the same time.

Getaway Gone Wrong

A very hilarious story dealing with real life issues and how some people deal with them, such as a fear of crowds that the hero had. Well worth the time to read!

If I sum up my impressions for the 6 books in this series, I gave it 2.5 stars average.
The good thing is that the stories are totally different between each other - so there is something for everyone. The bad thing is that not every story was my cup of tea. Every book has a 2 POV narrative, following the main characters. Some books have mild Christian elements. So...
1. Who Needs Reality? - DNF. I couldn't get through the beginning where each of the main characters "had the hots" for the other (it all sounded too sexual to me), but was afraid to say anything so as not to ruin their friendship. So dnf that one - which sadly set the scene for the whole series. Anyway...
2. Getaway Gone Wrong - 3 stars. Parker was annoying and I couldn't get into Guy. Their relationship was hard to understand and seemed improbable to me. So this was only mildly entertaining.
3. Amaya's Dance - 4 stars. I liked how they started off on the wrong foot, but then built a relationship. Amaya was mildly annoying - I mean she seemed somehow insensitive to Frank's circumstances. But he was cute and endearing to me. So I overall liked their story.
4. A Bid for Love - again DNF. Crawford was awful at the beginning. I guess he turns out OK at the end, but boy! so much sexual innuendo. I couldn't take it.
5. Crazy Little Crush - 4 stars. Barth was kind of obnoxious at the beginning but happily quickly stopped the flirting. Chieko was... not so understandable to me as a character. She claimed to be very emotional, but I didn't see it in her actions. Anyway they both were a great team and their softly unfolding love story was nice... so to say.
6. Love from A to Z - 5 stars. This was my favourite one of the bunch. I don't know if it was because of the adorable family touch - he kids were soo cute. But Antonio and Zaira were great together. I loved their romance, their insecurities, their Latin culture, their goodness and pure decency. So yeah... best of the series.
