This story pin points the life's journey of three kids Javier Amanza, Maricio and Mari Belle Dominguez from the age of 9 into the time span of twenty years...as we witness the rise and fall, betrayals, love and lies while dwelling on survival inside the Mexican cartel...

This started good, i was immersed in it completely without realizing that i have reached 50% of the book in almost a blink of an eye....it was that intriguing

But then...it went on fast forward...five years....then twelve years....and in this time span and just a few pages away, so many things happened and yet nothing 'really' new happened....

It's a game of hide and seek, search and find...but then it ends somewhat abruptly leaving me with stunned face and a question mark above my head...

Whaaaat?! That s it?!

Well, thank fuck there's book two...

Cartel Bitch was the first book in the Almanza Crime Family duet by Chelsea Camaron. We met Javi Almanza previously in the Devil’s Due MC series, book four, Day of Reckoning.

Camaron told the story in parts. Part one started with a quick chapter on the present then it quickly switched to the past. Camaron then started from the beginning when Javi Almanza and Mari Belle Dominguez were children and they were practically raised to together along with Mari Belle’s brother. As I read the story, my heart broke. It was an interesting twist as the story progressed. To conclude the book, Camaron then brought us back to the present and ended with a cliff hanger.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book. I was captivated from beginning to end. It was well written and well developed with lovable characters. Additionally, I had already read the Devil’s Due so I enjoyed Javi’s version of the quick recap. It wasn’t necessary to have read that series first, but I enjoyed it more having the deeper perspective.

I’m never a fan of duets and trilogies, preferring to read a book all at once but thankfully, Cartel Queen is currently available and I can’t wait to dive in!

This was the first book in a new series too me.
Javier "Javi" Almanza and Mari Belle Dominguez were were practically raised to together along with Mari Belle’s brother. Javier Almanza grew up to be a Cartel kingpin and he always get what he wants and he wants Mari. This was a pretty good read and my first time reading this author. Javi is hot sexy and ruthless. These two are made for each other but her brother has other ideas and he is about to find out the Javi will go through to get what he wants. This was a good read with no errors in grammar or spelling. This book left off on a cliffhanger and I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

It's official...I'm in a book slump!! I really struggled getting through this book. The story of Javier (Cartel Boss) and Mari Belle (childhood love interest of Javier). Javier is best friends with Mari Belle's brother, Maricio. Both families were very close and poor. As teenagers, Javier and Maricio both took to the streets and worked for the cartel to provide food and shelter for their family. During this time, Javier and Mari Belle fall in love with each other. Javier and Mari Belle become separated and attempt to find their way back to each other. However, this is the opening scene in the book.

I will more than likely NOT read book #2, as I was not very engaged in the story.

Why Not 5 Stars?
Separation - I tend not to enjoy stories where the hero and heroine are separated for long periods of time. I quickly became disengaged and tried to skip to where they united. Sorry, this is not a winning book strategy for me.

Character development - Since they were not together for very long, I was not invested in Javier and Mari Belle's love.

The story - This book had so many bad guys and betrayals, I could not keep up. The whole , which was a main part of the drama, felt unrealistic. I mean it was just glossed over. How do you survive that many years? I was not buying it. Don't get me started on the end drama. It was just wrong. I may have considered reading the next book until that happened and I was just over it.

I'm sure some will enjoy this book, but it was not for me. I'm still searching for my next good read...

I was hyped to read Cartel Bitch after reading Hellions Ride On in the Windy In The City Anthology. I wanted to see what would happen from that tidbit, to say I'm happy after reading it would be an understatement. This book had drama, it had passion, blossoming romance, violence, betrayal and angst. I devoured it in one sitting because it had me captivated wanting to see what would happen next! I loved that it was set in both the past and the present with duel point of views from both main characters plus the one chapter of the daughter. I cannot wait to read the next book in this duet to see how this ends.

Dear God where am I going to get myself into?
I know this author from previous works and I was stunned by them and now I have a new book ready to be devour and I can't get even more excited...
Even if I didn't knew this author I would give this book a chance because just the tittle was my undoing. And to top it all the blurb was engaging, hot, intense... And that cover..... Oh boy that cover...
Chelsea Camaron is the bomb with books and her writting is something else. It's intense, it's intriguing, sexy and wild and once you started it you can't put it down. I was amazed by her MC books and when I found out that she was writing a mafia series I was ecstatic.
Cartel Bitch is her latest release and tells the stories of Javier and Mari. This book is the first one of a duet. Oh boy...
Javier is a cartel boss. He's a total badass, he's the one who could haunt your dreams, the one you should be afraid of. He's untouchable, but he as a soft spot...
Marni just wanted to get away from her life in Mexico but sometimes what we wish for can become what we don't want.
Javier and Mari have known each other since they were kids. They had a love for each other so real and so sweet that time couldn't erase until the day she was kidnapped.
And I'm done talking. I can't say another word because I refuse to spoil. I won't do it so you better start reading it .
The thing that made me fall in love with the story was the fact that we have not only the past but also the present and that for me is a must. I wanted to know what happened that lead to this moment.
The plot is superb, very well written, super engaging and dark. The interation between the characters is intense and raw and you can see their growth.
The story progressed in a way that I couldn't put it down. I was so engaged into the story that I wanted to slap anyone if they had the audacity to interrupt me.
I was scared, enraged, in love or insane... All the emotions were swirl inside my head. Dayum I almost couldn't take it.
This book is a very dark one, so you need to be very careful and read the blurb. If you know you can handle it then go for it.
There were parts of the book that I wanted to get into it and kill someone... Dayum...
This book presented us with crime, punishment, betrayal, deceive as well as love, friendship and so much more.
Oh boy Chelsea.... You rock woman. This book is freaking amazing and I can't wait for Cartel Queen to arrive. Please let the wait be small... Please...
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Brutal soap opera...

The Cartel world portrayed here is sickening and violent and the majority of those within it have lost their humanity....Javier and Mari Belle are not born into the cartel but are drawn into it as products of the dysfunctional and brutal world that they grow up in...

This is a literary soap opera with friends and lovers who become enemies and where familial bonds are tested and broken; secrets and lies, death and destruction are all found within these pages...the story is told from the perspectives of Javier and Mari Belle and this makes the events all the more poignant as the reader is provided with a window into their innermost feelings and thoughts...Javier, like the majority of individuals in this book, is bad with a non existent moral compass but he is also loyal and protective and for those attributes, in my book world, he is worthy of some acceptance ... the truth is that love does not choose or judge..

The plot covers an extended period of time as the central key players move from a childhood in the slums to a world of wealth fabricated on drugs and the exploitation of women..the time lapse did leave me frustrated as it journeyed swiftly through a number of years.. It is a measure of how much I enjoyed this story that I wished there had been more details of the missing years rather than brief recollections provided by the key main players...

Amongst the harsh reality there are some lighter/sweeter moments..I loved the relationship between Javier and Mari Belle before outside forces take their toll..the cliffhanger conclusion was shocking and left me desperate to read more and yet wary of embarking on the next chapter in the screwed up lives of these people.....This book was reviewed for Summer's Eve Reads...

Holy Moses, Chelsea Camaron is trying to kill me. I love everything she writes and she's made me fight back tears in many of her books but here, she just ripped those tears out with razor sharp claws. Like a lion at the throat of a (poor) gazelle, this book takes, just like the boys in it were forced to take. You may make judgments about the life they live but you'll feel every hot day in the desert trying to survive first.

This book is richly layered, with a host of terribly complex emotions, too heavy for it's young characters to be forced to carry, but that's the life we choose to forget exists for many. Ms.Camaron carefully details a life without options for her characters, a life filled with despair and decisions far beyond boys of such tender age. She has a way of making me feel what's going on. I was on the edge in chapter two, bawling by chapter three, incensed later on. I read the book within a few hours, I was so engrossed. I know I'm supposed to hate Javi but my heart is just broken for all that's been stolen from he and his Mari. "His sky" once so full of promise fell into the hands of the devil and instead of it's normal blue, now bleeds red. (You'll understand that once you read it!)

This is one of the few books of hers that leaves us with a cliffhanger, and what a cliffy it was. Devastated as I finished the book last night, I anxiously await it's conclusion in April 2018. One thing I know for sure, Chelsea Camaron gives good Anti-hero! She isn't content with mild emotions from her readers, she demands next level emotions and I was powerless against it.

Chelsea Camaron is one heck of a writer, she managed to bring me right round from hatred to understanding and turning bad to good

This book was an unbelievably passion driven, revenge filled crime of the heart.

Javier aka Javi has stolen my heart and it now sits on a shelf waiting for the continuation of he and Mari's story.

I'm wrecked and devastated beyond belief!

Mari's strength comes from her familia throughout this entire book. She does what she does for the love of her family. Her sacrifices are great, but her love is strong, deep and never ending although at times misguided.

Behind every broken person, there lies a reason, a purpose, an explanation to whom they are and what has brought them to this place and time in their lives. The only question is, will you allow yourself to see them, to truly understand their life, their back story, their path that has lead them to the here and now? Or will you judge, make assumptions, or even condemn them?

I have to be honest and say I forgot about this book so SHAME ON ME, what a travesty that would have been, I need to take more care with my one click finger. Absolutely brilliant read, I am now waiting patiently for book 2 to come all ready ordered

My first experience with a book by this author is this first book in the Almanza Crime Family Duet. We are warned at the beginning that this is a dark read and not a sweet romance, which is very true!

Javier Almanza, Cartel boss, has always been infatuated, or obsessed, with Mari Belle Dominguez, who is confident she will move on and be free of her life in Mexico. After Mari's brother, Maricio, forces her to leave Mexico she is anything but free!

The story is told in two parts, the past and the present and by both lead characters sharing insight into why they do things and how they feel. Vivid descriptions give us clear images as the story unfolds. Her description of each character is just as clear. Maricio, with such a lovely name you'd think 'good guy' but life throws some curve balls.

Although the genre might be dark romance, it is still a romance with flaming hot passion too. It is also a fast-paced, easy read making you want the second book now! (which I do!😉)

Wow! This book drew me in from the very beginning and OMG has left me wanting more. This crime family is a very brutal and cut throat kind of family. The lies and deception with this family have no boundaries. They will kill anyone that gets in their way.

Javi and Mari's story has so many layers that are peeled away to allow you to see where they come from and how they get to where they are now. Their story is nothing like I expected and I'm left hanging in the balance to see what will happen with these two next. Where is this journey going to take me? Mari has made it very clear that she is nobody's Cartel Bitch!

I can't wait to get my hands on Cartel Queen.

Happy Reading Everyone!!

I’m such a fan of Chelsea Camaron and was stoked to learn this cartel duet was coming. Cartel Bitch did not disappoint. As the first half of this duet, it set the tone for the characters, the time frame as well as the heartache and backstory for the major players.

I’m anxiously awaiting the conclusion to Javi and Mari’s story.

This is the first book in a new duet from this extremely talented author. Javier had always been obsessed with Mari Belle, but he was her brothers’ best friend, and they all grew up together. When Mari Belle is forced to leave Mexico by her brother, things take a turn for all of them. Javier is now a kingpin within the Cartel, and Mari Belle is back on his radar. No spoilers; this is a must read, you will not be disappointed! This author has done an amazing job in writing this story, and I for one did not want to stop reading, and I cannot wait to read the next past of this brilliant duet.

This story is beautifully tragic. Cartel Bitch is nothing of what I thought it would be, it was so much better.

Javier and Mari grow up on the wrong side of Mexico. This is where murder and mayhem live and if you want to survive you live for the cartel. So that is what Javier does. Starting at a very young age, Javier starts working for them. But even then he has a code of honor. He knows right from wrong, and that makes him different.

Mari wants out of this life. She sees what it is doing to everyone around her, but she has no choice. She is in love with Javier and will do what needs to be done. Javier is doing everything he can to make HER life better. And America is that answer for them.
But things are about to happen that is out of their control.

I loved how Chelsea starts at the now and brings us back to their childhood. Walking us through the past 20 years of the pain of these people and what happened. Now we are going to find out what a Cartel Queen can do.

As I am sitting here trying to type this review for Cartel B!tch by Chelsea Camaron I am struggling to find the words about how I felt while reading it. I am also going to keep it as spoiler free as always. There is a note in the beginning from the author stating this is not like her normal books, and it’s not, and while I love that she has sort of stepped out of her normal comfort zone by writing a book about a cartel, I don’t know if she truly succeeded or not. Maybe in the next book I will be able to say with a certainty that I am currently unable to do.

It took me a hard and long time to get into the book. It spans a period of years so while we are learning about Mari Belle and Javi’s past we don’t get much in terms of current time until close to the end of the book. This is a duet and it does end in a cliffhanger and that didn’t bother me, I just didn’t feel connected with the characters and I really tried to. Something was missing, something that would have moved it past just an okay read for me.

While I am a fan of Chelsea Camaron and her other books I am not sure if I loved or hated Cartel B!tch. I am hoping than when I read Cartel Queen that unknown missing something is found and the potential I saw in this duet lives to become true.

Mari Belle Dominguez and Javier Almanza grew up together in Juarez, Mexico. He was her brother's best friend, her protector, her friend. And when Mari Belle turned eighteen, they became lovers. But the streets Juarez and the Silvia Cartel power tear them apart.
Years later and after years of trying to find Mari Belle, Javier finally finds her. But he isn't the same man he was when she last saw him. And not only there are a lot of secrets and lies standing in their way. Danger is just around the corner.

Cartel Bitch is an intense, raw, and dark book. Mari Belle and Javier's story hooked me from the first page and I couldn't stop reading. There's lot of drama, action, mystery, twists, and sexy scenes, but also very sweet moments. This book took me in a phenomenal journey and I loved every second of it.
I really loved how the book is structured: the different POVs; the two parts, past and present; and the cliffhanger. I can't wait to read Cartel Queen and what happens next!

Mari Belle Dominguez is a fighter and a survivor, fierce and strong, with a sweet and kind heart. She's been through a lot and lost a lot. But she knows she has to keep fighting to stay alive. She'll do everything for the ones she loves but she's really confused: who's telling the truth? Her brother or the love of her life?
Javier Almanza is the powerful boss of the Almanza Cartel. But despite he's all his power, money and ruthlessness, he has a honor code and a good heart. He always loved Mari Belle and Maricio was the brother he never had. He believes they betrayed him, but he still wants Mari Belle and will do anything to keep her safe. I loved how sweet he always was with his mother.

Chelsea Camaron hit the jackpot with Cartel Bitch! Her writing style makes it very easy to dive into Mari Belle and Javier's story and hooks the reader from the first page. The story is incredible and the characters are amazing. I can't wait to read what happens next!

I received a copy of this book for an honest review.
I have been devouring mafia series lately and when I saw Chelsea was releasing one I was all over it. How could I go wrong I mean it is Chelsea after all! Chelsea did not disappoint me. The twist she tossed in I didn’t see some of them coming. My emotions were all over my heart went out to some and I have to say I wanted to watch others be tortured to no end. I have to say from start to end Mari is my new girl crush.
Javi and Maricio grew up in the slums of Mexico. They would do anything for their family both living identical lives; single mom taking care of her son and daughter were each mother thinks of the other kids as their own. Making Javi and Maricio brothers by choice.
What happens when deceit, betrayal and need for power comes between brothers? One takes everything from the other and one vows vengeance. So many lives change some by choice others by force.
Mari loves her family and extended family. Can she stay away from her brother and Javi Choices? Mari now lives with a broken heart and choices being made for her. How does one know the truth from a lie when the ones you love and were to protect you lie deceive and use you to gain power and leverage against others.
Javi had me from the start he is determined to take care of the women in his life and to never let women get in harms way. I also loved seeing the Devil Due and getting another view of the encounter. I have to say my heart went out to Mari she has been through so much but she is strong and will have her say soon. Mari may have thought she was queen of the damned, mother to heartbreak, a warrior of loneliness but she is so much more and hell hath no fury than a woman on a mission. I for one cannot wait for Cartel Queen because Shit just got real.

Cartel Bitch by Chelsea Camaron
I received this book from the author for an honest review.
Sweet Baby Jesus!! Javi, is so bad but also so good. He lives by a moral code or compass in this evil world which is his downfall or is it?
Mari has been tricked by her family and is broken but her love of her enemy is over powering through all the years of the book.
This couple….the book…..this story line. Oh man I seriously don’t know where in the heck to start. I mean the young, sweet, innocent love that Mari and Javi have is soooo pure in an evil world. When he is forced to marry her, will wont disrespect her that way. He wants her to freely choose him like he as done with her in his heart all those years ago. What kinda bad guy does that?? Bad guys take what they want much like her brother and Paco, their associate.
When Mari’s brother is involved in a coup to take over the leadership, she is forced to look at Javi through dirty lenses thanks to her brother. The heart ache I felt for her and Javi because they were both pawns in the drug cartel. Javi is destroyed when his heart is gone, and he hardens because no one will ever have this effect on him every again.
Seeing the years they two are apart and their struggles to handle life was hard but when everything is spilled and the secrets are revealed by her bother to Javi and Mari….OMG I seriously was broken. I hurt for HER. I mean I felt back for Javi but damn Mari is PISSED OFF!! I mean this woman is bad ass and she is going to kick some serious cartel ass. I feel for ANY MAN or WOMAN who TRIES to stop her. I cannot wait for Cartel Queen to drop!!!

From the first page you are drawn into a fast paced action story with deceit, love, and power hungry men. I seriously couldn't put this book down for a single second. I was sucked into Javier's life and the life of the Cartel. Javier wants more for his family and for the one he loves Mari Belle. Javier is betrayed by his brother, Maricio, and loses Mari Belle when she's kidnapped. For years. Javier never gives up on looking for her, he finds her and also a shocking surprise. Javier is loyal, sexy, and powerful. From a young age everyone noticed it will be him to takeover one day. Mari Belle is loyal, strong, and so freaking fierce it's not funny. She suffers so much at Maricio's hand but doesn't let it break her. She stands tall no matter what.

I'm impatiently waiting for Cartel Queen. Cartel Bitch was everything I thought it would be and more. I loved every part of it. I have so many questions, so many fears, I need the next one today! Javier is absolutely perfect in his role as boss, and I have a feeling Mari Belle will be absolutely perfect in her role as a Queen.

The storyline and writing will make the world disappear around you. The shit each character goes through will leave you heartbroken and bloodthirsty. To see how one man can cause such an uproar to so many people. You'll want him dead, I know I do. I'm fully invested in Javier and Mari Belle's life and can't imagine where this will go next. I have a feeling we will see exactly what Mari Belle is made from in the next one and I'm excited to see her transformation!

Anti-hero conjured up images and thoughts of someone who is bad to the bone and does nothing that is helpful to anyone. They will kill anyone and everyone because they can and they feel nothing for anyone. No one is safe from their rages and retributions. And some of that is very true … but also very wrong.

Javi … I was prepared to HATE this man. My introduction to him has shown someone selfish and uncaring, only interested in what he can get from others. And again, partly true. But there is so much more to him than originally shown. He is like an onion that needs to be peeled. The more your peel, the more layers you see. There are layers and layers to Javi. He is not what I thought he was, and that very much surprised me and intrigued me as I read this book.

And Mari Belle … WOW! I knew there was more to the story. And what she went through for her child’s sake was astounding. Her strength is buried deep thanks to her circumstances, but it is still there. She has been fed lies and deceit from those that she trusted. Her true happiness in this world is her daughter, and now Javi is in the picture. But betrayal continues to be thrown her way and she will destroy everything for vengeance in the end.

To me this story was about Javi. Where he came from, what made him tick, what created the man that he is. I am fascinated by his story. There is so much depth to him and no one really sees it because he keeps it hidden. I am hooked in wanting to know more of what happens. Nothing is ever as it fully seems, and Chelsea Camaron is becoming the queen of twisting my perceptions around with her characters.

HOLY MOTHER OF DARK & ADDICTIVE READS! This story...the brilliant Chelsea Camaron really wrote outside of her norm with this one, and IT WAS AMAZING! Being a HUGE fan of Ms. Camaron, I had already met Javier Almanza, the Cartel kingpin in a previous book, and I didn't like him so much, but this is his history of how he got to the top through loss & betrayal. And, of course, his Mari Belle Dominguez, who suffered through loss & betrayal of her own, and by the ending is about to go full on crazy on everyone's a**es! So that's all that I'm going to give away, because OMG! WHAT A RIDE IT WAS, and no spoiler douchery allowed here! I cannot believe how my mind was changed about Javi through this intense story, but I credit that to the brilliance from this author. He was made into the man he was through a series of events that spanned over decades, and now I'm down with him. And I loved Mari Belle, but she was naive throughout, as she should have been at her age, but these two have quite the showdown coming in the next book, as her blinders are off, and God help them all as she rises to Cartel Queen! Yeah, this story had the f-bombs dropping from the chaos of the twists that came from every direction, and that cliffy ending? Yeah, I'm going to shut this review down before I give anything away since I'm all jacked up! (And all I want to do is call one of my favorite authors colorful metaphors!) HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

This is the first book in this duet and its a brilliant introduction into the Cartel world of Javier Almanza and his rise to power. Chelsea Camaron has brought us a brilliant dark, twisted, violent look into the gritty Cartel world.

We got a glimpse of these characters Javier and Mari Belle in the Novella Wild in the Windy City Anthology - Hellions Ride and now we get to see some of what has happened to get them to the point that the Hellions MC are delivering a young girl across country to Javier in Chicago.

After reading Hellion's Ride i was not prepared to like Javier but in true Chelsea Fashion she has made me fall in love with him, the man you shouldn't like.

Mari has loved Javier since she was a teenager and lost her mother. He's her brother's best friend. She has shown such strength considering the life she has lead growing up. The sacrifices she has made is heartbreaking. She is an amazing woman.

I cannot wait for the next book Cartel Queen to see the continuation of Javi and Mari's story.

5 Stars!

Y'all! Wow! What a journey that I'm almost speechless.

Chelsea Camaron is always a go to author for me when it comes to my limited mc author list and since I love her words so much, it was a no brainer to follow her newest series... a duet in fact that is going to rock your freaking world. Javier and Mari are more real and so very different from her usual characters but in only the best ways.

He's irresistible. She's unforgettable. Their love is undeniable. But nothing is fair... in love and war.

Sexy. Intense. Twisted. Suspenseful. Turns you'll never see coming and secrets, lies that are explosive in nature, Camaron exceeded every expectation I had for her newest wiring venture and left me begging for just a little more with that explosive ending. Cartel Bitch is the first book in the Almanza duet and completely packed with loads of undeniable heart, heat, emotions, desires, and danger.

I cannot fucking wait for Cartel Queen. It's gonna be epic. Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!

I highly recommend this book.

I LOVE the fact that this is a crossover book with the Devil's Own MC series! Yes! We get a true feel about who Javier Almanza, Javi, is and where he comes from. We also get a really good look at Mari Belle Luisa Dominguez. We really get to know her brother Maricio. What was their childhood like? What did the boys do to earn money to help with the upkeep for the family? When Maricio runs and takes Mari Belle with him, what happens? What do we learn? What does it turn Javier into? Man alive, this book is a riot to read. I loved every minute of it. I cannot wait to read the next book! If you have read the Devil's Own MC books, you will recognize where it picks up and crosses over. It was great getting the backstory on Michelle and getting to know Rowdy a bit more.
