What if a touch of painting could transport you years back in time? What if a handsome man follows you to help you return to your own time?
2017
Destiny has always had a passion for art and loves her job at an art gallery in Denver. She had once wanted to be an artist herself, but discovered she found more joy in helping other people find the truly talented artists' creations. Her life is simple but satisfying.
2045
Graham is a member of an elite secret agency called Time Travel Guardians. His job is to travel to different time periods and collects time travel devices to bring them to his own time, and store them in a safe government facility. The next device he was assigned to collect is a Clara Moore painting that has been found in an art gallery in Denver.
After literally running into each other, Destiny and Graham begin a great adventure together- to 1879. Once they make it back to 2017, Destiny can't explain the desperate need to stay with Graham when he returns to his own time. Graham is concerned about the new information Destiny will learn about what will be her future. If she learns too much, it could change history.
Come travel through time with Destiny and Graham in this brand new series of time travel, mystery, and intrigue, along with a good old-fashioned love story.
I love time travel novels, and this one has a fun premise. Although it had great potential, it fell a little flat for me. There was way too much exposition up front and the writing seemed to hold the reader at a distance. The writing was often stilted and didn't let you experience events along with the characters. There were several plot points that weren't really fleshed out. Overall...disappointing.
This book was amazing. It really captured my interest. Most books with time travel go one direction, this one took us back in time and forward in time. There was actually 3 eras portrayed in this one. I especially liked the character Clara. She gained my heart and I felt like I was right there with her, looking into both past and future. The love story was different feeling than most love stories. You really felt like it was actually happening. Not like some books where you feel like it is not real events. You feel like this really could happen,as it unfolds carefully and guarded. It feels like it happened so fast but slow at the same time. I really enjoyed this book and would love to know what happens with all the characters -Clara and Jack-Destiny and Graham-Aurora-and even Trysten. I am certainly pressing on to the next book by this wonderful author.
This time travel story comes from a new direction. It*a time travel in 2045 where Guardians are sent to different times to retrieve objects or portals and bring them back to a warehouse to be logged in and orotected. Graham is a guardian who accidentally runs into Destiny, a woman who works at an art gallery where Graham is picking up an object that time travel. The story moves quickly back in time and goes from here to 2045. A delightful read. Zoe Matthews definitely doesn't disappoint.
I like the idea of the story of this plot but it is poorly written. Unnecessary details. A few clichés that made it twee. I didn't enjoy it at all. Had it on almost 2x the speed most the time and it didn't make me feel involved. It felt a bit 'thin' and boring. A lot of the plot is given away in the synopsis and this is again explained in the book.
Read this book in one day. I am a stickler for keeping facts straight through out the book, this story had some mistakes. Wrong names, forgetting that some things were stated already. But over all it was interesting enough. I would read another story by this author.
Once upon a time, and they lived happiest after. Successful outline for a romance. Unfortunately the plot development is cheezy. The earlier time has unresolved complications, unanswered questions.
I enjoyed this book immensely, not only because it compassionately portrays the difficulty of being an empath in our time but it also hints at the occurrence of the increasing number of children being born with “gifts”. It is an uplifting and compassionate story that seems to reflect a perception of what I like to call someone who is “Awake” to the Spirit. The writing flows with the seamless Unity of an emotionally fulfilling symphony. I would recommend it to anyone who has an open mind and a searching heart. Enjoy 💜
Pretty good and quick time travel read. I liked all the characters and the main plot of the story. Most time travel I read just entails traveling to the past. This one also have time travel to the future which worked really well and I enjoyed it more than I was expecting. There is definitely more story to be told and I am looking forward to the next book!
Enjoyable and easy book to read. It was easy to follow the storyline. The futurist time period was interesting and actually believable, which surprised me.
his is one of the best time travel books I've read I enjoyed the various time .periods and visiting Clara's time. I'm anxiously awaiting .the next book in this series. Zoe certainly did it again. I received an ARC and this is my honest review
I am a huge fan of time travel, and Zoe Matthews never disapoints. I love the concept of this story and look forward to more adventures with the Travel Guardians! Starting book 2 and I am sure I will enjoy it just as much. Well done Ms. Matthews!
Good story! Very interesting. Going from time to time. I kept trying to figure out which time this one would end up in. Different from her other time travel series and yet there was one connection and some familiarities. I enjoyed it very much.
I enjoyed this time travel story. Appreciate stories where they do good with their knowledge and abilities. I expected Destiny to have a larger part to play in the grander scheme of things given her thoughts on things. Still, was a good read. An interesting series.
Good book by Zoe Matthews, enjoy the story very much, good plot, good characters. Most the books I read are based on historical romance time travel. Glad I decided to read this one, give it a try, you'll like it.
I like the setup of the time travelling but there were a few things that pulled me out of the story. Suspect it would have been better reading than listening to as it may have been the narration.
An interesting, easy read but the characters were shallow personalities. They just did not seem real and it was difficult to get emotionally attached to them. However, the story was good with a twist in the time travel plot (even if the romance felt superficial).
