I ONLY READ THE FIRST.

The Better Brother, was hot as hell. Yeah he was definitely was. Michael... yeah baby. I wondered how a story like this could work out. How can't you not know the brother of the man you've been with for 2yrs? Simple, I think the story was wonderful and different. The stories that followed, I scanned... no interest at all.

Rye Hart did it again. This book is beautifully written. Julie is a woman that is starting over. New city, home, job, everything. So while sitting at a cafe she meets Michael.
Michael is a well-established business man in Ennis, TX where Julie just moved to. These two hit it off so well that their friendship turns into a relationship quickly. So when Michael asks Julie to meet his brother she thinks nothing of it. Little does she know that it just might be the end of their new relationship.

This is a great story. I laughed, cried, and rooted for these two. I voluntarily read an advance reader copy for my honest review.

Worst book

The characters were annoying and weak; Michael was overly emotional and easily distracted whilst Julie lacked confidence and depth. The author didn't take me on a journey, the writing was so choppy that i didn't buy in to their emotions.
I couldn't finish the book it was that painful.

Let me start by saying first this book is not 410 Pages it is actually a short story approximately 91 Pages. Secondly, I don't feel that the story was worth my .99 cents. Thirdly, I cannot find the original link on Amazon for anyone to purchase it anyway so I am not even going to put this on my blog.

Julie is leaving town and starting a new life in Ennis Texas. After her now ex boyfriend Josh dumped her to "focus" on his residency she is devastated. She needs to start new. Julie meets Michael and they instantly like each other. Michael is a good distraction from how Josh made her feel.

They become attached to each other pretty quickly and soon are in deep with feelings.

**Spoiler Alert**
Seriously Julie's character helps track down Josh's brother who was given up for adoption but never knows his name. Even when Josh talks to him weekly. Then she finds out Michael is adopted and his brother is doing his residency. That is not a coincidence. If this is supposed to be more reality based then Julie is a complete dumbass. And Michael knows that it will be figured out as soon as he sets up the meet with Julie and his brother.

I found the relationship with Julie and Michael sweet and steamy. But the unrealistic parts of this story have me only giving this SHORT STORY 1 star.

Twists, lies, angst, drama, heartbreak, hot chemistry, steamy scenes, lots of emotions, an awesome storyline, characters that you start to believe are real, and discovering all the secrets will suck you in and keep you enthralled until the very end. The Better Brother is one read that doesn't disappoint.

I volunteered to review an advance reader copy of this book.

Ugh, it started out so good. I'm so disappointed by the outside of the relationship sex. So so disappointed since this book was starting out so good and since I adore this author. I can't read books with that garbage in them. I just read a very detailed sex scene between the main dude and a random girl. How am I supposed to move past that and read about him with the main girl? I can't, and so I won't. I really wish books including that had warnings on them so I could avoid them and not waste my time. There are labels saying "guaranteed HEA" and "No Cheating" on books and warnings saying "Trigger Warning" or "Violence" or whatever. I think a "Contains outside of the relationship sex" warning would be great. It's just so disgusting.

dnf @ 10%. You have got to be kidding me. Her medical student boyfriend dumps her after 2 years as he's starting his residency. This is after shes helped him track down his long lost adopted brother. Michael has a brother who's a medical student, just dumped his girlfriend as he starts his residency and is a long lost adopted brother. Yep, nothing. The fact he doesn't know his brothers girlfriends name or ever met her or that she helped track him down but doesnt know his is just ludicrous. I was really enjoying this book till thus point.

Destiny's joke

I like the way Rye played with the characters destiny. The fact that it shows lessons on the values of taking control of ones life, value of blood relation, family and friendship really got to me. Kudos to you Ms Hart!

DNF.... actually really close to the end. EDIT: I actually went back and skimmed to the end because of some 'twist' that the author mentioned. Erm.... no, I had already read past the twist, and didn't feel like it was a twist worthy of the press about it. Ugh.

I can't believe I slogged through as much as I did of this before finally giving up.

The premise isn't clever and original. It was stupid and improbable.

There is no way that someone would help another person track down their long lost sibling and not even get a name. Seriously a name. If my boyfriend refused to even tell me the guy's name (never mind the fact that she actually helped track him down in the paperwork... erm... a name would have come up in the search), I would find that extremely dodgy.
And apparently they only started dating literally as that all went down? (I'm saying that because they dated for 2 years, and he found his lost brother 2 years ago...)

I actually came to hate Julie in the end. She's the reason I DNF'd this book.
Josh was beyond an asshole, he was a gaslighting narcissist.
Michael... you could tell that the author is female, because Michael read waaaaaay too feminine. (I don't know how to word that properly. It wasn't a feminine man, it was that the inner workings of the character was what you would write for a female, not a male. Seriously it could have been Michelle with a strap on and nothing else would have had to change.)

At one point Julie said that this all felt like the plot of a soap opera. Well guess what, it really did feel like it was a bad sub plot out of Dallas.

Also Michael threw a huge Christmas party for all his employees... so big it took place at the Four Seasons. But apparently he's the only one in his company that handles accounts? Because seriously he ignored 2 emails and his company was suddenly on the brink of collapse? That really didn't make any sense at all. You have account managers and employees for a reason. That was absolutely ridiculous.

I quit after the whole scene where Julie wouldn't even speak to him/let him explain when he stood her up because Josh was in a major accident and was in the hospital. Also, fucking idiot should have sent off a test "Josh in serious accident. In hospital, will call you later. Sorry." <- that would have done it.

I don't know if I'll be continuing with this author.... it was really painful to get through as much as I did.

This latest story by Rye Hart is fantastic. It has a gorgeous hero in Michael who meets a feisty young woman, Julie, who has just moved to the small town of Ennis after having broken up with her selfish ex, Josh, whom she supported for two years whilst he was in medical school then just decided that he didn't want the relationship. She's sitting in the coffee shop when Michael comes up and asks if he may join her. They are both very attracted to one another and the conversation flows so easily that they start to date. Michael is a very successful businessman and he invites her to have a family meal with him and to meet his brother [his long lost brother that he only found out about 3 years previously??]. This is one family meal that will never be forgotten as in walks Josh. Talk about awkward! Josh seems that he's upset that she's moved on and is happy with Michael. Lies are told. Secrets are kept. All leading to misunderstandings. Will Michael and Julie's fairly new relationship stand a chance at survival? The dialogue between these two characters is so good and you can almost 'feel' the sparks and heat between them. But is that enough? Should she trust anything that Josh says? I'm not going to tell you as it is quite a problematic conundrum that Rye has given us here. Poor Julie who and what is she to believe? Will she listen to her heart or her head? So wonderfully written that Rye caught my attention at page one and kept me focussed on the book right to the end. At one point I really wasn't sure how everything was going to pan out but it was well worth the lack of sleep I had to finish the story to find out if their was a HEA! I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. Wow! Another great book from Ms Hart. This book was full of drama, angst, some surprises and a lot of hot and steamy chemistry. Julie is a freelance writer who has recently moved to Ennis Texas after her boyfriend of 2 years breaks it off with her stating his career requires too much of his time to even allow him a girlfriend. Julie is not only heartbroken but angry with Josh since she not only sacrificed her time helping him get through his schooling to become a doctor she also put aside her own work and dreams on a book she has been working on since high school after Josh read part of it and insulted what she has done so far. She has even helped Josh find locate the adoption agency his mother used when she gave his brother up. Josh of course never told her who his brother was and she never met him. Julie is enjoying her new life in the small town she has moved to and meets Michael a man who sees her in a cafe one morning and introduces himself. Both are attracted to one another. However, Julie is not ready to date or get involved with someone at this time. Michael is persistent tough. They start going out to dinner and seem to be able to talk about anything. Both have secrets though and when some of them come out will it end what have? Will Julie forgive Michael once the truth comes out? Julie wonders if her secret from the past will change how Michael feels about her. Can they get past it all and get the HEA they want? Great book with a well written storyline!

rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. We meet Michael, businessman in Ennis, who likes women! He met his biological brother, Joshua, 2 years prior as their mother gave him up for adoption. They have a pretty new relationship but its good. We then meet Julie, a journalist and newbie to Ennis. She moved to start a new when her bf of 2 years dumped her bc his residency was too much for him to do plus have a relationship on the side. Julie likes the small town and while in the local java hut, she notices a handsome man. She knows she shouldnt look at any man now but she cant help it. Michael is getting his coffee when he notices a beautiful woman sitting in the cafe and starts up a conversation. They banter back and forth that leads to a dinner date. both are pretty smitten with one another which is unlike Michael as he is a love and leave 'em type of guy. Michaels brother wants to meet his new woman and julie agrees eventho she thinks its too early. while walking into the restaurant, Julie notices her ex and asks michael why he is there. that is when Julie finds out they are brothers and michael is the long lost brother who she helped find him...what are the odds. julie doesnt know what to think about the situation but she cares about michael. Joshua calls julie and asks to meet. he gives her the "i miss you" lines plus tells her micheal has been lying to her. will julie believe him? will michael be able to explain? are they doomed?

Holy guacamoly Rye does it again. I absolutely loved it. What do you do when you gets dumped by her selfish boyfriend of two years ? Really ?
Well, just move to somewhere else, a bit drastic but that is what Julia does !
In a small town called Ennis (Texas) she meets Michael in the neighborhood coffee shop. Michael starts a conversation with Julie, and that kind of chemistry that's explosive, Bam ! They complement one another.

Yeah Yeah .... what happend when things go to well ?

Yep ! Soon Julia is being invited to meet Michael's family, and what a family that was !!! There was lie, backstabbing and hurt in that family. Damned for Julia, Michael was keeping a secret from Julia. One that could destroy what they have together and the new relationship between the brothers Michael and Josh (Julies ex). It's not the typical Brother/Brother story you might think.
Mason tries to go after her he is met with a lot of resistance which he is not used to. They end up getting along very well, but with some interesting twists and turns. Nah Nah Nah, I won't spoil !!!

Just go buy the book to read. Plenty of steamy love scenes to keep you warm at night.
This story is packed with, love, understanding and some heartache. And last but not least, it's well written.

I loved this book. I know, weird for me, because I usually don't like love triangles and much drama. But this book captured my heart from the start. I couldn't put it down.

https://78.media.tumblr.com/91bac6d67...

Michael and Julie captured my intention from the first moment they met. I like how it was easy for them to just be together (and I'm not talking about the fact with their both relation to Josh. I meant the two of them alone without any drama). It wasn't forced, which I loved. And the banter and flirtation, it was just too precious and nice to read. Also the conversation was easy for them, it just flowed. From the start there was just something about them that make me like them. And it was obvious that they always felt more than just "like". Loved how Michael was treating her and dates he took her out to. Company party was my favourite because of their dancing.

What I didn't like was when Julie didn't let him explain. Yes, he hurt her, I'm not denying that. But I'd rather she let him say his piece and then judge if they are going to be together or not.

Epilogue was the best! I love that he wanted to make all of her dreams come true. I wish it was lobger lol.

Anyhow, a great read and I recommend it.

OMG... Rye Hart has done it again, as she delivers another “one-click” wonder! This is a story that’ll keep you turning page after page until you’ve turned every single one! I definitely recommend you get this five-star book. You will not regret it...

After having her heart broken by her ex Joshua, Julie moves from Dallas to the small town of Ennis. She’s sitting alone in the cafe one day, when she’s approached by Michael, who wants to join her. As their cafe date is ending Michael invites Julie to dinner. They’re getting along really well & the chemistry between the two is off the charts. It’s still early in their relationship when Michael tells Julie that his brother wants to meet her.

As Julie enters the restaurant, she sees Michael sitting at a table with her ex, Joshua. She’s curious as to why the two men are together, so when Michael explains that they are brothers. After hearing their remarkable story, will it change they way they feel for each other? Are those feelings strong enough to get them through this rough time? Will Julie & Michael be able to move forward or is there still feeling for Joshua? Be sure to get your own copy of this new release by Rye Hart.

Overall, an enjoyable quick read. Julie moves away from Dallas to get away from the painful memories of her ex and wants to start a new life. A couple of days after settling in, she meets Michael at the local coffee shop and is attracted to him right away. the more time she spends with him, the more she likes. Michael is surprised at how quickly Julie has gotten under his skin and can't seem to stop thinking of her. When he introduces Julie to his long lost brother, things start to unravel quick. Julie is so upset that Michael's brother is her ex that she doesn't want to have anything to do with. When she finds out from her ex that Michael knew who she was the whole time, she is floored and feels betrayed. She kicks Michael to the curb but after a lot of groveling, she lets him back in. After tragedy befalls his brother, Michael almost ends up losing Julie for good. The one thing I didn't like was how Julie became when she and Michael were apart. She turns to alcohol and even remarks that she hardly ever got drunk when she did it a couple of different times. Seems like she had short term memory loss due to how much she drank. The ending was satisfactory even though I was hoping it would have been a little bit longer

Michael Smart, works in a oil and rigs firm at Ennis, he was an adopted son in a family and in a course of making up his relationship with his long last elder brother, Joshua. Julie Black has a dream to become a journalist is now doing as a freelancer, goes to settle in Ennis after her boyfriend dumped her. When Michael return back to work at Texas, he meets Julie in a Cafe and gets acquainted to her. Their acquiantance grows to a date and then heating up bed. I voluntarily reviewing an ARC of this book I received. Both Micheal and Julie are excited about their budding relationship like teenagers, also they realise it is all not just sex but more than that. The closer they come to know about one another they start falling deeper into the relationship. They both share alot but never named who her ex or his elder brother. This is a really a lovely piece with full of emotions, the twist and turns are delivered perfectly. The emotional nagging both the lead got through when they find Joshua is the Michael's brother, also Julie's ex. And the truth that makes everything worse. I could recommend this book, read to feel it, this book has hot explicit scene.

Great story

Great story sweet and steamy. Julie and Michael are so perfect together. Josh her ex and Michael's brother, is a arrogant A$$ hole. Andrea is a true besty to Julie. Julie's older sister Bethany, is awesome. Happy Josh redeemed himself. The epilogue, was perfect ending to their story.

A bit of a spoiler that kept me from giving 5 stars.
The whole I know who you were when I met you thing, after the restaurant blind side, just wasn't believable. There is no way he would have deliberately done that to her. I would have bought, you or your name seemed familiar when we met but until that dinner I didn't know why. Or Yes I had known your name and did look you up, but that was a few years ago, it just didn't click until that movement. There were other scenarios that would have given the same effect without having him pull such an unforgivable dick move.

A voluntarily reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. Despite the restaurant dick move, I really loved the story, so I bought it and re-read it before my review. Rye, generously included several of her other books as a bonus.

This is one in a million chance love story about Julie and Michael that has lots of drama, hot chemistry and a twist you would not expect. Julie has just had a two year long relationship end and to deal with it she moves out of Dallas to Ennis, a small town. Julie is a freelance writer and can work remotely giving her the freedom to move on. Josh her ex was a piece of work and only proves it again and again. During her first week in Ennis she meets Michael in a coffee shop and boy do things get hot and heavy quickly. Michael is a successful self made man and does what he can to make Julie happy. Michael knows there is something special about her. Julie is one kind hearted person and does a lot of work helping her ex find his brother who was given up for adoption but he never introduces them. Will the past and the secrets from then cause issues for Julie and Michael? Can Julie ever forgive Michael or will to walk away again with a bigger broken heart? ***I voluntarily read this ARC to give an honest review*** A great read! Michael Smart was a wealthy businessman whose mother had put him up for adoption when he was a baby. He had an older brother, Joshua, that had recently got in touch with him and they were trying to form a brotherly relationship. Josh was a doctor doing his residency in a Dallas hospital. The brothers met up most Thursdays for dinner. Michael asked about Josh's girlfriend and was told he had broken up with her because he couldn't deal with a relationship after they had been together for 2 years. Josh's ex-girlfriend, Julie, distraught over being dumped decided to move from Dallas to the small town of Ennis. She and friend found a house there and her favorite place was a small coffee shop where she could sit quietly and write. While there she met Michael. He introduced himself and asked if he could sit with her. This was the beginning of their involvement. What will happen when Michael introduces Julie to his brother?

Julie - supported her ex Josh, through med school for 2 years, and now as he’s climbing up the career ladder, he suddenly unceremoniously dumps her!

Wanting to get as far away from Dallas that she could, Julie decided to move to Ennis, a small town in Texas, for a new start and to finally put herself first and go after her own dreams.

Michael is sexy, hot as h€ll, passionate and a sweet guy. Micheal owns his own company in Ennis and only 3 years ago found out he’d been adopted and had a older brother.

While sitting in a coffee shop one day, Julie meets Michael, when he asks if he could join her. Not looking for another relationship, but feeling the sparks fly, the sexual tension builds and they find they have great chemistry.

But then her ex Josh, comes barging back in her life, with news that could change everything.

Will she go back to Josh?
Will she make a go of it with Michael
And what news, can possibly change everything for her?

Great story. Intense heat between Julie and Michael—the kind that makes you want to keep reading even when Julie’s whining (wining) and crying binges start to grate on the nerves. The characters are nicely done, except for the above mentioned frustration on my part, but that may just be me… after all, I loved the rest of the book.

Michael is charming, sexy, and totally drawn in by Julie. He’s not perfect, which kind of makes him even more alluring. Julie’s ex, Joshua, is too busy and self-absorbed to recognize her worth. No, that’s being unfair. He’s an ass. Julie is a smart woman whose confidence has been pretty beaten up by Joshua, but it’s still there. She’s still a strong person with a mind of her own, and some serious trust issues to work out.

In all, this is a great story with lots of gloriously passionate fire between the two lovers. Those concerned with mature language and steamy scenes may want to take notice of their presence. But if this is not an issue, you’ll find this to be an intense and beautiful story.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. When Julie's boyfriend of 2 years, Joshua, broke up with her totally devastated her. With a broken heart she moved to the little town of Ennis an hour from Dallas. One morning while sitting at a local coffee shop looking for a job on line a good looking guy walks in and Julie caught herself staring at him and looked back at her computer.
Michael stopped for his usual cup of coffee and noticed a blonde sitting at one of the tables and couldn't resist going over to her. When she looked up and they looked at each other there an instant attraction. Before he left he got her number. All day all he could do was think about her so he called her and asked her to go out to dinner tomorrow. They spent a couple hours just talking and they both felt like they've known each other longer than a day. When things started getting serious with each other there were other forces working against them. This is book is well written and I the charachters are well rounded. A must read.

After a two year relationship ended with her ex Julie decided to leave and start a new life somewhere new and Ennis seems like the prefect place to start.

Who knew that soul mates could meet and fall in love but the circumstances of the past and background could possibly ruin what was meant to be.

Julie's ex Josh is a royal pain in the behind, he is emotionally abusive to her. For two years she stayed with him while he completed his medical schooling while he ignored her. Upon starating his residency he decided to dump her.

When Michael was born he was given up and adopted. Imagine his surprise when his long lost brother tracks him down and wants a relationship decades later.

Michael and Julie, meet starts talking and have an instant attraction for one another, but Michael has a secret one that Josh is only too happy to relay to Julie that could destroy their relationship. Because he's very petty about them being together for no reason whatsoever.

Can these two look past the hurt and pain and live, love and laugh together for the rest of their lives.

The actual storyline and romance between Julie and Michael was a good read. This author is consistent in writing page turning romances with steamy scenes.

I didn't like the beginning where we get to read a graphic play by play of Michael having great sex with a blonde one night stand. Yeah, I get it that he can and does it with whatever woman he wants, but it just rubs me the wrong way when have I to read how much the main character is loving it with another woman. Yuk. It also diminished the scenes with Julie as he pretty much does the same with her.

He and Joshua really do a number on Julie and I really felt for her. When Michael hurt her the second time by disregarding her - I mean really, a text takes 15 seconds, I thought it was really lame.

All the drama does make for a page turning storyline and I liked that Julie was able to get angry, and also be forgiving at the end.

I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.

In this book we meet Michael and Julie. Micheal is a little bored with his life but isn't looking for a life long commitment that is until he meets the one woman he shouldn't have. Julie has been supporting her ex all through medical school. Now when he starts his residency he has decided that a commitment is not what he is looking for at this time. Little did Julie know when that door opened the next man she meets is one she wasn't suppose to. Will they find a HEA or will their decks just be to stacked against them?

This is a book that will be grabbing for a cool drink or jumping in a cold shower. It does have some twists and turns that will have you hooked from the first word to the very end. There is so much I want to tell you about this book but don't want to ruin it for anyone else. I will say that I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.

What are the odds of moving to a different town, finding a hot guy, falling for said guy, then finding out he is your ex's brother? I would say the odds are very high unless you are reading "The Better Brother". I am not sure how best to review this one as I love all of Rye Hart's books, but I just didn't feel the connections in this one as I have in her previous books. It felt a bit rushed to have time to connect with the characters and was more of a YA book that lacked maturity for me. Julie was a bit whiny showing her immaturity. Michael knew more than he was saying, but did fall in love with Julie with lots of mistakes along the way. Josh was the other brother, had connections to them both, a fact that was unknown only to Julie. It does have a HEA for Michael and Julie, with some resolutions for them all. I would like to thank Rye Hart for gifting me "The Better Brother". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 3 Stars!
