This is one that keeps you on edge from start to finish. While Alex is grieving for her dead girlfriend, she is forced back into the police investigation to try to pin down the drug dealer that caused this. This involves Alex finding a way into his family through his daughter, Nat, and gaining their trust. However, things take a turn when they are getting closer to the truth and she starts to find herself getting closer to Nat, and questioning where her priorities are lying.
A really enjoyable story, something a bit different. Alex is a fantastic main character, trying to pull herself through the grief and remain professional, whilst fighting off the guilt she has about having feelings for Nat. Definitely one to read if you like something with suspense.

I honestly wished I had DNF'ed this book.

Distractingly terrible grammar and spelling.

"She's my cousin's sister," is the brilliant excuse for a woman living at Alex's house?

A medical doctor is cut by an addict in the street, and does not want to treat or at least disinfect the wound?

A professor exhumes Alex' gf's body, and plays Frankenstein with her, but is deemed innocent of any wrongdoing.

The DEA is pulled off a case by the FBI, but keeps openly working the case?

This book DOESN'T MAKE ANY SENSE.

Aaaa! My head hurts

I received a free copy of this book from the author in return for an honest review.

At times I found myself distracted by all the miss-edits—and unfortunately the worst of them are on the very first page—which is a shame because it’s actually a good storyline with some twists and turns you really don’t see coming.

A lively and captivating story about how Alexandra life has develop and how did the environment and people are affecting her life.

Bought this months ago, did not really start due to some bad review. However thought of giving it a try after receiving the edited revised copy. Love the main character Alexandra a total cool badass, strong character, certainly a rip roaring tale with plenty of suspense. Unexpected twist with an interesting finale. Good read

I was introduced to this story as a thriller romance, and by all means it lived up to that billing. The book follows agent and rule breaker Alex, as well as her pining roommate Gwen. Alex is heartbroken. She’s lost the woman she intended to marry. Gwen is young but bright, and she sees a lot of the things Alex tries to hide.
What follows is dark and tumultuous. There’s a very Luke/Leia dynamic that I could go on about, but it’s better if you read it yourself. The book is unique, and reading it feels like unraveling a long suppressed secret.
