The plot is interesting. The female character is better than the male, I thought he was weak, and then there's that fast final.
I do love to read stories with alien characters, but this one was a little disappointed to me.

Barsork was disturbed by his brother’s auction house where women were kidnapped and sold. He stealthily approached it in the dark to see for himself. At first, when many of their women died from a plague or were infertile, women from other planets had eagerly volunteered for a Xicret mate since they were handsome warriors. But those warriors who purchased a mate felt they were property and treated them badly. Now Carzon took women by force and sold them to the highest bidder in his profitable auction house.

Barsork saw how the auction was handled and allowed himself to be taken to his brother, Carzon. He asked permission to go to Earth and verify the bad conditions Carzon told the bidders about. He said if it were true, he would help with the auctions himself. Otherwise, he would invoke the Right of Contest, a challenge where he would fight his brother for the throne.

Barsork was surprised that much of what his brother described was true. Then he met Betty, a sweet girl who was at the clinic only because her roommate insisted, in case she got “lucky” at a campus party. He asked her out for coffee and asked why she was at the clinic. When his brother called for the list of 10 names they agreed to, he gave only 9 because he didn’t want Betty included. Already the women at the clinic were noticing that the missing women had recently been to the clinic. It was time for Barsork to ask Betty to run away with him as he made arrangements with his brother to send a ship that very evening. Would she go with him? Would she accept that he was not human as she had assumed? And what would happen when Carzon discovered her?

This book was quite different than the author’s other books. I really enjoyed Barsork and Betty’s growing relationship. He was so loving to her. The reader has to wonder how the abduction of the other women will be resolved, though! Get a copy of this book and see what happens! There will be tons of action, twists and turns, and adventure in this story!

Poor writing, inconsistencies = DNF

Book 1 in the Alien Auction House series, I recently read book 2, which I mostly liked, but did feel there were some background gaps so I picked this up to try to fill in some of the missing pieces.

While I did get some of the background I was looking for, what really hit me was a number of inconsistencies between book 1 and 2. For one, the alien race name was different. At first I thought this book might be about a related species, but nope, there was a planet leader/auction house owner with the exact same name so it had to be the same planet. It’s such a basic thing to get wrong that I was tempted to quit reading, but decided to persevere only to become more confused as the writing just didn’t seem as good as book 2–which I had just finished earlier in the day.

There was also a logic error early on that made me cringe (character used eye drops that let him see through everything but flesh, but he was still seeing things like sticks, metal rods and podiums?!). Still, I continued reading, trying to give the author the benefit of the doubt but another chapter and a half in, and I skipped to the end to see if it was going to get any better, only to confirm that the planet leader/auction house owner with the same name from book 2 wasn’t actually the same character (I thought maybe something in this book would explain why the character seemed so different from book to book, but another big nope). So I gave up. And I almost NEVER give up.

Basically the writing here just wasn’t anywhere near the quality of book 2. I’m not sure if there was an editor change, or if this is a case of different ghostwriters publishing under the same pen name—yes, I thought the writing changed that much. I actually went back to see if there was anything in either blurb about different authors writing in the same world or using a similar premise but nada.

Poor writing and inconsistencies made this a DNF for me.

This story starts off with college student Betty who studies astronomy and her room mate Jenny
tries to convince her to go to a big party but to get birth control first. Betty is a virgin and not planningon having sex with a stranger but goes to the clinic anyway. At the clinic, she meets Barsork who is really an alien disguised as a human. Borsork is the brother of King Carzon of planet Xicret, who is abducting human women to sell at his auction house for breeding. Xicret lost most of their women and need breeders to re-populate their planet. King Carzon pressures Barsork into abducting more women but Barsork tells him that things have gotten very tense with all the missing women around the area of the clinic. Barsork decides to abduct Betty for himself and to keep her safe from abduction by the King's abduction team. Their ship is taken over by Barsork and he brings Betty to a safe planet.
Although Betty is upset at being abducted by Barsork, he convinces her he did what he thought would
be the safest thing for her and that he had strong feelings for Betty. Betty admired Barzork too and the couple begin to learn about each other and the planets they have around them.
There is a good love story that is also a problem for the couple who are trying to help the abducted and auctioned women while avoiding the King of Xicret who is hunting his brother Barsork and the human, Betty.
I enjoyed the story that weaves the planet's inhabitants and the world they live on. There are also women who have escaped King Carzon's world, hiding in the area too. Betty wants to help them and that will risk her life and Barzork's.
I hope you will read this book too, you will enjoy it like I did!

>Book review – Sold to the Alien King
>I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 1st in the Alien Auction House series and ends in an HEA. Barsork is the younger brother of a ruthless king. This king loves to make money by running an auction house of sex slavery for various species of women. Barsork knows that this practice is wrong and goes to Earth to prove to himself that the Earth females are really better off being sold.
>This plot point seemed odd to me. Why would Barsork just choose Earth to check on the validity of the purpose for the horrible auction house? On Earth, Barsork takes a job in family planning on a college campus. Once again, this job choice seemed odd. He actually helps his brother kidnap Earth women while he is deciding if what his brother is doing is ethical or not. This whole plot makes Barsork seem very weak and indecisive.
>Barsork kidnaps Emily to save her from his brother. They hide on a sanctuary planet. The descriptions of the planet, to other aliens on the planet and the different foods are very rich and interesting. Surprisingly, any romantic or erotic scenes pale in comparison to the description of the breakfasts Barsork makes for Emily. There is a strange sub-plot involving lesbians that really didn’t seem to fit.
>This book is appropriate for an adult audience. I am giving this book 3 stars. The story line was weak, based on decisions that didn’t make sense. The scenes that would have been interesting, like Barsork’s fight for the crown, were not written.

3.5 stars sadly

There really was a lot to like about this book, but the characters felt weak, especially Barsork. I thought we would have an epic battle with him using his Dargark in a way that others of his kind didn't, to bring his brother's horrible rule to an end. But sadly, no. He just went off and then came back and the dead was done. I'm glad that he finally realized that he couldn't continue to hide from his brother if he wanted any type of life with Betty. And then I was surprised by Betty's desire for Barsork to meet her family, as it didn't feel like she had much affection for them because of their neglect of her; she should have built herself a family with Barsork because she said that he showed her the most love, ever. So what did I like about this book? I really liked the world building. The holo parties sounded absolutely fantastic as well as the other holo creations. And I also liked the fact that they bonded; the first couple in 1000 years. It was romantic. I also liked how the children were so revered. I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book, and I borrowed it through the Kindle Unlimited program too.

Wow what an amazing book! This is such a wonderfully well-
written and thought out story. I love books that play with my
emotions. When they make you feel like you’re in the story, there
is no better experience.

This is Barsork and Betty’s story. And man what a story it is.
Barsork is an Alien and has a brother who is king. And his brother
is beyond evil. Barsork is against the idea of abducting humans, put
forth by his brother. But his brother convenes him to go to earth to
see for himself as his penance. But when he meets Betty, he soon
sees things through her eyes. But to keep her safe he has to kidnap
her to save her from his brother. And so she falls for him too.
There is one problem his brother is still after them and now he has
to find a wy to keep her safe and stop his brother before it is too
late.

Now before I ruin this for you I will leave off here. I hope you
enjoy this book as much as I did. If you do like this book, please
consider leaving a review. The Authors really like it when you do;
they value your opinions too

I had to force myself to finish this book... the characters were shallow and fake. there was no world building, no explaining any of the customs of the planet or the "bonding" process that Barsork said he had experienced with Betty... the author contradicts herself literally like every other chapter. Betty was super ready to betray someone she suposedly loved to save herself and that was pretty much when I stopped even trying to like the book. if you're that shallow and you don't even want to try and defend someone who is at least trying to fix the things he and his people have done then you don't deserve your happily ever after. then when it was time for Barsork to face the antagonist, his brother, who everyone had built up to be so horrible and powerful.. the author skips it completely.. so it had the potential to be really good but missed completely.

What an amazing book I couldn’t put it down from start to finish I was kept spell bound and wanting more, it’s a strange love story that was born from an alien race the Xicret Abducting earth woman and selling them at a auction house on there planet once Barsork found out what his brother was doing he had no choice but to help him to save his own life and that’s when he is sent to earth to find more women to sell for his brother and that’s where he meets Betty and is so taken with her he carn’t stand the thought of her being sold off at the auction that he abducts her to save her life and so the love story unfolds. Get this book to read it’s amazing.

Disappointed

I've read many stories from this duo. It's kind of a hit and miss with them. I'm not sure which one writes what, but one of them is very talented and the other one always writes with the caliber of a 1st time teenage writer. You can almost always tell between the two because of the juvenile speaking and behavior that always shows up in parts of the story. This one however was so beyond painful to read that I skipped through the pages to find sections of the other author, since she always carries the story so well that I always ignore the juvenile writing of the other author, but it was awful from beginning to the very end.

Beautiful world

To not give away the whole ending of the book, the title really should be changed. However the world building and character building were absolutely perfect. At times the POVs were written incorrectly but not to a point that it messed up the story line. I really enjoyed seeing Betty and Barsork learn about each other in the Earth way before she gets “abducted.” It made it easier to relate to them during the tough times. The action scenes if I were to call them that, were glassed over and we only see the end results. Overall a very good read and makes me what a hollo party too!

Great alien adventure. Barsock definitely adds some excitement to nerdy Betty's life. Although Betty is new to anything except studying, she holds her own when dealing with this alpha alien. Barsock is so smitten that he will do anything to make her happy. Their relationship has its challenges but their bond won't be denied. What I really love about Barsock is not only his unconditional, sacrificial love for Betty but that he is man enough to show and tell her, she completes him and he is not ashamed of that.

What a great story. This one is exciting, mysterious, fun, suspenseful and so much more. His brother the king has an auction house where they sell women from all over. Other planets and earth. His brother goes to earth to work in a clinic and get names of women for his brother to abduct. He meets her and abducts her to keep her from his brother. His planet had lost most of their women. I enjoyed this one lots and hated to see it end. I really recommend this one. I was given a review copy and voluntarily review it.

"Sold to the Alien King" was a sweet, easy-to-read sci-fi romance that satisfied this girl's alien abduction addiction. It was light on violence, had sufficient sexy times and a satisfying conclusion and was just the ticket to reset after reading so much drama-filled stories. Besides a plot inconsistency (the heroine was wearing a skirt in one scene and pants a few sentences later) and the title (the heroine was never actually 'sold' to an alien king), I found it to be an enjoyable story and a solid 3.5 star read.

This is a fascinating, intriguing book and I thoroughly enjoyed reading it. What you will find in this book is: drama, intrigue, mystery, twists & turns, adventure, action, abduction, fear, auctions, sex slavery, sanctuary, lust, love and erotic scenes. The story-line and plot is well thought out and written. The characters experience various emotional feelings according to the situation they find themselves in. I would recommend this book to people who like to read alien abduction romance with a HEA.

Great start to this series

I read a few reviews that said they thought the female characters were stronger and more interesting. I think this series will be more about the females and how they bring down the men that have been abducting and selling females. It doesn't make the men less interesting just more expressive with their emotions. I'm looking forward to the next book to see how the other women get involved and how Betty is received on the alien planet.

Oh boy! this is one hot story of romance, kidnapping, lies, fear, auctioned off for sex and maybe worse and love. This is one very interesting adventure story. Barsork is an alien alpha shifter king who takes Betty from Earth. Betty is not impressed with the kidnapping of females to be placed on the auction block.
Will she be able to believe Barsock will protect her? Will Betty get back to Earth? Will Barrack be able to shutdown the auctions?

Ughhhhh.

I feel like this was written by a twelve year old. The writing was cheap, the heroine acted like she was 16. The dialogue was sad, and not in a good way.

Sex scenes seemed to be written by someone who had only ever watched porn, and didn’t know how things actually worked.

The plot had a good premise, and the bones of the book were there, they just weren’t told well.

Two stars because the idea itself was a good one, otherwise the rest of it is a one star.

Thanks, but no thanks.

I enjoyed this alien sci-fi novel. It was a well-thought out story line. This is Betty and Barsork story and I really liked them both together. The story was fast-paced and very descriptive especially when they were on the alien planets. It was at times angsty with steamy scenes.
I listened to the audible version of this novel and I loved it. Audra Cook did a remarkable job with the narration and was able to make the story so much more interesting. I enjoyed this novel.

Unexpected

Finding a true bonding in the most unexpected places. Barsork doesn’t believe what his father says about the women of Earth. His brother has been abducting them from Earth and selling them at an auction. Barsork goes to Earth and sees what his brother has been saying, then he meets Betty and everything changes. Can they stop his brother from abducting the women? Can they make a life together?

This is the first book in a new series from this author
If the rest of the books are as good as this one we are really
in for a treat.
Betty is at college and she is kidnapped by Alies.
Barsork was the alpha who kidnapped her but he is not
keen on the idea of selling humans at all.
Will Barsork be able to get Betty to trust him or not

Over 50 % of the book and I’m still waiting for the h to be sold to someone (anyone), and the H to become alpha and grow a pair (OMG this guys is so namby-pamby!). This book is so boring!! I’m not sure what is going on, I have read both author in the past and I have enjoyed their books, but this one is a total fail.
