However, Maggie was tired of always being pushed around. No longer willing to sit on the sidelines, Maggie called Trevor out for who he really was.

At thirty years old Trevor McCain was now Hollywood’s biggest star. Men wanted to be him, and women wanted to be with him. Problem was, he was tired of the everyday “yes, sir” life, but no one dared to ever tell him no.

Hollywood Dreams is a stand alone, sexy, enemies to lovers rom-com by Molly O’Hare. You’re going to meet a Hero that you will want to hate but won’t be able to help but fall in love with. And a heroine that doesn’t hesitate to say what’s on her mind, and is determined to make her own dreams come true.

hollywood dream

Maggie Connolly grew up listening to her mother tell her she was overweight, plain, and would never amount to anything. All Maggie has ever wanted was to be an actor. After the death of the only person that has ever shown her any love, her grandmother, she packed up and moved to Los Angeles. She’s going to make her own dreams come true. But after countless auditions, she’s starting to doubt herself, until she finally scored a small part on a major motion picture starring the hottest guy in Hollywood. If only she hadn’t made that wrong turn while searching for her sound stage.

Trevor McCain was the hottest thing in Hollywood right now. And he exploited that fact as often as possible. He knew he could get away with pretty much whatever he wanted. Then THAT woman walked into his dressing room at a very bad time. He didn’t hesitate to tell her just what he thought of her as well as repeating his opinions in front of everyone else to the director.

Directing Movies

Maggie is sure that her very short career is now over. But the director sticks up for her, much to the dismay of the rudest man she has ever met. She used to have a bit of a crush on Trevor. How could she not. But the real life Trevor is nothing like the one she saw in the movies.

The truth is, Trevor might be famous but he’s really very much alone. He never knows who he can really trust. And all of his so called friends really just want something from him. Maggie is completely the opposite of what he is normally attracted to. So why does his body react every time she starts spewing her hateful words at him? Why can he not even look at any other woman? Why can he not get her off his mind? But every time they are anywhere near each other, all they do is argue.

siamese cat meowing

These two were so cute. I really didn’t like Trevor at first. But his reaction to Maggie was so funny. He was so perplexed by it! And once he gave in, I loved his “Mine” mentality! Then there is Maggie’s Siamese cat, Pocket to keep them both on their toes. The author says the cat just might take after her own cat!

This is a super fun, sweet, sexy read that I thoroughly enjoyed. Trevor is so confused and it takes him several tries to get his point across. And Maggie’s temper makes things so much fun. Together, along with Lexi and Danny, their friends, this is a fast, fun read that will definitely make you smile, and make your day just a little bit better.

All credit for making the two teasers in this review goes to Red Hatter Book Blog. They did an amazing job with them!

I took one for the team so you guys never have to read this atrocity of a book.

Honestly, I am sitting here trying to wrack my brain, trying to find the reason as to why anyone would read this book and find it even remotely good, because it really is THAT bad and I am not even exaggerating.

I know everyone mostly had an issue with the Hero fucking O/w early on but that's so far from being the biggest issue here. With that in mind, let me to tell you that if you have body image issues, I suggest you stay away from this book completely because this book could be triggering for some.

First of all, I loved the heroine. She's no doormat. In fact, she's never afraid to say it as it is. Her whole life, she had been conditioned to think that she would never make it in Hollywood because of her body size but did she give a fuck? Hell no, she didn't! She knew her worth and she pushed through and I found that so admirable. She's an amazing character.

Hence why I was so shocked that the author would pair her up with the worst possible Hero ever. He's the literal definition of a sleazebag. He's so far from a Hero--he's not even an anti hero, he's just a straight up a disgusting human being.

Excuse me, but Maggie DID NOT deserve a Hero who was a man child that was suffering from a severe case of male entitlement. He humiliated her at every turn, degraded her, fat shamed her. Does that sound like a Hero to you? The ONLY reason why he even paid any attention to her at all was because his dick got hard for her. Literally. I am not exaggerating.

Even then, Hero was so pissed at himself because how fucking dare he became sexually attracted to a fat woman right? Fat women were so beneath him! He grumbled and complained and BLAMED the heroine for making him hard. What the fuck is up with that?!

"“Hi,” a sales clerk greeted him. “Is there anything I can help you with?”
Trevor looked her up and down. She was beautiful. Typical, Hollywood beauty, she possessed bright blue eyes, bleach blond hair, a huge rack, and an even bigger ass. Sure, he could instantly tell they were all fake, but who was he to judge?"

Okay so bitch let me get this straight. Judging a Hollywood beauty is somehow a No-no to you but fatshaming the woman you were supposedly attracted to is okay?

By the way, here are some quotes of the Hero being a piece of shit to the heroine:

“Why in the hell would anyone cast a fat, ugly bitch, as a waitress in a bar? The waitress needs to be hot, not…” He pointed his finger at her looking up and down. “…that.”

“Oh man. Now, I get it. It makes perfect sense why she’s even here.” He looked Danny up and down. “You’re fucking her, aren’t you?” Trevor shrugged smugly. “Fat girls need love too, I guess.”

Every time he tried to get close to one of the willing ladies, stupid fat Maggie would pop back into his head. It was like she planted some extraterrestrial mind warping shit in his brain.

“You’re what’s wrong with me. Ever since that fucking day you walked in on me you’ve been the problem. You’re the fucking cause of all my problems. You and your fat fucking body!”

“You have to walk up four flights of stairs every day and you’re still overweight?” he asked in disbelief.

And these are just tiny snippets of how horrible the Hero was with the heroine. And don't even get me started on how weirdly possessive the Hero was towards the heroine for NO FUCKING REASON. She couldn't even breathe in the direction of the opposite sex without him getting worked up over nothing. It was ridiculous.

The heroine's best friend is also just as delusional and trash for pushing the heroine and Hero together just because he gave her a fucking necklace and fixed her car once (without her permission). Honey, your friend did not owe that guy anything! Literally why?!

I'm just... who thought this book was a good idea? Did anyone ever stopped to think that "hey, maybe this just isn't working...."

I am so disappointed.

Hollywood Dreams is swoon worthy, sweet, sexy, laugh out loud funny, and so cute! I absolutely adored Maggie and Trevor's romance. These two complete opposite people meld so well together and I loved seeing their journey to happily ever after!

Maggie is wow. I love her attitude! She thinks she isn't confident, but her confidence oozes off the pages. She's not scared to tell her mind. She's not scared to point out her flaws. She is 100% who I wanna be when I grow up. Now Trevor *sigh*, Trevor is a huge asshole. Let's be honest. He really is. He is one of those "I'm not sure if he's redeemable" assholes. The way he acts really makes you want to punch him. At first. Then slowly, he redeems himself. Oh does Trevor redeem himself! After being used to everyone bowing down to him, I think he enjoys the fresh air that is Maggie. She takes none of his shit. He slowly realizes how big of an asshole he is and works on that.

This is a hidden gem. Hard to believe it's Molly O'Hare's first book. From Maggie and the ever so loud Pocket to Trevor to Lexi and Danny, I fell in love hard. All these characters are so real. Molly O'Hare gives you sweet and sexy with funny and real. Couldn't ask for more!

I made it to 40-50% before giving up......

- Hero is a manho & a disgusting pig! He constantly badmouths heroine as being "fat" - all while lusting after her. I understand that he gets better towards the end, but I just didn't care to find out. This one was too vile for me to like.
- When story opens, he is f*****g OW when heroine accidentally barges in and sees them.
- Best part of the story? The Heroine! Hence why it even got 2 stars.

This heroine is no shrinking violet or doormat! She gives it back to Hero in tenfold - especially when he badmouths her & degrades her by calling her "fat". She pays him back by telling all that he has a small d**k! (loved that part!).

Heroine is described as a curvy woman but Hero called her "fat & ugly". She has spent her entire life being degraded by her mother and others. It should have left her not confident or likable but that is not the case with Maggie. She is sweet, talented and so likable that people around her can't help but befriend her! She does though have a scary cat that borders on psycho.....

“I don’t’ know why everyone is so fascinated with you. Yeah sure, you’ve got a hot body, but the way you treat people is repulsive. You act like a spoiled two-year-old that was just told he needed to take a Goddamn nap.”

“And, another thing!” she continued. “If you are going to screw someone and you don’t want to get caught lock the fucking door, you moron. If you’re so concerned…” She used air quotes. “…about someone coming in to snap a picture of your little willy to sell it to the tabloids, you’d think you’d lock the fuckin’ door.”

“It amazes me that you haven’t had your face rearranged. How is it possible you haven’t gotten the shit beat out of you, for the crap you say?”she asked, annoyance dripping from every word.

“Everyone loves me,” he said moving past her taking the steps two at a time.

“Dick.”

I have friends who are slightly overweight and have seen the abuse & harassment they go through every day so this story struck a cord with me which is why I could not stand the Hero at all or believe in their "romance". He was too selfish & entitled prick! It was not entertaining at all to read about a hero constantly sprouting abuse at the heroine and trying to undermine her character! That is not romance to me.

This romance is really different to most of the BBW romances I’ve read so far. The hero, Trevor, is not just a bad boy - he’s a foul-mouthed, up-himself bloke with a definite nasty side! At first I disliked him, but as the story progresses and the heroine refuses to suck-up to the Hollywood heartthrob, and in fact she returns the verbal nastiness as fast as he gives it, Trevor starts to see her in a whole different light.
Maggie is curvy, mouthy, and refusing to give in to the demands of Hollywood to be slim and ravishing. Meeting her idol, Trevor, turned sour fast, but she wasn’t going to back down and gave as good as she got.
Combined with Pocket, her cat (who is a total menace and had me cracking up) this was an intriguing read. I started reading it at 10pm and kept going until well after midnight! So if you’re looking for a BBW romance with a difference, give this a go.

I was curious and really wanted to see if this Trevor really redeemed himself. But wow. The guy was one of the most deplorable, disgusting "hero" ever. Honestly, I almost expected him to start spitting at poor Maggie. It's just mind-boggling how appalling he was and acted. And sorry, but words do hurt and carry an impact. This is no way any male, or human should behave. Utterly disgusting. The vile words he spewed. "F*cking fat b*tch", mantra. Oh HELLL NO. I would have lost it the first time and knock his lights out. I was seething at how he continuously demean and humiliate Maggie in front of other people. And then suddenly he pulls a 180 around 60% and "light bulb". "Oh, I was a mean bully cause I actually like her." And she just sleeps with him. Hello pride and dignity? Where are thou?

You're not going to convince me a guy who behaves like such an absolute twat to that level, is suddenly overcome with such love. I need to see the transition. I don't believe in his turnabout. His pathetic attempt at a grovel was a joke. He went to hurling insults, then wanting to bone her when realizes he may indeed want the "chubby chick". The same one that just recently repulses him pages before. As for Maggie. She may have not been a doormat, but man. She didn't make him work for it at all. SMDH

This was a fun debut novel from Molly O'Hare. An enemies-to-lovers, Hollywood rom-com with a sassy heroine and an at first very unlikeable hero to win your heart. It's not often that I find myself wanting to read the stories of secondary characters, but I can't wait to read Lexi and Danny's.

Omg where do I start???
Do I start with the fact that Molly O’Hare has become one of my fave romcom writers, or do I start with how incredibly amazing this book was!

I’m kicking myself for not reading this book sooner but now that I’ve read it I want more!!!!

Trevor- Hollywood’s “it” man! A total douche bag that doesn’t know when to shut his mouth and you just wanted to kill him 60% of the time!

Maggie- A beautiful girl with curves in all the right places but has been put down most of her life because of her size! Trying to make it into Hollywood.

Then her first day on set and she stumbles into Trevor’s room while he is doing the nasty.

From there it’s one jab after another with the both of them on a mission to make the others life hell.

Trevor constantly puts Maggie down until the day he realises that the hate he feels is actually a little bit like love!!

This book was fantastic! It’s so real and relatable! The story line was brilliant, the character development was awesome, the secondary characters Lexi and Danny were amazing! (I can’t wait for their book!!!!) I loved the humour, the sexual tension was off the charts and I couldn’t get enough!!!!!

One again this author really knows how to draw you in and keep you under the hypnotic spell of her words!!!!!

Love and respect for this author

I love that this author uses curvy women!
This is about a woman that all her life she was told she was ugly and fat, even by her mom, and would never have her dream job. She wanted to become and actress.
The main male in the story did the same thing, to her, in the beginning but couldn't get her out of his mind. She was his new "turn on" and he couldn't understand why. He had been hurt because of his money....he didn't have any real friends because of his status as a HOT actor.
He was THE man of her dreams. She had his movies, posters, memorabilia. And when she met his it was purely accidental. She opened the wrong door. He quickly changed her mind on how she felt about him when he started calling her names when she walked in on him and a woman. He hurts her feelings but she gives as good as she gets!
This book has a constant battle between the two, even when they become a couple. I love that he doesn't allow her, or anyone else, to talk bad about her.
I think it was a wonderful read!

Very well written story with great storyline and plot. I like that the characters are relatable and likeable and how they develop. I like the fast pace of the story. It suits it.
A fun read at times, passionate and emotional with twists. I just love that the heroin is not a model sized woman. We are some that not are modelsized :) - For a new author this was an amazingly well written story that absolutely is worth the read. I cannot wait to read her next book.

It is written in dual POV which gives the reader much more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. The epilogue is very welcomed and gives the story more to it and it finishes it better of than without it.
There are passion, drama, emotions, hot scenes and lots of chemistry in this amazing story.

I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Oh my... I totally LOVE a Hollywood Actor novel.

Trevor was a total arse and the fact that he made fun of Maggie's body image, humiliating her publically I wanted to punch him in the junk so bad!!!

I loved Maggie's attitude, even though she was hurt, devastated and embarrassed, she gave it right back. She had spunk.

I liked the honesty in the way the characters were written, telling a direct, descriptive story and allowed the characters to show true value and worth. It highlighted that appearance arrest always start teeth seem. I was drawn to the storytelling and authors honesty.

The plot was brilliant, love a good actor romance and this did not disappoint.

This book was a fun and laugh out loud read, and a definite bravo as a debut novel. I'm a sucker for a few things. Cats. BBW romances. Bad boy enemies to lovers romance. This book delivered on all levels!
Trevor and Maggie have amazing chemistry that jumps right off the page, and some really great back and forth banter. I did have a little bit of a hard time liking Trevor at first - however, both he and Maggie were well developed and by the end, I was rooting for them.
In all a great and really funny read!

I had a strange relationship with this book mainly because the whole time Trevor and Maggie were interacting, if you could call spewing vitriol at each other interacting, I wanted to give them a number of a good therapist/anger management class. Also the writing wasn’t always the best, at times overly descriptive and repetitive, BUT I actually finished it which is first new full length book I’ve finished in close to three weeks so that has to say something about it. It was honestly a light fun read and just what I needed so if this is my rut breaker than so be it.

All the stars for this “love to hate you” romance! Honestly, this book would earn 5 stars from me for the hilarious Pocket the cat alone! I loved reading about a heroine who believed in herself and her dreams and wouldn't let anyone stand in her way. Also, the enemies to lovers angle made for some oh so hot between the sheet scenes!

Loved but.......

I absolutely loved this book! I relate SO much to Maggie. The only reason for 4 stars is writing in 3rd person! I can't understand doing that for a romance novel. It feels so disconnecting! And this book had SO much true emotion and it could've been so amazing and the perfect read if ONLY in 1st person!

Trevor a Hollywood heartthrob and Maggie, a woman that refuses to give in to her crush demands. This rom-com was quite entertaining, I love douche bags in my books, so Trevor was along the line of what I like. The storyline kept me reading and the characters entertained me to no end. I really like that it was fast-paced and that the relationship between the characters was full of passion, drama, and emotional sides. I laughed one minute and the next I had this bad boy doing something that kept me reading. This enemies to lovers rom-com is one you want to read.

I've read all three of Molly's works and all of them are beyond brilliant with feisty female leads that any woman can relate to and stand up and cheer for them as they take on the male leads head on. Add a supporting cast of quirky characters and hilarious animal companions and it's win-win across the board.

I love Mags. Her following her dreams, taking no sass, fiery, kickass, and quirky personality is refreshing. I wanted to geld Trev for a lot of it, but as I read on it became clear to me that his attitude was his shield and he was just as vulnerable as Mags. He was so caught up with playing the roll of Hollywood's leading man that and always getting his way and Mags fearlessly challenged him every step of the way. They clash but in a way that makes them so perfect for each other. It's a fantastic read and the addition of the crazy evil kitty antics of Pocket and Best friend's Lexi and Danny giving them much needed guidance and you have one heck a love hate romantic comedy. Can't wait to read Lexi and Danny's story.

Hollywood dreams is Molly O'Hare first book. She introduces us to Maggie a curvy girl that wants to follow her dreams to be an actress in Hollywood.

SOME SPOILERS AHEAD...

I liked the book but I missed some back story from Maggie, a little more childhood moments with her mother and grandmother.
Trevor McCain is an intense son of a bitch, typical Hollywood guy that everybody loves and thinks he is perfection but he is an spoiled hot guy that needs to be calmed but with a bat hitting his head. He is very similar to Travis Maddox from Beautiful Disaster, they like to own the woman they love, it's very annoying. Don't get me wrong, I love a bad boy but I don't want to own by a possessive, rude guy. He is very sweet under all the hate and I wanna kill people attitude but it's a lot to handle.
I'd love to have a friend like Danny, I'm like him. When I'm on set Im nice with the actors, that's why I'm friends with a lot of them, also I'm shy like him. Cannot wait to read his book with Lexi, it needs to happen, maybe just their book with a little of Maggie and Trevor's wedding. I don't think Molly need to write a second book with more drama for them, this one had a lot and it would be a lot to me, I hate second parts with more drama that shouldn't happen.

At the end, I really liked the book, it's a great story, great character like Lexi, she is the very best, and the reality with Hollywood and his stupid standards.
Waiting for more books from Molly.

I have to say… I hated Trevor—so, so, so much. I kept thinking, “How is she going to redeem him? He’s awful!” Despite my doubts, Molly totally redeemed Trevor. I loved him by the end of the book. He fell in love almost against his will and the journey to that point was hilarious. I really loved Maggie. She was secure in her own skin and reached for her dreams despite everyone in her life fighting against her. I really enjoyed this enemies to lovers novel and can’t wait to see more from Molly O’Hare.

I enjoyed this. It was cute and laugh out loud. Some of the scenes (I'm looking at you here Trevor with your devotion of love at the end) were over the top but it kinda worked.

Is H an asshole in the beginning with an over inflated sense of self? Yup. Is h a kick-ass sassy queen? Hells Yeah. Does H continuously make mistakes? Yup and Yup. Trust me, it takes a while to get over just how badly T has messed up with his big mouth and it would take an awesome h (which she is) to move past his nonsense but it's worth it in the end.

I thought this was a great book. I loved the story. For a debut novel, it sure had the elements I look for in a romance. The difference from other books is that I hated Trevor (MC) at first, but once I gave him a chance, I realized he did have likable qualities; just like in real life, people can redeem themselves. Good job Molly, I just adore Maggie's character and I hope to see/read more from you!

I love reading your books. I’m a bigger girl and have dealt with the same stuff you write about. Even had a boss tell me he almost didn’t hire me because of my size! You make me laugh with your stories and wish these things happened in real life. You’re stories are romantic and real and funny. Thanks for your writing! P

eh... Thin (the book, not Molly).
I found it rather naive, might I even think: stupid?
It was very hard to actually believe in their "romance".
